Simple suggestion, if you run into someone while you are wearing a hardsuit and they are not, on harm intent, you bowl into them sending them flying in a forward direction away from you. where they are then winded. Reasoning: I think it would be a cool addition. Second Reasoning: I want to run into someone in a hardsuit and watch them go flying.

Why I won't play Vampire, and why you shouldn't either.
Triogenix replied to restricted's topic in General
Okay, I have an issue with this. While you are correct that you don't have control over many things that happen to your character, up to death, the difference with vamp in my eyes is that thrall, leaves players with no choice, instead of the more binary choice more common with other antagonist interactions. If another antagonist wants you to do something, the best way they have to force you to do it, is to threaten you with death, by whatever means. This still leaves characters and players a choice though, to die, or to do as they're told, and there are things a character will die over. Thrall removes this binary choice and forces your character, and you as a player, to be fully subservient to the vampire with threat of OOC consequence should you not. It is possible that a merc team might take you hostage, and just leave you cuffed to a chair with no choice? Yes, but in that situation your character isn't making any decisions, decisions are made for them. They aren't actively doing anything, and in my opinion, if a character is actively doing something, the player should be able to determine that active thing. Getting forced to actively do something, with literally no choice, is horrible, and should be possible. Even CC orders offer more choice then being ordered around as a thrall. Sorry if I rambled a bit, but I hope I made sense. A vampire thralling someone removes all choice that player and character get, and still forces the thrall to act actively, whereas everything you mentioned is just random passive happenstance. -
Okay, so I'm super tired but want to post this tonight before I forget. This is my feedback for you Good things: Playing along with Antagonists, I've noticed you tend to play along with most antagonists and let them do their thing, while still also in some way resisting them slightly, but I do also think you need to work on where you draw your line, making it clearer so antagonists know which line to cross to get a fight going, and not just constantly rolling over for them. Improv, you do very good improv, and it's refreshing to see. Bad things: Communication, in the round I played with your HoS, Zohair, your communication was awful, and communication is one of the most important things I think when it comes to command staff. Before the Liason essentially took control of me and the rest of the Zavod boys in sec, everyone was spinning their wheels waiting to hear anything remotely order wise from you, other then incredibly vauge "interpose them" or "hold them", with no reason given as to why. There wasn't even a strategy formulated to take down the Ninja's while they were teleporting around, until me, butter and clem jury rigged one together ourselves. OOC Behavior, your OOC behavior isn't exactly good, I recall you talking about forum feedback on discord, complaining that people were only commenting because they are mad at you, and that it was mostly of non-substance. While I understand how you may feel, I think that complaining about it in a public discord isn't the right move.(If necessary, I can pull logs.) Going off alone, Your HoS tended to do things alot just by themselves, they ran into maints with nothing but a disruptor chasing after Ninja's, with no backup, they negotiated without telling anyone what was happening, and in a merc round I had with you, you essentially completed ignore the gimmick and tried to do your own thing. It can get incredibly frustrating as a subordinate to command when they're off doing things but won't tell you what, or won't involve you. With these things, combined with other behaviors people have outlined earlier in the app, I don't think you're fit as of now to have a command whitelist. You're an amazing RPer and I hope you reapply again in the future once you get a better hang of things, because then I'd give you my full throated support. But for now -1

Myphicbowser's Unathi Deputy Application
Triogenix replied to Myphicbowser's topic in Developer Applications Archives
I was going to ask a few questions about your play as Unathi and other thoughts(I can't remember a time I've seen you play Unathi), but your reaction to the feedback ping gave you is in my eyes completely unacceptable, especially for a role which requires alot of writing and therefore, criticism. If you can't handle someone giving you feedback on a application without doing something like that, I don't think you'll be able to handle the much brasher feedback players regularly give lore staff. -1 -
For me this is slightly confusing, as we already have a solution to not having engineers, borgs/AI. You can ready up as borg, or AI, setup the engine in 10 minutes, cyro and start playing again at the 30 minute mark(30 min if you can't get an admin to remove your respawn timer, which would make this 10x easier). RCON and other engineering stuff isn't required when there's 2 other people on the station. Mechanics aren't an issue as the guide on the wiki is pretty solid at explaining how to setup the SM, and you can literally just follow that. And borgs have all the IC knowledge in the world, and(in my opinion) and designed for and only work well in Lowpop rounds, where slots desperately need to be filled for a short amount of time. So yea, play borgs for the first quarter of a lowpop round for power, or just make an engineering character

