1. My only issue is that it further presses the issue of pepperspray hitting YOURSELF on many occasions, and not the actual person you're shooting at. Also, this change is going to inspire further dislocations of legs in many stressful situations (e.g. on a cultie or something) rather than the flashspam you're used to. As far as flashes go, they're fine, but I just won't use them as religiously.
2. I hate bad antags. Usually I can robust them into oblivion, or they try to be robust and implode, or manage to actually walk two steps into Security and die. Does that mean we should fucking BAN them? No. Everybody should get the chance to learn from their mistakes- punishing someone for trying to be an antag is just crude.
3. Welcome back, everybody. We're on our monthly visit to this thread, and we're only going to be quoting what I said earlier and that's pretty much it. Skull132, what do you think of this suggestion as is?
4. Agreed, clown behaviour doesn't have a place here, despite clowns being great on other servers. +1
5. At first, I was about to let out a shitstorm with the fury of a thousand suns, but there's a sensible replacement, so I'm okay with that. Plus this makes a lot more sense. Ask for ERT on highpop, you're gonna get it probably, and the people playing them are going to be sensible. You won't be able to ask for ERT on lowpop (the people just aren't there) and it avoids the less amount of antags getting shitstomped, because if it's lowpop there's not going to be many antags. While they can still send a reasonable fighting force at them, just with less shitstomp material. But dear god, I know, I KNOW that Faysal is going to push the "call militia" button on highpop and drown the antags in militia bodies due to the unrelenting tide of angry ghosts. So I support this, this seems cool. +1
6. this is the best idea since heart disease
7. If you can budget correctly on Merc, you can get what you need, get in and get out no problem. Likewise for Ninja and other TC related antagonists. Besides Traitor, of course. On Traitor, you're limited to kind of hanging out with incognito gear (unless you're Sec, which means you can decapitate the Sec team from the inside, and already have combat gear) waiting for some other Traitor to get his ass handed to him while you scurry off to do whatever you wanted to do while Sec is distracted. That's not fun. I'd much rather have a Traitor that starts with a major, climactic build-up with a cool end, rather than having to scurry off to find so many individual fuckwits who do the most basic of crimes with their shit, only to run off to break/steal some mission critical gear right when we were busy dealing with some random mook who broke doors. That's the opposite of fun. The only time I've seen recently that Traitor is done well with a lot of tension is when the Traitor has been maxing out R&D, is in Security, or rushed the Vault (and usually dies right after). I approve of this suggestion, +1.

No, it's very very annoying to manage, especially in combat. People have spatial awareness, they understand when there's someone behind them.
9. this better be a meme, i dont think you'll pull through with obliterating an entire faction in the lore that's just becoming popular
10. Let me try and explain why revamping diona for Cult doesn't work proper, compared to IPC's: dionacode sucks man
11. This is... a lot of fucking work, holy shit. Moreso than I ever expected. As per usual, I'm all glad for expanding the lore on a given company, a sect, a government or even a civilisation itself, and this is not even work based on just any sort of idea by the player making the lore, rather based on history itself (and he knows his history). I'm convinced Snake knows his shit- he's shown it, and has become a community pillar through Jack McJacko in the few short weeks around. Giving him some lore he can spout that is recent (despite the bloat over time, there's bound to be some interesting tidbits- this can be seen with the First Luna Council referenced in the original post) is well deserved, especially given the fact that Christianity is well and alive in space, as characters before McJacko has shown. +1
12. Oh, it damages them much more than it used to? I'm okay with that.
13. Diona should not be damaged as normal, as even their normal damage can be negated whatsoever. They should be spending biomass, and start degenerating limbs if they fuck themselves up hard enough. IPC's should be affected in some other way, yet I can't think of one right now. Their limbs shouldn't just be falling off, yet they have no other way to tick damage. Maybe their battery drops like a rock?
14. Grabs should just break escape attempts, in my opinion. It's not too abstract and doesn't require a new verb.
15. Since you need me to make it blatantly obvious and that you can't read into a general statement, believing anything that isn't a DIRECT -1 to be not against (you're perfectly able to do this in regards to what you believed as positive responses, but not for negative ones) I will -1 this. Especially as this is a PR went up after all discussion stopped- discussion should be happening across the board of a PR, instead of slipped in amidst a contentious opinion on where this PR stands. It's happened before and it's shitty. -1 to this suggestion as a whole, and the PR itself. I'd suggest everybody who has a negative opinion to this to voice blatantly this opinion, as apparently it doesn't count otherwise. Likewise, everybody who has a positive opinion should also voice a +1. EDIT: If there is questioning regarding "why tho" towards your PR, this should actually be refuted. Formal and professional, two statements for close-to-the-same things. The Noire esque content is professional, or formal. It fits the requirements for the standard, typical detective. How about instead of downright removing them, remove the mechanical benefits of wearing them, so your clothing restriction isn't limited by mechanical advantages? That would be a perfectly viable reason. So far, saying "I don't like noir content in 2560, it doesn't thematically fit the setting" has been given "why tho" responses as, it's just a single role, and a single set of clothing. EDIT 2, Electric Boogaloo: I agree with AmoryBlaine though, the actual suits they wear should be available in the loadout menu. I'd also like to go over "but we can put the trenchcoat and fedora into the loadout menu though" which, for characters who typically wear the trenchcoat and fedora is simply just going to them and saying "Your loadout points, hand 'em over." Even then, I have a suspicion that characters who previously wore the trenchcoat either will continue to, or only did so for mechanical benefit. So why remove them from the locker entirely? They're just one available suggestion of apparel out of many.
