I have never interacted with Mneme on an OOC basis so I cannot comment on that, but they have incredible in-depth characters that have the capacity to create traction and drive rounds easily. It shows experience and understanding from multiple perspectives and how it affects the flow of the round, which is something I'd think is necessary to be a successful moderator. +1

Oh, another thing - the holodeck was moved and it's now blocking the tree from the upper z level. While that's probably acceptable, I still want to moan about it because the mini bar on the upper deck overlooking the tree was extremely cozy. That, and people will end up falling down and that's hilarious. Perhaps you could remap it slightly and use this "dead/unused" area instead?:

I've taken a round to try out everything Engineering (non-atmos) related. Engines function perfectly fine. Tesla works as it did on the Aurora, and the SM is arguably even easier than on the Aurora. Two complaints relating to the engine: The supermatter chamber starts with oxygen in the chamber. Oxygen activates the supermatter crystal, meaning that the crystal will eventually start delaminating on its own over the course of the round - this will happen every time if there's no engineering, or the engineers aren't aware of this and don't add gas/activate the engine as a preventative measure. The chamber needs to be 100% nitrogen in order to render the SM inert on round start, like it is on the Aurora. I was not able to find a third SMES coil crate - this isn't necessary, but having three SMES crates means you can supercharge an engine and use that exclusively instead of relying on two. I'd like to request adding another SMES coil crate somewhere, as a backup. The third one on the Aurora is in the backup SMES room in the engineering sublevel, for reference. The Engineering vendor does not have a lot of resources in stock - not usually an issue, but prevents having to dig into the toolboxes in the lockers for extra cable coils and tools if needed - this is the only source of duct tape and hammers in Engineering: Moving on, the shields are not completely covering the ship due to not detecting the turf next to the window as a "border" to the station. Please see screenshots below - note that the sensors suite outside the window has shields active, if that's of any indicator on how to fix the detection mechanism. Lastly, wiring. The following issues were causing power alarms or power issues, and I've also drawn a red line on how I've fixed them: Cargo - area outside the Cargo lobby window is not wired to any SMES, this is fixed by wiring to Cargo's network: The security checkpoint next to Operations/robotics, lower level - room does not have an APC, no wiring. Added APC and wired to hallway: Port and starboard SMES units do not have a cable connecting it to the network it's meant to be distributing it to, causing the entire area to not have power. Fixed by adding a cable as shown: I'll probably be adding these to a bug report if I bother to create a github account but it's here for now at least.

If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: Earlier in the shift the research director and head of security organised a simulated hostage scenario in the pool room on the Aurora. The hostage was a pseudo..human - the brainless ones that are ordered onto the station. Both teams were armed by the Head of Security with .45 pistols using rubber bullets, where the hostage takers had voidsuits with magboots and the entry team were equipped with heavy armour. The simulation eventually ended up in a firefight where Ahari and Takano breached the pool room to recover the hostage, and we incapacitated the hostage takers temporarily until they got back up while we were shot quite a few times as well. During all this chaos, the DPRA Zhan Kalmrroarakal that was previously seen tinkering with explosives right next to the window to the civilian main ring in Research, ran in and threw in a lubricant grenade, which covered most of the pool. Ahari naturally slipped since we did not have magboots while recovering the hostage, where she was grappled by the Zhan. When she got up, they stole Ahari's .45 pistol and proceeded to shoot the entire full clip (9 bullets) into Ahari point blank while she was defenseless. Naturally at that point she dropped from pain and couldn't move, paralysed in pain. The Zhan then decided to brag about how "he won" on radio while first responders struggled to reach everyone who was injured - she overheard on the first responder's radio that we were all at risk of shock throughout this entire time - felt like it while the responders were flailing about in the lube trying to get to us to help. None of what the Zhan was done was planned by the Command team to this one's awareness, and this was admitted to Ahari by the head of security while she was on the transfer shuttle. They just ran in, threw a lubricant grenade and started attacking the injured participants in the simulation to the point of risking the heart stop. Submitted Evidence: N/A - was at shift end, spent the rest of the time recovering from severe pain, dazed. Would you like to be personally interviewed?: [x] - Yes [ ] - No Did you report it to a Head of Staff or a superior? If so, who? If not, why?: The heads of staff said this was not planned and shrugged. Admittedly this was shift end and this one was in too much pain to be vocal, so there was not much they could do at the given time, but didn't do anything regardless. Actions taken: shrugged Additional Notes: N/A

