  1. Since I've been namedropped in this complaint I suppose I should chime in. I regularly played a First Responder in Medical for the past three years. I consider myself decently knowledgeable, and believe I have a firm understanding of how the department works. In that time I've had dozens upon dozens of FR partners and through them I've experienced both the best and worst that this community has to offer. That being said? Riona Kelly is without a doubt one of, if not outright the single worst person that I have ever worked with. Period. In the past I've played with people who were incompetent to a degree that it came at the expense of the people they try to save during rounds, whether due to a lack of understanding and knowledge or because they just can't wrap their head around things. And you know what, that's okay. At the end of the day this is a game and everyone plays here to have fun. They're just doing their best, and they make an effort to learn and do better. She isn't one of those people. Sat squarely on the left-most end of the Dunning Kruger bell curve, Kelly is an overly hostile, inept, and frankly childish narcissist who refuses to ever take responsibility for her own mistakes. It's all about her, always. She's the "protagonist" of the round and she just can't work with people. At all. She refuses to cooperate with anyone. If she fumbles and drops the ball she makes it a point to blame anyone other than herself. This frequently comes at the expense of others, namely the people who she gets killed and the people she throws under the bus to save her own skin. We've tried to teach her, and it's not for lack of experience. She's always here. Kelly plays upwards of five rounds a day. She readies for just about every single round in a given day. She just will not listen. She's been confronted before by other people and they've only been met with hostility and rudeness. Despite this, she seems to be under the grand delusion that she's the smartest person in any given room. She possesses a massively overinflated ego that won't let her be wrong. The most intelligent response to constructive criticism that I've seen come from her has been along the lines of "Go fuck yourself", "fuck you", or "fuck you, I don't care". To the point where having observed this sort of behavior across Sparta's other characters I'm convinced there's absolutely no "character" to speak of. She doesn't mistreat the people around her as some kind of well written character flaw. There's fantastic examples of characters who are jerks in constructive ways that enable good roleplay. This isn't the case. I'm one hundred percent convinced that Sparta is full on OOC-in-IC and treats people like absolute shit for the sake of it. I mean, I don't really know what else to say. Every single time I've seen Riona Kelly's name on a crew manifest I've had to talk myself into actually joining just because I haven't wanted to put up with her attitude or her negligence. Her playing here turns that into a conscious decision of whether or not it's even worth it. She makes rounds utterly miserable and I don't even think she possesses the maturity and self-awareness to realize it and make any meaningful changes to her conduct. I've spoken to multiple people who've expressed the same sentiment, and I think it's gone on for far too long. Enough is enough.
  2. Scarring for limbs, same as organs? As a concept I like it. Seems like a sensible tradeoff in exchange for being able to instantly heal an otherwise massive amount of damage.
  3. Me "taps a button on their hardsuit gauntlet."\nToggle-Boots\nToggle-Chestpiece\nToggle-Gauntlets\nToggle-Helmet

Here's a fun little macro that'll deploy or collapse your hardsuit in a single, stylish button press. It comes in handy a lot.

    1. goolie
    2. Melariara

      Melariara

Thought you were calling someone out there for the amount of times they've hit that macro on accident.

      Damn.

