While it feels weird to imagine seeing "bridge crew" running around flying shuttles and being out on missions given 'why arent you on the bridge' i imagine and agree enough exposure to it will normalize it. If anything, I'd love to see Pilot as a job title somewhere, as an alt to bridge crew even. Having a big ship and shuttles and no pilots feels criminal!

Cmo should be wearing HUDs. The other two idk... if i cant reliably flash them then i guess i will just shoot them. Nothings as quick and safe as a flash

Thank you for the answers. Sorry if im badgering. I understand now. I believe it may be better still to have Pilots who are said to have expanded responsibilities - the ones you listed. That way everyone knows that they can fly the shuttle/ship/etc and that they have no authority. Since a pilot is needed for an expedition anyway(?) it feels more intuitive. Bridge crew as ive encountered them in SS13 usually have some authority.
-
These imply some level of authority. I'm not sure how coordination, check-up, and other tasks don't qualify them as a sort of middle management. What would their average round look like?
-
Are they analogous to QMs then, being middle management?

Cool changes! I only feel like bridge crew should be called Pilots??

unathi [Accepted] Yonnimer's unathi app
Marlon P. replied to Yonnimer's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Good application! I like the answers to the questions and the background of the character. -
The forum thread no longer exists, so the policy was obviously thrown out. It's in my old google documents folders. It's very 2016 Aurora in its energy, even though it was made in 2018. It was probably a bad policy, given it was removed, and also I had an argument where someone cited it as a reason for removing vampires' eyes in science whenever they please. So I won't paste it in full, just my favorite part. A new policy for a new era will definitely be necessary.

I wrote the original FCP while loremaster. It is in the Head Staff subforum of which i have no access to. I remember it because of a thread in which it was incorrectly cited as a reason to remove vampire's eyes cart blanche.

This is a longterm project to summarize half a decade of scattered Alliance, Tau Ceti, Martian, and 'Other' news into one place, and then submit for wiki developers. It's a casual project so it will be updated periodically. When a page of the news, or an IC year, is completed that section will be put in lore canonization for developer consideration for the wiki. I don't want to submit an incomplete project. Caephelon and I ruled out other subforums for the proper place for it, and it's not off-topic, so i'm posting it in general. If administration finds there's a more suitable subforum for it please let me know. I will post an update whenever significant progress is made. I will be stopping the timelines at roughly 2019, the year that I left Aurora. I do not know enough about articles after this point to write with authority their intended narratives. Articles not written by me may appear more brief because of the same reason above, if I forgot the author's original intended narrative. I will probably mark articles that are the result of the 1st and 2nd Antag Contests or that were the result of on-station events. I'll figure that out when I get to them. Each thread is marked as a title, and the article summaries are inside the spoiler beneath. 2457 - Unathi Crisis (And Sol Alliance Election 2457) - Finished Note to self: 2463 / 2021 2462 / 2020 2461 / 2019 2460 / 2018 2459 / 2017 2458 / 2016

Expansion of Review Requests/IC Punishment System
Marlon P. replied to Robotic Potato's topic in Policy Suggestions
Sorry if i missed the answers to these: How does it handle antags? If I beat up an antag and get a Head strike for it, im not an antag but it was related to antag activity. Relatedly, How are these appealed or removed? -
Type (e.g. Planet, Faction, System): Wiki addition. Short Description: this is a small addition for the Grim Compact page. The existing Compact justifies itself using assumptions from the player that no longer exist. Namely the pervasive belief from 2014 onward that Unathi made up the bulk of space piracy. How will this be reflected on-station?: Character backgrounds. Does this addition do anything not achieved by what already exists?: Clarifies assumptions and missing information. Do you understand that the project may change over time in ways that you may not foresee once it is handed over to the Lore Team? Yes. Long Description: This will go under Fuedalism and Society. In The Compact The upper castes of the Compact are drawn from the population of (usually formerly) influential guild clans. These would be the rare Clans able to leave Moghes to work alongside the alien races in the early 2430's, or the later evacuations off of [[Moghes]] during or after the [[Contact War]]. With a background of wealth and education, even for modern pirate Sinta born into this class, these Sinta tend to make up the upper echelons within the Compact and within pirate fleets in general. The bulk of the lower castes of the Compact come from the historical diaspora of the peasantry from the 2430's, in which hundreds of thousands of Unathi were abducted, coerced, bribed, or convinced into leaving Moghes and subsequently enslaved, indebted, or recruited by existing pirate factions. During the Contact War these pirates would frequently negotiate the price for a shuttle flight off Moghes with the locals while a mushroom cloud was actively rising over the local's former home. Even in contemporary pirate fleets, those born into these castes tend to remain there, with exceptions coming only to those with exceptional skill. Dread-Lords [...]

I apologize if my posts appear passive aggressive; it's not my intention. I can't speak to anything else about the human lore team or jabs. I'm not within the human lore channels enough to get the vibe. Other channels in emojiocracy were used for updates chosen by players, so I have no way to tell if human emojiocracy's joke is the retcon itself or if a retcon was planned and its the fact it was put to a vote was the punchline. Again, I'm not in on the joke. My OP is pretty silly. It's a very dumb question. And posts here have said there have been conflicting answers, and I've asked this question on discord and got "yes" and '"no" roughly the same. that is why i made it a thread; so it can get an official response visible to everyone else so hopefully it resolves the uncertainty. Discord answers will get gobbled up relatively fast.

My post sounds pretty snarky, and maybe that slipped out. The major disconnect here seems to be that there's inside jokes about atlas et al. It's a small club and I'm not in it. It's something i experience as a dungeons and dragons DM. I have the answers to a riddle and it seems to obvious. Meanwhile my players are floundering. I dont have the information, so the punchline to an inside joke doesnt mean anything. Just need a good solid answer please. I have free time so i could do a little bit of article summaries but human lore is vexing - due to the irony floating around it.