Alberyk Deputy Loremaster Application
Triogenix replied to Alberyk's topic in Developer Applications Archives
Not just articles but anything that gets people excited. Like whenever a new planet was added to humanlore you would see 8 new characters all from there and then they'd all disappear in a week. I don't see foundational stuff getting people excited even though it is very necessary. but it's good to hear that you don't think it will be delayed for the teams who require it. The other answers are also satisfactory to me, and soothe alot of my concerns(even if one was just pointing out something I missed). +1 -
Alberyk Deputy Loremaster Application
Triogenix replied to Alberyk's topic in Developer Applications Archives
Alb has maintained and managed what I consider to be the best lore on the server since I joined around of the time of the Blood Moon arc last year, and has continually done enjoyable things with it. I have very little doubt he'd do well in the position. His roadmap and criticisms also give me hope for a better foundation and therefore future of lore. However, I do also have a question to ask about your roadmap. I agree with nearly all of your sentiments that foundations need to be ironed out and spring cleaning must be done on nearly all sections of lore, but I worry at the timeframe. These seem to be long and tedious tasks to complete, not only burning out lorestaff members but also making it so regular players start to lose interest in the lore that's no longer moving forward at a pace they were accustomed to. Do you see these as issues, and if so do you have any plans to combat them? -
Ckey/BYOND Username: Triogenix Position Being Applied For: Wiki Maintainer Have you read the Lore Team Rules and Regulations wiki page?: Yes, as well as the guide to editing page. Past Experiences/Knowledge: Minimal, I've written job descriptions for company I worked at about a year and half ago, but that was not in a wiki setting. I've never worked with any wiki in the past. I know most game mechanics, including those that are more obscure, and have played in every department atleast 10 rounds or more. Examples of Past Work: Pretty much none, all I've ever really done is point out grammatical and spelling mistakes to lore maintainers and writers on the lore disc when reading wiki articles, and make a few suggestions for other things(little blurb to the surgeon page saying autopsies are Investigator's job.) Additional Comments: While I lack any experience at all with wiki maintenance, I eager and willing to learn, and able to devote a large amount of time to doing so. I look forward to any questions you all have!

I think the biggest reason for the radical jump was the trauma he experienced during the contact war, that made him much more open to heretical ideas. He was a nobody in an unfamiliar place after everything he knew was destroyed as a result of atomic fire, and Si'akh gave him a sense of purpose and explanation that filled a void he desperately needed filled which Th'akh was not filling. That appealing aspects, firstly was an explanation as to why everything he knew was destroyed, and purpose in a path to salvation with a reassurance that not is all yet lost. The way the priests gave the sermons of the messiah with their conviction helped him flip over. The hobby he developed first on Moghes was carving little figures from rocks his uncle would bring back from the mines, in the fashion a 4 year old would. He continues to carve whenever he is bored and wants something to do with his hands, or needs to take his mind off of stressing topics, with any material he can find. He's never tried to do it more then a relaxing hobby, but still has a fair number of carvings scattered around his house. His favorite is one he did of a ship he helped build in university made out of wood. Off Moghes, he's found an enjoyment for gardening, he has several basic types of plants and a few more exotic ones in trays around his apartment. He tries to pick plants that remind him of his childhood, so grasses and Moghes wildflowers make up a majority of his plants. He first picked up gardening when he noticed that Hephaestus always had someone put greenery around habitation he was helping to build in the frontier. Hope that answers your questions and happy holidays!

Just axe the station channels from OdinSec headsets, make them only have the ERT channel, same with the chef, bartender, and medical personel. They're who I see do it most often and ensuring they can't hear or communicate with the station will reduce a lot of the issues people seem to have. -
Due to his work already with Hephaestus, he is able to work with and tolerating all types of Sinta. Given the precarious nature of his job, and just having a working visa, he keeps his thoughts and dislikes to himself, so to ensure no fights break out between himself and coworkers. He does this by almost never bringing up religion or background with other Sinta unless he knows they are also Si'akh or very tolerant, avoiding conversations that do bring it up if other Sinta are involved, and deflecting if asked about it himself in a polite way. Of course, should he get angry, or be confronted by another Sinta about his background or religion, these limits he places on himself would likely not be as important in the moment. His thoughts on Hegemony Sinta and Non-Moghean Unathi can boiled down to a general sense of wariness. Over the course of his career with Hephaestus he's worked with some Izweski unathi who has enjoyed working with(keeping his distance though as outlined in the above paragraph), and while he despises the Izweski state, he is not so blinded by his hatred to be unable to see that those making it up are Unathi as well. This applies to those on Ourea as well to him, as he doesn't know much of the democratic elections or uprisings that occurred 2 years in the past. For Dominia, he hasn't interacted with any Sinta from there yet, and sees them similar to the Izweski, Sinta chained to alien influences rather then keeping the traditions of their own. The compact he knows next to nothing about, and as of now does not feel strongly about them. Hope that answers your question!

