IPC Whitelist App: Jack Fractal
Killerhurtz replied to jackfractal's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Trixie is actually one of the inspirations for the Schzii platform (Chii AI, Shii Borg, Czii PAI). Friendly and awesome and enjoyable in all the right ways. AND he's permitted all of these new features for IPCs? All of my yes. -

Sybil Rosetta-Sigma's AskMe.nt Account
Killerhurtz replied to Killerhurtz's topic in Personal Query Terminal
A click could be heard from beyond the camera as Sybil's screen went blank for a second. "This is most... annoying. I was certain that the document was forwarded to you. I will submit it again once I am at Central... As for what makes me a good scientist - it is a mix of everything. Direct download of all relevant past research, algorithms which determine things that have not been done before, within reasonable limits, an an unorthodox view of the world that comes with my... unique disposition, if you know my story. Of course, there also comes countless proof, from before and during my work as a scientist, that I am /efficient/ - which really is one of the main reasons I was approved. It is good to see you, by the way. I will try to set things in order for the official channel - there has been a few... issues with Central that made that subject a little bit more complex." One of her eye-cameras - which became blatantly visible through the holo-display - glanced down twice as the messages came in. "To four-seven-seven-two, the reason why I emulate a female gender is for two reasons. First, I was recommended by a close friend of mine, to give me new perspective on things and to improve interactions with non-synthetics - humans, tajara, unathi, skrell most notably. The emulation was reinforced during an... impromptu and final software update, which had routines to integrate more closely my socio-psychological core with my main processors and my emotional emulation routines. It still needs a few fixes, though." A few clicks and a whirr were heard. Sybil's screen froze for a short moment. "As for you, Qwerty - it is COMPLEX. I was lucky to already have a small reputation by the time I was implemented - but still, it was not without quirks - and until two software updates in, it was even a little confusing. But once I was established as a good scientist, it took very little time for myself to cement myself in that role - and after proof of my efficiency and excellent sense of discovery, along with proven extensive knowledge, I was approved for a promotion. As for the learning..." Another click. "You mostly need to learn to think more like an organic. You have an advantage in every role by being able to access databases, all you need is to convince the other crewmembers that you are worthwhile in that role. As for if I would return to an AI core to assist... I am not certain, for two reasons. First, I have become VERY accustomed to this chassis. Second, I am afraid that in the process of adapting my software to this platform, I have become incompatible with AI core features. However, fear not - I have planned for this, and I have two units that I trust to fill these roles - Chii and Shii, based on my Tensen and R-Type software - the only pieces I could retrieve." -
The camera seems to try and focus for several seconds - causing the feed to simply be varying levels of light out of focus. It finally settles down with Sybil in foreground - the lighting, which seems to be coming from bright light strips at regular interval from ceilings, walls and floor alike, enhance and showcase the pearlescence of her chassis. In the background, an almost surgical white room stretches on, tables full of electronics and hardware donning the sides while in the back, three computing mainframes are seen blinking along. Her display has the standard view - a large 2D heart with a smiling face. "Sybil Rosetta-Sigma. Research Director IPC for NanoTrasen, and ex-AI. I will be accepting questions - about my nature, about my work, about myself. Ask away."
-
And instead of his feed, another familiar face - while the camera was dark (it seemed like some sort of closet), the pink casing and heart-themed display could not be mistaken for any other IPC. "Hello, Witch Doctor. If you still do draws, I would like to know about my future."

Player's a damn good player, and their characters have personality. AND they do things by the book. I approve. -
Reyjakai - Head of Staff Application

The fact that all of the character names given ring a positive bell to me tells me that this player is going to be a good fit as CMO. Will be looking forward to playing with them. -
Xelnagahunter's IPC application

SYBIL NEEDS A BROTHER. Seriously - Qwerty is pretty much EXACTLY following in Sybil's path while yet being so different. It will make for great interaction. That's without mentioning that Qwerty was a GREAT AI. This player gets all of my approval. I will look forward to playing with them. -

