UnknownMurder Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Is the Syndicate Transmission open to the public, and anyone can set up any contracts like Agent 47 contracts in Absolution? Quote
0 Dreviore Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Is the Syndicate Transmission open to the public, and anyone can set up any contracts like Agent 47 contracts in Absolution? I believe IC it's open to all Syndicate operatives. OOC anyone can access it. Quote
0 UnknownMurder Posted March 17, 2016 Author Posted March 17, 2016 Syndicate Operatives are chosen or... Can step in anytime? Quote
0 Gollee Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Nuke ops/traitors etc. They are syndi ops. Quote
0 LordFowl Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Anyone can post in the Syndicate forums as a Syndicate operative with little to no discrimination - you do not necessarily need to obey the rules of their club when it comes to format. However, having an IC character be an official Syndicate operative or post a bounty or request to the Syndicate is typically frowned upon. Quote
0 Dreviore Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Syndicate Operatives are chosen or... Can step in anytime? I think the Syndicate Operators are people with like minded visions about how the system should be. Basically if you feel a certain way about the government and NanoTrasen, you'll be able to become a for hire Syndicate operative through the transmissions. Now Id like to think the actual Syndicate system is based upon groups, and companies rather then some massive conglomerate. Say you're a small time researcher working with a group of 7 or so agents, you'd have financial backing by someone and act as a small guerilla team for the company so you can stay in business, but on the side you pickup contracts to make even more money. 0 SierraKomodo Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 As an antag in round, you can be a sydicate, or syndicate sympathizer as part f your gimmick for that round. It's not mandatory to go that route though, fully up to you; That subforum is mostly to give people some things to try doing/potential 'objectives' when antagging. Quote
0 UnknownMurder Posted March 17, 2016 Author Posted March 17, 2016 Ah. Alright. I wasn't expecting an influx of answers. Quote
0 Arrow768 Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 I havnt seen this thread until now, The better place to post contracts would be the webpanel(once I have changed the login system to work with the new forums) because they can then be accessed ingame via the traitor uplink. Quote
0 Nanako Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 I have an idea for a contract i'd like to post I'm looking at the web interface, and it's pretty neat. But i'm confused about the rewards thing, how is that actually done? Since money in accounts seems to be randomly generated each shift, would i withdraw what i can each round and pay it in installments? Or would an admin magically spawn the money for them? Or do we just pretend that pyment happened and noe xchange really takes place. i'm confused about the RP of it, i guess Quote

0 Arrow768 Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Right now: We just pretend that the payment happened. Basically the "workflow" is like that: * Contract gets posted * Contract gets approved by moderator --> Visible to everyone and ingame via pda * Messages can be posted on a contract --> If you post on a contract you are automatically subscribed to further updates * If a success message is posted the contract is marked as completed and the contract creator has the option to confirm the completion or reject the completion --> If confirmed, the credits are "transferred" and the contract is marked as closed. --> If rejected the contract is marked as open again Later on once / if we implement a economy system credits will be transferred automatically. But there will also be a field for "other reward", so people can offer different rewards that are not transferred automatically. If thats done its recommended to just make a ooc remark on how the reward will be handled (ic-meeting, simulate a transfer, ...) But ic character credits != syndie credits. Because the one is tied to a IC Character where as the other is tied to a player on the server. There are already a few ideas lurking around the discord dev chatroom on what to do with the syndie credits once/if they are implemented (Also they will most likely be renamed to something else then credits to be less confusing) Quote
0 Ladylan Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I also have a few questions regarding the same topic! I've seen people sell stuff on the transmission, are these items actually traded in game or is it just to create roleplay? Afaik taking items to the next round isn't possible. Another thing that I keep asking myself is how does one kidnap someone during a contract? My last question is: Is it allowed to play as a syndicate member when you are no antagonist? I want to roleplay someone that isn't loyal to Nanotrasen and I don't feel like hoping to become a antag for a round either. Quote
0 Skull132 Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 It's technically possible to fulfill smaller end contracts without being an antag. Though, something as high as kidnapping will require you to be an antag. You can always ahelp to be an antag, and I'll be fixing autotraitor shortly, which means more chance to be traitor for everyone. Quote