  4. Give Pun Pun's cage radiation shielding. She's basically just a radiation poisoning mini-game for paramedics right now.
  5. I've lost count of the number of times in Medical where we've been forced to neglect someone with a broken bone because the brute damage on the area was over the threshold where it automatically re-breaks upon being repaired. Even with regenerative medicines available and working. I've seen cases where we've had to wait upwards of twenty minutes for someone to heal off enough damage for us to be able to fix them and send them on their way. It's a pain in the ass and I can't imagine that it's fun for anyone involved, especially not the person glued to an operating table or a stretcher for half an hour because of it. Just let us fix the damage with surgery. Or, alternatively, make it so those bones don't instantly re-break.
  6. I keep trying to ctrl-click to pull people while I'm on grab intent and accidentally slamming into them. It's super embarrassing. It'd be nice if we could move it to another macro, or just have the ability to toggle it off outright.
  7. Please don't put a massive tree in the middle of the room. It's just going to take up space in one of the common areas where you'd expect people to be end up packed into more often than not. I like Dreamix's idea of just replacing the dance floor with the table. It's practical and it makes sense for where it's at.
  8. Good. The recreational areas have always been wasted space. I'm happy to see them gone.
  9. If we implement this we need to make sure that wherever it shows up it's very obviously marked as only being flavor text with no room for misinterpretation. New players in the department already have a hard enough time decoding gibberish, memorizing dozens of medications, and working through the laundry list of other systems involved. If we mix fluff in with the mechanically relevant info it'd likely end up (unintentionally) confusing them.
  10. I'd like to at least try this for a while. There's no harm in giving it an attempt, even if it doesn't work out. I don't like commiting upwards of three hours of my day to a single round with how things are now.
  11. Ramke is one of my favorite faces to see in a round. Her characters are fun and well executed. Sure, I'll cosign on this. +1
  12. Yeah, sure. I'm tired of seeing people argue this point in circles. Let's just leave the surgery to surgeons and be done with it.
  13. can't give specifics but I shit the bed and got on the WRONG guy's bad side 100% sure this mfer is putting out a hit to get me whacked and I need protection PRONTO Must be exmil or ex corpsec and AT LEAST 6'0" (skrell also accepted if ur good at the psionic radar shit) serious replies only
  14. I have an incredibly hard time with the multitasking that this game requires between the game and chat windows, and I rely on highlights pretty heavily to help pick up the slack when my eyes and (lacking) attention span fall short. The problem is that I need different, important keywords highlighted depending on what characters I'm playing. It's a pain to have to manually set them every single round when I want to swap between my roster just so I can keep up with the pace of the round. I'd appreciate if we added more slots.
  15. Going off the hub would probably be fine. Just be sure to include the server's address in an announcement on the main Discord a few hours beforehand so people are aware.
  16. If we did this at all I'd like see the XO only elevated if there's a captain present, so they can act sort of like his little liaison and pass orders down the chain and make small judgement calls for the him, so the captain isn't overburdened. Otherwise, if there's no captain we'd stay with the current tribunal system so the XO can't become the defacto mini-captain and boss around the rest of the heads of staff.
  17. I'd have to agree with this, the emojis only ever seem to get used to passive aggressively snipe at other people or more recently to just completely and utterly dogpile a certain, unnamed someone's post(s) straight to hell.
  18. You know, I'm thinking about it a bit harder. Was the pistol a chameleon gun? If it was then I apologize for misunderstanding that part if that's the case. The second part was still pretty sus though. Edit: No, it wasn't. It was a real pulse pistol, he probably only survived because he had a helmet on.
  19. I watched you (as Navarre) point blank a bridge crewman multiple times in the face last night because he accidentally mistook you for a raider and shot you. Because you were stood overtop of a half-dead person and wearing an identical combat voidsuit as one of the ones roaming the station. He apologized both IC and in LOOC because he genuinely made a mistake, you shouted "MOTHERFUCKER" and shot him anyways. Not long after this you came to Medical once one of the surviving raiders got out of surgery and yanked them off of the stretcher and assaulted them, got flashbanged by them, proceeded to chase them up the stairs with multiple (splinted) broken bones when they fled, and then beat them with two other Security officers using batons. I imagine this is because earlier in the round their team killed a few other officers? I'm not entirely sure about your reasoning. I'm going to assume (and at least hope) you had a halfway decent one. I haven't seen much of you or your other characters besides this, but from what little I did see I'm not really confident in your ability to keep your head on straight. Especially since you want to play a captain, someone who holds a massive amount of sway over rounds and can make or break them singlehandedly. None of what I saw was cool and you screwed people over with your behavior. I wouldn't want to see you in a position to do that on a larger scale. -1
  20. I like Don's suggestion to just add a TTS program. We already have speech-to-text on messengers, it would fit nicely alongside that.
  21. I always end up throwing out half of my roundstart clothes anyways. I think a lot of other people do too. It'd be nice if character creation listed what we're going to get, and allowed us to pick and choose what we'd like to leave behind.
  22. Paxazide is a niche little gimmick chemical that makes it so you can't harm people or throw things, it's fun but mostly useless. As it stands there's absolutely no other way to drop a hulk besides executing them. Getting hulked as a vampire, or worse, getting embraced by one is going to be the end of your round unless you manage to snub out the frenzy counter the very second it starts. More often than not that doesn't happen. My suggestion is for paxazide to give you big font green RP messages in the chat box telling you that you aren't forced to attack everyone you see anymore, make it so you aren't locked into shouting in all-caps, and to reset your frenzy blood counter to zero so long as it stays in your bloodstream - while at the same time not outright de-hulking you. If for no other reason than because if it did that people would probably abuse it to make you vulnerable and then instantly kill you. Ideally this gives you a window of clarity to try and deescalate things without absolutely needing to killed. At the very least you could have one more meaningful conversation before you die. Something that isn't "AAAARRGGGH!!!! GIVE ME BLOOD!!!!!"
