I think Cheshire is pretty interesting and Stryker is a pretty good RPer. Though I cannot say they are without faults. Connections issues and just going AFK seems to plague a lot of the games I've played with them. I hope actions are being taken to resolve at least the connection issues. Going AFK is understandable since shit happens, but it happens enough, when I am around, to comment. Either way you still get a +1 from me.

[Resolved] Character Complaint: Julian McCoy
AllyBearsley replied to AllyBearsley's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
I've had a moderator come to me to change this to a player complaint so that they are able to comment directly on something that Frenjo does when antagging. I am not against this; however, I wonder what the use will be if Frenjo does not comment. I made this to have a discussion and hopefully come to a peaceful conclusion in fixing an obviously wonky character. Can we expect a comment from Frenjo? Has he made private comments? How long is the wait supposed to take? -

Dude, I'd love to see your take on your ICP and wish you the best of luck. Plus I've seen Op on the server a few times and think he's pretty cool. -
[Resolved] Character Complaint: Julian McCoy
AllyBearsley replied to AllyBearsley's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
The point of this complaint, for me, and I hope for others is just that: Have Julian tone it down a bit. [edit] His mannerisms and attitudes is actively ruining RP for me and others. Something needs to be done, and just letting it be known that there is a problem is a good way to come to a solution. [edit] Maybe in some cases toning it down 'a bit' is an understatement. -
BYOND Key: AllyBearsley Game ID: Multiple Rounds Player Byond Key: Frenjo (?) Staff involved: Currently None Reason for complaint: Let me start this off by saying I don’t think Julian is a terrible character or that his player is a bad person. This is a problem with how they play the character, not a character assassination. I originally wasn’t going to do anything like this, but upon finding that others share my opinions on this matter I decided I should voice them. Julian McCoy forces himself to be involved in every event that happens on the station, whether or not his character should feasibly involve himself with them. If a character he is friends with is injured he will run from one end of the station to the other to demand to be involved with the medical procedure to help them, when he is not apart of the medical team. If someone is sabotaging the station he demands access to pursue potential culprits. One time he came to the station as a bartender and forced himself into the Medbay to help others out as a medical professional while being a bartender. Julian seems to have the skills he needs when he needs them. He apparently has skills in Science, Medical, Engineering, and EVA training so high he feels he can demand the AI to let him into EVA to handle engineering problems. I feel it is absurd for one character to be so gifted, and usually only play the “chaplain” role. Julian’s player has said things like, “Is Julian the main character?” numerous times in OOC. The more I see this the less I think it is a joke. I believe that Julian’s player wishes his character were the protagonist of the server. He constantly forces himself into situations he shouldn’t be involved with, he has a large skill set that makes him invaluable, and he’s such a nice guy. I really don’t think this server needs a single protagonist, and jokes are fine but I feel this joke is going way too far. Now all this being said, what do I actually think of Julian as a character? When he’s not forcing his will on the AI or crew to be a part of every issue that happens on the ship, I think he’s an acceptable character. He seems very humanitarian and generally seems to take his Chaplain duties rather seriously. The problem is Julian busting into every situation, especially ones that should not involve him directly. A quick fix would be to tone Julian back just a bit and have his player accept he’s not the hero that needs to save the ship every time an APC goes blue. Helping is fine. If Julian sees an issue he can report it to the proper crew to handle it. I wouldn’t even mind if he tried to do things to make the job easier. It’s the fact that he feels he must be the one to do every job that needs doing. Why have a crew at that point? I’m not stupid. I know Julian isn’t the only character to do something like this. He might not even be the only character to do things like this right now. He is, however, the one with whom I have had the most direct experience with. Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? If so, what was the known action taken by administration/moderation? No. Originally I felt this was a personal problem. The way many characters seemed fine with how Julian acted, I thought I was just being grumpy or maybe rude. As time went on I started realizing that this might be affecting others. I have since talked to some of the others and while, yes, it is affecting some people negatively, we generally don’t see this directly as an Admin issue. We see this as more a player issue and are simply trying to get our opinions heard. Approximate Date/Time: Basically from the time this character was created to now. NOTE: As I wrote this I had others come to me with their own opinions and experiences with Julian McCoy. Some are less favourable than mine. Also it was recommended by a friend that Julian’s player split the knowledge he gave Julian into multiple characters and to have each one able to handle specific emergencies. I think this is much better than having one character to handle every emergency on the station.

Showing borgs and AI on the manifest for ghosts and lobbyers.
AllyBearsley replied to TrickingTrapster's topic in Archive
And I just don't see why there's an easier way IC to check for borgs and AIs than the messenger. Ok and it might seem like I think this is some super necessary thing and I am totally butthurt that it's not in or may never be in. I'm not. If nothing gets implemented I'm fine. I just think it would be nice to have something like an easy way to IC check for AI and Borgs. That is all. -

Showing borgs and AI on the manifest for ghosts and lobbyers.
AllyBearsley replied to TrickingTrapster's topic in Archive
I don't get that argument. Just have a special section of the manifest that tells you that an AI is online and that borgs are online. "They're not part of the crew" yeah that's cool but they're still there doing things and it'd be nice for a person to know that they are there. Just make a special section somewhere on the manifest sheet away from everyone else that says "AI and Borgs" online. It'd make sense in-game and out of game to have something like that be on the same page. It's tedious for a company to make multiple pages to display basically the same thing but for different people. Don't want them to feel like they're considered the crew, just have it literally say "AI: Online, Borg1: Online, Borg2: Online". I'd think the company would want you to know what you're working with and not be blind sided by lack of AI's when you call into the comm four times trying to get a door opened. Well that's my opinion. -

[Denied] Unathi Whitelist 2.0
AllyBearsley replied to Ethan Malakay's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Everyone else has made points I would make. Just having experienced your other characters, they're not fun to be around. They're not interesting. They seem to be a vessel for you to goof off in and try to ignore consequences. You have OOC and IC complaints against your chars. You just got declined and seem to take this ap even less serious than the last one. Why don't you take some time, handle the complaints against your chars, and then come back to this with a more serious mindset? Anyway -1 from me. -
Alright I'm hopping onto the server now, if I need to do so some other time let me know. Also I'd like to speak to an admin personally.

I would like to see the data.

I'm actually pretty sure he hasn't used two computers though.

Howdy dowdy everyone. I'm not actually here to start any mess. I'm just here to reiterate that this is a good friend of mine, who I've known for years, and we've only just got back into SS13 after years. We played once long ago and I'm almost totally sure we didn't play on Aurorastation. I do like the server, but I've already had admins question me about things I haven't done. Like RPing a crippled war-veteran with no ability to drag people away and being asked why I was dragging someone away after beating them over the head with a bottle. I did accidentally smash a bottle against my chair when trying to unbuckle myself (I'm an idiot with the hands menu and am learning) then was dragged away by a friend. Just saying I've seen issues arise from confusion on the admins part, but server gets crowded and people can have similar names. It's not unheard of. Now I'm going to reiterate something: We do not know what you are talking. Use simple terms and language to us. Explain what something does so we can maybe figure out ourselves what went wrong. Just throwing around things like "CID conflicting" means nothing to me. How likely two people having the same CID key means nothing to me. How his CID changed from X to Y in less than 22 hours when he's done nothing to do that, means nothing to me. How can someone change that accidentally or intentionally? Like can he have a Windows Update one day and this trigger some issues? Can he have something running in the background or have run something like bitcoin. To be honest I'm surprised Doug remembers how to turn on his computer, so I doubt he'll be able to ban evade. So just step back and explain clearly what's going on so maybe we can help understand what went wrong.
