Nano's LoreDev Application.
Killerhurtz replied to nanotoxin's topic in Developer Applications Archives
Nano, I found it snarky specifically because instead of just going "it happened because of people passing on things" or just, SIMPLY adding "It's like a bad telephone game", you implied that I wouldn't know about such a basic concept and used a humoristic video of it. I get where you're coming from - but even if you didn't plan on seeming passive-aggressive, it would probably be a good idea to consider if things are appropriate to use and in what manner. Because at this point I honestly believe it's not conscious, it's in your writing style (not that it makes it better) -
I agree. Complaints should be for serious, long-standing issues - not "OMG SHITOPS VS SHITCURITY I'M SO SALTY". Everyone fucks up once in a while. And sometimes there's just no way out of a situation without angering someone. That's not worthy of a complaint.

See, you're doing it again. I can see you trying - but did you have to be so snarky when referring to the telephone game? I already got it before you posted that link. That whole sentence was completely snide. It's the things like this that make me reluctant. -
Surgery without anasthesia should actually hurt
Killerhurtz replied to Lady_of_Ravens's topic in Archive
Oh you were told right. Once I had to get a bone marrow extraction to get checked for leukemia, and I was crying and yelling and went borderline-unconscious because of the pain... despite local anesthetics. And that was just a curved needle taking a piece of bone out - I can't imagine the pain that would come with a complete severing of a bone. -
Seriously though it's got everything. Xe's, stupid shit AND a patreon. Found a better one: http://katfeete.net/writing/suestart.php Though I feel some parts are not fair: THAT'S THE REASON SHE'S A RD Though I got a score of 27 on that. And I feel that's accurate, and damn right I'm going to make things happen.

I'm with Calla on this one. I really tried, but the xe'ing was impossible. I'll be glad to use it if someone finds a non-retarded version, but until then, eh.

Energy Swords Cut Through Girders (Wall?) And Furniture
Killerhurtz replied to a topic in Completed Projects
Dreamix you're a goddamn hero. Just wanted to put that out there. But yeah, this actually sounds like a good idea if it doesn't conflict with the lore (because IIRC, energy blades are not hot - they're sharp? I don't know) But yeah, Dreamix, with your non-coder eyes and brain you made that? Time to give yourself some recognition. That was amazing. -
What about a neutral-grey tone like the default IPC shell color?

Other NanoTrasen stations besides Aurora
Killerhurtz replied to ChevalierMalFet's topic in Answered Questions
Also, for reference: the Aurora is an NSS Exodus-class station, if that still stands. Regardless, considering thread answered, locking and archiving. -

Jboy's Head Whitelist Re-Application
Killerhurtz replied to Jboy2000000's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
+1. When you recognize half of a player's characters list and no bad things come to mind, you know it's a worthwhile player. They have my full approval. -
It's not happened yet, and until it does I consider this forums open.

So basically, Skull, what you're saying is that this system would establish character persistence? I LOVE THIS

I, too, feel you are abrasive when being nice doesn't further your plans. There's also this post and this post about people who, in your moderation application, reported much of the same. And a quick look at your notes also reveal a long-standing tendency to do things just for the sake of it, from being an asshole to just being argumentative beyond reason, with the latest event being just a little over a month ago. In light of this, what traits make you a positive person to have on the Lore Team? Do you have an explanation as to these behaviors? -
Basically, a simple frame on wheels that can mount any exosuit-based tool. Drill, clamp, weapons, so on. They may or may not be attached to cargo tugs, depends on what we want. Possibly triggered by the components like remote sginallers and such? And with an interface, can activate/shoot them if needed. It would serve so many uses: -Cargo gets a mobile heavy-duty cargo clamp for deliveries/transportation -Mining, instead of having just a mining drill, can get the full extent of the use of a ripley drill without needing to know how to pilot a Ripley IC -Security gets a wider array of arsenal and area denial tools -If we allow it, mounting legs on it could allow for a speedy Head transport vehicle or something Thoughts?

"when the new map comes out" I'm sorry, but at this point, it sounds like "pretty much never" because of simply how ambitious that new map is VS our resources. That's without mentioning that as far as porting goes, I'm 90% certain I could do it without even leaving the Dream Maker - it's not a massive code change, it's a hue/saturation adjustment.

1. IIRC we SPECIFICALLY try to stay away from transhumanism because it's a fucking mess, implications wise. 2. Code wise, this MIGHT be a tad complicated, AND it would also be used to make abusive IPCs (as I'm almost certain that you can't make a prosthetic attachable to organics but not shell). ALSO there IS already a "prosthetic" available that's EMP-proof: it's called "getting the geneticist to make a pseudo-clone of you using a protohuman and your genes and using it's limbs as replacements" But yeah. Long of the short, unlikely to happen. Who knows, though.

So. I was working on trying to get an orange Skrell, right? Well Skrells are blue by default. And so I need to tweak the color through unexpected colors to get what I want, and even then it's way too pale. The alien sprites could probably benefit from at LEAST being color neutral, if not white.
