Garnascus Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Ever since the running update slippery floors have become pretty much a non-issue. It used to be that if you where "RUNNING" over a wet floor your character would slip and fall down. If you where "WALKING" you would not slip. This is still the case except "WALKING" has now become the old "RUN" and the new "RUN" is now a faster form of movement than was previously achievable. Space lube will slip you regardless. I think slips are hilarious and integral to "CONFLICT ROLEPLAY" The joy of watching people slip past you in the hall and then you point at a wet floor sign... its amazing.
NoahKirchner Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 I still slip on wet floors as antag and security every now and then, I feel like requiring run makes it a bit more special when it happens than the constant barrage of slips you get when walk-slipping in enabled.
Bygonehero Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Yes, please revert slipping to its past form. Gone are the days of lubing up the escape hall and making a slip'n'slide all the way to the shuttle. Together we can make slipping great again! by asking our coders super nicely!
Guest Menown Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 There's nothing I love more than being detained by security for cleaning floors I just got yelled at to clean. Can we not change it back?

Together we can make slipping great again! Lube still slips people do not matter what. But, if we just let water slip people do no matter what, how do you even avoid it now and what is the purpose of space lube if water can do the same thing without much effort?
Scheveningen Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 You can already slip on tiles with water on it if you're sprinting over it.
Arrow768 Posted June 20, 2017 Posted June 20, 2017 Afaik you can set your movement speed with a ingame verb. The higher the speed, the higher the slip chance ? (i.e. Speed-in-% - 50% = Slip chance)

On our code their really isnt a distinction. TG code gives space lube the ability to FLING you if you slip over it. you can make slip and slides with it.
Alberyk Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 I think that making water slip you do not matter what will just make lube more useless, I would rather give lube the feature tg has instead.

It used to be that you get slipped the number of squares that contain the slippy stuff, lube was just more effective at doing that. I think a happy medium would be revert back to old slipping, decrease the amount of time lube actually stays on the floor, and instead of the binary choice between running/not running for water, I think you should slip on water if your walking speed is > a certain amount.
