Zundy Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 To explain, I played the other day as a human and consumed (at least): 5 beers 5 grogs 3.5 champagne 3.5 White wine 14 gins Only when my character was on the gin did they start to actually get buzzed/drunk. He could've slammed beers, grogs and wines all day I'd imagine with little issue. I'd like to see "low alcohol" drinks like beer/grog be given a bit of a boost in alcohol content. As a baseline, maybe 2 beers for a buzz, 3 for tipsy, 5 drunk. I'm not precious on the numbers but I'd like to see drunk effects actually kick in otherwise how am I supposed to SLAM A FEW GROGS WITH MY MATES if they don't do anything. Thoughts?
wowzewow Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 Alcohol metabolism has been completely confubbernucked post-brainmed.
Carver Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 Seems like brainmed needs brain-booze - or Bay devs just didn't believe in strong liquor.
Doxxmedearly Posted July 10, 2020 Posted July 10, 2020 I updated the code to help people get drunk again after brainmed but unfortunately things like beer and grog are too low-strength to balance well. I will see about revisiting it.

If anything it may just be easier to nerf the liver further. Edited July 10, 2020 by Doxxmedearly

How about no, do not nerf the liver to a point we go back to when it was super sensitive to toxins. Medical struggled to save a patient with a toxin cascade because of the liver being weak, leading to kidney failure. What happens when the kidney’s fail? Potassium starts producing, this is the killer of all patients suffering toxins. I advise trying to make alcohol potent without causing you to keel over and die in a corner after two drinks due to weak livers. Anyway, I support increasing the effectiveness of alcohol as it is a joke right now.

Not only did I port all of the things you're mentioning, I also nerfed them, and you also missed the point completely, because alcohol and toxin processing is separate. wowzewow Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 ...so are we going to nerf liver alcohol processing or buff alcohol power?
Doxxmedearly Posted July 12, 2020 Posted July 12, 2020 (edited) It would be more consistent across the board to do the former. Edited July 12, 2020 by Doxxmedearly

Zundy Posted July 23, 2020 Author Posted July 23, 2020 My jaw aches because I've been trying to play a Japanese Flute, thank you for this PR.
Doxxmedearly Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 This is in. If this is still not enough for the weaker drinks, the only thing left is to increase their strength. I'll leave this thread open for more feedback.
