  1. While I can see why Rusty is skeptical/resentful of ideas that operate in great numbers and sizes, I think this one is not necessarily 'pushing it'. It is one thing to have a million of armed-to-the-teeth pro human terrorists, and another thing to have a million of lazy, comfortable richmen having a blast in their independent utopian station. Then again, given the 'bourgeouis pigs' nature of this thing, cutting the numbers down even more would emphasize the station's essence, rather than reduce it in importance. You know what I mean - the less people get there, the more it will truly be the 'paradise out of the reach for ordinary men'. But, all debate aside, I really like this. I find it believable and, among all the radical/terrorist movements and kingdoms and whatnot, its nature is pleasantly refreshing. Gib plox.
  2. I'm not sure how this fits the discussion (nor necessarily which direction the discussion is taking at the moment), but I feel it could be pretty damn great to have the SA characters from Aurora receive a draft notice. To make things fall apart even more. Not just because I want my Sol chars go all Yossarian about this.
  3. There's the point that everybody's referring to, but nobody seems to have explicitly expressed in this thread - so just for the sake of recapitulation (and perhaps, hopefully, clearing things up); The thing with antags is, it's not just about making sense ICly. The moment you play an antagonist, you take upon yourself the responsibility to make the round entertaining. You're have incredible power to shift the round's course, and at that point you should do your best to not only roleplay yourself in a believable manner, but also in such a manner as to include as many people in 'your' game as possible and provide them with entertainment. To make a connection with your deathsting spree - while you are rationing in a manner that can be acceptable from purely 'ling perspective, the fact remains that you repeatedly put/tried to put people out of the game in a situation where it was not only unnecessary, but also pretty much pointless.
  4. The people have spoken. I shall proceed in fashion similar to the examples already present. Thank you for your feedback!
  5. Or this guy.
  6. (I'm not really sure how the implementation phase works, so... Well, if you'd like, I believe I could make it much more 'to the point', now that I look at it with a few weeks' 'distance'. Then again, English is still a constant struggle for me - most likely you can do way better job of it yourself. But, you know. In case you don't really want to work on it (the way I do). Eh. Either way, thanks a bunch!)
  7. I have mixed feelings about this. Needless to say, I am still grateful, even if it's only out of pity. T.T
  8. Oh come on, people. All the angle does is that the terminals at medical are literally facing the wall. While everything else is pictured from the front. Is this really what you want? Edit: The front. Everything else.
  9. That's a good and constructive point, which I will take into account if more of you feel this way. My reasoning is that, aside from the eletronics, everything (walls, floors, tables, chairs...characters) are not under an angle. If anything, I believe this would 'unify' the sprites in their angle, rather than make a mess of what we're looking at.
  10. So I've asked a couple of people about particular sprites that make them cringe, and noted down those that supported my personal issues. Which brings us here. The sprite-thread to update Aurora's equipment, namely, to replace the computers from 1996 that eat diskets the size of your head with newer, much more intuitive holographic electronics! If it glows, it's sci-fi. The library computers: If you'd like me to remove the 'icons' from the desktop, it's got the proper HILLS AND SUNSHINE background! Medical terminal: To do: - patient tracker terminal - operating terminal - security cameras - security records - whatever are those two machines in the HoP office - AI upload - genetics terminal - intercoms - anything you point out I've missed
  11. (( What Bokaza said. This is wonderful. ))
  12. Don't know about the rest of the place, but the lobby and the patient/recovery room are great. I really like that. If there is any point in changing this before the transfer to ground-based station, please, let's!
  13. Damn, man! Elena looks rad and the way I imagined her. Nnnnice!
  14. The Moon is bloody fantastic! I spent hours desperatedly googling for similar movies
  15. Already working on a collection of coats, longcoats and trenchcoats because I have a coat fetish that is absolutely out of my control. I'll make you the sprite. In my imagination (take into account that I know like, nothing about coding, whatsoever) implementing one coat with an extra pocket shouldn't be too hard after that. Anyhow, I want to, and perhaps it will make the negotiations easier for you, or...something.