StinkethStonketh - Head of Staff WL Application
Ramke replied to WaterPumpJohnny's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Your characters have strong personality traits and show off lore well, as well as add that much-needed spice to an usual round. Your roleplay is really strong, and you excel in creating that bit of drama. You're also fair and understand round flow, allowing antags to get their gimmicks out and giving that lee-way needed. However, I have noticed that communication is usually something that could be improved on. There have been numerous occasions where something was asked multiple times, but a response never came. The same goes when asking for something, but never replying to the question of your location, or anything other follow-ups. The previous round that just ended is a good example, where you requested investigators to provide you with the investigation files. They didn't know your location so they asked, multiple times, and never got a response. As a result, they have been waiting awkwardly for a response, or an appearance in the brig, for up to a quarter of an hour before giving up entirely. This is one out of many, many cases where this happened. I'm well-aware how much of a nightmare it is to try to play the character and keep up with the constant flow of communication both on radio and in person, but just something to perhaps focus on in the future as it leaves a lot of people in frustrating limbo. If you improve on the communication front, that's a definite +1 from me. -

CCIA Staff Application Basic Information Byond key: Ramke Character names: Valetzrhonaja Al-Thaalzir, Takiyah Nihalkir, Zohra El-Thaarhrar, Kismet Al-Hamdan, Nasira Nahnikh - there's more, but they won't be well-known Age: 25 Timezone: GMT What times are you most available?: 5pm-midnight Experience How long have you played SS13?:Around a year How long have you played on Aurora?: Aurora is the only server I have played, same as above How active on the forums, discord and/or server are you? Like most people, I only use forums if I'm looking something up as it's not active outside of rare discussions. I'm active on the discords and server on a daily level, usually. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: N/A Have you ever volunteered as moderation staff for any other servers, SS13 or otherwise?: I have been a headmin and am currently an admin-on-vacation in a different game/community Do you have any other experience that you believe would be relevant to a position in the CCIA?: No - not directly, at least. I have been many things in the community linked above including event organiser, moderator, admin, headmin, uofficial developer and faction leader. Personality Why do you want to join the CCIA?: I have a primitive brain and as a result like the fax machine. I'd like to help contribute providing some driving force for gimmicks and IC interactions between CCIA and Command. Representing the head honchos of the corporation and playing part in their investigations sounds exciting. What do you think are the most important qualities for a CCIA Agent to possess?: The ability to separate the icky from the ocky. The ability to step away and not involve yourself in situations where you are biased or already involved. A good vision and understanding of round flow, and knowing how your actions would influence it. Lastly, the desire to learn everything there is before making a decision. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is in an ongoing round?: To help drive a gimmick and round flow, enforce consequences, motivate Command/the crew and provide a realistic background/setting. The CCIA Agent is the representation of higher-ups that loom over the station and want to ensure that it remains in working order and produces results. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is outside of the server?: To investigate and impose consequences for those who stepped over the line (IRs), clear up any misconceptions and provide support relating to Command/leadership/etc. If there are any more obligations, I'm not aware. How do you handle stress?: If something is getting to you, step away and come back with a calm head. If it's not something you can step away from and have to remain in there, divide the situation into chunks and address it in terms of priority to not overload yourself. I would like to think I handle stress well this way. How well do you work autonomously? I would like to think I work well autonomously once I'm familiar with what I am doing. I'll probably be asking a lot of questions and second opinions before that. Additional Notes: I'm definitely more of a newer player to SS13 and probably not very well known so feel free to be judgmental about it.

I like these changes. I feel like there will be debate whether the machinist should be more engineering-related, but aside from that I look forward to it.

