  1. Wikis have guides built in to help people create new pages, as for standardized format that's more on the Manager to decide how that should be done. I will definitely take this into consideration though. As for the SOP business, that will be worked on later, thank you for bringing it up!
  2. You believe SOP should be its own fleshed out page?
  3. Thank you all for your suggestions, we'll look into them and see what we can do to update them. As for the question of Chemistry Schev, I am just going by what Skull sent me. We'll look into it and if it doesn't need updating it will not be updated.
  4. Hello everyone, I'm here to let you guys know that the wiki is getting updated and the new wiki-maitainers are already working to fix up guides that need it. However, there are a lot of guides that are out of date, not optimized, and just kind incoherent. We could use your help finding all these guides to fix up. We already have a list of a few that need updating, but feel free to respond to this thread with any guides we missed that need updating. NOTE: We are still looking to fix new pages, but we are now going to move forward and add more pages to the wiki. Please share suggestion for new pages. When doing so give at least an idea on what should be on that page or a link to an existing page on another wiki. ANOTHER NOTE (how kind of me): We are now working more closely with the lore team to fix up lore pages and remove completely wrong or outdated pages. Please mention any lore pages that have issues. I would personally love if you guys mentioned it to a loredev first; however, putting it down on this thread would be nice and we would know what to look for and need fixing. RULES FOR SUGGESTIONS: 1. If you just name a page that should be updated without giving any information on how it should be updated, your suggestion will be ignored. 2. If you ask for a page to be added and do not give any information on what should be on that page or give a link to an existing page on another wiki, do not expect the page to be added quickly. PAGES TO UPDATE Cargo and Cargo Roles: Due to the map change and recent cargo update the cargo pages have become significantly outdated. Will bee working to fix them. (Kind of waiting for Cargo to properly normalize post updated) Mining(Needs fixing up to update with Aurora) (Synth is getting on it) Other Antags (Should be listed. Need antag players for guides.) (Done a lot, but more can still be done) Tesla: Look man I haven't touched the Electric Death machine. Help fixing this page up would be nice. (This is Eve's job) Medical: Still changes, corrections, and all that good stuff being made. Medical related pages will be a Work in Progress. Please if you see any issues go ahead and alert a me or a wiki maintainer. PAGES TO REVIEW NOTE: Those under review are there to be reviewed. There could be some glaring issues with them. That's why they are under the review section, so people can ID the problems and we can fix them. UPDATE: Guides changed to pages since the wiki team is working to fix more than just guides as we look to fix the wiki altogether.
  5. I could have sworn this was suggested before. Was it shot down?
  6. I know this is about IC interactions, sadly I have yet to have many characters meet yours but I've been playing character too much lately and I haven't been playing different departments enough. So that's a me problem. However, I'm going to say your OOC mannerisms and attitude is looking to be improving dramatically, and that makes me actually look forward to meeting your characters. So I'll keep my eye out for them and try to interact.
  7. Who are you? Good question.
  8. Thank you for this guide. It's really hard to find a truly concise easy to read and understand guide on the freaking engines and SMES setup. This is very good. I love the gifs and the explanation PHORON SHOULD BE USED! The gifs are also all amazing and I love everyone. Thanks Strudel!
  9. Okay I got a pretty long post here, but the tl;dr: Juani is a good at giving characters well character and gets a big +1 from me, even though I have a pretty big question at the end. I've interacted and seen at least two of Juani's characters in action. Vol-Blakk Xul-Qrr'Liax is a pretty good CE and actually kind of fun to be around. Now I must admit there are relatively few CE's that I think are bad, but plenty I would mostly avoid. Vol is absolutely one I'd put my chars around. Unless I'm mistaken we had an interesting dialogue between my Engineering Apprentice and Vol about why my char was wearing a voidsuit while working on a camera in science. I made the comment, "Oh it's because I like the feel of them, and has nothing to do with forgetting to grab a pair of welding goggles." Vol saw what that implied and instead of berating or just letting it go, replied with, "I will give you this one, I sometimes forget my gloves." That was a small but fun little interaction. Furthermore I've worked and seen Nahla Wasem. She is a solid HoS who in my experience roleplays escalation in a fantastic way, gives clear orders, and seems like a character. I have no doubt Juani knows how to play security and gives character to their characters! Now to the backstory. It's pretty good actually. I like the fact these IPCs were made for a function but became unnecessary and were discarded. Having a previous job before getting with NT was interesting too. Now I would make a comment about them getting their cadetship done in the backstory, if I didn't already fully believe Juani was a competent Security player with what I've seen from Nahla. So that's not a problem. Still I do have a question. We have quite a few Security IPCs already, a good few being shells. How will Autumn be different than the already existing Security IPCs?