BYOND Key: Triogenix Character Names: Fezile Burns Izan Estrada Hashim Prruzhulkanich (formly) Vadim Vaziri Species you are applying to play: Unath/Sinta What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Dark Green Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yep. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I think the biggest reason I want to play Unathi is their options for backgrounds. From the Feudal courts of the Hegemony to the struggle of the wasteland, Unathi lore offers me backgrounds to pick from that no other species does. Of course this could be said for nearly any species, just with a few words swapped out. Unathi however also have religious lore that I find to be incredibly interesting, especially those that also tie into history, like Si’akh. They also have an interesting dynamic between the urban centers and rural areas that I wish to explore. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: I think the biggest difference between playing Unathi and Humans can be found on the decrypt citizenship page, under the Izweski Hegemony. There it states that citizenship as understood by the rest of the galaxy is an alien concept to the Izweski. While not the only Unathi faction to pick from, it illustrates well in my eyes how backwards Unathi are compared to humans, still using feudal systems with some modern parts wedged in uncomfortably. What this means for RP is that a Sinta may not understand basic concepts such as voting that come readily to others, and may find basic tasks such as microwaving something difficult if they are new to that type of technology. The other big difference comes in the honor system, while somewhat similar to the human nation of Dominia, Unathi honor is a much more serious topic amongst Sinta, one that can change the fate of clans. Because of this, RP wise a Unathi would be much more careful to strictly follow the codes of honor, should they be part of a clan or wish to be in good standing. Character Name: Vark Tka’zua Please provide a short backstory for this character Vark was hatched male in a traditionalist village just to the west of what would later be called the Torn Cities, in 2436. His father and mother were both peasants, his father working in the mines the village was situated about and his mother around the aquaculture fields in the small lake the village had. Both his parents were Th’akh, and raised Vark much the same. Vark does not remember much of his early life, he knows from his mother that in 2437 at the outbreak of the contact war his father was called to the Levy’s by their lord, one of the 1/4th portion of miners taken. At the age of two, he and his mother were informed of his fathers death at the hands of Hegemony forces. He doesn’t remember much of his reaction. His mothers brother took over teaching the hatchlings about the world. A miner like his father, Vark learned of the Hegemony’s perversions of Unathi culture, the duty one must do for their lord, and the basics of how their town works. At age 3, he remembers watching as the cities to the east went up in nuclear fireballs as the atomic exchange began while playing in the town with other children. He had never been more terrified, running back to his small home where he attempted to ride out the horror of nuclear devastation in their small basement with his mother. After the week of cleansing, he would emerge from his basement with his mother to see charred remains of the torn cities drifting on the wind landing across the now sandy grasslands. Over the coming months the town guard attempted to secure the town's position by beginning a program of exorbitant taxation and long work hours, at the behest of the lord. Vark didn’t mind giving up some of his food so that the traditionalist cause was not lost, but his growling stomach at night did not care for causes. When he was 6 his tutor, his uncle, was also called to the levies. He never saw them again, or heard of their fate. His mother could not find another man in town to take the responsibility of tutoring the young Vark, so attempted to do it herself. When he was 8, order fully collapsed in his town, as the radiation had made the aquaculture farms useless, and most of the men had been sent into the meatgrinder of the war as an attempt to secure what little livable land there was left. The lord had gone with them, leaving a weak regent in charge of his lands. The guards remaining had taken nearly everything from the villagers, and but for a sparse few, abandoned the villagers to their fate, fleeing off into the night. Vark would hope for a million deaths upon their clans for the rest of his life. The remaining guards pledged to take those villagers who had not been killed by cancer or the harsh work conditions to a settlement in the now forming wasteland, that was said to have room for refugees and food. So, with his now sickly mother, he packed up what possessions he had left and marched with his village into the sandy tides of the wasteland. The journey was hard, and the column of refugees endured many attacks from the precursor Gawgyrn, as well as attacks from those animals that had survived annihilation and starved for anything to eat. He eventually reached the forming settlement, named Garcho, with half the number that had started. It almost broke him, he spent many days by himself not even seeing his mother, before emerging and attempting to help the guards and older boys in whatever it is they had been