  1. Service uniform you pleb
  2. The Navy working uniform is N.T. issue. however. Not that of a completely different polity.
  3. While I do agree with you, I'm inclined to point out that they're not combat fatigues. looks like a service uuniform
  4. Usually atleast one person a day from what I've seen. Though those're usually griefers.
  5. An initial sketch of Thuraiya Ajam by Thundy
  6. This is my Opinion. I don't believe myself to be "Right" I don't believe myself to be "Wrong" It is an opinion, that's it. I'm honestly in agreement with this. We're not here to force new players to Enjoy Aurora, we're not here to cater to elitist attitudes that murder all the fun from the game and make the Server dreadful to get on. New players arrive, we try to teach them Aurora's style of roleplaying and help them in anyway we can. If they start griefing and cursing at staff (Forgive me for saying this) but fuck them. Aurora exists because we have things that other stations don't, our RP situation isn't 100% like other servers, why should we change this simply because someone who refuses to follow the rules wants to fit in, but refuses to let us help them? God above, yes. I've roamed the halls trying to get people to RP repeatedly, meanwhile people just ignore me and continue to talk to their 3 person group of exclusive "Besties". While I get that you like these people , you're making it harder for new people to integrate and for existing people to create good new characters with relationships on the station. I'll take the middle-ground here. Sometimes a nice extended round where I don't have to worry about my RP being interrupted by Bob (The one coworker who'll talk to me) dragging me into an empty room and eating me. Conflict is good too however, I think going wholly one-way or another would be a bad idea. Personally, I think we need to focus on RP. Aurora is advertised as a Heavy Roleplaying server and so we should try to maintain an atmosphere that'd be worthy of that title. HOWEVER We do NOT need to be suspicious, condescending and generally asinine to new players because they "might" ruin an RP situation. People make mistakes, in-fact I can guarantee everyone in this thread has fucked up on Aurora at least once. We can be Heavy RP without being elitist, and we can be open to new players without changing who and what we are drastically. I also do agree with you that Lore needs to be revised, but I don't think all restrictions should be thrown out of the window for the sake of "RP opportunities". A middle ground is the best approach, balancing what'll be fun for players with what makes sense in an in-character manner. And based on the alien whitelist thread, that's what most players agree with Admins are here to protect RP. Bob the scientist vaulting the HoP's desk screaming "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD" and detonating a bomb that vents 1/3rd of the station isn't RP in any manner of the word. There are -so- many times that we've managed to stop a griefer in-their-tracks from doing something that would've ruined a massive amount of RP, and not with any RP reason. No. Remember that we're here to have fun, and Carl the Chemist logging back onto Aurora after his computer turned off due to a power blink only to find himself dead, stuffed in a locker with absolutely no RP beyond "Lol, I'm antag" put into it isn't fun at all. Again, It's all about RP here. If we weren't an RP server I could see this being acceptable. But again "Bob the scientist vaulting the HoP's desk screaming "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD" and detonating a bomb that vents 1/3rd of the station isn't RP in any manner of the word." Our job is to make sure you guys have the environment so you can RP and have fun, Griefers who destroy 1/3rd of the station without a word aren't really conducive to this.
