Susan Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 BYOND Key: SuetheCake Player Byond Key: Sleepywolf; Jammybeard Staff involved: BakaGaijin (witness to one event), VoltageHero Reason for complaint: Borderline griefing, self-antagging as non-antags. Approximate Date/Time: Multiple times, multiple days. Sleepywolf (Arizona) and Jammybeard (Leroy McShackle) have, these past few days, consistently took part in antagonistic behaviors as non-antags. The most prevalent example I have of this is a round wherein I was ghosted. The two were operating on each other in the cargo bay and after being reprimanded by Samantha Mason, the Chief Medical Officer, continued to fuck around and chopped their own arms off. Like, they sawed their arms off. Security was ordered to arrest them, so both individuals decided the best way to handle this situation was to fuck off to the asteroid and run around in space until they 'discovered' the abandoned outpost. It was there that Arizona performed one-arm ghetto surgery on Leroy magically through his hardsuit somehow. Arizona then broke into the research outpost to gain access to the medical section to treat Leroy. Neither of these individuals were antags. Let's recount what they've done so far: Performed surgery as cargo techs. Cut their own limbs off, totally sane, right. Resisted arrest, fled EVA, led security on a wild goose chase when it was just two cadets who couldn't do anything. Disregarded RP for metafriendship; that being, operating through a space suit just to save Jammy. Infiltrated into research areas. That was one round. The most recent round, that being a nuclear round today (July 18th), Jammybeard raided the damaged vault and had ordered or stolen equipment somehow. He had an ablative vest. He evaded arrest, and was helped by his accomplice Arizona, who did not simply impede security efforts; he disarmed the officer, stole their baton, and stuffed them into a closet which he then locked. VoltageHero ruled that this was an 'IC issue' but given the fact that these two individuals consistently fuck around together I want to call bullshit on that opinion. It was also brought to my attention no staff wanted to handle the first severe issue of self-antagging, as Baka could not due to being involved. This is inexcusable. Even now, as non-antags, they do things like order contraband crates. I can count two rounds wherein I have seen them do this. This behavior needs to be curbed.
Garnascus Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Hi today I was granted a trial moderator period and I helped with the specific incident in cargo. After questioning both individuals I felt that this specific situation was reasonable RP. The reasoning I had brought to me was that jammy,s character is very opprutunistic and essentially made a grab for loot when he saw an opprutunity. Arizona's defense was that he did not want to get arrested which I admit was shaky but considering he did not harm the officer or try to harm the officer while she was incapacitated I asked opinions in mod chat and reasoned it was acceptable RP. I did also issue a warning to Arizona the next round for three separate instances of this type of play. Any other past actions I had no knowledge of. including also any other actions of jammy so I can only comment on what I personally saw.
VoltageHero Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 While I could be wrong, I don't believe I was the one who responded to your ahelp. Seeing as I was the officer locked in the locker by the IPC, I didn't feel that it was justified to respond to the ahelp, although these may be different cases that I am thinking about. I do not know who actually responded to the ahelp regarding that, but they may.
Guest Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Okay. Sleepy Wolf has been chucklefucking numerous times on numerous occasions throughout their time playing here, making a very sour experience for other players. They have a rather extended repertoire of characters that suddenly disappear as soon as an incident report pops up about them. And never to be seen ever again. There is no way I can see from a perspective as a Duty Officer that this kind of behavior is 'just an IC issue,' nor is it possible/worth the effort to deal with it. These issues are rather recurrent among almost every character Sleepy plays. This is becoming an OOC issue (if it hasn't already), and this hasn't stopped.
Shadow Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 I can confirm what they both did but also unable to act since I was involved in the round. You pretty much said anything they did.
Dreamix Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Performed surgery as cargo techs.Cut their own limbs off, totally sane, right. Resisted arrest, fled EVA, led security on a wild goose chase when it was just two cadets who couldn't do anything. Disregarded RP for metafriendship; that being, operating through a space suit just to save Jammy. Infiltrated into research areas. I can confirm what Sue said. I was one of the cadets that round. Please add that to the list: deconstructing the mining shuttle console and top levels of roleplay. When we were ordered by Baka's character to arrest them, we gently asked them to come with us. I wanted to add that it will be literally 10 minute charge, unless heads say otherwise. They then showed that they are on HRP server, by calling us "NERDS1" and walking away while insulting "shitcurity" and "bitchmason" on comms (I don't remember how exactly these insults were worded). Shortly after that, I was needed to cryo-self. They were so antaggy and meta/powergamey, I can't even. Seriously, cutting your own arm to not let security catch you, even if security=two girly, young cadets? Do cargo technicians even know how to perform surgery? And non-sterile environment is totally not a problem. And shuttle console obviously has a manual how to deconstruct it. There needs something to be done about that. And IIRC, that was not their first self-antaggy round.
Chaznoodles Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 1. Did the first issue affect anyone who deliberately interfered? 2. When they went to the mining outpost, did they affect anyone except those who again deliberately interfered? From my viewpoint, the first issue only seems to make people 'sour' because they're trying to push in. If it's going to make you 'sour', don't get involved. 1. Were the nuke ops hostile at the time of the occurrence? 2. What was the reason for Security getting involved? As far as I can see, it would be perfectly acceptable in a roleplay situation to order things to protect yourself when in danger, as well as to stop someone from chasing you who could quite possibly harm you too. I don't feel the 'metafriendship' is any different than that the established players have either.
