  1. If you reread Nienna's initial comment you will see that they requested that the blob spawn be retuned to account for player count and department presence - it has nothing to do with eliminating blobs across the board, or 'neutering' a ship event. As someone who plays during these hours and also plays an engineering character with regularity I only want more opportunities to RP that are not disrupted by events that weigh unfavorably on low player counts. I fail to understand how you can justifiably make these arguments that there isn't an issue when you admitted that you do not play regularly during these hours and thus don't witness the inconvenience firsthand, and I don't really appreciate that you're trying to otherize players during these hours by using words like "chairRP" to detract from our desire to simply enjoy RP without round-destroying events (on an HRP server), and insinuate that a "band of lowpop players" have it out for the remainder of the community. It's unnecessary.
  2. The initial purpose of this thread was to suggest changing the weight of spawn of the blob to offset the burden on deadpop players. This is the primary issue - they should not be spawning with such regularity that they are hurting lower pop rounds.
  3. The premise of engineering busywork is fine when you have a full manifest and can reasonably handle scenarios such as a blob without much risk to life, limb and RP. That is not the case during deadpop hours where the crew number less than ten, medical are absent and engineers are limited in number. Deadpop blobs do nothing to serve RP besides completely halting the round for everyone until the blob is dealt with, and can be potentially round-ending if there are injuries. As someone who routinely plays with Nienna during these hours it is frustrating to have enjoyable RP experiences during deadpop only to then have them derailed entirely for half an hour or more just to deal with a mechanic that really only serves to keep players busy.
  4. While I think that Eridani as whole isn't as structurally sound as some of the other human lore systems when it comes to total coherence and depth as a faction I think that this touch up you've done will give it enough life that it'll be a consistent source of good inspiration until the much deeper issues with the faction can be tackled. We've not always necessarily agreed on things in the past but I think that this is objectively a good thing to push forward and I'm appreciative that Eridani is getting a little more love from players. I also agree with Faye in that the planets need newer, more unique names - even if they're not deliberately called those names by the ECF on paper. Names from West or Central African deities maybe? Shot in the dark.
  5. As someone who has played dregs on and off for the last two years, whose main character leading up to the NBT was married to a dreg, and has generally understood the themes of Eridani culture through the lens of being PoC and living in Detroit I'm generally in agreement with most of these additions. They are not drastic in much of any way in that they just codify things that Eridani players have been doing for some time on their own, including myself.
  6. I 100% cosign this addition. After witnessing a round where a retinue of cocky Legionnaires boarded the Horizon in full battle rattle without authorization I believe it's imperative that the Horizon have some sort of safe measure to prevent ghost rollers from simply coming aboard whenever they please and disrupting rounds unceremoniously.
  7. IR closed pending administrative action.
  8. This report and investigation are being closed due to OOC concerns. This thread is now locked.
  9. Please bring the original Janitor uniform back for both Idris and NT, with the solid colors. It looks much better than the purple-ized variant.
  10. Considering the already small pool of Command players that regularly play and then reduce that number by half to players who are competent enough to guide new players and direct rounds in an engaging and positive manner and you barely have enough of a roster to consider opening them to antagonist roles without severe power imbalances. Antag command prior to its removal was remembered for being grossly unfair to the average player, command tools and access giving them a vast advantage at the gate outside of given antagonist tools. The reality that most current antagonists often rely on usage of the spare ID for access/soft power over the station and command already have much of that soft power tells you that it would be immediately abused in favor of stacking the odds, which only become increasingly unfair when there's little staff to oppose them. It's set up to enable powergaming and a grossly unfair power dynamic that doesn't add anything to a round besides frustration. We do not need more issues with antag rounds that we already have, especially considering the lax criteria that is required to acquire a command WL, going into the NBT. -1.
  11. Your reasoning at best is a flimsy attempt at promoting hamfisted, frustrating drama in a round that was already lacking depth because you caused meaningless damage without interacting with the station crew whatsoever. There was virtually no narrative provided as to why you sabotaged T-Comms or blew up the elevators because you refused to engage players and develop meaningful escalation - not a single person could tell me who you were or what you wanted, only that there was an empty drop pod and substantial damage across the station. Even if I did fire on you I was well within my rights to do so considering you were an intruder stealing things from my office, and I still immediately surrendered upon being lethally fired upon despite not pursuing you into the tunnel and you deciding to come back in to shoot with lethals. Your interrogation went nowhere because I could not provide answers from an OOC or IC perspective of what you wanted - you were asking for something that I literally could not provide at the time. Making nebulous threats and then acting on them with hamfisted reasoning because the CMO followed protocol after everyone else had already put two and two together and knew an intruder was on board added nothing to the round other than ending mine before I could meaningfully contribute, and providing more stress to a round that ultimately meant nothing from a narrative perspective because your only engagement with the crew was threatening the CMO and killing me after. Having your own reasons for doing things or there not being rules for certain technicalities does not excuse poor antag play. At no point did I feel like anything you did during the round added to the atmosphere or narrative besides causing problems for the sake of your own entertainment, leaving everyone else to pick up after your mess while having not gained anything.
  12. BYOND Key: Sycmos Staff BYOND Key: Garnascus Game ID: ce1-bYXA Reason for complaint: Garnascus completely failed to uphold what is already a minimal standard for roleplay or reasonable and engaging antag behavior during a Loner round where they completely avoided station crew for a stark majority of the round and only committed to interacting with players when it came to kidnapping and killing my character within an unacceptable amount of time of me joining the round. I had been ghosted from round start to roughly 1:30, having observed Garnascus spend the majority of his time on station avoiding station crew by stalking maintenance tunnels and providing no roleplay opportunity besides sabotaging telecomms and blowing an enormous hole through the surface elevator lobby. When it came to finally joining I caught him in my office within ten to fifteen minutes of arriving on station, having attempted to steal several items from the office including Ian. Being equipped with a disruptor I attempted to discourage him with two stun blasts that missed, only to be met with lethal laser fire and threats of being killed if the nearby CMO informed security that he was kidnapping me (to which staff was already aware that he was on board and caused station damage). Garn then proceeded to restrain me with handcuffs, lock me to a bed so that I was completely immobile and blandly interrogate me about command account details that I did not know ICly or OOCly. Upon the station raising to Blue Alert Garn assumed that this meant that the CMO had informed them of my kidnapping (which is a wild assumption to make considering that everyone on station knew by now he'd blew things up, after avoiding them all shift), and killed me as I was totally restrained. Nothing about his behavior has informed me that he had any interest in portraying an HRP antag, only going as far as to entertain himself without any concern for the remainder of players involved. As staff and above else a Headmin Garn should absolutely know better than to treat playing antag like this. Evidence/logs/etc: Additional remarks: None.
  13. It is not fair under any scenario that a player who has more time to play has the possibility to monopolize a slot for a significant duration of a day when those who have less time to play are shut out repeatedly and thus denied the opportunity altogether. Besides leveling the playing field for people with less time to play during the day, it will also work to break up in-game cliques by forcing people to interact with new characters in their departments on a more regular basis. I can't see a downside to this that isn't strictly from a personal point of view.

Overview of the Incident: I arrived late into a shift on the NSS Aurora to having been informed by cyborg Zapper that an officer had been detained and charged with i208 Assault and i110 Slander. After having individually interviewed each of the staff involved and found that all parties behaved poorly I decided that I was going to suspend all three for the remainder of the shift, but the transfer shuttle was summoned. I opted instead to have them leave their equipment at the surface checkpoint and end their shift a few minutes early. This Incident Report is being filed to follow through with a more thorough investigation by CCIA and to see proper adjudication by the company.
