After a hot chat regarding Elyra on discord I've figured out the issue with Elyra. The Current Times section.

I suggest deleting it completely. It focus on Islam within Elyra unnecessarily, adds a grim population disparity and throws in Islamic terrorism. All these to the supposedly noble bright faction of the setting. This has triggered a review of Elyra in which Islam and it's Arabic elements were recommended to be removed. Please don't do that.

Instead just remove this section. You don't even need to replace it tbh just get rid. No wonder people where worries about RPing an Elyran, that section implies they're space ISIS. Delet this.

Thank you for attending my Ted talk.

Could just say that all populations are tolerated and remove the portion about religious tension because that's super ridiculous. There's no reason to delete Elyra, a lot of people play Elyran characters.

The topic is about deleting the "Current times" section, not the entire entity.

Anyway yeah you can basically delete it or time everything between "Elyra today..." and "Domestically..." and it'll be way better.

Ah, that was my misunderstanding coming into this thread.

Yeah, this seems like an easy fix. The noble-bright state in the Aurora universe shouldn't have the religious and ethnic stability of mid-war Syria.

What an odd addition that seniorscore added. Its not ever been played with or represented. Elyra has a small but dedicated followinh. I support zundys suggestion.

Here's the section for those too lazy to check.

From this, I don't actually see any issue in it. There's no great emphasis placed on the tensions that would otherwise paint the nation as 'struggling' with said issues, and it seems to add a nice bit of a grounding factor in their lore. It gives a cultural focus, adds a bit of flavour to the living conditions via a wholly realistic disparity and gives just a hint of 'internal problems'.

Writing any of these out would only result in an unimmersive and quite frankly boring faction, instead they should be fleshed out and expanded on.
