1. However, Unathi tend to be more... I guess Antagonistic, in my eyes. More confrontational and aggressive in most situations. Not to mention, most would follow their religion devotedly. Beyond the Hegemony being the first-contact with NanoTrasen (The current Hegemony that is) and being on /ok-ish/ terms with them. These would be standard, but this character isn't a standard Unathi. He's a heavily devoted religious Zealot on a quest to aid his fellow Maraziite and find artifacts of religious importance. And in turn, inform the Maraziite so they may purchase them. He acts differently, in my opinion. But that's just me. c: That make a little more... uh, expanatory? I don't know the word for that.
2. That is both mechanically and IC differences.
3. BYOND Key: DasFox Character Names: https://gyazo.com/4a2d9b59f0375f1a2bb0781c9c9c9bca Species you are applying to play: Unathi What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Red/Green Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I personally, after having read up on it, prefer Unathi to the other races I have a whitelist for. Their religions, (mostly the Maraziite Order, in which I am very interested in) are interesting to me more than other species, such as the Tajara and S'rand'marr worship and what not. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Well firstly, Unathi are Reptilian. Which means they are cold blooded. Beyond this, they are also deathly allergic to Ethanol, so they cannot drink alcohols beyond Unathi ones. Character Name: Iksaeors Keorat Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs Iksaeors Keorat, a Unathi of a small clan remnant on Moghes. During his childhood, his father drilled religious and societal views into his head. Making him believe Unathi are the only true heirs to the galaxy as the warriors they are. Not sharing his fathers views, however having them ingrained, he decided to worship Sk'akh when he became of age. This lead him to university in Skalamar, where he learned to be an Artifact Tender, and soon thereafter an Artifact Hunter. After his degree, he joined, as his father did, with the Military of his city. Specifically, within, He was part of the Skalamar City Garrison. During his time within, he became devout to his religous faith. Devoting himself to Sk'akh, he prayed to the Great Spirit every day, hoping to find his enlightenment. On a day near his end of military service, he understood what he was meant to do. His time guarding the temple of the capital, where all of the artifacts are stored, gave him enlightenment. He joined the Maraziite order, believing he shall be a keeper of artifacts. A knowledge-holder, in place of a militaristic inquisitor. He decided joining with NanoTrasen was the way for him to retrieve artifacts from the Unathi First-Contact with NanoTrasen, and has devoted himself to the task. Beyond this, his military experiences leaves him cold, brash, and a follower. Experiences from his childhood affect him moreso, leaving him treating both humans and Tajara like lesser creatures, not wanting to speak to them unless he has to. Finding himself placed on a NanoTrasen space station, The NSS Aurora, leaves him prominently spiteful, as he is not on his home planet. He's placed himself to this station in specific, as his comrade Zouzoror is upon it. What do you like about this character? The fact that it's a different take on the Maraziite order. Not only would they be religious 'secret police' in a way. They are the holders of artifacts, of which are religous in nature. Policing their study, and viewing. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I'd say... A solid 8/10. I could be better but I can RP fairly decently, I believe. Notes: I don't have much in the way of ideas when it comes to characters, so this was my best shot at creating one that didn't take seventy years. Plus I generally like the idea.
4. bad hop go way -1 But seriously, in honestly Calion's a good player. He does some solid RP, and understands the lore of races he plays. To myself, IPCs are a little iffy. But I think he can do a solid job at it. +1 from me.
5. +1. Every interaction I've had with McKinney has been wonderful. Their one on one RP is really really fun (specifically meaning their pAI). I also have had few, yet good interactions with both his RD and Andie. I know this isn't very detailed, but I'm never good at writing this stuff.
6. Presuming everything about me based on how I act in a video game against someone I dislike is very, very presumptuous about how I am outside of said video game. All I'm going to say on that, sorry schev. Though- If you believe I have enough care to constantly harass someone when I see them maybe once a day, and in that is usually on discord, where I will poke fun at them in a lighthearted way. Hardly harassment.
7. Skull132 That's not how I meant it. I also will correct people on small things regardless if I'm a moderator or not. It's just how I am, and beyond this application it's never (to my knowledge) been ahelped. If people are so upset by it, they can just ask me to stop. In the mentioned posts from my end (Telling their CMO in LOOC who was denying to scan someone who was obviously wounded, rushing into mercenaries alone even if they were already injured), my poking at them in LOOC is just a little bit of revenge on them putting me on the spot with the same behavior. And I apologize, I didn't quite understand what you meant by fair conduct at first. I in no way intended to force them into doing something entirely different. But if I'll be criticized for it by Xander, I'm going to criticize them back. -- Juani2400 If something as small as poking at people and correcting small mistakes is backseat modding, then sure I'll stop. Just being told by players "Stop backseat modding" because they don't like listening to me in LOOC isn't really a reason for me to presume it's *actually* that. I mean, just ignoring me would work, right? -- incognitojesus I wouldn't say its repeatedly, as I hardly interact with Xander. In LOOC or otherwise. But thanks for the feedback nonetheless.
