  1. Nah, this isn't a quitting post It's just a notice to the community that i'll be gone for about a month or so while I take a Vacation to the H̶e̶l̶l̶h̶o̶l̶e̶ glorious land of Australia. I'm departing on the 16th of April, and won't return likely until around the 30th of May. This's only a rough planning however, and the length may shift a bit longer or shorter than I stated. I'll miss all of you (Though I'll probably get on a handful of times if I can)
  2. This title sounds like a euphemism
  3. Capital punisment is banned by like...Europe and some of north America. It's still very widespread
  4. From an older part of the wiki (not sure if still valid) a credit is like 3USD
  5. I'm in agreement with Chaz
  6. Definitely ring
  7. Application Accepted Glory to Aurora
  8. Application Accepted Glory to Aurora
  9. Application accepted Glory to Aurora
  10. Application denied. Send a PM to both myself and Tishinastalker for details asto why it was denied. And feel free to apply again, good day.
  11. Application accepted. But do remember, IPCs can only be CMO, CE and RD. Glory to Aurora
  12. I don't think this surprised anyone.
  13. You know you need a break from SS-13 when you try to aghost in real life.
  14. I think the main concern should be y'know...getting the basics of the lore done. Once that's done, I think going into every little inkling of detail of how Skrell reproduce, what Tajara babies are call, and if welder fuel can melt plasteel beams is perfectly fine to do. Just give the lore-team time to work, and they'll give ya' what you want eventually.
  15. I'm just going to write here what I think I'm mostly in agreement with Inverted at this point. N.T. doesn't need to become some super-powerful "We own fucking planets" Megacorp from Shadowrun. N.T. is astoundingly wealthy, they're technologically advanced and they are influential. N.T. (as I said earlier) should be neutral in their outlook, they're an amazing company that's given hundreds of thousands of people a second chance when other people wouldn't dare to, they're entrepreneurs, innovators and businessmen. But they're also ruthless, cold and calculating. They're not evil, they're not good. They do what they have to in-order to make a profit, if it makes them look good then that's awesome, if not then woo, propaganda. Look how much money they gave to that orphanage! Basically don't give N.T. ANY fucking planets, give them influence in the Colonies, a Joint-Administration of Biesel (ONE THAT IS IN THE SOL ALLIANCE/Not fucking undermined by corruption), and a lot of money, resources and personnel. I also think that the Sol Alliance has been turned from what I designed it as (a morally ambiguous government that claims dominion over the colonies). They've been turned into Mary sue "Good Guys" that rush in at any hint of a fuck-up and fix all the problems. The Sol Alliance is a government, one that fucks up from time to time, and one that does good some of the time. Most of the time, they just govern. Don't just make them into bad-guys, don't make them into good-guys, and for god's sake don't have them running to the rescue whenever someone breeches the hull. A patrol ship can, and should pop up every once in awhile but they WON'T meddle in NT's internal politics. Give people room to be morally shady, give room for fun experiments that might not exactly be legal.
  16. I have, they have absinthe, Brandy and Gin on tap at the bar I used to go to. But any-way... If it's the "Woo, hop the bar and get wasted" mentality you're worried about, then I highly doubt a handful of more drink options will contribute or detract from that.
  17. Indeed. Chair RP tended to exclude a lot of people, and while RP now probably still excludes a handful or two, i feel as if it's more inclusive and easier to integrate people into. But yeah, we have plenty of chair RP sorts of moments, more in dead hour but also sprinkled throughout the day.
  18. All of my yes. Agree completely with Sue right now
  19. I also intently dislike this idea. There's the fact that this just..... wouldn't sit with the people in Tau Ceti. I mean honestly, how would you deal with transition from a Liberal democracy to "Oh, Companies own everything now". Try to be subtle or not, people have a habit of finding out corruption and dealing with it, usually violently. And this isn't "Oh, that one city that riots all the time is rioting again" it's more likely to be "Holy shit everyone hates us, run". That along with the fact that any revelation of N.T. undermining the Republic of Biesel would just result in Sol voiding the treaty. I also hate the fact that the one single, tiny system is independent, yet surrounded by a Sea of Sol Alliance worlds. I want Nanotrasen to be ambiguous. I want them to be a somewhat shadowy megacorporation (Not grimdark) I want rumors to circulate about that one colony where NT deported everyone to mine for Plasma. But I don't want that to be set concrete as fact. It may or may not true, but N.T. has essentially an unlimited supply of money, and a relatively good reputation for being that corporation that gives anyone a second chance (Please keep that) I want the Sol Alliance's morality to be ambiguous as well. Colonials should hate them for "Strangling freedom" and being Imperialists. Sol loyalists should love the Alliance for its stability, it's bountiful resources and its technological advances. This shouldn't be "Oh the colonies are asshats" or "Oh the Alliance are asshats" It should be "I hate x because of x" and then someone else hates Y because of Y. In short. Don't make anyone evil, don't make anyone good. Put "facts" out there and let the players decide, I think most people agree that differing opinions on these such things creates a basis for (maybe minor) roleplay.