BYOND Key: Ramke Character Names: Valetzrhonaja Nayrragh'Rakhan, Takiyah Nihalkir, Nasira Nahnikh, Zohra El-Thaarhrar, Kismet Al-Hamdan Species you are applying to play: Vaurca What color do you plan on making your first alien character: RGB 11, 43, 27 (Zkaii/K'lax colours) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Why do you wish to play this specific race: The Vaurca are perhaps the most alien but still sympathisable race on Aurora. They have an interesting backstory that allows for a decent bit of variation in terms of world view, religion (and as a result, conflict) which allows for interesting interactions. The other races treat them with serious suspicion or disgust, which adds to the unique experience I'd like to try. They are also extremely short-lived but immortal at the same time, depending on their status/brood - brings up the philosophical discussions of whether re-sleeving/afterlife VR is an emulation or a true consciousness of the mind. I like the SOMA vibes. They also bug everyone else out and this is vhunny. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: The Vaurca are alien insects that see things very differently. The concept of serving the hive & aiming to return back to wonderland (VR) is a major motivator for most characters, much more so than the average "oh i'm here for my paycheck" in terms of humans. They are discriminated against severely, and treated as unnatural by some (or most, if you're a bulwark). Their dependence on VR allows for an extremely different mindset as showcased by the various Vaurcese religions. The caste system and bound/unbound dynamics allow for a unique interaction with fellow Vaurca, especially with the relations between hives tossed into the mix. Depending on how they were brought up, they also have a varying degree of understanding social cues. Character Name: Ka'Akaix'Zrin K'lax Please provide a short backstory for this character: Ka'Akaix'Zrin is an unbound K'lax belonging to Zkaii's brood. Zrin is part of a young (4 year) hive cell geared towards innovation and unending curiosity towards understanding how things work in order to practically reproduce the technology for the hive's benefit. Zrin, like the rest of the cell mates, originally went on an engineering project to work with Unathi to learn more about their craftsmanship, and mixed this knowledge with K'lax's to produce new results. Over the course of the years of field knowledge outside of VR and experimentation inside VR, Zrin experimented with grandiose designs to implement new concepts and technology. One of its greatest feats, something it will constantly brag about, is that it helped construct Tret's Orbital Factory and, more importantly, made some small part for the K'laxian Neutron Forge unveiled in 2462. As a fervent believer of the Mother Dream, Zrin was euphoric thinking this would be the defining factor of it moving over to a higher simulation, but this did not come. Taking inspiration from Ka’Akaix’Vhixok K’lax, Zrin remained driven to go even further than before. As the forge was finished and the project was complete, Zrin went back to exploring new technology. With the ever growing need for knowledge, the cell was eventually assigned to a lucrative offer that their Ta could not deny - working on a research station for NanoTrasen. With plenty of supermatter, phoron (well, not so much now) and experimental technology such as the Tesla available, Zrin eventually managed to find its way to the Aurora. What do you like about this character: Zrin is meant to be extremely curious (to a fault), looking into the tiny details of how things work. This will tie in a lot to the personality, and will likely drive interaction (or making humans uncomfortable). Likewise, if denied the opportunity, it will be frustrated and try to figure things out through alternate means. Given that Zrin is from Zkaii's brood and is a believer of the Mother Dream, it offers a unique perspective to bugged world view. Escaping into the next level to reach the physical world is its main goal, and it does so through trying to combine technology of other races and their concepts to further the K'lax hive, which ties into working with Aurora's supermatter and tesla engines. If pushed too far, Zrin may eventually have a crisis of faith as its expectations are crushed as with the forge, which might be a fun little arc. How would you rate your role-playing ability: it's ok, I'm improving Notes: I know this will be asked so I'm pre-emptively answering this: Zrin treats the Zo'ra in a cordial, cold manner, acknowledging the fact that they are fellow Vaurca struggling in the same way. C'thur, on the other hand, are despised and, as driven by the fact that they are vile snakes (but buggified), expects them to backstab whenever it is convenient. Fellow K'laxians are vhriendly. Different species-wise, Zrin has picked up admiration for the Unathi given the dedication to their craft, something that inspired it to work more. Unathi, as long as they are following their clan's traditions, are treated with respect, whereas those who deviate aren't viewed upon favourably. Zrin finds humans strange, and their dislike of Vaurca not something it can understand. Nevertheless, Zrin has found ways to make it work as it helped on the Orbital Factory project, and does not mind them one way or the other. It has not yet built an opinion on the other species.