  16. Cough. Just to further the stereotype - Starship Troopers also come as a great book by Heinlein. Cough. Oddly enough, never heard of Full Metal Jacket, and now upon googling it turns out it's like a known thing and all that. Gonna check it out.

    The List

Patricia Bluthgeld - GUNSLINGER! A girl with strong jawline, stronger morals and even stronger urge to draw her gun. Demosthenes - Personal AI with memory completely used up on cynical, existential poems.
  18. And I'm surprised you know it! Have you seen his newest one, The Congress? I mean, DAMN! It's part animated, part 'conventional' movie, and somehow it doesn't lose it's gravity and atmosphere for a single moment! Well like, yeah, the movie is good. Very good, by nowadays standards. But boy, it has like nothing to do with the book. :I
  19. Well, for the most part that means comforting his heartbroken exes, but still
  20. Whoa. Damn. I'll admit I had to search them up - I've never met them, personally, and was not aware of them. But, errr, yes. There are certainly some similarities... >.>
  21. Maybe there could be further dividation within the robotics' duties - as in, roboticist is closer to an engineer, 'the fella who puts the stuff together', while programmers would look over 'borgs' and AI's (etc.) laws. But then, I have very little experience with the job; maybe there would be nothing to do at all, and roboticists would suffer terribly. Perhaps a better approach would be to think of something creative the programmers might do, rather than introduce more and more ways for the station's equipment to deteoriate, so that they could prevent that.
  22. The thing is, I don't think it's a good idea to make more inconveniencies just so that these IT guys have something to counter. Inasmuch as it would be cool to have your normal screens and technical stuff and whatnot break down and require maintanance and such, inevitably there would occur a round where all of the crucial medical and security and whatnot equipment would refuse to continue working, and there'd be no IT fella on board.
  23. // K.I.S.S. uncompatible, I'm afraid Context Life Cycle Character History Gameplay mechanics RPAryans, the ultimate roleplay race with very little actual gameplay mechanisms - and the few availale to them to be used with utmost caution + most conventional weaponry has no effect on them + can be carried around + capable of speaking into people's heads - incapable of picking up objects - extremely sensitive to high temperatures, water-deprivation (starvation mechanics) can be deadly over time + could be able to take control of another body (in case the body still hosts a player, the player's attempts at regaining control of himself would then function similarly to trying to break out of handcuffs) Ideal Gameplay - players in control of the Fungi would (apart from being carefully selected) preferably play either supportive roles (possibly closer to pAIs than chaplains or psychiatrists), or -should the body-controlling ability be used- extremely balance-disturbing roles, whether it be violent antagonists or this sort of 'neutral chaotic' antagonist who is trying to manipulate his way into control of the station by more or less legal means. Possibly some activists outraged at the treatment of slimes? Hue In either case, they are obviously limited to a small number of professions, but then again, they do have a clear advantage in these roles. I believe that, with the right players who would be able to keep in mind that they are supposed to make the game fun for others -more so than your conventional characters, I suppose- this could be entertaining. But, preferably, they should be a "casually playable" race - meaning, available not only as antags, and so our first non-humanoid race with different approach at playing entirely. Note: Though possibly not worth all the necessary effort. I'm not really sure to what degree it's possible to just rip-off from mechanics already present in game, or whether this would be one awful b*tch to put together. Trash'd concept
  24. I was actually thinking of this for a while now, because I really want to make an absurdly obvious Handsome Jack ripoff-character and takeover Aurora. Programmers and IT guys would definitely be neat, but again, we ought to figure out something actually interesting for them to do (I mean, unless we find a way for them to have own original stuff to do and/or to interact with the station's electronics, they will be much like... I don't know. Librarians?). I originally dropped the idea 'cause I didn't think anybody shared my sentiment, but hey - seeing this, I'll give it some more thought. Sure we can figure something out!
  25. Disapprove, because I don't understand how somebody who looks like a hobo and whose interaction with other players is limited pretty much to scowls gets so many chicks. +1 It's somehow touching, and I can see how this would have use in RP. Edit: Now that I think about it, Kane's relationships have this odd way of involving and furthering roleplay for other players as well. Out of sheer curiousity, how would this work, exactly? I was thinking possibly similarly to ties?
