  1. Sometime on the weekend please. Also maybe not saturday morning/afternoon, PST. I have church
  2. That's what you agree to do when you apply for a head of staff whitelist. Don't be dumb, but be a good sport. No, they don't. They agree to be competent (or at least mediocre) heads of staff and not abuse their whitelist. Being a good sport is important but it doesn't override other priorities of a head of staff, which is to at least do their job to an acceptable standard. Watch your tone with your lore master, small moderator. I agree with Hackie, however I think the problem is mostly with security mains, AIs, and HOS players. Ill explain soon. I'll explain how antags could do a bit better but like I said, its mainly on the AI and heads. This last week I have been antag three or four times. The first of those three times, as a ling, I handcuffed someone. Within seconds the AI said "well look at what youre doing." And i had to sprint into maintenance and wordlessly cut his head off because sec was instantly rocketing down the halls at me. They never found him, but I was instantly permabrigged and only managed to solve my predicament by killing all of security in one clean sweep with my arm blade when trying to get their attention for the entire round failed. In the next instance, there was a juggernaut breaking walls on the surface during an unidentified lifeforms event, and the HOS' first instinct was to elevate to red and activate three combat borgs. Then they went over to a doctor and asked her why her "religion" she was talking about over comms wasnt listed in her records, and then started very fakely 'putting the pieces together' on comms like so: "guys.... anyone think its weird that... all of these people are religious.. but dont have notes of it...? I feel like that one creature was created by them to assassinate people and theyre a religious cult... just a hunch?" In response to this, I purposefully let them cult me and started killing officers because the entire cult was dead, in permabrig, or so scared of secs meta that they had to be passive or even act against fellow cult members to hide. The next instance I was a cultist. There was a lady on fire in the medbay. I went to pull her towards a medkit in the cargo bay and she was too drunk to consent. Security stopped me with five officers saying I was abducting her, pulling her around the central hall unrestrained, and stunned me with gloves. All of a sudden they circled me and told me they wanted to search me (obviously they wanted to see my cult papers) and instead i walked off and told them to get a warrant. When the AI bolted open all the doors for them I sprinted in mining, snatched a hardsuit and forced the external airlock and fled into open space. The fucking officers, hell bent on catching the guy who "didnt submit to a search", chased me into space trying to arrest me. I thought this was pretty bloodthirsty and obvious metagame so I ahelped and then killed them with my pickaxe. Inversely to that, I saw a wizard hand the Captain a spellbook upon introduction and tell her to "go ahead and read it" and when she did it did its purpose, and exploded her into a husk, on fire, with no arms, in a single tick. I went ahead and (accidentally) executed that one on the spot as the responding officer. I could go on and on, but the point is that there is a stupidly ridiculous precedent that the other side will kill you the second you turn your back or cease harm batoning everything in sight. I believe the first responsibility lies on sec and the heads of staff to get their stuff in control instead of sending bloodhound officers into open space in standard gear to shoot at someone who might be a traitor because he pulled somebody in a circle. Who cares if you lose a round. If the antags are all in permabrig in straight jackets 10 mins into the round, wtf are the rest of us supposed to do with the round?!?!! When that no longer happens, the antags will stop killing all of you with no words.
  3. I don't wanna shit talk while being sneaky, but I won't name names because I'll get in "trouble" GINGER HOS LADY, why did you authorize THREE FUCKING COMBAT BORGS because there was a single "automata" breaking walls on the surface level. There was literally an announcement at the time that there were unidentified lifeforms around the station, and instead you and your detective jumped to the conclusion that the juggernaut must have been summoned to assassinate people by some kind of religious group. wtf.

  12. Just wanted to throw in my two cents- I have only once on my entire time on this server had a guy not ghost upon being soul stoned. It is not new or shocking, I'm pretty sure even I would ghost if I was made one. No one should HAVE to RP any scenarios they dont like or did not ask for at all, and should have the option to leave or ghost in these situations, IE being tortured, etc. Aside from that, and stop me if I'm overstepping my boundaries, but holy shit I am upset at the guys in the code dungeon. I'll be having a talk with each of them later to inform them that the whitey dont abide. That said just because they were being massive little cunts doesn't mean relativity dictates you guys have nothing happening between you. You are both clearly not fans of one another and I can see the logic in that reasoning given your history. However, Delta, you are a mod now, and should be above this in the name of good taste. Relativity because of other people being cunts doesn't really excuse that, you feel me? I get that this may come off as hypocrism because I'm telling you other people doing things doesn't excuse you doing it and it and then immediately saying "well EVERYONE ghosts when theyre soul sharded" but with that said, being a dick in lieu of others doing the same is far less excusable than rage quitting cause you got epically pwned in lieu of others leaving cause they also did. I think Xander has made a genuine effort to be better than he was. Ive seen his attempts myself and I am proud. Him falling through by ghosting because he doesnt want to roleplay as something that hes incapable of getting into isnt that much of an offense, and more just a rage quit, which everyone does and is allowed to do. He COULD probably keep the LOOC smack to himself, but its not all that emotive in comparison to the other stuff I've seen people say when sharded. *shrug
