  1. Detective uniforms aren't even red right now, I don't think they were blue back in the day either. I don't think they really qualify in the end as uniforms, either, since there are a decent few variants.
  2. Nothing like random, 2 minute long staring contests in a hallway because you stopped just short of messing up the other guy's object pulling and you don't want to move out of the way.
  3. One of the screenshots is me getting EMP'd because Dreamix can't aim. Kek. Alsoyaybluesec
  4. I am not entirely sure on the extent of it but de-energised glaives are still very much dangerous.
  5. I for one was wholly expecting it since round start, I've seen SM cascades, I know what causes them, and I knew that it was wholly easy for an AI to do, especially with the CC announcement it made to justify the construction. What I wasn't expecting was how long it actually took before something set it off. My two cents regarding:
  6. Detective Kah'jarl Qua'ra'dynh's own opinion for this round. After desperately trying and failing to conceal Sam Lowe's former body that was thrown in disposals, I'm informed that the clone was to be publicly executed in the bar by security, of course we were reluctant and pussy footing but he was getting there, we get them in the bar and then...he's not executed? I wasn't paying attention because I was busy breaking up a fight between the Vaurca and bartender but Lowe is gone, and I'm later informed he was executed. Now, if this happened in the AI upload, then all I really have to say is, really? A public execution of the Captain would be a delicious bit of Roleplay and event for the round, and it's either force security to go through and keep the AI's favor at the cost of killing an innocent man, have the crew refuse and stop the borg from doing it, catalyzing open resistance because not enough people want to compromise their morals, or have the borg execute him and send a clear message to the crew that resistance is futile and that it has consequences. Backing out of the execution, having him privately killed in the AI upload, and then telling the crew he's dead does nothing except kill a player again without any gain to make the round better. What eventually catalyzes security's resistance at least is a borg being told to gun down a random cat in engineering in front of them. Not exactly as significant as a public killing of the Captain yeah?
  7. Contest 'ought to start today/tomorrow, that's when the update with the contest code has been said to hit I believe.* *Unless coders fuck up.
  8. -It's much more efficient to inject medicines and force pills without asking for permission, your patient should trust you to know what's best. -The no smoking signs are merely suggestions if you are medical personnel. -Always roll wounded to medical as fast as you possibly can, treating wounds on-site is for the lazy. -The janitor is planning on sabotaging equipment, watch him at all times. -Assume any dosage of the requested medicine for a prescription is fine, reading records of requesting personnel slows progress.
  9. Next update, roughly tomorrow IIRC.
  10. To my understanding from Jackboot's explanation somewhere, you roll Traitor/Merc/Pirate (Any of the non-weird antags) and you get a prompt or such asking if you'll participate in the antag contest, if you don't then it's gone and fine, if you do then you choose a faction, receive faction-objectives regarding synths, and you must go complete them. Win, fail, or be a supper sekrit syndi agent'll affect how the faction stands in the contest, with in-game mechanics actually adjusting a whatsit to keep track. Depending on how it ends up it's decided who wins after that.
  11. I I don't think you completely have to put up a head of staff char as the backstory you're giving(? Take this with a grain of salt, ask Tish.) but you should probably do it yeah? If she is actually to be a head of staff then which is it? Fluid Dynamics and 'a minimal amount of medical experience.' doesn't really sound like the sort of thing for a Chief Engineer or Chief of Med. I am 99.5% sure you can edit the post title as well just by using the edit function and editing the top-most text.
  12. I don't feel like judging anything right now. But minimum age for Head of Staff is 30, as it says on the qualifications bit for Chief Medical Officer (and every other head of staff) on its page on our own wiki. (Speaking of which we ported the job pages to our own wiki why are we still asking people to read the baywiki)
  13. TL;DR, and I can't really judge off a Skrell app, but this caught my attention as I was skimming. BST's aren't really a Thing, they are mysterious people working in strange ways and noone knows jack about them, the fact that they don't have any actual (public?) lore around them makes them unsuited to incorporate into a story. Although you can generally assume that because they're so rare, they're not going to chill in a bar somewhere. In personal experience, while a BST can certainly show up wherever they damn well feel like, they certainly aren't stopping to chat at any point in time. Also writing down dislikes is only required for a Head of Staff app but whatever you like.
  14. One thing that has always bothered me is not communication between staff and players but communication between the staff themselves regarding how to deal with something, on more then one occasion I've ahelped about something and had it dealt with but on ahelping about a similar thing later have another staff member say that it's fine. Of course everyone is going to have their own methods to deal with something but the occasional 'no you can't do that' and then someone else saying 'yes you can do that' tends to raise the question of if I really feel like dealing with that when I'm in a similar situation.
  15. IIRC right now they don't.
  16. Usiki nods to the camera. "Greetings Evans, it's good to see you, as for your question, after my accident, I spent some time hospitalized, after that, I had to deal with some things..." "If you are truly curious then details will most likely be in my medical records when I come back aboard."
  17. When everything is said and done, it's somewhere else done by someone else, typically with the after-action reports being done under a code-name. If I ever do traitor shit with CAC then I'll probably chalk it up to my old IPC Nuke Operative/Merc-for-hire Covert, for example.
  18. How will borgs navigate in a situation of no-power? Are they restrained to the z-level they are on unless they go outside and jump in a hole?
  19. Is it going to be Bay's Odin modified or our old Odin modified?
  20. In a rephrase, are we getting a new Odin at the same time as the new map or is that going to be done later? Along with the Aurora Derelict?
  21. Am curious, what pets will be added? Is work for Odin awaiting code as well or is that up for a latter time? How will bots like Beepsky handle the multiple Z-levels?
  22. Will janitors retain basic access to all departments?
  23. How many heads of staff are required to make a decision regarding something with Captain authority? Can just two sole heads of staff rule in on a decision and be able to call it a 'Majority of Heads of Staff ruling'? Although I presume if a single individual can be made a Acting Captain then two can act as majority of heads, but it's good to be informed. How does election of Acting Captain work in less-then-ideal situations? Can a single head of staff, with the rest of the heads dead or never present, legitimately declare their-self to be Acting Captain?
  24. Rest in peace Mister Question Mark, you shall be missed.
  25. Given that we're assigning opinions of other characters per every character that's put down, IC opinion. (Also given that 'family' 'crush' 'Committed relationship' and pretty much everything else doesn't work from an OOC perspective.)