  7. So.....I heard you like mudkips
  8. According to soundscopes, we were ddosed. But we're up now.
  9. T̶h̶i̶s̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶ ̶a̶ ̶d̶a̶y̶-̶b̶a̶n̶.̶ ̶W̶h̶i̶c̶h̶ ̶h̶a̶s̶ ̶e̶x̶p̶i̶r̶e̶d̶.̶ You failed to note that this was a job-ban. Not really true actually. A person being on the crew is not determined by the manifest, a person being on the crew is determined by that person having a contract signed with Nanotrasen. In addition to them arriving on the station on a Nanotrasen shuttle. Not the complete story, Central command sent confirmation that the manifest had been hacked by a third party and confirmed that "Voen Cath" the Skrellian HoS (Me) was indeed the station's head of security. After receiving this message, you continued to state that Voen was not a member of the crew, and not Head of security, despite four security officers, a borg and the Hop Vittorio confirming that Voen was indeed head of security. At which point you announced that the Head of Security and Head of Personnel were "A threat to the station" and activated turrets repeatedly until the cyborg during that round disabled them. You also received orders from the commander of the ERT team sent from central command to open your core for the HoS and Hop, which you refused to follow because "The ERT has to be in the core" which they couldn't do due to you shocking and bolting both your external and internal doorways. Reference the above situation in-which you denied access to the AI core to the HoP, HoS and ERT. You're rather contradicting yourself here. Initially the Head of Staff attempted to enter the core with Four security officers, an engineer (To card the AI) and a borg. So you're also contradicting yourself here. You had basic NT AI laws, this being one of them. By your own admission, you should've let the HoS enter the AI core with the security officers, with the HoP and finally when the ERT ordered you repeatedly to open the core. So you in-fact did break your laws at this point as well. Your defense for activating the turrets (Which even on stun should cause excruciating pain when shot), was that the HoS was wrongful in accessing the AI core. However, this is proven false due to 1. Entering with several security officers initially, 2. Entering with the HoP later, 3. Entering with the ERT's approval near the end of the round. So, you broke your law here by turning your turrets on the crew of the Aurora without a sufficient reason. There's several other incidents that occurred during this round, but I believe this is sufficient to explain the ban.
  10. This. Delta is a good player relatively, his RP is gr8 and he's not terribly unpleasant to deal with. But he has an astounding amount of notes, most of which being simply going against common sense. And as anyone on Staff can tell you, common sense is generally a great thing to have. A very important thing to have, as is willpower (As in having the self-control not to tell that griefing assistant who said something extremely unpleasant about you to go fuck himself). Honestly, if staff as a whole doesn't trust you to role-play as a head of staff without watching you constantly, I don't think we'd trust you to moderate Aurora possibly alone for hours at a time. Your rhetoric here, and generally on all of your applications is rather great. But I'm afraid in this case, you'll need more than words.
  11. They're primarily used by antags, ERT and (If we ever have one) Deathsquad. "Leather boots" Seems a good enough rename.
  12. Application denied. PM me or Tishinastalker for specifics asto why, and feel free to apply again in the future.
  13. Application accepted. Glory to Aurora.
  14. I have icons for crushed cans too . So this'd work out
  15. Hiya! You Head of Staff whitelist was stripped. Meaning you need to reapply for The head of staff whitelist. Not appeal it. Locking and Denying this appeal.
  16. Utterly unfounded. Unless you're just repeatedly ahelping to say hi
  17. I dealt with a terrible RPer two days ago I think that believed as long as he didn't die, his character could know anything he could learn ICly. If he died, he would have to learn all these things again. I desperately tried to explain the concept of "Needing education to set up a blackhole" and he utterly didn't understand.
  18. I'm in agreement that this would add an interesting dynamic to mining. Which currently consists of *Mine ore, refine, deliver* rinse and repeat.
  19. There hasn't been one assigned yet to my knowledge
  20. As he said, It's ultimately upto the outcome of the round. This is generally so the crew doesn't mutiny over literally nothing. It's player choice, from my perspective, if the HoS doesn't think the command is legitimate, they might think they're best serving N.T. by opposing false directives. Also player choice, generally the characters in the Security department are loyal to N.T. to some degree or another. They'll be included eventually more than likely, we've been having some problems with the mutiny gamemode. I'm assuming selective amnesty would be applied due to this being a potentially serious situation. But players shouldn't just assume this, the fear of losing your job should be a powerful motivator. The Captain ICly has received (usually) a serious executive directive from Nanotrasen central command. Not following these would certainty lose the captain their job, if they're real orders that is. Generally, injunctions are filed against public meetings and such during these rounds, so a group of people in violation of this should be detained. I can see Sec using force against a violent group of people opposing security, but generally people shouldn't just shoot into crowds Boston massacre style
  21. Yes please. We need, all the milk.
  22. We had a pretty large RP game going for awhile. It was great, but people just drop out after awhile
  23. Application denied. Contact me or TishinaStalker for specific details asto why, please feel free to apply again in the future.
  24. Mods have never been light gray, the admins were only red because they hadn't changed their colors yet. And honestly you're litterally the only person in the many years I've been staff complai n about this