Hello, I'm just writing to formally request the CE hardsuit to be reverted or edited (or reverted until edited?) given the overall appeal of the suit, which seems to rank consistently the lowest out of any of the reworked hardsuits of anyone whom I've asked. I don't mean to be overly harsh and be destructive in feedback, please don't take it as such, but I am honest when I say I have yet to hear anyone who plays Engineering/Chief Engineer say it is a positive change, design-wise. I'm not very well connected to the community however, so this may not encompass everyone's opinion. The most common descriptor I could get is that it's lacking in detail/generic, feels washed out/ugly colour and that it's too similar to the regular suit that Engineering has available. I'm fully aware that the sprite changes are meant to move Aurora away from "dead space" suits, and that this is a matter of taste more than anything, but I'd kindly like to ask for the hardsuit to be reverted to the old version until an alternative becomes available. The others are perfectly fine, and I'm willing to add or organise a poll if this seems like a "all of my echo chamber friends think it's bad" kind of post. Again, a matter of taste, but personally I'd suggest the hardsuit to be resprited similar to the old one, at least in colour if not in design. Here's the old one for those who have forgotten what it look like:

BYOND Key: ramke Discord Username: Ramke#5458 Character Name: Valetzrhonaja Nayrragh'Rakhan Item Name: Nayrragh'Rakhan Cloak Item Function(s): Functionally, it's just a resprite of the normal Tajara cloak. Item Description: A worn, black cloak with golden adornments decorating the edges of the fabric. The insignia of the Nayrragh'Rakhan family is embedded into the custom pin holding the cloak together, and each shoulder is decorated by the representation of a yellow or blue sun - the symbols of S'rendarr and Messa. The fabric is faded, having clearly been tested by time. Why is your character bringing this item to work?: Valetzrhonaja is a character that is (I hope) known for never really separating with her cloak, and she takes great care to avoid letting it come to harm to the point of actively avoiding situations that might cause it to get dirty if the option allows it - a character quirk. It is (the only) keepsake that connects her to Adhomai, and a reminder of her family and roots, hence the obsession with carrying it around everywhere. It's also a bit gaudy, letting that royalist flair manifest itself into the clothing. How did your character obtain this item?: It was passed down to Valetzrhonaja by her family before she left to study in Kaltir, and eventually leaving to Tau Ceti. What value does this item have to your character, and what story does it tell?: As one of the only keepsakes from back home, the cloak is of immense sentimental value to the character and offers other players a prompt to start digging deeper into the backstory of the Nayrragh'Rakhan family history and the character's backstory. Sprites: Additional Comments: This is my first time spriting and I hate life sometimes. Feedback is appreciated. val_cloak.dmi

Desven's Command (CMO actually) application
Ramke replied to Desven's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
The player behind Pierre is extremely talented at making a believable, living, inclusive character that fits very well with Aurora - Pierre's grown to be one of my favourite characters to see, though sadly I rarely have chance to interact with him nowadays as I'm returning to my engineering roots. He's very much the opposite of the afk-and-stare-at-sensors people, actively seeking out and causing interactions which makes rounds infinitely better for medical players - this I can say from my time as a med player. Phenomenal roleplayer. From an OOC/skill perspective, they've experienced and played for quite a bit in medical, and I know they can play well. While they're not perfect and can sometimes make mistakes as we all do, I mean this in the best way possible because mistakes make the round more fun and dynamic compared being a perfect powergamer. Even in the example posted previously, while yes that meant a player who was lethally hurt died because of a mistake, it caused a lot of IC conflict that made the round spicy. Their overall play is above average otherwise, from what I've seen while in my little pharmacy corner. Would like to see them at least trialed for Command for sure. +1 -
Erica is usually the chief replacement for me when I'm not around, I don't have any complaints regarding their command/CE play. They do a lot of paperwork (big plus), hand out wire schematics and provide departmental resources to best deal with situations when applicable (i.e. handing out RFD-Ps). I can't say much about their command comms since they steal my spot, but generally they check in frequently in engineering and distribute work, which is good. The one thing we can all improve on is just trying to keep people in the know and try to involve them, but it's always so situational that it's hard to provide specific feedback. I struggle with this sometimes as well. Overall, +1