  20. Fair enough. I'm just mainly concerned with convenience. It's annoying to have to hop between the dispenser and the booze-o-mat to mix cocktails
  21. Not in the booze Dispenser, It's in the booze-o-mat though.
  22. Just like the title says, 99% of the bay drinks are available in the booze dispenser. I'm simply suggesting adding our ones (Plus the three they forgot) to the Booze dispenser. The list I'd like to see added is as follows Creme de Yvette White Creme de Menthe Yellow Chartreuse Green Chartreuse Brandy Guinness Drambuie Emeraldine Melon Liquor Miss Blue Curacao Jailbreaker Verte
  23. Rude/disruptive comments will be deleted.

  25. After some confusion from a number of players over what goes where, how it works and some other issues. Staff has decided to create an official guide to Flavor-text. Posted Below Flavor Text: What it is: A configuration option that’s available (But not required) in the character creation menu. It’s grown quite popular since it has been implemented a few years ago, and even got a new face with the update allowing for limb-specific texts. It is used for ‘objective’ physical descriptions of a character. What it isn't: A place for background information, descriptions of specific clothing, or ‘emotion-forcing’ to other characters. Writing a flavor text The point of a flavor text is to give a person the ability to look at your character and ‘see what you see’ in-so-far as your character, going beyond just “Oh, a 2D spessman”. A decent flavor text contains any important physical features of your character. Such as height, hair, facial features, tattoos, scars etc. What I generally do is ‘go down’ a character's body, starting at head and working my way down with the description as this is generally how someone will notice you, head then everything else. A critical part of writing a F.T. is an understanding of the correct type of tense to you. I've seen people use 1st. person, which is incorrect and should be replaced with the more correct 2nd or 3rd person, like “This is a short, Asian woman”, or “You see a short, Asian woman.” instead of “I am a short, Asian woman.” The most common error I see is a subjective description instead of the more correct objective description. What I mean by this is “They are a beautiful woman”. By doing this, you are forcing a train of thought into another character's head. Another good example is “They look scary” or “They look like a bad ass” avoid these. Instead of “They’re the prettiest girl you've ever seen” actually describe their physical features and leave it up to the players to decide if they’re pretty. Beauty is subjective, not everyone looks at one specific type of facial feature as “beautiful”. An additional thing that is preferred is, if your character has an accent AND you have the ability to pull off that accent in a tasteful way. To Role play an actual accent instead of writing in your flavor text that your character talks a certain way. If you cannot do an accent, that's fine to in addition, use emotes and the ‘me’ verb to show how your character moves. A good way to look at this is, it’s perfectly possible that someone might see your character while they’re seated, or sleeping in the dorm. How would they know how your character walks, talks or moves? An issue that’s rarer than most of the rest of these is the inclusion of clothing and or gear into a flavor text. Your character will not always been wearing these particular pieces of clothing and that’s generally something to be avoided. Vague references to how your character wears certain things are permissible however, such as “Their hands tend to hover around in their pockets” Mechanically, there are separate boxes in-which you write your flavor text. Those being the following: General: Always visible, should be used for general body-shape, weight and age Head: Vanishes if you wear an enclosed helmet, used for describing head-shape and size Face: Vanishes if you wear a mask, used for descriptions of facial structure, mouth etc. Eyes: Vanishes if you wear glasses/masks that cover the face. Used for describing eyes Body: Vanishes if you wear an enclosed exosuit(Spacesuits), Used to describe general features the character's body has universally. Such as muscle-ton, skin color, etc. Arms: Vanishes if you wear an enclosed exosuit or wear a jumpsuit with rolled-down sleeves. Used to describe Arms Hands: Vanishes if you wear gloves. Used to describe your character's hands. Legs: Vanishes if you wear a jumpsuit. Used to describe your character's legs. Feet: Vanishes if you wear shoes. Used to describe your character's feet.
