and what if its a strictly medical/security/engineering ERT and the other types aren't needed? Still not in support of this.
-
Honestly I am against this. We can't have those designated people online 24/7 ready to get called for ERT. If people are bad at ERT, they will get better by playing it more. ERT Is a small part of the game, no reason to make it exclusive and snowflakey to the point where no one will want to be ERT.

"He just went straight for the "assuming direct control" route, which was incredibly disrespectful and ultimately led to Security dissolving into chaos and death." no, the HoS did that when he decided to go into the maint and disobey orders. That is YOUR and HIS fault. Not the captains. "It's at this point I hear the Captain make several EXTREMELY disrespectful announcements on the comms, blaming the deaths on the Commander's incompetence and insubordination. " I would be pissed too if my HoS decided to disobey orders and go into maint and get killed

I was involved as a heister so I saw most of what went down yes so my ego will be okay. What a less than smart request to make on a complaint lol... really shows what you are trying to get out of this Anyways, I think the captain could have been more laid back, though it was your fault you died, Jackboot. "The unathi officer and I responded to reports of bad activity in RnD maintenence, and ended up in a firefight with the heisters. " we were leaving to negotiate and if you would have listened and stayed in security you wouldn't have died... which is what the captain was trying to prevent... but you did it anyways.... and died.... So yeah, I mean nothing really wrong here besides him insulting you but even that can be considered an IC thing. "I did not order my staff to take hostile action against the heisters. I was ordering them to stay out of contact with them and gear up as best they could" didn't you just say you were going to go respond to reports of bad activity? And then you fought the heisters? "And we did call for back-up. We fell into an ambush. The officers did not arrive in time because they did what you told them to do." which is a good thing because they would have died as well, also it wasn't an ambush, you legit walked into us as we were leaving to talk terms with you guys "The HoS is appointed for a reason and it's implied that they know enough about security situations to have them be listened to. " if the HoS is doing things that will lead to security dying (See above) then yeah, the captain should take away some of that power " You instead demanded the officer go all the way to the breached brig, putting himself and all of command in danger." yes because we would have slaughtered you if he didn't, it was one of our main demands, the captain was in the right with that " I had brought up that I was willing to comply with only some of their demands, not giving up crew or locking people in breached departments." again, you not complying to the demands led to you to get killed, not the captain Anyways, the captain was in the right here. He was giving orders to protect and serve the station, and you broke them, left security and DIED. Which is what the Captain knew would happen, and tried to prevent. also, don't ignore what ForgottenTravel said because that is important as well

Vox should have slightly longer sprint(they run out in like 2 seconds and go to red in 5), same speed as they are very beefy predatory creatures "They often move in what has been described as a hunched-over, predatory stance, signifying a potential evolution from a more primitive predatory raptor. While sentient, they are by no means intelligent. However, what they lack in brains, they make up for with muscle. Members of peditem have a rather overdeveloped adrenal glands and extremely dense muscle fibers that allow them to be capable of great feats of speed or strength under duress. "

It cuts out him pressing a button and printing something. God forbid. I'm sure he will be able to preform 100% better than someone without this custom RPED and will lead to influx of requests for custom RPED's so that they could also match up to Edgar's one button advantage that does nothing you can't do without an REPD. http://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=100&t=7303 This stops him from having to get a cap and rename it with a hand labeler. http://forums.aurorastation.org/viewtopic.php?f=99&t=2199 Same as above Also, half of the custom items adds nothing at all except for the person who has it so don't pull that card. Also, why are you judging someone else's character. If he wants to RP being a bit childish ICly allow him to do so, you are not the roleplay police and it hurts no one as long as its not excessive. I hate it when people are anal over other peoples characters like that.

You know he has to do research anyways to get useful parts to actually replace right??? And to get to those parts you also unlock the normal item anyways right??? He isn't asking for advanced level parts, this gives no advantage at all, he still has to do research to use it effectively. Its just cosmetics. A little bit of research before you reply to a thread goes a long way friends.

telecoms is very complicated in terms of machinery if you don't know what you are doing. I'd rather not have someone fuck it up as radio is an important part of the round for people. Also, it seems like this job would very much be a joke job, or one that sits there and waits for someone to try to sabotage tcoms (IE. mercs) and screams over radio what's going on.

please explain how wrapping paper makes a large spacesuit/gun fit into a small backpack

I like them so long as the person playing as it isn't a total idiot just like the syndie borg.

