Marking as Processing until a Wiki page is made.
-
Worked on projects, yes. But I'm not sure if there's a precedent on NT accepting extracorporate employees. And there's the question of whether or not this is relevant without code changes. If it's not, I'll move it to the Suggestions and Ideas subforum. If it is, it'll need more discussion and fleshing out.

Alright, now that I have the power to do so, I give you two options: Mark the thread as "Accepted" and archive it, but do not add a wiki page. You are free to distribute information about it, but it stays a relatively minor thing. Mark the thread as "Processing" and we work together towards determining how influential this group is and then create a Community Wiki page. Which one will you pick?

Whether or not it's implemented mechanically on the server, this is now canon. Marking as processing until a Wiki page is made.

The Providence Foundation
Killerhurtz replied to Synnono's topic in Lore Canonization Applications Archive
So. I've been put in charge of Lore Canonizations, and I officially approve this - marking as processed until a wiki page is made. -
No. If you want, we can write lore stating that it's not true magic in the purest sense but extremely advanced technology of some sort. But wizard is staying >:c

Why the hell does everyone hate clowns so much? We have rules for a reason, people. Chucklefucking wouldn't happen.

I love this! There's only one detail though: IIRC the lore, so far, has not proven that there was any Bluespace sentients. But that's literally the only bone I have to pick with this. Everything else makes sense and is valuable. -
I want in! I'm probably going to ruin everything by not knowing how it works, but I want in!

How much do the Alien races weigh on average?
Killerhurtz replied to Dea Tacita's topic in Answered Questions
Alright - I don't own any of the species, but here's an insight as to what I believe is: All organics species have a similar density. Of course, this means that Skrell are indeed lighter because they're shorter in general. Unathi may be a little bit on the heavier side (especially the larger specimens), while Tajara can vary, depending on how much of their body volume is hair. IPCs, though - they're probably quite heavy since they most likely have an endoskeleton made of steel (though arguably, with materials science in 2457, it might not impossible to make high-strength thin steel tubes with a density on-par with bone and extreme structural strength) and a silicon brain, along with large amounts of servos and such (though I'm pretty sure the power cell that's inserted during construction is also not very light). But that depends on how the IPC lore will go. So that's my insight, I'll summon the lore owners for each species for you. -
That, and that's without mentioning the dubious morality of deconstructing an active, "living" posibrain.
-
I just noticed another itsy bitsy issue that might need code to be corrected. The server rejects any age range outside of 17-99 IIRC.
-
So, I just had an idea. The only way to late-join is with posibrains - robotics spawn with one, and that's often not enough (if they think to even activate it). So how about this: all ghosted players, 10 minutes after their death, have an option to interact with a new machine, the "Posibrain Chute". Basically, instead of waiting for a posibrain to be activated/made then activated, ghosts have the opportunity to activate a chute that dispenses them, automatically, as an active posibrain (of course they can delay this until they see a roboticist in the lab). Thoughts?

Temporary lock down the Suggestions & Ideas subforum
Killerhurtz replied to Killerhurtz's topic in Archive
Sprites is still server work related unless they're provided (and even then generally sprites are useless without the code that calls to them). Rule questions can go in general questions, lore related can go in Lore Canonization Applications. And I personally take offense at saying clowns don't require action >:c But yeah. That's the gist of it. I was just throwing it out there - for what doesn't need any actual server code change, there's other subforums for it. -
That's entirely fair then. I see nothing wrong with this, even though I disagree with the "it exists because it's been used already". Using that as an excuse could get out of hand really fast. But as I said, it's not an issue here. Just another somewhat shady organization.

The way I saw it, Aurora was a Plasma Research station. As in - yes, they can use the plasma they get to do experiments - but the goal of the experiments themselves are to create more plasma. Which can succeed several ways. But yeah, that's the long of the short.

Serv's Moderator Application
Killerhurtz replied to Serveris's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
Welp. When Serv gets approved, I'm totally going to start a good-cop-bad-cop. I feel like he's my antithesis as a mod. It's a good thing. -
Cobracoco007 Dionea Application V1
Killerhurtz replied to cobracoco007's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
No feedback. You can post a link to your application once per round. I'll notify the relevant parties once you manage to acquire feedback. -
I'll be honest here. I don't know if this still up for application, but this group just feels a lot like space illuminati. I don't like it.

I like the concept, but unfortunately I can't see it being implemented for two reasons: One, Aurora's a Research station. Unless we change it to be a more general production station (it's been suggested, and while I'm completely FOR the concept there's been quite a lot of vocal opposition against it), there's going to be security risks so massive in research data leaks that it makes no sense to allow it. Two, it makes the legality of things a bit more complicated, without mentioning DO action being even tougher to look into. Everyone being part of NanoTrasen makes it simple: if it's against company policy, DOs can act upon it. If it's actively illegal, security and Biesel law deal with it. But with other companies? It would stir some corporate political shitstorms, DOs wouldn't be as effective on these people as they aren't actually NT employees, and the liability of any legal accidents would be harder to separate: does it befall on NT or the company whose employee it is to deal with it? And so on.