Taking Down Communications Should Require An Ahelp
Ramke replied to Faye <3's topic in Rejected Policy
As someone who tends to be the one that has to crawl up there to try to fix it, and with how weird telecomms code is, this would be really appreciated personally. Low level sabotage like cutting the power is fine, but as soon as people start blowing equipment up, that's usually a 30min+ job rebuilding equipment and connecting everything, praying that it ends up working because of how unreliable it is sometimes. It's on the same level of sabotaging atmospherics (though not as damaging to health as it is to fun), and repairs take forever. It doesn't help that antags usually loom around to make it impossible. -
BYOND key: Ramke Character names: - Freya Sandstrom - Valetzrhonaja Nayrragh'Rakhan How long have you been playing on Aurora?: About 3 months Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: From experience, I found that being a(n Interim) Chief Engineer was a very fun experience. Ever since I've started, I've played Engineering exclusively, and I feel like it would be natural progression to step into a Command role for the department I really enjoy playing. Why did you come to Aurora?: A friend recommended this game/community to me, tried it before but I couldn't wrap my head around SS13's graphics and controls. Tried again a year later with a friend to hold my hand this time, and that was a lot more successful. I ended up loving it in the end, so I stuck around. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing? Yes Have you received any administrative actions? And how serious were they? Never received any administrative action to my awareness. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplay, in essence, is playing a different character in a different universe. Believable, but unique stories make for a really fun gameplay experience and environment where your own characters can grow and develop, allowing for character progression and leading to more interesting interactions with other players. If executed well, roleplaying with a good community is a very fun way to spend your time, and the time is invested into developing your own characters remains persistent, making them more valuable to both the player and the server over time. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: Department-wise, they are the characters people go to for direction - whether it is to learn about playing in the department or to find direction on what to do, whether they are bored out of their mind or not sure what choice to take in any given situation. They are also meant to aid significantly in organisation as the authority of the department, responsible for ensuring that it functions well, and guiding people to resolve it if it isn't. Station-wise, they are the ones that direct the flow of the round, and act as the "official representatives" of the station to antagonists or non-crew characters. They are the ones making the decisions that make or break a situation, giving direction to the chaos that tends to happen on the station. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: I believe Command whitelist players have a responsibility to ensure sensible round progression, not going overboard and trying to make sure that everyone (including antagonists) have fun. They are also responsible for making sure anyone who is new to the department has all the resources and support needed to learn the role, mentoring them when possible. This is especially relevant with Engineering, as a lot of things are taught by word of mouth rather than wiki materials (i.e. atmospherics). I feel like anything outside of that is more related to IC obligations, but those are the two I would personally expect a head of staff to be responsible for. While I do this normally, I would take great care to think how my actions would affect the flow of the round, and try to pick the options that are both sensible and ensure players get involved in a fun way. Mentor-wise, I already teach new apprentices the department and how it works, and that would continue if I were to get accepted. Could you give us the gist of what is currently happening in Tau ceti and how it affected your character and their career? The Solarian invasion arc is what allowed me to introduce my character (Valetzrhonaja) into the universe, going from working planetside to becoming a station engineer during the lockdown as emergency staff. Now that it is over, Valetzrhonaja is continuing her goal of working towards her education, in addition to earning a managerial (CE) role where she works while she is contractually stuck working for NanoTrasen. The latest news from Adhomai about DPRA now deciding to become North Korea is causing her a lot of worries, and is not happy with the implications of what might happen to her home planet. What roles do you plan on playing after the application is accepted? Exclusively Chief Engineer - not interested in any other roles, at least for the foreseeable future. I'd maybe look into expanding to an NKA consular or something of the sort in the very long run, but that won't be anytime soon. Characters you intend to use for command or have created for command. Include the job they will be taking: Valetzrhonaja Nayrragh'Rakhan - Chief Engineer How would you rate your own roleplaying?: I am confident that I can roleplay well, but I am not perfect with it either - emoting in particular still needs a lot of work in terms of in-game roleplay, which I'm trying to improve. Do you understand your whitelist is not permanent, and may be stripped following continuous administrative action? Yes Have you familiarize yourself with the wiki pages for the command roles? Yes Extra notes: I'm still relatively new to SS13 (Aurora is my first server), so I will likely spaghetti a lot as I'm still not a vet by any stretch of imagination. I'm also the opposite of robust when it comes to PvP, since I have zero experience in it other than left clicking maintenance drones - not many decide to touch engineers as everyone wants air in the end. If that affects the application, that's fine - mechanical knowledge outside of the Engineering department (i.e. combat) is my main personal concern. I've been trying to take a lot of interim shifts to learn the flow of Command (thanks HOPs) and try to get used to new situations to avoid being too out of depth. I feel like that has gone well enough, but I'm sure other players can provide more unbiased feedback.