asked to do around the settlement. He would sleep where-ever he could, underneath something preferably but when he and his mother could not find a place to stay, in alleys trying to fight off the cold wasteland night. He did this for two years, and then at the age of 11 everything changed for Vark when one of the first fire priests visited his settlement, a former sk’akh priest. While most in the settlement boo’d the preacher, or paid him no mind, Vark and his mother were enamored with the preaching, and asked the priest if they might accompany him on his travels. The priest agreed. Vark would spend most of his time with the priest, traveling from settlement to settlement across the wasteland, following the steps of the prophet himself, sometimes staying in one place for a month, other times only a night. He was taught the principles of Si’akh, and absorbed them with the energy of a child. His mother also absorbed the teachings, using them as justification for her husband's redemption, and her damnation for a reason Vark never understood. The sk’akh priest never told the young Vark their name, or clan name, and merely requested to be referred to as “sir” or “fire priest”. He also began to help out by fixing whatever he could find broken around the camp, and showed a shrewd aptitude for it. When he was 13, the contact war officially ended. He still clearly remembers where he was, eating the raw chunk of a shrieker while sitting on a rock, next to the fire priest when a follower approached them and told them of the traditionalists' defeat. Vark’s first thought was of the followers of Si’akh, and how they would face even more persecution from the Maraziite Order, now with the backing of the Hegemony. He said as much to what he now considered “his” priest next to him. The priest reassured him, saying that the Maraziite order could not harm the prophet, nor stop his preaching. However, their next stop proved the priest wrong. Before they managed to get to the settlement walls, they were ambushed by members of the Maraziite order, who had been tracking them for weeks. Vark managed to bolt inside the walls of the settlement with a contingent of faithful, but mainly his mother, before turning to attempt to help his priest, only to see him cut down by the Maraziites. The settlement guards then closed the gates. Lost in an unfamiliar settlement, Vark began to slowly drift away from the rest of the faithful, still sleeping in the same communal area of tents set up when they first arrived, but doing very different things. Vark, still only 13, had been invited by a Hephaestus Representative going around town speaking with parents and children, to the education center recently set up. There he learned Hephaestus's version of the spur, a land of opportunity for anyone who had enough grit and determination to advance. He threw himself into his classes, excelling, and after three years of classes being one of those lucky enough to be offered a degree by Hephaestus, on the condition that he work for the company a minimum of 20 years at whatever posting they assigned him. Taken off Moghes at the age of 17, his mother and friends he had traveled with said goodbye for what may be the last time, as they prepared to continue their pilgrimage behind the prophet, he felt guilt at leaving them, but knew that this was the best path forward for him. He was sent to Ceres University, specializing in engineering. He also got treatment for the cancers and leftover radiation affecting his body, something he knew now would eventually kill his mother, through constant medication. He threw himself into his studies, never really paying attention to the news or the goings on of the human nation around him, and unable to truly connect with his fellow Sinta, as they were mostly Hegemonic Nobles. He still kept to his Si’akh practice, even though it meant possible danger from the other students. He also began to apply his old uncle's lessons of duty to lords to Hephaestus, the company which had given him so much. He felt that he would do near anything for the company, should it ask. Eventually after 4 years of work, Vark graduated with a degree in engineering, and was sent to his first post at the age of 21. His first post lasted 4 years, and involved constructing new habitation facilities in the frontier to help boost Hephaestus's Image. Vark enjoyed this work, and it fulfilled him to help others, though their souls might be saved in the end no matter what he does. He never spent more than 4 month on any one planet. His second posting had him construction vessels of all purposes at a Hephaestus shipyard in the New Hai Phong system for 2 years. Vark didn’t really know what to make of this work, and would have preferred to do something else, but he did it nonetheless because it was asked of him. Eventually, he was reassigned to Biesel following the formation of the SCC, given an apartment on Valkyrie, and assigned contractor work aboard the NSS Aurora II as a Station Engineer. What do you like about this character? I think the thing I like the most is how open his story is, he still has to find a mate to attempt to save more souls as Si’akh demands, he hasn’t really experienced much of Biesel culture, which will be interesting to play with. I’m also really looking forward to interacting with other Unathi religions while playing someone who follows the doctrines of Si’akh. How would you rate your role-playing ability? A 6-7 out of 10 Notes:

