ClearThoughts Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Its all fine and dandy that they get lasers and shields. That's cool because its gives them a threat level. What's impossible about them is that they sit in your face at melee range, and you cant get a shot off because they're too damn close for the guns to fire. Make combat drones stay like, 1-2 spaces away from you and shoot at you rather than flying into your face at maximum velocity.

Its an issue with the mob code as a whole, but if I remember right there are some Syndie mobs that did keep there distance when they shot people, soooo I'll have a look at that and keep you updated! Thanks for the suggestion dewd! <3
Carver Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Have you attempted to shoot behind them? That's how I aimed (For both close and distant targets) on the old code, tho unsure if it works nowadays.
Guest Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 It's less accurate if you shoot behind drones nowadays. You will never miss if you click directly on the sprite and your target is within your gun's effective accuracy range. You cannot point-blank simple mobs, however.
Guest Marlon Phoenix Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 This sounds like a you problem. You can use a melee weapon or use harm intent to fire at close range.
Guest Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Harm intent, click, point blank. Don't believe it works for simple mobs. It defaults to hitting them with your weapon instead of shooting them.

UnknownMurder Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Ever tried shooting the turf behind the mob? I tend to do this whenever anything comes up in my face.
Nanako Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Everyone seems to focus on how to kill them. The problem i see here is that a creature with ranged attacks is getting into melee range, why is it doing that?. Realistically it's a poor tactical choice, and these are supposed to be advanced military drones. They should be retreating and firing so they can easily outmatch anyone armed with melee weapons. Their tactics don't make sense, it should be changed. for reasons of logic and believability, not because it makes them hard