  13. I, Nuddley Mcdowell, Cargo Technician, Supply, would like to register my interest in this gathering.

  19. I get the wiki referencing, and I WAS out of the brig for a large portion of the round. For the first quarter of the round, I left because the Guwan asked me to mediate the conflict at the checkpoint. In the second quarter of the round, the available officers had a disagreement and I had to go over and mediate it. I kept my pistol out, which was described as a laser carbine in your IR, but oh well. I told you to cease harassing each other. I also left the brig because of the package I was bringing to the armory from research, and was kept outside because the attempted firebombing incident happened in the room next to the one I was in. Then after that, Hynes said he was being killed in disposals. I went with the borg, having lethals, hoping to cover officers. Immediately after that, I got appendicitis and was in surgery for a while. When I finally got back to the brig it had been broken into. I took a shotgun out, handed what supplies we could find to officers, and then I went hunting for, and killed, the antags. It was a pretty busy round for me if you can't tell.
  20. episode 3 just came out. hello earth can you hear me
  21. BYOND Key: Hivefleetchicken Game ID: Neb's IR says bQd-a9o8 . Player Byond Key: NebulaFlare Staff involved: I spoke to Whiterabit, who in turn spoke to staff and got logs verifying my side of the story. Reason for complaint: https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=8921 Nebulaflare made an incident report with the intent of getting Zouzoror in trouble while intentionally omitting several crucial facts about that round, including that they were antag. There was a pretty ordinary traitor round. I was playing Shas'kala Sakaei, a puritan Unathi warden. Working alongside me was the Unathi templar Sonorous Zouzoror. At one point in the round a Guwan (someone who has decided to make a character that will be subjected to racism and discrimination) joined. They were stopped at the checkpoint by our checkpoint officer Zouzoror. What ensued was tasteful, subtle racist roleplay (from what I gathered). Zouzoror made them file out extra paperwork, acted paranoid, all that. Seemed apprehensive about letting a Guwan on. Things were repeated to this degree repeatedly in the round, until antags came and started killing everyone. Small things like having a search warrant for her, having her fill out unnecessary paperwork. Very realistic, subtle, and overall good prejudice RP. Nebulaflare, playing the traitor officer Echo, took GREAT issue with this, giving the crewmember weaponry to attack security with. Later in the round, we had officers being killed and numerous traitors declaring their evil allegiances and we were running around with guns hunting them. It was all in all a successful, but non-canon round with plenty of antags and some fun RP. https://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=8921 I was surprised to see that Nebulaflare actually made an incident report the next morning based from their point of view. An incident in a round that they were a traitor in, and one filled with inaccuracies under the guise of "making the traitor stuff non-canon." I have a huge problem with this, since you can't omit key influences on behavior, like murders and mayhem, in order to bust a guy for something he did amidst the chaos. If it is a nuke ops round, and there are no heads to raise the alert level, you cannot "omit" the entirety of the nuclear ops and the emergency to say "I SAW X OFFICER HOLDING A LASER GUN IN THE OPEN". That's just not fair. The entire round should be considered in order to get every influence, and if there are people being killed that round... Who the heck is going to actually consider that canon enough to make an incident report? I'd like to pursue this a bit further by asking why Nebula didn't do anything as a traitor. If they solely kept from being majorly seditious so that they could keep their interactions canon and therefore get Zouzoror in trouble, I am very offended. That is not the way we play. In traitor rounds you add to the narrative, not do whatever you can to shut other peoples' down. We currently have a threat on punishing people who do not make anything of their antag selection. If you don't want to act like an antag, turn the preference off. I have gotten antag as Sakaei ONCE in my time playing on this map because there are people who keep all of their preferences on, and I am disappointed to see they don't do anything with the potential roleplay opportunities they take from me. Ok short rant on that over. One more thing. I don't like Incident Reports, never will, because what I saw that round was excellent IC conflict RP. You are KILLING all subtle conflict and restricting it to purely non-canon traitor-slaughter-fests by reporting every small thing you see, every time you can. Zouzoror and the Guwan's players both seemed to enjoy that. If you did not enjoy it, don't interact, or shut it down, but keep it within the round. If people want to make characters that are prone to conflict when meeting very obvious opposing viewpoints on-station, who are you to run in with universal recorders and cameras and go "UMMM I'D LIKE EVERYONE TO KNOW... CHOOSE YOUR NEXT WORDS VERY CAREFULLY THIS IS GOING ON THE FORUMS", that's just like the opposite of roleplay in my opinion. This game is not made for people to sit at desks and get suspended the second they drop a cup of coffee on the ground or throw an egg at someone, or tell someone to fuck off. We have characters that are made to be troublemakers, and if they butt heads with other people and are enjoying it, why are we making it an OOC issue? (You can tell me that IRs are purely IC but in my opinion there's nothing IC about them. You get PMed to run somewhere one round and then job banned for a week. The only thing not OOC about them is that you have to use in-game chat to defend yourself, but it's all just forum complaint nonsense that you say in the voice of your characters instead of your own. Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? I spoke to Whiterabit when I saw the Incident Report and made sure it was taken down. Approximate Date/Time: uhh like 12:30 AM PST 8/29/2017
  22. We literally have people making incident reports on rounds they were traitors in. If you play traitor like you play extended, turn your fucking candidacy off for god sakes.