what do you mean by this? like exact values for languages and how many points every species would get?

Marlon Phoenix Deputy Loremaster Application
Triogenix replied to Marlon P.'s topic in Developer Applications Archives
I has nothing to do with playing to me, but interaction and activity within the current lore team structure. This could have been a check box off if you your deputy application was accepted, which I wish it was. And for me, it's a mandatory checkbox. Introducing new management staff that haven't been in the lore community under Mofo's reign and regulations is not something I can support, no matter how much I would like to see you in the position due to your plans. Retcons are the one thing I believe we disagree on, I would merely like them to be more loudly broadcast, and I can see rules loosened to accommodate this. Many species have the remnants of poor lore writers to contend with, and asking them to fix it, which is a big task, for free, seems like asking too much to me. I'm only a player so I don't know how many of happened since I began playing, but I am assuming a fair amount. Letting individual maintainers run their own major retcons within their species without a thread to clean out the cruft for sometime, so long as they are announced to the playerbase is a fair idea in my mind. The reason I mentioned Major retcons is because, to my knowledge, news articles fall under major retcons and have to go through the same process. -

God it took me forever to get back to this, my apologies. Bear put what I was thinking into words much better then I believe I myself did. My issue was with my own misconception brought on by the fax(I was not playing in the round just saw the fax), and how it seemed to myself that they wished for no-one to even touch it. My apologies if I came off rude in the original post. -

I'm not trying to get embroiled in this argument so I will keep it simple. Since your return to the server, I haven't seen you work in an official capacity as a member of the lore team, and due to myself being relatively new compared to you, I have never seen it in the past either. Therefore, I have nothing to go off of with how you might interact with today's lore and team as an official, and not a player. I would personally like to see more of you as staff in the current lore team and setting before supporting you taking a management position, and one that may put you in charge of the entirety of aurora lore. This means things like maintainer or deputy writer in my eyes, to get a sense of what you'd do. Things that happened years ago don't really interest me, so there isn't enough recent hard evidence to, in my eyes, be able to support this application in any reasonable way. -

DrFarson - Head Role Application
Triogenix replied to Dr. Farson's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
The issue is, as of now, there is not a big enough sample size to truly determine if you have stopped doing it, at least in my eyes. Since you started to play again this winter, and I will admit it does seem very different, how many rounds have you played? I don't think it's many more then 10, and while that is a lot of time(close a days worth of playing) I think most people, including myself, want to see this behavior continue for at least 2 months, before they're comfortable with believing that you've truly changed. Especially when you're playing the same character. All I have right now is your word, and some improvements that aren't yet consistent enough over a long period of time right as you join back. Let me see that you've changed consistently for a longer period of time then a few weeks, and I will support an application. But as of now, there just isn't enough evidence to contradict your previous behaviors. -
Slightly sad the name won't be Artemis, but I just wanted to say thank you to everyone whose worked on NBT for the past however many years that's lead us to be able to playtest it next year, finally moving off a station setting. I look forward to the playtest with barely contained eagerness. Thank you all so much and happy holidays!

DrFarson - Head Role Application
Triogenix replied to Dr. Farson's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I have to echo faye here with Farson as a character specifically, I don't think they'd be a good fit for CMO given that first, as of now they work for Zeng-hu, so they'd have to transfer to NT and become CMO immediately(if you had waited a month for NBT testing this wouldn't be an issue since all command would report to the SCC), which in my eyes isn't believable, maybe having transfer to NT for a few months then bumping them up could work. Secondly, Farson, as Faye stated, never really stays in their lane and I can see them doing chemistry with two chemists of shift or surgery when there's a dedicated surgeon who isn't busy, and essentially take both interaction and things to do from your subordinates, which is IMO, the worst thing possible for a command member to do. I might reconsider should you choose to create a new character or bump up another. -1 -
This is the main reason I want this suggestion to happen. If I have a human whose lived in Crevus for the past 8 years and they can't understand a word of Siik, they don't really feel like an actual person, just someone random spouting BS. Same for skrell in the alliance. While I'm not sure I like the idea of a "points" system, I also don't really have any viable alternative. +1