Well this was done. So I guess it can be locked.

okay so real simple right, I'm hans. I don't know what happened to the bartender, Nikov or whoever shot him, but if you aim a shotgun at ERT, I will smoke you. End of. The engineering apprentice fought me, took the bulldog and aimed at me before promptly dying and getting banned by staff. Whoever said we started the fire in science is just... dumb, okay? Right, the two that did it were killed and banned (it was a borg and a maint drone) I wouldn't be surprised if the bartender was banned as well. so to end this up, if you shoot at ERT or attack us, we aren't going to go *its okay ;3 (stun)(stun)* you are going to die if you pose a threat and don't stop posing a threat when a flashbang is used and you aren't immediately shot at. Which, to no surprise, aiming a shotgun that could have slugs is posing a threat. The bartender I was unrelated to so not much I can say. The only people I killed were non-antags who were shitlers and got banned anyways (Engineering apprentiance, borg, maint drone.) I captured the heisters, patched a breach in science, and fought fires so I consider it a job well done. and that end part with the CCIA was my character being pissed overall at the situation being blamed for things he didn't do. I don't like shooting antags or anyone else unless I really have to, but I'm not all of the ERT. I'm also not going to take a chance on dying when we've had confirmed hostiles and you attack me with a crowbar or be a complete idiot. If I can, I'd take down antags or anyone else non-lethally or with talking, but somtimes it's not an option. This was one of those times.
-
No. I mean after you find a certain number of anomalies all it says is "Background radiation detected". Which basically means "Good luck finding it somewhere on the asteroid!" And at that point you have to go around and spam click every tile and hope that its an anomaly which isn't fun anymore. I like finding them, just not like that.

So, pretty much every round scientists know the exact steps to get a railgun and max other tech. It's not a secret what exact crates you have to order to get combat 8 and most of the time no one really cares research is getting it. But that's not the problem. The problem is illegal tech. Why does an energy relay give illegal tech? I suggest you remove that part of the energy relay completely. I know it sucks to not be able to get some things because illegal tech and its extended, but at least make it a lot harder to get. Or completely remove illegal tech from non-antag rounds.

Few changes to enhance the gamemode New Hardware: EMP Resistant electronics. (Basically just makes you and your APC (not your SME) 100% EMP resistant.) New research costs. Emergency shields cost 3200 to research. You have to research emergency shields to research machine overload for a whopping 7200 while the thing to end the round in 20 minutes costs 2750 to research. Prettttty dumb. I suggest the shields and overload be decreased, and the system override increased.

Seems like a good idea. I'd like a firing range dedicated to weapons as well in science, or on the outpost, if it could fit. I'd say add a hacked firing pin or whatever to the traitor uplink.
-
During merc, or whenever, if the nuke is armed it should go to delta automatically.
-
Ah, thought it was with EMP as well. Anyways, about the buff, only thing I can think is an (more/fully) EMP resistant suit for them. if they want a higher cell capacity they can RP getting one from research via theft or whatever.
-
Fix ninja by making it so if they get ION'd they don't blow up, and add it to secret. I would like to see this gamemode added to secret as it could bring some RP. Also, make the contact datajack relevant for stealing research. Rev was added to secret.

Wheather or not someone thinks something is irrelevant. If they're actually doing shit like jumping into situations with no apparent reasoning, then log it, preferably with screenshots to accompany, and ahelp or open a complaint. Okay. Back on topic. Cloning has no effect because it only lasts 1 round because most people don't make it cannon. Which this is where the nerf part comes in. I say after 30 or so minutes of death, you can't be cloned anymore.
-
PRove that they said that... You can't. Anyone can come up with dumb reasons to do something and get away it again and again. Also you can reattach heads and put brains in again. There is legit no reason for security to not rush in to a hostage situation if they can outgun the antags If you right-click your chat window, there's this neat little button that says 'log.' Also, if someone is repeatedly getting away with shit for no good reason, again, make a player complaint. That shit shouldn't be happening. sorry that flew over your head, prove they thought that. No one is dumb enough (i'd hope) to admit to it in chat
-
ICly, cloning is pretty expensive, and antags can just threaten to behead or debrain their hostage to prevent cloning. Also, cloning is supposed to be fucking traumatic, and anyone saying 'lol lets jump into a situation that's basically just kms becos cloning exists yay!' should be reported to the administration or have a complaint levied against them. Now, before you go all crazy, I suggest a trial run of this be done for like a week or so to see how it goes. I suggest cloning be removed or nerfed because there isn't a real sense of danger when "Oh, well I can just be cloned :D" or "The hostage can be cloned" though the latter has been addressed and has gotten better. Also, we have a 30 minute respawn timer, so it's not like "oh fuck Im out of the round forever now.". I feel that if cloning was removed people would be a lot more careful with their characters and it would be a bit more realistic.

While we on this, can we lock up bomb toxins as well? Anyways, I fully disagree with the lockbox idea. It's pointless. The ability to blacklist certain items is good, I feel like what would be helpful. Also the notice jackboot said would be good as well.