I've altered the backstory slightly to reference the S'rand'marr religion (misread the religion pages previously), and I suppose I can answer it more in-depth here. Valetzrhonaja follows the S'rand'marr religion, as this is something she had grown up with during the time spent in the wilderness. It matters as much as it is her world view, and as the early community followed the religion's traditions, their practice carried over to her as well. Other Tajara who might have different views/religions are fine, as long as they don't try to shove it down her throat. She believes that her belief is the correct one, and that it would be poor form for her to try to convince other Tajara as Ma'ta'ke and S'rand'marr are both somewhat similar, and common in the NKA. Tajara practicing Raskariim (or xeno religions) would put her off greatly, and make her think that they are either mentally ill, or lost. Hope that answers it, thank you for the comments!

BYOND Key: Ramke Character Names: Freya Sandstrom Species you are applying to play: Tajara What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Cream or a darker variation of it Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: I have read the vast majority of this species' lore pages. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I find their background/history interesting and unique. Unlike other races (barring perhaps Unathi), they allow for a recently uplifted race that has suffered through a lot of ideological changes, wars and revolutions to be immersed into a completely alien environment. As I intend to play a Njarir'Akhran from the New Kingdom of Adhomai, I feel like the contrasting technological development levels and different ideologies would allow for a lot of interesting interactions and character growth on the Aurora. The currently evolving political scene allows for a lot of progress in terms of character development, too, which contributed to me deciding to write this application. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Primarily their history and background. Tajara come from a stratified society that faced a recent technological uplift and complete political upheaval. They are an alien in Tau Ceti - unlike humans that are native to the system - and face discrimination and challenges that derive from that. With the difference in technology (at least compared to the NKA), they may be unfamiliar with a lot of things that are commonplace and "normal" to the average Tau Ceti resident. The same can be said with their view of other races, as they have only just brought up to speed with the rest of the galactic community. Character Name: Valetzrhonaja Nayrragh'Rakhan Please provide a short backstory for this character: Valetzrhonaja was born into the Njarir family Nayrragh'Rakhan - based in the rural outskirts of Dolor that were part of the Duchy of Dolor's nobility - a year after the end of the first revolution - 2432. By that time, the family had effectively collapsed after having lost all of its wealth, titles, holdings and many family members to the tides of revolution. What was left of the now-obscure family had scattered in various directions; some remnants sought shelter with those that would still welcome them - old business partners, acquaintances or anyone who took pity - and some chose to migrate elsewhere to avoid discrimination and the Hadiists' watchful eye. After catching wind of small groups of Njarir heading north to establish underground communities in the wild, Valetzrhonaja's parents followed suit, travelling towards Northern Harr'Masir. The region was remote enough to allow the settlement to avoid being discovered, as long as everyone exercised caution. Valetzrhonaja spent her early years in the small community, watching the population to grow from just a few Njarir to a over a dozen. Some care was spent into educating the youth of the settlement and a senior took up the role of teacher, providing rudimentary education to those that lacked it. The disgraced nobility taught stories of the olden days when they were in power, glorifying themselves and accentuating the horrors of the revolution. Despite the self-centered songs of praise, the lack of technology made them adapt very medieval ways of living, resorting to herbal medicine and manual work for all aspects of their life. As with most Njarir, the community followed S'rand'marr, and ensured that the religion and its traditions were taught to their children, including Valetzrhonaja, as well. With hand-crafted huts and small Earthen-root farms, the small community survived up until Vahzirthaamro Azunja's rebellion and the beginning of the second revolution in 2450, where the community was