Yonnimer
BYOND key: Yonnimer Character names: Russo Trosk Grown By Star Light Sailing Through The Void How long have you been playing on Aurora?: 4 Months. Why do you wish to be on the whitelist?: Because it feels like the characters who’s getting it would want to be one for several reasons, and it seems like a fun experience. Why did you come to Aurora?: I was on and off ss13 for a few years on different servers, and Aurora was the the highest pop high RP server at the time, stayed because it wasn’t shity and was actually fun. Have you read the Aurora wiki on the head roles and qualifications you plan on playing?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph each. Give a definition of what you think roleplay is, and should be about: Roleplaying is about is being able to take on the role of someone or something else and playing it in a believable fashion in whatever world they’re in while also working out engaging stories with other characters. What do you think the OOC purpose of a Head of Staff is, ingame?: They’re meant to lead their department by keeping a level of stability while also keeping their department's work progressing. Which could mean teaching new players about their job or simply keep everything running efficiently. They also can also keep their department’s employees more interested in their work. What do you think the OOC responsibilities of Whitelisted players are to other players, and how would you strive to uphold them?: Whitelisted players are there to help set an example to new players or someone new to their job in the head’s department. This is done icly and oocly by helping people learn the rules of the game and how to do their job but also keeping them interested and making it fun. Please pick one of your characters for this section, and provide well articulated responses to the following questions. Character name: Grown By Star Light Character age: 42 Please provide a short biography of this character (approx 2 paragraphs): Grown By Star light is a collection of nymphs that were grown on the NSS Antlia. And for the next fifteen years they worked as a gardner on multiple Nanotrasen vessels. Working as a gardener they eventually became curious with xeno botanical experiments that they would occasionally help out with and the science behind them, which eventually lead them to getting an official education, and eventually them also getting PHDs in Xenobiological Studies and Advancement In Research at Mendel City Uni. After earning their PHDs they returned to work in Nanotrasen, eventually deciding to get a citizenship on the nearly founded Republic Of Bisel, as they only ever worked on stations in Tau Ceti. They served Nanotrasen faithfully while working with them for years, eventually ending up on the Aurora. Which after plenty of recommendations from their colleagues because of their work ethic, and careful consideration, they applied to work as a research director aboard the Aurora as they wished to better the scientific work done aboard the station. What do you like about this character?: I like the level of professionalism and interest in their work, usually having them wish to work over most other things, but still interacting with science and not being isolated. Also willingness to help others, usually with xenobiology. What do you dislike about this character?: They sometimes will be a little too friendly, rarely saying no to something unless it would be clearly used for harm. They also have a high tendency to do something mindlessly, which could be from making something useless, or giving something out that they shouldn’t. What do you think makes this character fit to be a head of staff?: The main reason they wishes to be a research director is because of how many recommendations (Icly and ockly) they have gotten for it by fellow staff members, mostly for their willingness to help each part of the department. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions. How would you rate your own roleplaying?: 7/10 Extra notes: Any feedback is appreciated. Link to comment
Candelaio
+1 I have recommended several times that he be a RD and I can get behind this app. I have had amazing IC and OOC interactions with Yonnimer. Russo Trosk was one of the few Bartenders who knew sign and Andie frequented the bar often with him around. Starlight is always friendly but very professional and I have run (or tried to) many experiments with him as Carl Anderson with varied degrees of success. Whenever there is a need for a Director I usually recommend starlight take the interim position because he is an amazing, diligent scientist but the way he holds himself almost commands respect. Brutishcrab51
Oh, Grown By Star Light? Hell yeah, I love your Diona scientist. I've seen him around often as well, as a Head of Security or as a Visitor both. You're active, and you're the Interim Director often enough to display and prove that you have the mindset and the skill to handle the position OOCly, and a decent character to fill up the role ICly. This is an easy support. +1. Link to comment
Coalf
I've played with Grown by Star Light multiple times but that does make me bring up a few questions. While the position of an RD is primarly that of head scientist it is also a position as a head co-ordinator and your Dionea seems to be, well very dionea-like, very passive, responsive, more reactive than proactive which I think poises an issue in the later stages when R&D goes head over heels to print as many guns as possible and shoot a monkey in a chair for an hour or two. Joking exagaration aside, do you see your character (or yourself) changing your demeanor in any way? Why I do think it's nice to be the "Cool mom" of heads it's also important to recognize you hold responsibility over actions of everyone in R&D so how do you think you could handle these sort of more intensive situations? Azande
I have made your character GBS the Interim RD many times, and I have no doubt that he or you are good for the position, one thing Ive noted (and I'm echoing the above) is that you're slightly too passive. I'm still going to give you a +1 however, because this is a very minor issue and Heads of Staff are characters too. Link to comment
Meltharas
I would give a +1. I have played with Grown several times and he always seems to know exactly what he is doing and needs to do. He seems to know his job and also plays his race well. Link to comment
NoahKirchner
holy fuck yes, Grown by Star Light is one of the best scientists or really players in general that I've worked with, especially when it comes to efficiency. They're more than qualified. And ONTOP of that their Diona makes them actually not appear human icly which is a plus, very good arrpeer. Link to comment

I believe I would. I wouldn't just let lawgivers be given to cadets on code green, or let a lab assistant make drugs in the chem lab, or even go valid-hunting for raiders the second they're called out. But also still encourage people to make thoughtful experiments and projects to keep science interesting, but not just making it a bore-fest of the same projects over and over. Link to comment
