SgtSammac Posted July 26, 2020 Posted July 26, 2020 Bit of a three parter, checked with Skull before creating. Overall all suggestions work as a one part overhaul for our EMT/Paramedic Role. 1. Jumpsuit New Uniform for EMT's instead of scrubs. Currently have 3 variations I'd love feedback on. EMT Blue: Blue Jumpsuit with Light Green Medical Department markings. Spoiler EMT Green: Dark Green Jumpsuit with Light Green Medical Department Markings Spoiler EMT White: White Jumpsuit with Dark Green Legs and Dark Green Medical Department Markings Spoiler 2. EMT Jacket Finally a replacement for that vomit coloured monstrosity, again a couple of variants. Blue with Hi-Vis or Green plain. Spoiler 3. EMT Backpack New medical backpack, and organisation pouches to match. Available in 3 Colours currently - Red, Blue, Green. Currently got 2 ideas in mind for how it could work mayhaps. A: Straight up replacement for the department backpack given to EMT's. B: Spawn 1/2 in EMT quarters and/or Medical Storage, to act as "grab packs" that EMT's can use instead of their white medical department bags. The pouches are designed to act the same as cardboard boxes, to organise items within the backpack/allow more stuff to be stored, depending how OCD a medic wants to be. Spoiler (Just need to do in-hand sprites.) Ideally I'd love some feedback to refine and improve. Not currently too clued up on Coding, it's been a long time. So Ideally I'd be handing the sprites over to a Dev team coder who'd be willing to help implement.
Doc Posted July 27, 2020 Posted July 27, 2020 Of the three jumpsuits, I prefer the green or white. As for the storage options, I unfortunately have to say that I don't think they mesh too well with existing bags and satchels, though it's a good effort. There is, however, an existing-and-unused sprite currently buried in our codebase that, with a brief color adjustment (that neon yellow to white, the forest-green to med's pale-green) could be reused very readily.

Fair enough, valid thoughts. Yes, I remember that EMT pack from back in my original days.... or at least I remember drawing something very similar. But alas was again something that never used. TBF even its colours as is would work, in particular if combined with the suggested EMT uniforms above.
furrycactus Posted July 28, 2020 Posted July 28, 2020 I can get behind the white jumpsuit for the EMTs, and also I really really really really like the green jacket. If high-vis stripes could be put on it, that would be perfect. I advise against using blue colours for medical uniforms, however, because the Aurora medical colours are represented by the colour green, while blue represents the Interstellar Aid Corps. The bags are alright, if a bit bulky for my own liking, but that's not so much of an issue; however, Doc was right, they don't particularly mesh with our existing bags. Also, you should perhaps consider spriting Satchels as well if you're doing Backpacks. I think this stuff looks good over all though, and is an improvement on what we currently have.

I can certainly look at adding the hi-vis piping to the green one. 1 hour ago, furrycactus said: The bags are alright, if a bit bulky for my own liking, but that's not so much of an issue; however, Doc was right, they don't particularly mesh with our existing bags. Given the kit they have to hold, they can be bulky and unwieldy. God knows I’ve got enough of them. Hence part of the suggestion where they are added as a “grab bag” type and yes. I certainly can do satchel and/or duffel bag style ones too I’ll see what I can do to make them fit the others a bit more thematically.
SgtSammac Posted July 29, 2020 Author Posted July 29, 2020 Just a mini update for now, with the EMT-Green jacket updated to have the Hi-Visibility stripes.
Carver Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 EMT White is going to retain the nice, long sleeves from the OP as an option, yes?

I did options for rolled and unrolled sleeves to work with the verb. I just haven’t done a rolled down/shirtless version. Edited July 31, 2020 by SgtSammac

Haydizzle Posted July 31, 2020 Posted July 31, 2020 This thread is looking really good. I enjoy how these look!

EDIT: Because I'd heard a few people talk about it. Have a EMT Tac Vest / EMT Chest rig. Did a few colour options again because I'm not sure what would work best. Brown - Was just the original colour of the reference material that gave me the idea. Green - Because medic colours White - Original chest rig colour Red - Ehhh? Dark/Black - Almost lore wise could work. "Oh look, we have some surplus tac vests from security. Lets just put some badges on and chuck 'em at the EMT's." Edited August 2, 2020 by SgtSammac Added EMT Chestrig
geeves Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 Jumpsuit: I think the white jumpsuit looks the best.Jacket: Green plain looks best. Could you toss a little white and brighter green in there? It looks a bit desaturated.Backpacks: Not much of an opinion on them myself. The shape looks really nice though.Vest: White looks the best, black looks a little too much like armor at a glance, imo. Really nice sprites! I can implement these once the feedback process is over, if you'd like.

geeves Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 I'll tell ya over DMs, easier to explain that way.
SgtSammac Posted August 4, 2020 Author Posted August 4, 2020 FINALISATION! Based on feedback recieved. I've managed to finalise my suggestion and prepare it for a PR. I have nixxed my idea for EMT backpack for now. So my suggestion currently only overhauls: - EMT Jumpsuit - EMT Chestrig/Vest - EMT Jacket Vest: Jacket:
Sheeplets Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Dude these finalized designs look absolutely dope, especially the rig. I hope they get merged.
