Ramke Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 (edited) CCIA Staff Application Basic Information Byond key: Ramke Character names: Valetzrhonaja Al-Thaalzir, Takiyah Nihalkir, Zohra El-Thaarhrar, Kismet Al-Hamdan, Nasira Nahnikh - there's more, but they won't be well-known Age: 25 Timezone: GMT What times are you most available?: 5pm-midnight Experience How long have you played SS13?:Around a year How long have you played on Aurora?: Aurora is the only server I have played, same as above How active on the forums, discord and/or server are you? Like most people, I only use forums if I'm looking something up as it's not active outside of rare discussions. I'm active on the discords and server on a daily level, usually. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?: N/A Have you ever volunteered as moderation staff for any other servers, SS13 or otherwise?: I have been a headmin and am currently an admin-on-vacation in a different game/community Do you have any other experience that you believe would be relevant to a position in the CCIA?: No - not directly, at least. I have been many things in the community linked above including event organiser, moderator, admin, headmin, uofficial developer and faction leader. Personality Why do you want to join the CCIA?: I have a primitive brain and as a result like the fax machine. I'd like to help contribute providing some driving force for gimmicks and IC interactions between CCIA and Command. Representing the head honchos of the corporation and playing part in their investigations sounds exciting. What do you think are the most important qualities for a CCIA Agent to possess?: The ability to separate the icky from the ocky. The ability to step away and not involve yourself in situations where you are biased or already involved. A good vision and understanding of round flow, and knowing how your actions would influence it. Lastly, the desire to learn everything there is before making a decision. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is in an ongoing round?: To help drive a gimmick and round flow, enforce consequences, motivate Command/the crew and provide a realistic background/setting. The CCIA Agent is the representation of higher-ups that loom over the station and want to ensure that it remains in working order and produces results. What do you think the purpose of a CCIA Agent is outside of the server?: To investigate and impose consequences for those who stepped over the line (IRs), clear up any misconceptions and provide support relating to Command/leadership/etc. If there are any more obligations, I'm not aware. How do you handle stress?: If something is getting to you, step away and come back with a calm head. If it's not something you can step away from and have to remain in there, divide the situation into chunks and address it in terms of priority to not overload yourself. I would like to think I handle stress well this way. How well do you work autonomously? I would like to think I work well autonomously once I'm familiar with what I am doing. I'll probably be asking a lot of questions and second opinions before that. Additional Notes: I'm definitely more of a newer player to SS13 and probably not very well known so feel free to be judgmental about it. Desven Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 I think Ramke is a great player in the community. Her characters are great and she has an ability to get immersed. We've spoken about her experience in that other space game before (can't recall the name) and that's basically why I told her that applying for CCIA is a good idea.

DatSamTho Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 (edited) Alright, I didn't actually know you were on trial, so sorry if this is a bit late. (Also sorry if this WASN'T you, and it'll be really awkward if it wasn't, but I'm fairly certain it was, lol) I played Xioshi, my HoS, in a round where the captain died, I relayed the information to Central, who sent an investigator over, who was almost IMMEDIATELY assassinated. When we got to the Odin, there was a full entourage of CCIA personel waiting for command. It was the BEST dressing down I have ever recieved, it was the best level of Central involvement (including some I didn't mention) I've ever seen on my time I've played on this server, no joke. +1 a hundred times over from me. KingOfThePing Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 Sorry to tell you, but that was actually me. I wrote the replies and boarded as the overseeing agent. It was not actually planned to die that that but such can be the game! I thought it would give the round a bit more traction. The full welcoming committee was also actually me as the Commander and Prate as the CCSA, together with some ghosts from dchat as the troopers. But I am happy to read you liked it, I try to do things like these whenever I can and in the capacity I am able to.

Triogenix Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 So, I'm making an assumption that due to the fact you were the only CCIAA I saw on the staff list at the time of the fax that you wrote it, apologies if not. During round cfh-dz1r, the one that just ended as I post this, a fax was sent to the station about their issues with changelings, which contained the following. "I have passed the information of this biohazard across to the scientists at Upsilon, and they might be interested in recovering live specimens or their remains for study. Please keep them in ideal condition - if dead, ensure they remain at a quarantined cold storage." My issue/feedback about the fax is that at the time of sending, there was a near full science department, who could have also gotten interaction from the changeling(even though there wasn't a xenobio I believe the point stands). Instead, command was ordered to essentially not let the local science department touch the changeling, even if it was a just a corpse, and leave it for a bunch of non-characters who won't have any impact on the round. I think a better fax to send would have been "I have passed the information of this biohazard up the chain to my superiors, and they are interested in the recovery of live specimens for study. Please attempt to capture one alive and deliver to your science department. If the department is unable to complete an effective study, contain and hold it under quarantine, dead or alive, until a specialized research team can arrive." As this would give a chance of interaction to the science department.
Bear Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 (edited) Keep in mind faxing is often something done by those in round, and otherwise on the fly, so some faxes may not get as much attention as others. Often time misconceptions are very easy to make when interpreting faxes. If this is the exact wording of their fax, you were never forbidden from touching it. Merely keeping them in ideal condition. This is a fair expectation so I cannot fault Ramke's fax here. However, the takeaway here is further in-depth explanation is important and can drastically keep misconceptions from occurring. Butterrobber202 Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 I thought Ramke's response during that round was perfectly acceptable. The Aurora has been demoted in importance, and it makes more than enough sense that the Odin would simply have them contain it until it can be transported to a more advanced facility. I was playing Alemnu Markos during the round, and acted on Ramke's fax. I was pleasantly surprised I received one at all during such a chaotic round.
Yaku Posted December 21, 2021 Posted December 21, 2021 So... i don't have any command whitelist but i've gotten into a IC incident where CCIA was involved and thought it be worth mentioning aswell A couple days after the incident i've gotten a message from Ramke to conduct an interview, to which i attended. Ramke's CCIA character was and stayed proffesional, considering mine was a nervous wreck. The interview was interesting and she also brought up some good and interesting questions. Overall it went smooth. After the interview i had some doubts if it will become an OOC issue aswell. However Ramke assured me that it was all IC. Over Discord she was pleasant to talk to and was friendly. After a couple days i received the conclusion of the incident. I was happy with it and loved the solution that was brought up. Overall +1 from me

Bear put what I was thinking into words much better then I believe I myself did. My issue was with my own misconception brought on by the fax(I was not playing in the round just saw the fax), and how it seemed to myself that they wished for no-one to even touch it. My apologies if I came off rude in the original post.
