Synnono Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 (edited) BYOND Key: Synnono Character name: Jennifer Beal Item name: Portable Wardrobe Kit Why is your character carrying said item to work? Jennifer works as a bartender, and often arrives early to work due an unfavorable commute from her home on Biesel (I usually play these rounds as a visitor to represent it). Due to the awkward amounts of time she spends off-shift while either coming from or going to work, she's started to bring a change of clothes to be comfortable prior to the beginning of her shift, or to wear while waiting for a connection home. Item function(s): The wardrobe kit itself is a normal-sized item that looks like a box (but doesn't function as one). When used in hand, it prompts the user with a choice to spawn one of three outfits. Each outfit contains a uniform slot item without sensors, and a shoe slot item to compliment it. Once an outfit is chosen, the kit spawns the items on the ground and is consumed for the shift, disappearing. Item description: A kit containing a change of casual clothes, packaged for easy transport. This one advertises some sort of cartoon featuring slimes. It is labeled "J. Beal." Item appearance: The kit is basically a recolored chameleon kit. The outfits the kit can spawn look like this: Pale Turtleneck Outfit Black Net Mesh Outfit Cartoon T-shirt Outfit How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP? I like the idea of bringing some average clothes from Mendell City aboard. The station is 'local' to Tau Ceti and while we have plenty of silly costumes/military uniforms/nice dresses and suits on the station, we have less in the way of outfits you might expect to see average people wearing. I don't intend to use them during shifts where she's expected to be in her uniform, but even on those shifts it might be worth having something to change into, or to offer to someone else who finds their uniform covered in alien blood. More designs can be easily added to the kit in the future, if there's ever something that lore wants to make particular to Biesel or Mendell City that Jennifer could bring aboard. Additional comments: I understand that it's a lot of items being requested in this application. I have completed code and sprites for everything in order to minimize the impact on dev, and I checked with Lohikar to make sure anything I wrote wasn't horribly against existing conventions. I wouldn't mind if the outfits used by the kit were eventually added to the custom loadout, but I made these three specifically for Jennifer's character. They might need some modifications to look right on some other characters. Edited December 4, 2017 by Guest
AmoryBlaine Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 This is just beautiful and you took into consideration adding modified versions for the loadout and coding it all yourself. I really like Jenni and hope that she gets her outfits. Your work on the sprites is 10/10 too.
NoahKirchner Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 I really like the TV t-shirt option, gives space station 13 even more in-universe stuff to talk about.
AllyBearsley Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 mesh outfit doesn't surprise me at all I actually love the idea of this and how you have a good reason for your char to have it. I also agree the TV shirt is great and totally reminds me I want to make an open discussion about in-universe TV shows and stuff like that.
DronzTheWolf Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 +1 It adds originality and interesting talk points.
Brutishcrab51 Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 No reason not to support this, especially because Synnono displayed (s)he(?) could sprite the models on their own, if need be. I think this'd be an interesting addition, especially for a dedicated civilian character like Beal. +1.
whiterabit Posted December 5, 2017 Posted December 5, 2017 God she's such a qt harlot. Yeah I'll for once in my life give support to an app that isn't catnip's. Synn could probably do a lot with this and it's all surprisingly well made. Would be a horrible shame to have it go unused. +1
Alberyk Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 Item done and added to the code, you should be able to spawn with it now.
