  2. This application is solid. Accepted. Feel free to reach out to me or either of my deputies if you have any questions.
  3. Hey! Sorry it's taken me a while to get to this. I don't have any questions for you, the application seems solid. Feel free to reach out to either me or my deputies if you have any questions. Accepted.
  4. Looks good! Application accepted. Feel free to reach out to either me or my deputies with any questions.
  5. You mention this here, but then in your backstory, I don't see any mentions of Auk'lins Clan, Parents, important people to his development, etc. I would like you to expand your backstory to include things like that, because, as you mentioned, clans are ingrained and important. Any specific people? If so, how did they change his outlook on life? One more question. Does Auk'lin have any hobbies?
  6. Hey! Sorry this took a bit, I’m out if the country currently and my service is kinda spotty for doing more than just typing on discord. As of now, the unathi team has already received a complaint regarding your behavior in OOC, and the behavior of some of your characters. Due to this, I do not feel comfortable trusting you with a whitelist currently. My fear is that I will grant it to you, then have to manage warning and or stripping it from you due to your behavior. application denied, you are free to reapply after 2 weeks.
  7. Much Improved. Application accepted.
  8. Hello, and thanks for applying! After looking over your application, I think I'd like you to expand upon your backstory a little more, right now it's not bad, and would work fine once you have the whitelist, but doesn't go into enough detail for the purposes of this application. How you want to expand on this backstory is up to you, a few ideas are expanding on her clan, immediate family, and religion's role in her youth. That's all for now!
  9. A few questions that I wanted to ask before thinking more on this application: 1) While you have been a boon to the mod team, I am curious as to how you think you'll handle taking creative direction from someone else(in this case, lancer). You seem very passionate about lore, and write a lot about things that interest you, but I'm unsure how you'd react to having your ideas shut down, dismissed, or massively tweaked by the species maintainer above you, and I think it's an important part of being on the team. 2) What are your thoughts on cooperating with other teams, even in a case where synthlore may not even be involved? 3) Piggybacking off the last question, where do you see the boundaries of "that's another team/maintainers responsibility" starting, and if so how would you respect said boundaries? Feel free to reach out to me for any clarification, I just nearly a full 13 hours of driving so I might not be making the most sense, and good luck on your application.
  10. Hey! Sorry this took so long to get to, I just got back home after spending a week in the woods. You're a solid Roleplayer and this application reflects that. Therefore, it is accepted. Feel free to reach out to me or my deputies with any questions you may have. Accepted.
  11. Hey! Sorry it's been a few days, Finals week has been kicking my ass. This application will hopefully be handled by tomorrow. Rusting already asked a bunch of questions so I'll keep mine minimal. 1. What hobbies does T'sanis have? What does he like to do in his free time? 2. What are T'sanis's thoughts on the other(mostly hegemonic) Unathi that also work within Hephaestus? Does he face discrimination? 3. Lastly, how do you see this character developing while playing him on the Horizon? Do you expect his position to change? Or his thoughts on his commune, the Hegemony, or other factions? 4. What does T'sanis think about the corporations as a whole?
  12. Hi! Sorry for taking a while, this past week was chaos for me. This app seems pretty solid, so we'll accept it. Just keep in mind Sexism within Unathi society is not as strong as you may think, with the Hegemony having a Female Spymaster, High Speaker, and even female Kataphracts. Beyond that, if you have any further questions feel free to reach out to me or my deputies, and I hope you enjoy playing your lizard!
  13. Could you expand on this section? What things might you do differently in an example situation? That's all I have for now!
  14. After deliberating, I've decided to accept this application. Congratulations and welcome to the team!
  15. After thinking about this for the past week, I've decided to go with another applicant for the deputy position. That said though, I hope you will take some of your ideas and make them into lore canonization applications.
  16. Hi! And Thanks for applying. I have a bunch of questions I want to ask. 1) How patient would you say you are when waiting on other people? Specifically, waiting on other people to finish their responsibilities/writing in a project? 2) How well do you take criticism? Do you struggle with anything specific when it comes to your work being criticized? 3) As a Lore Writer, even a deputy, you'll be expected to contribute to team projects as well, so writing for corporations, biesel, etc. Do you feel comfortable doing this? 4) Lastly, when it comes to writing, how do you fair about writing things you don't enjoy in the moment?

