Metabolism limiting based on chem type
TheSleepyCatmom replied to BurgerBB's topic in Completed Projects
Combining with Tricordrazine makes little sense in your argument anyway, you're making stacked meds not work together. Tricordrazine does all damage types, which means it won't stack with Dermaline OR Kelotane in terms of burn damage healing. Unless, of course, you're ONLY nerfing Keloderm, in which case why? You're only giving more reason to spam the use of cryocells along with medicating. It may just be my failure to understand here, but how in any way would a medication like Tricordrazine stack with Burn Treatment Medications when they both do the same thing, although Tricordrazine is minor? In fact, how would Cryo aid along with burn medications, as they both heal the same damage types, right? I just don't see the point. -
Some of these chemicals are hidden recipes, if I recall. Liquid Light, Liquid Fire, Unstable Black Matter, Universal Solvent, Undead Ichor, and Bottled Lightning are all chemicals. Edit: Or at ONE TIME were Chemicals.

I like Butter's Idea as well. Though I'd say it depends on the RIG, as some RIGs are just lightweight suits (IE EVA rig, Ninja RIG(Though exception for antagonists I suppose ), Stealth and Hacker-RIGs.) with added protection or mobility.

Metabolism limiting based on chem type

I agree, Schev raised a lot of points that I agree with, such as effect on antagonists and the like, as Conspiir said. Going 'Because the first sentence he said is something untrue to me I don't want to read it' is entirely unfair to him for taking the time to raise valid points. -
Yes, I realize. Which is giving antags an advantage without using gear, which isn't really cool from my perspective. My issue with it is moreso 'I as a non-antagonist am not able to do this, but without any further assistance I can do so as an antagonist.' It makes no sense to me. It's not like self-defense rules where you can freely kill as an antagonist, this is a mechanic that's giving a clear advantage to them without any TC cost (Unless, you're proposing to add a new item to the Traitor Menu to do this. In which case I rescind my statement)

*Why did I not know this was a thing before now?*
-
I don't see why antags in general would be immune to such a thing, that's a little idiotic imo. IE: Human grabs Vaurca, rips off mandibles without force gloves freely as an antagonist. Human does so to a Traitor Vaurca in the next round, gets hand bitten off. Where's muh continuity via mechanics? -- Anyway, this would be an interesting thing as a Unathi/G2 and I'd be all for it, tbqh. +1

Anything with metal fragments in it is likely to be conductive.

Ew, Bic. Get out. But uh. I've had this Tutto3 for the past freaking forever, and it's a mechanical pencil and lovely for drawing. I'm terrible but it's nice to have good tools, sometimes. I'm also a nerd and prefer fountain pens because I like how they feel when they write.

[Denied] Head of Staff - Veterangary
TheSleepyCatmom replied to VeteranGary's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
As far as I'm aware, you're supposed to use an already established character. May be wrong on that, but it wouldn't be impossible for someone to be able to be a Head of Staff. Someone who's played a lovely Warden as a character for a long time is surely able to become a HOS Amory. -

Your character doesn't fit the "Ten year experience in a security related field" I don't believe. If you took the full five year course, at 18 you'd have graduated at 23. At the current age of 30, you'd have had 7 years at maximum. Schooling does not count towards attendance in a field in real life, so I doubt it does in this case. Though this isn't really a major issue, what's changing a few years? My experience with Hujsak is very very positive as a security officer. And as a Warden, though I haven't played with him in a long time. I'd be happy to give my +1 to this! -
[Retracted] DasFox's CCIA Application
TheSleepyCatmom replied to TheSleepyCatmom's topic in Moderator Applications Archives
Honestly, I personally like to think I've move past my "I'm here for my enjoyment everyone else be damned," to "I like to make everyone around me enjoy their time here." I tend to not go for antagonist roles anymore, (Which as far as I'm aware and recall the vast majority of these warnings stemmed from activity as an antagonist (or captain, which I haven't played either.)) When I do get an antagonist, I tend to focus more on RP with those around me than I do with 'getting my valids and killing as a necessity' anymore. I also like to think I've mellowed out on my angst due to a different frame of mind when interacting with people. Sure I'll get upset sometimes, but it's not the end of the world now, y'know? While my reasoning of my assurances might not be what you were hoping to hear (or read in this case), I haven't done much like I would have before my break. I've got more of an appreciation for an actual HRP server, and don't really want to fuck it up to be quite honest. But as I brought to point a very small amount of, I have a rather abrasive personality at times. I can be rather dickish, and seem overly critical. Hopefully that won't affect too much. -

Ahahaahaha. My secret is out! -
I did a google, it's because the eraser is combustible and stuff. And makes dust. In low-gravity that's terrible. Edit: Gimme mechanical pencils in SS13 when pls

