Hmm D.S would technically be like Karima's ward if it works like that. So I'd think it be alright. For the contract.termination, would be tricky. NT legally can't download her into an Android seeing as she's Karimas property. So they would also need to terminate Karimas contract and bill her for damages, then take D.S as forfeit.

It's why I went through the trouble of doing a taxonomy for the Unathi. I thought it'd be a nice touch.

I like to think there's at least a decent hand full of people here who could give a decent critique. Perhaps if we found those people to offer a decent criticism of the lore then perhaps that might make life easier. I mean, since I've returned back to the community I've been wanting to expand things from the station, reading up on the lore and trying explore the SS13 universe if you will. And if I am able to help, or have anyone else help you guys then I'd be more than happy to.

Why make this thread hostile? I thought I was being reasonable enough, and nor was I really referring to you.

I'd think a consensus would be good. Everyone has different ideas about what they deem minor, be it fashion, science or current wars. So it would be good for those who do have an interest, to discuss and come up with something that could be deemed canon.

Going to put it plainly, I'm not shitting on the lore team nor am I complaining about their work. I just want, there to be more depth behind some of the things. I hate it when I ask things such as to what classification Diona go under or anything that goes a little in depth about how things work. Only to be asked, 'is it really necessary?' 'Why do you honestly want to know?' and things like that, and it kind of irritates me. Why can't we go in depth? I know Frances made a campaign to improve the Wiki's layout but I'm pretty sure they never meant stripping down the depth to a species. And if they did.... well, damn. It kind of kills the splendor for me and a few others who may or may not geek out on the little details. I enjoy discussing the Skrell homeworld and how it would actually 'work' to justify the adaptations the Skrell have. Even going so into working out how much oxygen would be on the planet to see what size the insects they eat were. Hell, I enjoy figuring out that Unathi is more than likely a Diapsid due to their skull structure. And also, trying to figure out how a walking plant man consisting of plant creatures would become that way via evolution and so forth. We should encourage.... well, giving a shit about the lore. People want to know about the culture, the science and history. So let them you know? If you don't want to go that deep, then get some people in to go that deep. To build a house, you must have more than supports and walls, you need plumbing, electricity and insulation. Otherwise you just have a... shack. And to reiterate, I'm not trying to point fingers or to criticize unfairly. Writing lore is hard when it's basically galaxy wide. I just want the curiosity that people have to be... nurtured?

As I said about Fortune in the other thread. She's probably the most reliable Scientist I've met. I can usually come into Research and know she will actually be helpful. Be it prosthetic repairs, information or dealing with unknown tech. People will give the character a hard time due to her hair but when it boils down to it, she's one of the better played characters in Research. There's others obviously, but eh. Also Elena Seto, because Bokaza has been anticipating some feedback on the character. She's pigheaded, socially inept and occasionally rash. But then again, she isn't petty nor prone to bitchfits on little things, in my experience. I assume she's from some sort of military background, giving her general response and attitude to most things but she's not exactly a heartless, arrogant or corrupt bitch. So props to her, she just needs to grow as a character.

Depends Blue, extended rounds go for two hours minimum. Some say if you had three extended rounds in a row, that's six hours of your day, now six hours for that day not much has happened and you might want to spice things up. Sometimes I only have say... enough for one or two rounds a day, I'd rather have something spice up the round. Now don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of roleplay and I do it often but sometimes you don't have that much of your day to invest in what could be deemed as 'nothing.'

Absinthe should remain limited... due to it's nature.

I mean look at my Tajaran. He's pretty much the definitive cyborg, he was a science experiment and isn't really from Adhomai. If anything, that concept on it's own can be broken down into 'snowflakey.' He's heavily modified, a red flag for some people. He was an experiment, also a redflag. And then where he's from could also be a redflag for others. Yet when I presented the concept on the station, people seemed to enjoy the character perhaps mainly for his personality but the point is, there are going to be concepts ranging from the norm, to the strange. We are basing our roleplay in a world with singularities being used as power sources, brains being used as processors, cultists and wizards using 'bluespace' as means of magic. You also have creatures who can modify themselves and even become other people. You have a wonder fuel called plasma, that acts as a catalyst for almost every chemical reaction and resource collecting. You have cybernetic bird men whose memories are transferred to another birdman growing in a vat. You have geneticists unlock superpowers and slimes that can create materials or even life. You can clone people from a vat of biomass. You have spacefish that no one seems to question. You have treepeople made from small tree creatures. The universe in which we play in is batshit crazy, to use the term snowflake is invalid while you treat these oddities as the norm. Hell, IRL, there are many mutations that we don't even allow within the server. Yes, we need to draw a line, but in a universe so big, so screwed up and filled with so many fantastical elements. Should we draw the lines so close and narrow to our own ideas? Can we not play test what we see as snowflakey and see how it is presented, see if it's more believable than the talking tree or the spacefish chewing through metal and glass.

I've seen people do paperwork in Engineering. ICly you're supposed to, like an invoice.

Giving medication to Miko Du'Razhu is like giving a dog a bag of treats. They won't stop eating until they run out.

And I said, if you haven't played Security. Wasn't accusing everyone complaining of not having experience in Security. I was merely inviting a group of people to a different perspective, not an attack to anyone. But my original point is, at the end of the day. Not everyone will be happy with how Security reacts. Some will be pissed because they felt like Security ignored their plea for help, or perhaps they will be pissed because they felt Security overreacted. You can't make the round fun for everyone, that's the nature of Security. I also feel Security on Aurora isn't that bad compared to most servers. Now speaking from a perspective of an antag where I've been caught raiding vaults, partaking in revolutions and homicide. I've also found brig time to be enjoyable for what it is, I've had corrupt Officers abuse my characters for what they are or what they did and sometimes I see acts of compassion where the Warden would offer consul to the unfortunate criminal and help them overcome whatever IC reasons they had for committing the act. The biggest issue is, when Security attempts to give breathing room for antags, they either get killed off or get the crew angry. If the antags round shouldn't be cut off short, then neither should an Officers. When they meet in a dark alley, it's about which one of them makes the right call not who has the most enhancing roleplaying experience to date. Yes, there have been hostage situations that get ganked but then I've seen hostage situations poorly executed and they usually hold up in some insecure area. But what do you think happens in reality? They don't really turn out well for the criminals. Sure, the Security must take an IC mindset of the hostage's livelyhood but then the antag should take an IC mindset of 'am I making the right call.' What should make the round interesting with antags, is not if the antags should have room to move around and cause havoc but making the right call between life and death. The adrenaline of being in a tight situation. If you get caught early in the round sucking a protohuman/crew member into a husk, sucking blood from people or carrying around a lethal firearm then you've fucked up, you made the wrong call and that's the consequence. It's supposed to be an incredibly expensive research station. But on the topic of minor crimes, we should change the SoP from two minute sentences to fines. Yes, fining people for littering or harassing another crew member. Anything below a medium crime shouldn't really be arrest worthy unless the person stupidly makes a runner. Sorry for the typos and such, I tend hammer out a post before the good old editorial check.

I'd interact them. It's better to give them the benefit of the doubt and let them develop their ability opposed to stamping them out.