Baka Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Hi, here's my side of the story. I join as CMO and immediately as I was setting up I received a message from a security cadet (can't tell if it was from swat or dreamix) of an IPC needing mechanical help and a quartermaster preforming ghetto surgery. I go to cargo to see Jammybeard, the QM with a surgery crate in his possession, operating on Arizona who was laying on the table, missing an arm. I was less than impressed, deciding that they were both fucking about and Jammy's QM was not qualified to play with surgery tools and ordered them arrested for running a chop shop. This lead to being compared to literally Hitler over comms. As a revenge thing, Jammybeard and Arizona preformed anesthetic-free surgery on Jammybeard's arm, removing it, and sent it through disposals to my office. At this point, it sparked a manhunt as they were hiding in maints behind a false wall, but Jammy had his sensors on so he was found quite easily. He had on a welding mask, making it difficult for the cadets to flash them, so I decided to defib him since he was: a.) difficult to cuff, b.) difficult to flash, c.) it was a low pop. round and there was no other way to detain them. I understand as a CMO it was a crap move but the cadet had no other avenue to turn to and perhaps next time I should had used the syringe gun. I eventually gave up and threw a straight jacket to the cadets, and then went back to my duties in medical. Jammy and Sleepy slipped off into the asteroid to explore, I believe a hardsuit was punctured, and Jammy's lung ruptured. Cue in Sleepy who tried to preform surgery on Jammy but didn't had the right tools, which caused him to lose a lot of blood, hacking up his lungs. At the end of the round, I received him into my care, he had lost 60% of his blood. My character had to get a straight jacket on them so that they wouldn't had ran away again, but he was in terrible shape with a punctured lung and infection, and by the time I preformed surgery on them, they died due to infection. I also recall making a note to Skull that they were causing more trouble than the antags themselves, but eh. Jammy died because of their actions in the end.
SierraKomodo Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 1. Did the first issue affect anyone who deliberately interfered?2. When they went to the mining outpost, did they affect anyone except those who again deliberately interfered? Them going to the mining outpost and disabling the console pretty much made my mining character that joined midround unable to do their work, and left me with nobody in cargo to interact with. Turned the round into bar chair RP for me from the moment I showed up, until the shuttle. I thought they were traitors/antags or something so I didn't think anything of it at the time.
swat43 Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Eeeyup, i was one of the cadets that round, as Nicole Clarke, and preety much, it was more of a coincidence and that chef or barman said that there was window breaking, that i came up to cargo, and then noticing that Arizona was getting her hand reattached or removed, i don't even know what exactly happened, so i warned CMO (Aka. Baka) and at that time. another cadet came onboard at that time, which was dreampix. After i sent message of the said actions happening on cargo, CMO ordered us to detain these two people, and while we asked of them to come out nice and easy and with out conflict, they resisted and calling us Nerds, bad mouthing CMO, cadets, and after a while, we found them in maintnance, with both of them having hands of, except Arizona, which had only one, it was hard to capture the said convicts due to 1st. Cargo tech had welding helmet and cadets only had flashes 2nd. IPC's are not affected by flashes 3rd. They had no hands to even cuff them, which is silly and annoying at the same time, giving cadets no real way to subdue the people, untill CMO gave us straight jacket, but untill then, they already ran off to mining outpost and were off to EVA. After a while, dreampix had to go afk, and so did i, since i had real life issues to attend to. I've got only one question.... why did they both broke numerous server rules as an antag for what purpose?
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 I don't at all agree with Chaz. Self-mutilation and antagonistic actions is not acceptable if you're not an antagonist, just for facing 10 minutes of brig time. There's being a hassle, and then there's being self-antag in a situation that makes no sense. From the evidence provided I see little reason to consider their actions as anything other than rule breaking.
Jennalele Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Alright. Let's take a break here, sit back, and wait for Sleepywolf and Jammybeard's sides of the story. We will go from there.
SleepyWolf Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Arizona has a natural hate towards humans, and everything they stand for. He's been trying to give reasons why Leroy should be an IPC, to avoid the pain and all that.
Jammybeard Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 The evidence is damning and correct, Ive been known in the past for doing somewhat whimsical shcemes but its apparent I have taken it too far this time and I knew myself afterwards that this behaviour was not cool. Sorry for not responding to this sooner my absence from the server has been coincedental .The RP excuse for the surgery on Arizona in hindsight is feeble at best at the time I thought I was making the round fun and interesting however in hindsight it was obviously irritating and a nuisance for the security and command staff involved I will tone this behaviour down in future. Im sad that these has left a black stain on my character and soured relashonships but I apologise and promise to halt this antagonistic behaviour.
Guest Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Wolf, that's a really, really poor excuse. If he hates all humans, he wouldn't be allowed to work on a station with humans. It seems like all you really do is chucklefuck, and try to get a reaction out of people.
Shadow Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Honestly, I have a real problem with Arizona because breaking into genetics stealing protohumans and flushing them down disposals for the "Ayy lmao" effect is just bad. I suggest that you maybe play another IPC or a human for a while but I can't tell you how to play your characters.
Jennalele Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 After deliberation and speaking to the players in question, SleepyWolf has been stripped of their IPC whitelist. The complaint will be left open for 24 hours, then locked and archived.
