Still some pixels beneath the jacket itemstate. But I do like the premise, so +1 from me. Punk-Skrell. Neat.

Player Complaint - Butterrobber202, DasFox, Bauser
TheSleepyCatmom replied to BurgerBB's topic in Complaints Boards Archive
If me being overly sarcastic is considered 'hostile', I'm not sure what you consider outright abusive. I even clarified a few times, even after the fact when it all died down, that I was being overly sarcastic. And yes, I realize that text doesn't convey this well, as people stated. In the end, my intent wasn't malicious. If I had legitimate problem with burger, I'd make a complaint here. As he did. Regardless of prior action, understandably as I've been relatively aggressive in the past, I wasn't spoken to about anything this round. If you ahelped it and it was deemed problematic, why wasn't it taken care of in round outside of a 'chill out'? It was the beginning of a round, there was time for someone to talk to me. Sure, me saying 'noone cares' was honest. You pulled the 'I'm staff, I have X things going on' card to dissuade a sarcastic remark. About leaving the server, no less. I thought that, at the very least, would've been obvious that it was made in jest. If I went around telling people to leave the server honestly, I wouldn't still be here. If I wanted to be 'aggressive' to you, I'd do so one on one with legitimate complaints and not simply attack you in OOC, with several other people. I'm not a savage, regardless of what people may think. I can't speak for Bauser, or Butterrober. I don't intend to either, my actions were mine. And you're free to talk to me about it if you want, via commenting here or PMing me on discord. I'm sure half of discord can point you to my key. At any rate, I've said my piece. -
Colonial Marines & Knuckles part 3.

What the hell even. -
...I dig it. Kinda like imprinting implants, but less of a brainwasher. I can see uses for it, and wouldn't mind it being used on me if it works exactly as stated. +1

Baycode, ported this, and uses Baycode. So like, you wot? By ported, as you can't really port directly to and from different codebases (/tg/, /Bay/, whatever), you kind of repurpose it to suit what you wanted it to accomplish with the framework they had if I recall right. So yeah, Bay 'Ported' /tg/ circuits and pieces. So did Polaris.
-
My issue is if it was in /every/ head of staff's office, as was also requested by it. Not specifically the Captain's.
-
That's part of the issue in and of itself. Offices are separated with darkenable windows so antags /can/ do these types of things. The second a Vampire does something? Buttonpress. Ling stings you? Buttonpress. Tator draws a gun? Buttonpress. It's just a way to completely destroy an antag, already taking time to coerce you into a meeting, and ruin their gimmick.

Makes sense then. Still, you don't threaten death over bloody trespass. -

Being an abrasive person isn't a way to handle hate. Trust me, I know from experience. All you're doing is irritating people and making yourself seem like a total tool. Rule Lawyering wasn't the issue here. Law Lawyering is. Threatening to straight-up murder a crewmember by venting a room is not something you should be doing as an Artificial Intelligence, criminal or not. Criminals are still members of the crew, and unless ordered by Security (who has the authority to wish anyone detained if they're dangerous), you're not at liberty to ignore a crewmember's orders unless they're in a highly restricted area. As far as I'm aware, he was an Engineer this round anyway, being in Atmospherics isn't illegal as an Engineer. Regardless of his access. In the end, you've simply a history of, what I like to call, 'Irritable behavior'. Both ICly, and OOCly. Now, don't get me wrong. I have the same history and, in fact, it can be stated mine is more severe than yours. But I truly think you need to take a step back and look at this from another perspective. You need to see it from our side, where all we know is he has an ID. This is an Amber-Level infraction. He didn't steal guns, he didn't kill anyone. This is what, a ten minute brig time? You spent more than this locking him into areas anyway. React appropriately to situations, and don't threaten to murder people because it's just a threat. You're not serving the crew, or protecting them if they think you're off your rocker and ready to murder people who're committing trespass. This is what it stemmed from. Not simply because 'we're haters'. This isn't Youtube or Vine, we gave you criticism. We're people who like to play a game, and what you did was react poorly in a game we all enjoy. This is what the complaint, in the end, is really about. Calling people salty over lodging a complaint is a terrible idea, by the way. -
Necroing three year old posts, tsk tsk tsk.

It's hard to prove if something was done while typing. If someone doesn't use hotkey mode it can't be proven at all, because they don't get a chat bubble if typing in the command bar. And if they did, that relies on eyewitness testimony to prove they were typing, which some people likely won't even remember if there was a speech bubble there or not. It's why these things need to be ahelped immediately instead of waiting an hour after the event where everyone forgets this minute detail. I, myself, got a /lot/ of RP out of this scenario. Including people attacking security. I play Ameline, your cute(JK) Dominian chef, who was on the verge of tears half the round in the middle of a panic attack due to believing she was /going to die from the people tasked to protect her/. Myself, and half of Cargo felt the same way, we just had different responses to the situation. Some took their panic out on Kiiv and Iok, some decided to go mining to clear their heads. Some decided to scream at people and flip out. It all depends on your character. Saying it didn't generate RP is entirely false. Prate is correct, it's entirely reasonable that within thirty seconds you start breaking these edicts left out by the AI, that people would call you on your shit and not want you to succeed over fear of dying. Not only would the Captain be the only one who knows about the Station Failsafe, you contradicted yourself about whether it existed or not a lot during the round, which simply made people not trust you. Sorry to say, I don't think Butter's at fault here at all.

Energy revolvers? Already a thing on Bay. XO/CO gets them. Energy Service Revolvers, packs slightly more punch than an E-gun (Smartgun.) Weapon case? Polaris does this for their detectives. Both are pretty feasible as far as I'm aware. Gives the same as what you said as far as I'm aware. Could also add E-Gun/Energy Revolver options to the crate and combine them both. Gives people a chance to play whatever gimmicky detective they like.