discovered by NKA revolutionaries that were sweeping the area for Hadiist outposts. The ensuing confrontation displayed high tensions, but eventually the revolutionaries stood down, realising they were simple civilians. Despite expectations of being shot or imprisoned then and there, the revolutionaries instead briefly explained what happened over the course of the years they lived in isolation. They then requested the settlement to take up arms against the PRA with them, promising them to restore their old status should they accept. The majority, including Valetzrhonaja, agreed. Valetzrhonaja was been selected to become part of a sapper unit, undergoing general and engineering training before being deployed into the backline as a support unit that would later further reinforce and garrison the Dymtris Line. She served up until the status quo ended in 2458, where she received crippling bullet wounds as a result of the failed PRA offensive on the defensive line. She was discharged from service shortly after, as reduced lung function proved to be difficult to overcome with the medicine available to the army at the time. As a result of both her and her family members' service in the Royal Army, Neyrragh'Rakhan were officially recognised to be part of the New Kingdom's nobility. Since her discharge from the military, Valetzrhonaja was left aimless. She spent the following years recovering from the stresses and wounds from military life, and enrolling into university to further her studies into engineering, with the long-term goal of assisting in administration of construction projects mandated by the crown in Kaltir. During this time, Valetzrhonaja delved into the history of her people, and her family, to pick up more from her ancestors and learn the traditions of old. She has also learned Ya'ssa as a result of the house of Azunja actively promoting it as the official language of the Kingdom, obesssively following the trend of nobility that now enveloped her mind. After the Armistice of Shastar was signed, a small plot of land in the area south-west of Dymtris was granted to the Neyrragh'Rakhan family, with her parents are the land owners. She expected to receive something herself, but was left disappointed after realising she would, in the end, remain an unlanded noble and in uphill competition for being the heir to the land. Her older siblings had made it very clear that they wouldn't support anyone else getting the title, including Valetzrhonaja. After realising her situation, she was livid. To have spent nearly a decade trying to achieve a higher status, only to be let down at the crescendo, was soul-crushing. She decided to stay in Kaltir, looking for new opportunities to further her standing. At the same time, NanoTrasen had started establishing itself in Kaltir, and began offering sponsorships for further education in exchange for remaining employed at the megacorporation for a set number of years. Despite interaction with the xenos being a very strange ordeal, she didn't mind the corporation's presence. Instead, she sought to take advantage of the offer and, in the long run, return to Adhomai with prestigeous education and experience. By the beginning of 2462, she had went through a NT-mandated course to learn Ceti Basic, and found herself on an NT shuttle to Biesel, where she started working and studying for her doctorate in Engineering on an apprenticeship scheme at the Hongsun Park Engineering Institute. Her place of residence was in Phoenixport, in close proximity to the Institute. Her place of employment, however, eventually changed to the NSS Aurora as a state of emergency was declared and more emergency staff were requested on the station. What do you like about this character? Unlike my other character that was mostly neutral on everything and had first character syndrome, this one would allow for a lot of opinions and stories to be generated just from the backstory alone, hopefully making it more interesting to talk and interact with. The character is sensitive about a few issues (claims to nobility, the revolution due to the backstory), with flaws to back that up. She's likely to end up in heated arguments with Hadiists, for example, which seem to be the most populous on Aurora. Moving from growing up in the wilderness to a space station in human space in the span of twelve years is a huge jump, and having the character start adapting to human culture after their experiences seems like a fun challenge to build on. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I'm far from the best, but I believe I can roleplay quite well. 7-8/10 Notes: Feel free to ask any questions or concerns, I'm also available on Discord: Ramke#5458