8. Harass is the wrong word here. I poke at you in LOOC because you've made these points against me. IE, captain rushing mercenaries alone. (Which you did when one had a hostage.) If it's such a big issue, Xander, make a player complaint. As well as your comment about being rude to people; You were a CMO who was refusing to scan someone who was shot several times. But I'm not going to put every single scenario here. If i'm asked to sure, but I don't think this is the place.
9. I'm giving a -1 as well. Beyond the virology issues, they've failed to treat patients and done malpractice during multiple surgeries to the point of patients dying, or almost dying before competent physicians step in. Moving on, they also jobhop with this single character a lot. CSI, Virologist, Resident, Surgeon. Honestly if it were my choice I'd have you locked to a resident until you actually take the time and learn the medical mechanics so you don't 'accidentally' lobotomize another surgery patient. All in all, a big ol' -1 from me.
10. Then that's your opinion. But it's not what went through my head at the time. I really don't understand why everyone accuses me of being a validing gloryhunter. Validhunting is against the rules, yes, however imo this isn't validhunting. This is you upset I attacked you and wanting me to be punished in some way for it. You may say it's not, but this was something that happened that you didn't Ahelp, and making a complaint after because you weren't amused after the fact. Beyond this, Abosh was the Head of Security who *watched me* attack you during this time. I lost my authority ICly for my actions, and I even willingly handed it off as I wasn't implanted. If this were a problem and I needed to be punished for it, I would have been when I did it, no? There were more staff than just Abosh active as well, who I even spoke to in dsay after my death who were not involved within, if that's something you'd like to use against my reasoning here. I'm sure there's enough here for Garnascus to come to a conclusion on the matter through these two posts, so I'll leave it to him.
11. ICly, I had reason to do so. The juggernaut was being handled by security from what he saw, so he ran at the next problem. The person firing a very powerful firearm at his security team. Not to mention; If this was such a problem with me, I'd like XanderDox to be looked at and I Can provide a screenshot that shows the exact same thing happening. That aside, I OOCly knew it was a dumb thing to do, but that captain puts the crew over himself. And in that situation, he did what he thought was best, and it got him killed. To me it was an IC issue, and it was handled. I can assure you I'm not the only person who's done this.
12. Honestly, as someone who's interacted with ATHENA a *lot*, I believe they'd make a good IPC. They learn quickly as well, which is a good thing when picking up something new. Beyond this, I think ATHENA as a character also makes sense to be put into an IPC. Efficiency's sake, after all. +1 from me.
13. It's not that I don't take the criticism seriously. I do appreciate and note the criticisms, I just tried to end it on a jokey note so it didn't come across as me trying to be hostile or demeaning. Something I tend to do often without realizing.
14. You give me a -1 based on a single communication where I was aggravated as a player by repeatedly being talked over when I was asked what happened. I understand first impressions, but that's a little far out there in my opinion. I didn't say it in a way nor intention of being openly hostile. I legitimately just went "hey ya dumbfuck. Here's what happened." If that's such a major issue for me being casual as a player, might as well start banning people for being salt.
15. I'm commenting on this to defend myself from asinine claims. Before and after, yes. I had to Cryo as a chef, and the other Headrev didn't want it. Two randoms were picked, which were wanting something like 'hey equal pay for all', not much rev support. Its a capitalist corporation and that makes absolutely no sense, and if anything would just be classed off as a social experiment without any real effects. When I was Headrev'd, I was listening to AOOC and decided to state that I had an idea, and was going to do it. My other headrev was *Fine with me doing this.* It was just the Loyalist and Traitors that were upset. Not to mention SDT's attempt to completely nullify the conflict by posting an announcement where he immediately said an assistant was on the bridge of the Odin and posted an announcement. CampinKiller Beyond your current post, no. I did not go full lethal. I attempted to incapacitate the HOP with a telebaton, Dermal Armor Patch was too OP. I was quickly incapacitated by stuns. If anything, yell at Faysal for the immediate attempt at lethals, as he barged in with the Captain's laser pistol. I don't see how this is a problem OOCly. All in all, you may not agree with what I did. However, it caused conflict for the round and ended with a lot of people enjoying said round. Your complaint against me feels biased, as I've had issues with you in the past as captain.