  18. There is now a unathi deputy slot open. I am looking for an active player who can work with any of the following; write for a prompt, generate their own unique ideas based on current lore, help correct inconsistencies in the lore, or any combination of the above. Above all else though I am looking for someone who is a team player, who can work well in a small team with others, and who I can rely on as a deputy. Please follow the application format, as well as answering all of the following questions/requests: 1) Write a wiki page addition. This can be of any length, from a single paragraph addition to a whole new page. In this section please include at least a paragraph explaining your reasoning for the addition, why you think it’s important, and how it can be used to further the lore of Unathi. 2) What piece of Unathi lore do you like the least? Why? Should you get the position of deputy, would you work to change it? How? 3) Have you ever disagreed with a decision made by the Unathi Team in the past year? If so, what was the decision? Why did you disagree? How do you think we could have done better? 4) Give a rough outline for a Unathi-centric event arc to be run on the Horizon that pushes forward an aspect of Unathi lore.
  19. This looks good! Gecko already asked the two questions I would have, and the rest of this application is solid. Accepted. Feel free to message me or my deputy with any questions you may have.
  20. You hit most of the cultural differences between Unathi and Human, but don't really go into how those differences would change your RP from a human character to a Unathi Character. Expanding upon that would be useful, as an example, how would T'izch Dzichs roleplay differently during a situation differently knowing the code of honor, compared to a human? Where was the clan before migrating to the queendom? Were they vassals of a traditionalist lord? Were they nobility or peasantry? Rural or Urban? Who made the decision to turn to the Queendom? Did the entire clan or only part of it? We'd like to you expand on this part more. Noting any family members, clan members, or ancestors who had an impact on T'izch's childhood, values, and upbringing; then how those people shaped her. You talk about how Unathi are community driven in your application but don't include community here, arguably where it's most important. That's it for specifics about the backstory, but we have a few more general questions/requests. 1. Religion. You barely mention religion at all in this application, and it is especially lacking in the backstory. Please expand upon T'izch's religion, thoughts on it, and general beliefs, and also what role religion plays for her clan. 2. Does T'zich have any hobbies? 3. What are T'zich's thoughts on the Contact War, Hegemony, Traditionalist Coalition, and in general, the rest of Unathi lore outside the Queendom? 4. How does T'zich feel about the rest of the spur, and working under the banner of the PMCG around many different species? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That's all the questions we have for now, feel free to reach out to either me or Gecko if you have any questions for us. We can't give you all the answers but we can certainly point you in the right direction. Don't feel a need to immediately answer all these questions, take all the time that you need; we don't want to overwhelm you.
  21. Another question I had - how long do you plan to stay in the writer slot?
  22. I'm fine with stepping back should I become Head writer. Over the past year, the Unathi team has put out 5 major pieces of lore, which I think is a solid, easily achievable number, and I wouldn't like to increase that number of updates. I think I've only been having a manic pace with my writing because, over my time on the team, I've had to write 4 of them or they wouldn't have happened. By ascending to head writer, and taking on another deputy, I think the work can be more evenly divided, and I am able to take a step back and work significantly less while the team is able to still churn out a solid 5 major pieces of lore a year. Ideally, I'd only be writing 1-2 major pieces in the coming year should I get this position. As for "whipping" my deputies into sharing the load, I don't think that's going to be an issue, but it's defiantly something I'm fine with doing should the need arise. More importantly, I think there needs to be better organization at the writer level, where I'm constantly checking in with my deputies and have an easily readable spreadsheet with the current projects, and who is writing them to ensure that projects are closed out. Below is a screenshot of a spreadsheet I made last august that's currently pinned in the Unathi Coord channel, where spoilers have been cropped. If I made the decision to replace them, I think I'd replace them with different cross-species interactions, or change them completely while keeping the same two species interacting. With the example of Dominian Unathi, the current lore will probably be totally replaced with something brand new, focusing on Unathite culture within the Empire and the role they play, rather than the "oh yea they're around and have pirates" that the lore currently is. If I wished to remove Dominian Unathi entirely, I'd replace it with another piece of cross-species lore if possible, possible meaning it would be better than what we currently have and make sense in our lore. I can't think of anything for this that would be better, which is why I don't want to remove Dominian Unathi, just heavily rework/replace them. The same goes for the K'lax. Neither of these cross-species interactions are perfect, but since we're not building our lore from scratch, instead building