I'm primarily referring to... most discussions. I've seen some that go sour really quickly, so I thought I'd be sincere with this thread. Pointless, unsatisfying but I thought I'd give it a go.

I said the role was created for chucklefucking, it kind of goes with the original crude humor of SS13. I'm not saying because people will use it to chucklefuck, I'm saying's it pretty much the reason you have them around, they serve little else than to fulfill the classic SS13 moments such as a clown, taking down security with a bar of soap and a sunflower. Not to say clowns do not roleplay, I've seen them do it, but it's usually silly and nonsensical.

Weren't Clowns and Mimes created for the sole purpose of chucklefucking? And isn't that the reason people play them for? Now we can argue that the Chaplain and Bartender are redundant. But atleast we don't end up with 'Honkfucker McBastard' the Honkdoctor who injects people with chloral hydrate or a psychopathic mime who inevitable becomes a mute serial killer. It just wouldn't suit a Heavy Roleplay environment.

- Roleplaying females. I mean, I have two female characters but I worry about how I present that character. Not mention I dislike them being hit on. But eh.

I've decided we need to wipe the slate clean and start over. Perhaps avoid creating any more discussions for now, and I apologize for creating one that seemed to cause quite a mess. Sadly I'm somewhat blunt and heavy handed at the best of times, I'm not good with being delicate on how I deliver my points, view or arguments but I try not to be bitter with any of you. I assure you, that all of you I have the sincerest respect for and appreciate your thoughts on what is correct and what is appropriate. And I'm not saying this as if I'm on the moral high ground, in fact I'm probably at the foot of the wall chucking rocks over the top, just to see what happens. I'm saying this, because I forget how delicate the peace can be, how ethics, be it for a pretend space station with pretend policies can be incredibly sensitive. To the point, where we don't seem to argue against each other's points but simply against each other. If we are to stop passive aggressiveness, toxicity and bitterness then we must combat it with sincerity, tact and empathy. And this is including me to, so don't think I'm giving you a lecture. Now let's put past threads aside that have surpassed their welcome and put unresolved issues aside for now. Perhaps it is bad to leave such issues resolved, but at the moment it isn't the right time to hit them head on. Before all else, we'll need to be little more cohesive with each other. I know this sounds like the bullshit you'd hear at the nearest Hippie Commune, but I firmly believe we can work together to create a stronger sense of... community? So give me a hand? Give each other a hand and let's just make it a little more enjoyable to log onto the forums because at the moment, it's somewhat depressing.

After causing a few fires to get insight to what people think of genetic engineering. I've decided that genetic engineering is readily available to people. Going with current day technologies and the current stand point of cloning (which falls under Genetic Engineering) people can, in theory, have genetic mods for hair and eyes. To state genetic engineering is too expensive would also state cloning is incredibly expensive, yet we go by the knowledge cloning is covered by insurance, this is not to say it isn't expensive but this to say someone could come into work with light genetic mods. With that aside, the only issue would be what the employers would find acceptable for their staff. In the same way current day employers with tattoos and piercings.

I do dislike people who don't comprehend their own mortality in these situations.

The most practical compromise is to announce the finalised policy to the non-whitelists. There is no need to see us bicker and some of us have opinions that would have us chastised by the community. I believe it is a safer place to discus sensitive topics relating to command and that non-whitelists shouldn't get involved until everything has been decided. edit: Woops, double post. Delete the one above. Say, after the policy has been put into practice and people are hating it, then the Heads can put it under review. That way we can give trial runs to policies without it being shot down by 'what ifs.' So I offer this, we announce the final results of the discussions and keep it at that.

In that regard I can respect that. Though it's the nature of the younger players to go about lynching, generalising perhaps but it does seem that way. Though at the same time, racism shouldn't affect productivity or cause harassment to a fellow employee. To deny services because of prejudice or to harass a colleague is a big no no in the workplace.

I recommend taking a break for a few days or so. I usually remove myself from the server until I get a craving for it.

We shouldn't let practicality get hindered by social issues. There is no real scandal or reason for everyone to see the Heads discuss or bicker about their personal policies. Nor is it necessary in bringing people who do not play heads, get involved with a party they are not involved with. Not because we're elitist, but each Head position is pretty difficult and having a board where heads can butt heads or exchange experiences has actually benefited how the Heads play. Most heads play more or less on the same page now, allowing crew to not have one head who does something completely different to another, just only dealing with minor variances. It's not about elitism, it's about being able to discuss with people in the same boat. Without disrespect to Bokaza, I got respect for you, but you've basically created the issue despite it never being one in the first place.

I prefer the privacy to be honest. Heads can discuss tactics, policies and share tips without the community getting stuck in. Things need to be discussed and decided upon then it can be produced to the community. Otherwise it'll be the clusterfuck of arguing and going off topic. No offense, but it happens

As someone who plays a Tajaran that runs the bar quite often. You usually get called a cat or other apparent racial slurs. I recall one incident, of a chemist Miko was getting along with. The chemist decided to get friendly with a female scientist which resulted in them going on a date of sorts. But when the chemist found out that the girl once fancied Miko, he dumped her and told Miko that he didn't want to get with some cat-fucker. I like to think racism exists very much so on the station.

I'd say post the concepts.

In my mind, their feet wouldn't work with boots. Unathi feet in particular are structured differently and require something like a leather bracer designed for feet. Though I guess we could dub the boots as Unathi boots and not bother respriting.
