  1. Peter Stone once had a partner during his days as a Detective on one of the outer colonies. Little did he know his partner was absorbed by a Changeling, who of which attempted to kill him. Peter managed to kill the man with a spoon and will remind anyone he's working with about this fact. He's also a fan of nettle soup, despite it almost killing him in the past.

  4. Perhaps we should not get too abrasive, there's critique and then there's shitique
  5. I like to see this as an event, I have character in mind who's had a checkered past and such. No, not one who enjoys murder and the like. So it in event form would be a good idea I'd say, especially for extended. Also, on another note it would be interesting to step away from a research station theme and move onto something else that NT would find profit in... though that'd only be food for thought.
  6. I mainly partake in the commander battles on the Napoleonic side of things. Fear the Hussar's steel and rue the day you positioned your line on reasonable level terrain

  8. We seem to be confused as to what the Officer part of name entails. So let's think about the term 'Police Officer' and let's think real hard about it. In the police force, they have ranks similar to that of the military and they are called 'Police Officers' because they are Officers of that policing force, got it? The term Officer does not mean 'Cops!' it is merely an identification group for ranking members within a department. Besides, they are less Security Guards than they are Security Officers. Security Guards are to guard or protect an item/business/VIP and so forth while the Security Officers on our station are there to act as peacekeepers, which is more akin to that of a policing force. So I don't think we need the unnecessary change.
  9. We need our dear old spriters to design some new hairstyle that look a little less... awful. I'm sure we have someone at the ready who is more than capable to produce some decent designs. (Small posts.)
  10. I personally dislike the hidden weekend. When I am available to play usually, the server is completely dead and I tend to find that I won't be able to play until a few hours, which can be a pain when you've got the appetite for some SS13. Now some argue that the roleplay is enhanced but I always find myself interacting with the crew less, due to the fact the crew is barely present and are usually tucked away into the corners of the station. On one hand, I can see the benefits of having the hidden weekend but on the other hand, I don't think it's beneficial enough for me personally... due to how my own experience is suffering. But if people are loving it somehow, then I suppose I will endure the stagnancy when I'm online.
  11. I think he has the potential to be a good HoS.
  12. They have a fax machine. What would you like to see in their office? I believe the coming update will give them a clipboard, but I can't think of anything else that would be needed they don't already have. Hmm perhaps if we gave them some more space, if possible, and potentially their own individual work desks so they can work on their own individual cases without clutter. It would be nice if there was a waiting room for those who are making a complaint or waiting for an interview. Perhaps a desk for people to fill out complaint forms too. I mean, space is always an issue though.
  13. I propose a means for them to Fax centcomm and an improved design for their office. That's all they really need, the suggestions that have been put out will only bork the job.
  14. I would like to suggest that using the word 'Cult' to not be considered metagaming also. I've seen it rarely on here but on some servers if you state something like 'they appear to be acting like a cult of some sort,' you tend get the response of 'what's a cult?' via IC or 'Metagamer!' via OOC.

  16. Looks very good
  17. I might sound like an ass, but the main reason I've not considered buying Civ 4 is the aesthetics of it, which shouldn't be everything I know. But when your playing games that last quite a long time, it's nice to... enjoy looking at it.
  18. I'm almost certain that I have read somewhere that the human brain can go for around 150 years if healthy, thus probably giving cyborgs that as a shelf life. And with alkysine being a cure all for brain damage... A person could live to 200? I have no idea, I'm using trivial knowledge on this one
  19. Clowns and Mimes made no sense on a Research station, and were only really placed there for the juvenile humor that Space Station 13 is known for on most servers. While on the other hand, ghosts speaking from the afterlife on a Cult round where Cultists are slowly pulling the seams of reality apart makes more sense. Especially when they have the magic to manifest ghosts and create shades. When the clowns and mimes were removed, it only really hurt the chucklefucks who wanted nothing more than to be a comedic genius and leak their brains all over the station floor through many mental prolapses, that they so overly enjoyed. If we destroy this mechanic, then we're mainly hurting the decent members, who of which use it to roleplay after being taken out of the round. So, the main opposition will be that of the roleplayers rather than the chucklefucks who will simply find another means of breaking the immersion. But if we are to validate this logic then, let's remove Hydrophonics, they only grow space weed. Let's remove Cargo, the majority of Cargo usually don't even do their jobs and so forth. The fact of the matter is, their will always be people abusing a mechanic or job, that is something inevitable with games, and online ones at that. To simply remove a mechanic because you dislike it and experience griefing with it, would warrant a lot of abuse worthy mechanics to be removed from the game. Then you may aswell play a serious rp server on Gmod, in which you stare at a table and pretend you're in a seat, drinking coffee.
  20. The request is pretty much a free-for-all if you're up to it. I can't find any references as of yet, but I am happy to leave to it the spriter's imagination.
  21. After playing my Surgeon character for a few rounds, I have found myself forced out of the job I selected. This is mainly due to either, starting with another Surgeon or having a Surgeon join mid round. Which I don't have an issue with, I usually share the workload with them and it's usually fine. But recently I've encountered a select few who tend to 'hog' the operations and force other surgeons out of their work places. Cases of this would be, I will be waiting in the theater for a patient that's coming and the door would open, with a fellow Surgeon telling me to basically fuck off. Which is rather irritating, when your round is being hindered by the, not the character, but more so the player I find. So I suggest an additional operating table or theater to compensate for the bad attitude. I deem it a bad attitude for, when ever I'm doing a Surgery, I will allow nurses to monitor and fellow Surgeons to be present within the room without grabbing or pushing them out. I also deem it good etiquette to share the work load rather than doing every operation, if I see there is a fellow Surgeon on duty then I would give them a chance to operate also. So please, find a compromise for this, be it the additional tables or another room for surgery. I know it sounds like I'm being butthurt and this post will probably get a negative response. But it fucks with my round and I find that I am unable to get involved when I find myself chastised for trying to. It can be compared to, an additional chef being put on the manifest but will kick the original chef out of the kitchen or a chemist forcing the other one out of the lab, so they can work alone.
  22. I would like it to stay as it is, and if we do get chucklefucks then kick or ban them temporarily due to it being HEAVY ROLEPLAY server, where this shouldn't happen. I mean, if I find myself as a ghost during a cult round with my body undiscovered or with unfinished business, I will attempt to write things like 'shuttle dock... notes... find' or something vague, as if it pains me to touch the physical world and hope the crew notice the blood text. I mean, if you get murdered or die in a horrible accident, it's nice to be able to roleplay as a ghost and still as your character without having to wait thirty minutes to be a new character, a cruddy mouse, a pAI or Maintenance drone just to keep your involvement in the round. We shouldn't be chopping away features, no matter how minor they are, because of chucklefucks abusing them. Because with that mentality, we'd be stripping away a lot of features, which seems fine if those features aren't ones you like or ones you're not a patron to, but ... then you'd need to consider the people who utilize the feature properly, and how you'd be doing one over on them, no matter how minor.

  24. I always wanted to see gene-splicing myself. You know, play god and create new organisms. But eh, that also might be questionable.
  25. Feel free to, it'd be much appreciated
