To clarify the meaning of M.A.K.E bringing a raincoat to a space station where there is no rain. The main reason it is being brought is not because it's needed on the station, but needed on the way to the station. They do not live on odin, so generally from time to time it rains on their way to the shuttlepor. Instead of needing to bring an umbrella or an extra poncho, they chose to just combine the two, saving the need for an extra item, while still preserving the illusive Poncho Gang™

BYOND Key: ToasterStrudes Character name: M.A.K.E Item name: Raincoat Poncho Why is your character carrying said item to work? Being a Synthetic, Walking in the rain to work during the rainy seasons can be detrimental to their chassis integrity if it is not dried quickly. Being an Engineer, M.A.K.E would also already be carrying a lot of their equipment and items to work on a daily basis, so why add an umbrella to that list as well? For efficiency sake, MAKE decided to combine water protection with his love of ponchos. Going out to the store, he looked for a synth-fabric poncho that resembled the Poncho that he wore on almost every workday, purchasing a thicker brown Polyester and synthetic cotton with a nice hood to go over his TV head, and protect it from the menace that is water droplets. Item function(s): Can be worn, has a hood that can go up and down. Item description: A tough brown hooded poncho that looks to be good at protecting someone from the rain. Item appearance: How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP? With the altered appearance, it would bring up the question of why it needs a hood. In addition, perhaps it will persuade more people to join the Poncho gang that is slowly dying on the server. thus expanding the meta-clique and securing my spot as best robot on the station. Also, whenever Alberyk does his water event, I will be prepared. Perhaps then its good to get try with another character then, if you show the community that you have changed by introducing a new character, then perhaps people are less likely to -1 your application, and if they do its out of a grudge thats something we usually ignore in the application process. Rewriting Edgar isn't going to change much, because they are still that, Edgar. A fresh face, fresh name, and fresh attitude would go far, ya' know?

Alrighty so, Heres my view on it. I was there at the time as my engineer, and was behind security at the time of the bombing. From what myself and other staff have discussed, you waited until the end of the round to start anything, before just setting off multiple explosions and went to departures with a bomb. I do agree that Security handled this situation poorly, but waiting until the end of the round to start things really isn't a good thing to do, let alone just threatening and actually bombing departures. The whole experience didn't really add much RP to the round, it was mostly "I have a bomb, leave" and security going "lol no", there's nothing to be gained after this as the round just is going to end minutes later. Tl;dr: Waiting until the end of the round to start bombing and killing really is no bueno, going 0-100 with very little isn't adding much to the RP of the round. Perhaps better wording for the warning is in order, but I do not believe in removing it. I'd also like to get [mention]NoahKirchner[/mention] and your own opinion ([mention]Blingx3[/mention]) in here as well. -

Very compelling backstory, I really enjoyed the middle part of it. Also a great name as well. The only flaw I can find is it is a bit too short you know? Missing a bunch towards the beginning, middle and end. (Memes aside, this is probably just going to get denied, you have to fill out everything if you plan on trying to get whitelisted. I would look over some other applications and then go from there.) -

I wholeheartedly agree with this. When ZAS randomly decides to fuck up, I understand that it can get really annoying for mining players being constantly knocked down and having to deal with it until they can get enough points to buy boots for themselves. Just give them Magboots. -

You are correct here, as the setup is outdated and does not link to the wiki itself. This just continues to support my claim that just moving the Nitrogen from the Engine room would encourage someone to ask for another engineer to tell them where the gas was, but in reality that isn't going to change because this was dismissed. Though, you do understand we have ad hominem rules and derailing rules on these forums, correct? You are just attacking people, and not adding to the original posts topic.

This isn't about phoron setup, this isn't about which engine setup is superior, this is about moving the cans of nitrogen out of the engines main room and somewhere else. New players look at the wiki and see the phoron setup (That I will note, a fair amount of engineering mains use because its simple and a lot less to worry about, how using anything in the engine other than nitrogen is powergaming I will never understand) and just assumes that the nitrogen cans are phoron. I'm not even going to delve into the powergaming thing that you said farther than the statement I said in the brackets. This isn't about that shit seriously. I will rephrase what I mean about 'Remove Nitrogen from Engine room' take the nitrogen that is in that little corner, and push it in another room to prevent dumb accidents from new players that generally end the round before the hour mark.

Why not just move it out of the room that way newer engineers who don't know how to set it up correctly don't just b-line it to them without knowing. Moving it out of the chamber itself would lead to them having to ask where it is, and would give more chances for them to ask for assistance before setting up the engine. +1 to what Ally said. Also Alberyk is going out of his way to try and dismiss this for the sole purpose of knowing how I feel about it. I'm not asking for it to be removed from code, just removed from the engine room itself, this isn't about it being a valid engine type.

Okay, a message from a distraught engineering main, please just move the Nitrogen from the Engine room, I've seen way too many rounds cut short from new engineers who either set up a nitrogen engine wrong and blow it up, or think the Nitrogen is phoron and do the normal phoron setup that is listed on the wiki. I hardly ever see people outside of the new engineers use nitrogen for anything, so its really just there to be used by mistake. Just move it somewhere like hard storage. Please

When I set up aim, I usually get rid of the "Can't move, can't talk on radio, can't etc." Right away, but then that brings up a second issue. Why if I was aiming at someone, would I drop my aim right away, and wait a few seconds, that really doesn't make any sense to me. I feel like reflective firing should be limited to 3 seconds just to nerf someone trying to run a tile away, and the laser rifle suddenly becoming full-auto on its own.

I'll throw my two cents in. Nanotrasen would probably greatly benifit having an IPC in the position of an Internal Affairs Agent. I feel if anything it'll extend roleplay greatly, as well as actually get some players playing IAA. Nanotrasen in lore sofar seems to be like a progressive company, but still uses it to exploit the progressiveness to their advantage. Imagine the perfect Internal Affairs agent, something that can be programmed to have no bias whatsoever, and can be owned legally by Nanotrasen. I feel like we should do IPC IAAs, but gravely restrict them, make them Nanotrasen-made IPCs, make 'em slaved or something along the lines. Make Nanotrasen look like they are the 'hip progressive corporation', but in reality they are just exploiting an efficient, and reliable workforce, and let all of the problems that come with it be an IC rp builder.