Another Guwan. Second one in the past week or so, huh. Anyway, I have a problem with the beginning of your story, though this might just be me. Your ENTIRE clan was murdered in a bloodbath? And as such your age would be indiscernible . To me this is just an excuse to get around making an interesting thing for your clan, which I don't see the issue for it's almost a little too bare on the wiki in my opinion about the culture. Though, that's the glory of it, you can keep your clan interesting as long as they follow the honor-systems of the Unathi. Beyond this, my personal opinion is that it's very cookie-cutter to be an Orphanage Unathi (though my opinion is a little nullified here as I made a damn Maraziite.). Perhaps if you like Guwans, make one who's done a large amount of things in spite of their clan and was banished from Moghes, turning to NanoTrasen for a way off the planet and a work environment. I don't know, just seems like you grasped the most recent app and went ' I'll also do this '. Please don't take this as an attack against you, I don't mean to criticize your character overly much. I do enjoy how your backstory was written, and I believe they'd be an interesting character ( If they weren't bloody pink ) to interact with. But as of right now I'm going to give it a -1, based on my interactions with your security officer (Shane Steel). It seems to me you like to RP a little over-the-top to the point of being an obnoxious presence. Good luck on the Application, there's my two cents!

Always go with a good pencil. For art, for writing, for all-around use. Sadly we can't use pencils in space because of graphite poisoning if we were writing while gravity's out. Or something. I don't recall the literal reasoning.

Add Faction/Home System blurb information in Character Setup

That's fair, but it's certainly an idea out there. I'd be happy with anything beyond just the Four word detail backstory, to be entirely honest. -
Add Faction/Home System blurb information in Character Setup
TheSleepyCatmom replied to ShameOnTurtles's topic in Archive
I +1 this, in fact Bay ported and edited a lovely 'Background' system that I think would be amazing for the server. It'll give say, an option. And then a Lore-blurb about it. It'll also limit what languages you can and cannot select based on your upbringing in certain systems/areas, what religions you can and cannot select (IE you can't be a human following Ma'ta'ke from your childhood or something without a whitelist for it.) For example, a human would have options such as "Earth, Mars, Biesel". Each one would have, for the homeworld, a lore-blurb about this planet. And a Tau Ceti Local wouldn't be able to learn Sol Common, whereas a Sol Local likely wouldn't have say. Freespeak, as they're not on the fringe or near it. (Unless they're from Mars, perhaps.) Factions, homeworlds, and so could also give an economic power statistic if you wanted to port the entire system, to allow players a more depth-like feeling about their bank accounts. For example, a fringe planet would be less economically powerful than Biesel itself. So their savings would be less, based on a percentile, than Biesel's. It gives a ton of options for growth of a character and gives more insight to new players without having to wiki-dive. It also just makes things a heck of a lot cooler, in my opinion! -
They also spawn (1-2 iirc) on the table directly outside of cryogenics. I'm pretty sure it's a guaranteed spawn.

[Retracted] DasFox's CCIA Application

Yep! I've gone through a few BYOND Keys, this key not being the only one I've used in that timeframe. This key was made last year to do new stuff after I returned to BYOND yet again and forgot my account information, which I tend to do a lot. I've gone through at least half-a-dozen accounts on BYOND since it's a free platform and my time often a year, maybe two at the most - then off to re-focus on my career or life at the time for the next so often and completely forget it exists. Hopefully that slightly clarifies that, not sure if it does or not. Beyond that I'll edit and fix my answers to a more acceptable standard. -
Beyond the fact you're asking for another reason to give heart-attacks to the crew when there's no chef on-station during low-pop, dead-pop, or just when noone wants to play Chef.

I very much don't want this to be a thing. However immersive it is, a reminder that we're still here to roleplay and not here to play a survival game. The more difficult we make the game for players who just want to focus on their characters and interactions (such as myself, for example), the more likely these players are to leave the server in search of another with a less complex mechanical side of things. I'm sure a lot of people would just take to keeping a needless, say, bucket or beaker on their person to refill their thirst every twenty minutes. How dehydrated are we going to be on a space-station with a perfected atmosphere (beyond Tajara) for all of it's inhabitants barring say, moisture in the air. Not very, it's a three hour shift, two hours on standard. There's not much to be said about it otherwise. If you want to be immersive, RP it. Don't force a mechanic that'd make little sense literally. My two cents. Edit: I should've probably stated that I disagreed with organic thirst mechanics, however a coolant for IPCs and the like sounds pretty cool. Though I think it should only be used in situations where they'd overheat. Sprinting too much, in a RIG/voidsuit. So they have a bit more of a 'grace period' that uses these things. And as such it wouldn't be required and wouldn't be out in public, but in EVA or Engineering or the like.

What's stopping you is being banned. It's very very taboo to just target limbs and instantly gib or chop them off as far as I'm aware. It's why slugs were removed from the armory. I also agree that instead of nerfing something that's *supposed* to be strong, you should tweak the thing that's inanely weak for bending bluespace even on a basic scale.