16. My personal belief is that Sukhoi can be a little off the hinges sometimes, especially as myself playing Command and them making AIs without filing paperwork. However, beyond this, I believe that a custom item that's just another folder-copy wouldn't be overly hard to accomplish. I'm giving this a +1 as Sukhoi is a great person to RP with, and RPs both their flaws and good bits well. I'd like to see them use it as a conversation starter, "Oh hey, look what I made its in my notebook!" Something like that, yknow?
17. BYOND Key:DasFox Character Names: https://gyazo.com/354c231d519734da981168bce56a6078 Species you are applying to play:Skrell What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Blue (Kinda. Like pale blue?) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?:Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I wanted to play a race that communicated in a much different fashion to the other races, it provides me with an opportunity try out a new form of roleplay. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human:Skrell are a culturally diverse race of people than humans, due to their dietary restrictions and the language barrier. Ceti Basic is much different than their mother tongue, Character Name: Qebro Qreshi-Ablak Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphsQebro was hatched as a lone survivor of his brood. His parents were overjoyed, and was showered with their affection and gifts. With much prompting from his parents, he began studying different sciences and arts, his favourite of which was music. Music to him could demonstrate emotion in much the same way nral’malic could. He began to experiment with different instruments from different races and cultures, he wanted nothing more than to find the perfect blend. However, his parents ensured that he would be able to get ahead in life, and made sure that he studied science so that he’d be able to compete with other Skrell on an intergalactic level. He went to a local university and graduated with a PhD but never stopped working on his music. Life on Jargon was good, but Qebro wanted to go out into the stars, and not only witness new variations of music first-hand, but also share his own creations with others. Of course he wouldn’t be able to get onto a ship with just his love for music, so he put himself out there as a scientist, eventually being picked for employment by NanoTransen. He was to be sent to the NSS Aurora, there, he would be able to make more than enough money to get by whilst he continued working on his music, it also gave him access to a huge range of species with whom he could discuss music and continue to strive towards finishing his magnum opus. What do you like about this character? I really like the idea of a skrell who is highly interested in music but realises that as a job it won’t carry them out into the reaches of space, so instead they take it upon themselves to learn a skill that will help them achieve their main goal. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I’d rate myself at an 8/10 Notes: Took some time to read through lores, think my character fits well.
18. I personally enjoy his Unathi security officer, and I would like to see him within the Head of Staff areas. I know I haven't had my whitelist for a while, however I truly enjoy my rounds where one of his characters are serving under my Head of Security. +1 from me, solid RP, level headed person both IC and OOC, and altogether fun to be around.
19. I'd just like to say this is to one of my characters. If it becomes a major issue, I assume I'd be talked to about it. All of my characters react differently to situations, not to mention I simply just don't like cult. I keep it disabled for a reason. Being a construct isn't something I want to do, sorry to break it to you. Beyond this, I'm not going to continue an argument over it on this thread. If you'd like to talk about it PM me on discord or write up a thread somewhere about it. I'd be happy to continue it there.
20. Quoting movies from modern day is *extremely* common. I really don't see how that's memeing, but alright. Secondly, I was not alone during the raid on cargo in that cult round. The officers I brought with me besides one, were already cultists. So it didn't do much good anyway. Also yes, I may play carelessly. However, I asked the chaplain because they were screaming at me in tongue after using a paper to stun me, drawing in blood in strange runes, and talking about sacrificing us. I mean, to be fair, that's a pretty fair assumption I think.
21. The issue we had is not how you handled the situation. That was IC. The issue we *Do* have with you is exactly how you play your captain, Xander, you stick your nose in absolutely every and anything that you want, which, as captain is normally fine. However, acting as a Security Officer to add a charge to my card, chasing me with an E-gun as I was heading to cryo to do so, and saying repeatedly over communications that I was guilty of sedition is the root issue. First and foremost, baseless argument. Sure, if you say so. You have a history of your captain being both power-trippy and having a god-complex. You always put yourself above the others, to the point where you even go to yourself to tell your heads to 'remember their place', as if they are 100% your underlings and not people who have opinions. Secondly, I did contact the CE, before they went to cryo, and knowing you were screaming at the HOS I contacted CCIA in a hope to clarify it for both me, and the rest of the station. You presumptuous idea that I was attempting to tell them you were rogue and that you needed to be fired was your own fault, and in no way was my intention or what happened. Thirdly, Miscommunication is *not* what happened. You strictly stated on the command channel twice in a row that I was guilty of sedition, in which I went to the Detective above. This IPC was, somehow, when I turned myself into him, aiding and abetting me while I was in his custody? That's funny as well. Fourthly, This would normally be charged ICly in security, and not have the captain step up and try to play security officer, telling them you'll take their headset away. If they don't take your warnings, you detain them for abuse of communications. You, as captain, don't simply call them to your office and take their headset, as you intended to do. Finally, finishing my part of this argument, I don't care if you're banned from captain or not. At the time I said it as I was upset. You just need to learn how to RP your characters in power without feeling as if you're superior to absolutely everyone. And I'm 100% sure others will agree with me on this point. I am not the only person you've pissed off by doing this, Xander, and I know I won't be the last.