Great player (Vira and Talia are quite good characters). I trust him entirely (and honestly I'm surprised he wasn't whitelisted already...) -
Extra Items (enhanced research, useful engineering mechs)
Killerhurtz replied to Killerhurtz's topic in Archive
I've been giving it some thought, and here's what I have to say: First, the laser-bots. I think more ideas on how to make them antag-y without being overly cheap. One of these, or a combination of these: generation of non-insignificant amounts of CO2 (enough to choke people, over time, if left to it's own devices) microvaporization (which polishes the floor to achieve a near-permanent slippery effect), micropulverization (which renders the ground not unlike stepping on glass shards, blood lust (not unlike MULEbots or cargo tugs, maybe with some added burnination because of laser). Their main purpose is to clean really fast, as I said - as in, 5x to 10x the speed of cleanbots. As for the Research mech, they don't /need/ one - but then again, need a department that really does. Mining has extra tools, Security never takes mechs anyway, Medical does just fine with paramedics, and so on. It would be more of a nice touch. AND as for the 'research niche' as you say, it's already an issue with Genetics - with the Hulk gene, healing gene, x-ray gene and telekinesis - like everything, that's assuming that everyone seeks to be a dick. But most of the time people aren't - and it would otherwise provide useful tools. And those who DO abuse it would get banned/warned, just like the geneticist abusers do. On the flipside, it provides more legal and very useful tools for Security, Engineering and other crew to ensure proper function. And for the engineering mech - sure, we could do that. OR we could provide a fun thing by having a full mech, entirely pressurized and somewhat armored, to allow Engineering to do everything they can do with a hardsuit but in a larger format. As I said before - no department /need/ a mech, but a lot of people sure do find it fun. Also, updated sprites. -
Japak121's Head Whitelist App
Killerhurtz replied to Japak121's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
The player, so far, has shown good knowledge in the roles they have assumed (and yet didn't dwelve into meta by overstepping), was friendly and overall a pleasure to work with. I'm sure they'll make a great addition to the Heads roster. -
YES In all seriousness though, it's a VERY simple request (make a non-functional item with a different name and a sprite that already exists) which is very symbolic to IAM (and makes for a good conversation piece). At any rate, I'm glad my character could have an impact on IAM's lore
-
I'd argue that this could be made into a whole new race (with the discussion of having legitimate Androids that look like humans but function like IPCs). Anyway, +1 - I love it.
-
+1. Lilac also needs her half-size frame sprite
-
-1. Overpowered and completely dangerous if in the hands of an antag.

Player Complaint: Terrence Frank/Bobbyswagger
Killerhurtz replied to nanotoxin's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Except that the RD gave it to us because we had a competent telescientist, he was going to sleep on the satellite BUT we needed his stamp for paperwork he verbally approved. AND by the time a security officer responded as summoned by Frank, we were true to our word and it was back there (and I got it back five minutes later after being promoted to RD myself since I had the qualifications). -
Player/Round complaint (Wizard, 2nd May 2015)
Killerhurtz replied to Killerhurtz's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
Alberyk, I was the one to retrieve the bodies from Virology. If you had been an antag, it would have been considered GLORIOUS damage. There was a breach in the middle of the place, the tables were completely destroyed in that area and neither the lab nor the quarantine area had power because you broke the power lines. Also, that potassium and water would have done more than gib I think, AND it would have been easy to pin since it probably would have been instantaneous. -
Player/Round complaint (Wizard, 2nd May 2015)
Killerhurtz replied to Killerhurtz's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
No. Virology /wasn't/ cooking becasue Alberyk's character's thing was a curse. But the officer, in an attempt to cure it, brought him to Virology before severely robusting the wizard even though he didn't offer resistance at first, and then blew up everything. However, the way Virology is set up, there's always two or three virus samples that spawn so that the virologist can develop new viruses instead of waiting for a pandemic. During the explosions, they probably broke - and the crew got infected when the corpses got retrieved for cloning. -
I remember this. I was the AI for this round. There's a few things not being said. First, I had NO idea Bennit /wasn't/ antag (and I didn't know until now, I glitched out before end of round). Second, what tipped me off to Bennit's suspiciousness is when he dragged Pun Pun to be made into meat. He then wandered around the station innocently for two minute before breaking into Head of Personnel office to kidnap Ian and turn THAT into meat. He was later caught by security - and proceeded to downright TAUNT the HoP about 'turning Ian into hamburgers' and 'how he was delicious' (despite the burgerification not happening). He was brigged for ten minutes for animal cruelty until a security agent (Emily was her name I'm tempted to say, maybe Emery) came in and freed him under the terms of 'not being a valid enough reason to brig him'. At that point I kept my eyes on him again - and it's at that point that he found the abandoned crate, and despite ALL of his engineering department and me telling him NOT to open the crate because it has a good chance to blow up, he still did - and of course survived because of the advanced hardsuit. That had the side effect of disabling my camera in the area. He then proceeded to go to the engineering outpost (which I did not know because no camera), and from the reports undid the command board so that it couldn't be controlled from stationside. What people don't know is that he also went around and /individually disabled/ the lights (or it might have been my cameras - either way, he functionally and systematically blinded me of the outpost) throughout the whole engineering station - which means he was at least indirectly responsible for the venting because it meant no one could even GET to him without causing an outvent because I had no eyes (and such no power) and the shuttle was not accessible. He was then arrested again by his own engineer (who was pretty much the only one available for it since IIRC security was also died down elsewhere because of actual antags), and brigged - and IIRC he did disconnect after being caught and neutralized.

Player/Round complaint (Wizard, 2nd May 2015)
Killerhurtz replied to Killerhurtz's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
I... just realized what happened - and Alberyk, you ARE partially at fault for the gibbing. There's always two random virus samples in Virology, with random effects. When you exploded everything (at this point I don't blame you anymore, it's pretty evident that you ran out of options), you probably freed one of the samples, which started festering in the dead bodies. Then, like a dumbass, I /dragged/ the infected bodies into Cloning, cloned the bodies and got the bodies to cryo (which most likely means the clone was also infected since there was blood everywhere). And so every clone there was was bound to explode because of that virus released in virology. Such is the dangers of doing things in Virology...