  10. Blessed post. Blessed operation. May Security continue to grow in the spirit of fun loving adventures, and may many more operations of similar importance as Operation Sprinkles be carried out for the good of the station. I salute you brave officers
  11. Okay, lemme be real here. I actually started to like Rob as you worked on making him more of a legit person. I think I got here shortly after you started working on him being less of a meme and more of a person to try subverting the meme or whatever. Still I had some alright interactions with Rob and he seemed to be a person. As for your Unathi, everything checks out. Although it seems a little extreme for so much to happen over just one sparring incident. Like not impossible by any means, extreme things happen, just it does seem to be pushing things a little. I get it's the clan sparring match, is it like a competition for the clan? That would make it seem perfectly fine in my opinion. So many seeing your son be a complete coward in a competition for honour, yeah Guwandi and Guwan he. Besides that, I kind of love the backstory. The mugging, having to work at a fast food place, and the emphasis on the one way trip is good. I like what I've seen from your RP, OOC you seem like an alright guy. + 1
  12. Dude that's freaking dope! Glad you managed to pull it all together and it looks great.
  13. So let's say that someone uses an apprentice/intern character to learn an entire department; however, when the time comes for the character to fill an official position in that department the player chooses for that character to retain certain information. So for sake of argument let's say someone uses an engineering apprentice, they learn almost the entirety of engineering and even atmospherics, but when the time comes for them to be a full engineer the character only retains construction and engine setup skills. The player then uses the knowledge they gained from this single character to make other characters to fit the other roles they learned. Would this be better in your eyes? Sorry it's a lot of words to say something I feel is quite simple, but I can't for the life of me just say it in a short few sentences. I also do hope what I said makes sense.
  14. Sophie Rifler is a hard character for me to just give a +1 as a Head of Security. Many of the early mistakes were simply caused because you were new and adjusting to the Heavy RP standards and rules of the server/regulations a security officer must maintain. I've seen you make some slip ups and hiccups before and after your feedback thread was made; however, I must admit I've seen a general improvement from your character. They generally stay within guidelines and regulations (in my recent experience). However, I think I want to see more from the character before I give you a solid recommendation. I'm really just getting back into the server and previously I haven't personally seen Sophie grow into a character that I feel comfortable in the HoS position. I would also like to see other's opinions on this as well. So I say just keep working on improving your roleplaying you'll get there in no time.
  15. I don't think their points are, "There shouldn't be criticism," it's just that a loredev shouldn't be viewed negatively for not personally contacting community members about lore changes, especially since said changes are usually displayed on the forums before they are fully implemented. However, Mofo's use of numbers is a little off. Yes, 5 Taj players making a complaint wouldn't be that big of a deal considering there are over 100 Taj whitelists and usually more than 5 Taj players active daily. That is simply not the case with Vaurca players. There are maybe 5 or so Vaurca players a day. Plus there are much fewer Vaurca whitelists in general, so those 5 voicing their opinions is a bigger percentage than the hypothetical 5 Taj players. That being said I think this is the best way to go about having problems, work together, get your points, and make them known. Maybe the last point is moot, maybe it is not. That's not what matters. What matters is there are some people who have played a lot of Vaurca approaching the loredev about issues they have in the hopes of finding a conclusion.
  16. Ckey/BYOND Username: AllyBearsley Position Being Applied For (coder, mapper, spriter): General/Engineering Wiki Maintainer Past Experiences/Knowledge: This is a rough one since I’ve had very little experience working with wikis. I know I worked with one 40k fanon wiki, but due to issues within the community I backed out of that one. I do have experience editing and formatting documents to make them easier to read and manage. I know that probably isn’t much but it is at least something. Examples of Past Work: Example of Edited Google Doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uL3HJ0XuOnYGrl004IybcfT1HqRQFm25w_8ewjadG_g/edit?usp=sharing I actually styled this doc based on the common styles found on wikis. Preferred Mode of Communication (Skype, Steam, etc.): Discord ( AllyBear#5010 ) Additional Comments: I know I am bringing virtually no proper experience to the table. What I do bring is a desire to help. The wiki in some areas is kind of a mess, especially the barren engineering pages. A lot of pictures do not show up, some of the information is wrong, and we’re missing a lot of pages that wikis like baystation have. I’d very much like to help fix errors and expand this part of the wiki. I’m in no way a master of engineering or SS13 mechanics in general, but I am willing to work with others to find errors wherever they are and fix them.
  17. I agree with Kaed. ID's fit comfortably into your PDA and comfortably on a slot at your hip. With this addition I imagine a lot of people are just going to keep their ID in that convenient slot, so they can walk through their departments uninterrupted. To take it off in the hallways is virtually pointless. Why remove something that is in a convenient slot already? It just takes time and is for some flavour(?). I think the way things are is fine. If IDs were in anyway uncomfortable, I could understand this change. As is it seems entirely pointless.
  18. The fact this could give antags some solid "steal something form the station" goals and even could make some interesting events gets my support.
  19. Remember that tackling is a lot about leverage and preparedness of both participants. I like the idea of Unathi being tough to tackle, but there are instances where a decently in shape human could tackle one. Of course accounting for this would be balls on hard. I mean adding any of this would be pretty intense I think. Still I would love for tackling to be implemented into the game, but I like tackling people and things in real life soooooo.
  20. 1. Damn 2. I would love for the additional slot to be some variation that made it clear you are working to assist the chef.
  21. The point is not: "There are bad coworkers sometimes, please remove slot". That is definitely part of the point, and the easiest to counter. However the rest of the point is: Even with competent coworkers there is no room in the kitchen to properly work and you will step on each others toes. As a janitor you move over the whole station. Two competent janitors can work well together, with one covering one half of the station and the other covers the other. Hell, two good janitors can go the whole shift without running into one another. That cannot be done in the kitchen. It is too small and the placement of the microwave, oven, and fryer are too close to one another for two chefs to work comfortably under almost any circumstance. Having said that. I will say again: I have not played much on newmap. Perhaps Aurora II extends the space, or items, in the kitchen enough for two chefs to work together in harmony, without having them constantly run into one another every time something pings. If this is the case, my complaints with the two slots will effectively be moot, and I accept that. However, from experiences in the Exodus's kitchen it's never been fun having two cooks even if both are good.