off the work of 8 years of other writers, sometimes we have to take what we get and do the best we can with it. I think we've done that for the K'lax and are doing that for Dominian Unathi. I think for me, species arcs are a good tool to use, but in moderation and only pushing forward the narrative slightly. In my experience, they're the best for player engagement while still moving the narrative forward, but have potential issues when they're given supreme importance. The biggest drawback I've noticed is the players during an event doing something unplanned for, or outright stupid, that creates issues from a writing point of view despite being canon. I don't want to have to be either constantly railroading or retconning things done during events to make sure there are no issues. With that said, a few specific ideas I have are; an arc centering around Gakal'zaal, where the crew needs to go to the planet to research some signals detected from the system and find themselves caught inbetween the DPRA and Hegemony as a crisis starts, with some corporate interests on the side, a corporate humanitarian mission to Moghes at the behest of Hephaestus after our capstone project is completed, where the crew gets to view the new situation in the Hegemony and do some humanitarian stuff. Those are just two, but I'm sure Gecko has several as well. My plans for Gakal'zaal are to just expand on the Unathi there in every form possible. Culture, conflicts, the status of their citizenship, and maybe even a few articles where the DPRA and Hegemony meet to decide the fate or some Unathi, with the Hegemony taking them in as refugees. Gakal'zaal offers a unique view on the tradition vs progress conflict, where traditional unathi resist the DPRA occupation, and more progressive unathi may be more accepting of their new "lords", even assisting them like the Sinta Volunteer Forces. Also just more lore about exactly how Tajara and Unathi cultures clash on the planet. Still, I wouldn't put it very high up on my priority list, with other projects being significantly more important in my eyes.
  23. This has me incredibly conflicted, in a way that surprises me very much. It's been a joy to write with you as Lore Master, but I have a few concerns about you becoming the Unathi Lore Writer. I think my biggest concern has to do with your writing and prioritization. I think I notice it most in your regions doc, where the regions themselves are barely longer than paragraphs, and don't contain much that would allow for backgrounds to flourish. Given you were loremaster at the time of writing, I understand you might not have felt compelled to write more and would expand them should you become Unathi Writer. More importantly, I have concerns about your apparent prioritization that I've observed while on the team. It seems to me that you'll only write significantly about topics that interest you, which is something I feel to have been noticing more of as of late. I think the biggest example of this recently has been many of our current team projects, where you wrote a massive amount for the Trasens, all the while; the Orion Update was only really contributed to by me and Brotendo, still not done, the (I don't want to spoil stuff so I'm not mentioning the specific doc here, but I'll let you know to which I am referring) was once again mostly me writing(outside of the species specific content), also still not done, the SCC lore being only several paragraphs despite its importance, which we haven't even started on, and the whole idea for Trade/Economic lore we were looking at, spearheaded by canon, seems to have been forgotten by the side of the road. This is not to say the lore you have written and published is bad or unimportant, just that there were significantly more important things or lore projects already in motion that you did not contribute to, did not stay on top of, or put aside to focus on writing lore that you personally enjoyed. I also understand there may be things going on behind the scenes that I am unaware of, such as what happened with me and the relay event plans; this is just based on what I can observe as a deputy, and may be a complete misunderstanding. Unathi Lore is in dire need of work in many aspects, and I'm afraid that many of these aspects may be forgotten or brushed off, assigned to me or gecko to complete with minimal input from you besides editing. I've spent my time on the team(when I wasn't on leave for a solid 3 months) doing the work of 2 people, being the primary person writing and pushing for the vast majority of Unathi Lore Development over the past year, and that's not something I want to continue to do as deputy. I am concerned that should you get the writer position however, that is what I will be doing once again. I utterly hate giving criticism like this, because firstly I sound like an entitled dick, and secondly, despite everything I still think you've done an incredible job as Loremaster, especially with our transition to the Horizon. I don't mean to sound harsh or vindictive about your behavior, but from what I've observed, there's the potential for significant issues. I also have a few questions for you. 1. Unathi lore under Haydizzle has had a system where if the two deputies were in agreement, they could over-rule a non-WL decision made by the Writer, to act as a check against the writer. Would you keep this system in place? 2. What do you think the most important current project is for Unathi Lore? 3. Should you become Unathi Species Writer, would you apply for Deputy Loremaster once Lucaken takes over? 4. Could you expand on why you miss developing the lore for a specific species? I'll probably have more questions later, but this is a good start.