16. The issue is, if you do not give them immunity to their own EMP's, and they can't rune draw, they're dead weight. No cult will WANT to convert such a useless piece of scrap if it'll literally HINDER them, and not do anything better. They'll just sacrifice your soul to the Glorious Dark Lord Nar'Sie and make you a construct.
17. Corrupt the IPC, so they are immune to CULT EMP's, gain imbued armor and a bigass sword. Essentially, THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE. When the cult goes loud, BRING IN THE DARK MECHANICUM!
18. The whole "synthetic conflict" is based on "Do they have emotions? Do they have sentience?" Or, as ye olde phrase goes, "Do robots dream of electric sheep?". The point is not to answer it to provide some cool conflicts of opinions to be explored on the server. But they do have souls. That's, like, canon dude.
19. There have been two given possible solutions, one of which was part of the code originally quite easily, I agree, traumas require mechanical ways of going about it- but using debatable methods of therapy isn't. Here's two much more scientific fields, which would almost definitely be explored as a field of medical science in the far future. Chemistry and You: The Psychiatrist's Method of Knowing How to Manage Your Shit Correctly Traumas fuck with the brain, that's for sure. Traumas can cause chemical imbalances and completely and utterly fuck your mental hormones up sideways, absolutely screwing with your mental pathways. For this, a controlled dose of prescribed chemicals can be used as a prescription basis to correctly balance you out. How this system would work is as follows: 1: Change the current chakra stuff to a trauma detection lounge. Keep it simple, but essentially give it a readout of how severe each trauma is in comparison to each other. 2: Using the given readout, you can find the required amount of units for each dose. 3: Forward the required prescription to the chemist. They'll make the stuff. 4: The patient takes the required prescription and their trauma is cleared. Mental damage starts ticking if the Chemist or the Psychologist screwed the pooch. 5: The dose is only required (preferably) once per round, although once per two hours can be a thing (if you really want it to). Effectively, it's a method to erase the trauma. Check against the right amount of prescription, yes, remove it. I have no idea how easy or difficult that is to code, but it was a system requested far earlier in this thread, and I'm okay with that. Unlike all the advertised and implemented changes the PR proposed for the Psychologist, this is a field currently in development and is constantly being advanced as a medical science, along with my second suggestion... Neurology and You: Why Needles in Your Brain Isn't Always Bad If Trauma's fuck with the brain, the Neurologist is the pest control for insanity. Rebrand the Psychologist to the Neurologist (as the fields overlap in places and Psychiatric knowledge would be important for the roleplayed aftereffects of dealing with post-trauma) and give it a surgery table. Surgeons are no longer accomplished brain surgeons outside of painfully lobotomising someone's brain, while the Neurologist uses their advanced medical science to nip those traumas in the bud. Effectively, like the same trauma-removal system we had before, just shunting it off to the now Neurologist instead of the Surgeons, who already have way too much on their plate as is, in hectic rounds. This system would allow for cloning to be effective regardless of whether the Surgeon is around or not, and allow trauma care to happen across the board of the round. This also develops the Psychiatrist's medical know-how and makes them feel involved as part of Medical. Hopefully, this seems good. Even though I suck at suggestions, and typically screw up my words, I hope this was good to read. Let me know what you think, Skull132.
20. If you make Cult IPC's immune to their own AOE EMP (which I imagine it'd be a bitch to code) then I am all for it. As is, it's fucking irritating being a Cult IPC because everybody around you is locked off from practically their most powerful weapon in order to keep you alive. It's ridiculous.
21. Hey, hello, I'm back again. A few weeks and limited responses, seems like this was swept under the rug. I still don't understand any of this PR, or how it got merged considering there was no mention of it being pushed on the actual linked discussion thread, nor was a rework of psychology ever proposed outside of a thread made to deliberately complain about it. Psychology is a roleplay field, and it was always intended to be. I'm all for introducing some gamey elements to Psychology, but we can do better than scarring isolation therapy, debatable chakra therapy, and hypnosis. What happened to Psychology being one of the more serious fields of medical science? Why don't we introduce an actual hard science, such as neurology into psychology, if we want to make Psychologists more important? I don't understand.
22. You're supposed to wear formal dress. The only items of note that are of "noire meme" is the trenchcoat and fedoras. You don't have to wear them, just be in formal dress.
23. I'll put my chips in by saying: The magical sounding chems are the chems that REQUIRE magic. I don't like admins or people who have inputted secret chems knowing those recipes. I think it's a fucking copout, by someone who did none of the work bar maybe adding the recipe to the code to learn the recipe, unlike everybody else. I think it should be contained to the four people who have the server config. But at the same time, the chemicals' names are magical, because they actually require some pretty magical shit. I can't say more without spoiling it.
24. Can we mention one of the most vital, on-command tools of Cult is to eliminate electrics so they can move in at close range, as well as avoid the pesky difficult-to-convert AI and borgs? And that this is a area-of-effect, essentially dicking over any IPC's in a screen's radius plus a bit more? I'm up for this change, buuuuut I think for the sake of gameplay, they should be able to be sharded, so they can be converted in some fashion.