10/12 would be standard for a 7.62 semi-automatic civilian, at least from where I'm from.

BYOND Key: DasFox Character name: Ameline Hemory Item name: Dominian Culinary Dress Why is your character carrying said item to work? Ameline is a rather loyalist person, regardless of the situation she was a part of making her wish to leave Dominia. It makes sense that she'd still dress in a Dominian fashion, as she likely brought clothes with her. Why wear an uncomfortable Chef's uniform from the Aurora, when you can bring one you used before tailored to fit you with you for the same thing? Item function(s): It's just a dress, Chief. Item description: The latest in Dominian dresses, this piece of clothing is similar to those worn by chefs on the planet of Moroz. With a pleated skirt and detachable sleeves, it is on the less modest end of Morozi fashion. Item appearance: https://imgur.com/a/tH4NQnt (Have DMI, can also do better images later.) How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP? Well, Dominia's an interesting place and something I've taken a great liking towards recently after reading into it. Having a custom uniform normally breaks up the standard 'Just a Chef Jacket' uniforms that people look at when seeing a chef. My hope is that it'll bring a few comments here or there. That's all I can truly want with it, outside of something to bring a more fleshed out character to the scenes. Additional comments: Pegasus (Dominian Lore-Dude) approved and made! If I need to replace my prior custom items, I'm absolutely fine with doing that. I don't really play the other character, or security in general, any longer.

Bay's already done that. Stun takes less, Shock takes slightly more, Lethal takes double. Could just port it most likely.

I'm fairly sure Tajara cannot even *Join* the Solarian navy, as they'd need to be citizens to join an armed forces, and Tajaran cannot be Solarian citizens any longer I think. Also Sandvich123 there's... no mention of sol in there. Or Tajara. I'm not actually sure where you got that from. Edit: Why did I hit enter. Anyway, I like the Unathi a tad, it's interesting to me! But I don't think I've personally seen you before. That could be an issue with my timing, or maybe when you're on the server, I'm unsure. So you've got a hesitant +1 from me. -
Roles on-board the station are meant to have degrees and experience. As Vaurca don't have colleges, they're given an aptitude test for each of these subjects instead of reliance on their degree. And as it was aptly put by Bygone, a Vaurca has never failed their aptitude test. Which would prove their ability to keep up with people taught in this field via education. As he's not taught traditionally, how would his methods diverge from people who had a traditional education, was in essence my question.
-
I'm fairly certain you cannot start your Vaurca as anything but a Lab Assistant as any hive but the C'thur. But I have a few questions for you if you don't mind! How does Viez react to outside stimuli that Humanity itself gives? The various peoples on stations, including but not limited to their emotional function and how they work day to day? How does he react to Tajara, Unathi, and so on? Does he like them, is he disinterested? Does he hate them for being different? How would Viez react to knowing the Lii'dra were (and are) a very real threat to Tau Ceti at the current time? How would he react to the very real possibility that they could pop back up? Is he terrified by that, is he not worried due to the defense of the others of his hive in the system, so on? Beyond this, he wouldn't have an official schooling due to VR. This means that he'd have to do the test, and that he passed. What methods would he have that are interesting when it comes to his investigations? Any, at all? Would he have any niches that make him interesting, or just another assembly-line Vaurca following the Hive Queen's will? I think that's about all my questions for you, I'd love to see your answers!

This is absolutely memey and I love it. Tajaran Prestoff when?

The toxin doesn't make sense. Especially when they're just regular bees. You can be stung by at least a dozen bees and not need any treatment outside of maybe picking the stingers out of you. Bees give such a minuscule amount of a toxin that it shouldn't in any way attribute to literally instantly killing people unless these swarms are hundreds strong. Which, in the realistic side of things, I doubt (unless they're killer bees, which why would you breed them on a station, they're not honeybees and there's no point.). Zhan should be immune, sure. So should Vaurca, potentially Unathi due to their thicker hide of scales. IPCs shouldn't get stung at all, they're literally steel or other metals that can withstand extreme damages (Unless you're a silly Xeng-Hu.). Or, secondary option. We could change this thread to an apiarists outfit which makes Bees unable to sting you while wearing it at the cost of a small amount of movement speed. Just an idea.

[ACCEPTED] Aboshehab Vaurca Whitelist
TheSleepyCatmom replied to Faris's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
It's mostly because Germans uphold themselves to standards of the perfection of engineering if you think about it in a stereotypical way. So a German watchmaker would be, for example, 'This Watch is perfection, and I will have it no other way. If any piece is out of place, I will fix it. It won't be a spot, nothing but the best.' Which I would attribute to the K'lax. In fact, one of the Queens, (Queen of Corpses?) only cares for her brood's engineering accomplishments if they're sufficiently 'K'lax like'. But it is an interesting character, and I do like how they look at the C'thur. -

Nerf the Statue time to 1 minute
TheSleepyCatmom replied to Butterrobber202's topic in Completed Projects
Senpai Jackboot I've gotten Flesh to Stoned, and have had time to go make a sandwich, come back, and still been ignored as 'Just a random statue of an oddly lifelike person' during a round. It's pretty easy for people to pass it up without a second thought as you can't do anything whatsoever. It may seem like no time at first, but you try sitting there for six minutes with no interaction from anyone besides the casual looks and people walking off. It'll feel like a year. It's almost literally taking someone out of the round if a wizard wanted to be a cunt with it, without the ability to bring them back until the Wizard's distracted long enough for them to de-statue.