22. Server Moderator Application Basic Information Byond Account: DasFox Character Name(s): https://gyazo.com/075d880f26be3f725f272d56e9e9c0e8 (Gyazo of it) AI Name(s): Sabbon Preferred means of contact: Discord/Phone Age: 42 Timezone: EST When are you on Aurora?: Usually afternoons, occasionally I'm on at deadhour just messing around. Experience How long have you played SS13?: 6 years, give or take a few months here and there. How long have you played on Aurora: Over a month now, and I played it a bit a *while* back. How much do you know about SS13 (Baystation build) game mechanics?: I know most if not all of medical, as well as I'm decently OK at combat. However engineering and science mostly escape me. Do you have any experience moderating for an SS13 server?: SS13 servers no, however I have managerial experience IRL, as well as experience moderating communities over discord, some larger than others. Have you ever been banned, and if so, how long and why?:Yes, Permenantly on Bay for disrespecting a trial moderator when I was severely upset, based on a captain, who was not antag, randomly killing me and getting away with it. It was appealed, since the Headmin didn't like me in the first place. Personality Why do you play SS13?: I enjoy the game, and I really love ot RP. Why do you play on Aurora?: Aurora's a HRP server, which makes me enjoy it even more than when I enjoyed Bay, as it was pretty bland. What do moderators do?: Moderators are the OOC administration, dealing with Ahelps and trying to resolve problems that the players ask about. What does it mean to be a moderator for our server?: To be respectful to the playerbase, assist them, and above all to listen to their complaints. Why do you want to be a moderator?: I have a want to help the server, and I can do that by being around (sometimes) when staff usually aren't around. I also like to help people, so it seems like a good fit. What qualities do you possess that would make you a good moderator?:When I think of something like work, I tend to easily respond to things. Not to mention I have 16 years management IRL with my current hospital as I run the shift changes, manage a community for a youtuber, and have a lot of experience moderating on other MP indie-games/servers. How well do you handle stress, anger, or insults?:When I'm trying to relax I can fly off the handle a little too easily, starting to get aggressive. I'm a slightly hostile person, and I understand that's a put-off most of the time, however as I stated, when I work I tend to do a lot better with it, as I keep a calmer state of mind. Anything Else You Want to Add: I understand if the admin team who decides this can't support my being a moderator, however I think given the chance I could do well. Or I'll fail and go down in flames. Still. ((If you need more information, let me know.))
23. I like my experiences with his Captain, Jarod. Overall a good RPer, makes a lot of funny references that aren't too memey. The McCarthy is also a fun one, though not my cup of tea sometimes. Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing them as a lizard. Nothing too wrong with that. +1 from me.
24. Superiorform Regarding your fear-RP bit, a surgeon who sees blood and bodies for a living isn't that likely to freak out about a body. As well as I don't make her fight antags, or anything of the sort. Fear-RPing a decapitated body just seems a little redundant to me. Beyond this, the valid-hunting issue I believe was a little harsh, however it was dealt with and it hasn't happened again. Thank you for the feedback. DatBerry Metagaming I will admit to. I am slightly guilty of that, but I've taken steps to prevent it now, as I'm doing my best not to play departments where my friend is all the time. Beyond this, the LOOC aggression has changed a bit, in my honest opinion. I personally believe I've gotten better at it, and have taken to disabling LOOC in times where I don't think I could watch my tongue if I wanted to. Also regarding the Regulations, I've taken time to look and memorize the majority of the ones that pertain to me. IE, what to do and not do to bodies on evidence, what to do and don't do on code red, so on. Most of these have also been gotten through experience, so I believe I'm more suited for it. Thank you for the feedback.
25. I didn't have a problem with the goofing around. Playing EOR music, spawning memes, BSTs throwing cats across the room. Nifty, its funny, the mech was also funny, looking back, but at the time it was pretty annoying. But yeah, I was fine with it after the post was made, and I'd forgotten about it until you brought up staff complaints in PMs.
