1. It's mostly because Germans uphold themselves to standards of the perfection of engineering if you think about it in a stereotypical way. So a German watchmaker would be, for example, 'This Watch is perfection, and I will have it no other way. If any piece is out of place, I will fix it. It won't be a spot, nothing but the best.' Which I would attribute to the K'lax. In fact, one of the Queens, (Queen of Corpses?) only cares for her brood's engineering accomplishments if they're sufficiently 'K'lax like'. But it is an interesting character, and I do like how they look at the C'thur.
2. I like the answers, very straightforward. +1 from me!
3. Senpai Jackboot I've gotten Flesh to Stoned, and have had time to go make a sandwich, come back, and still been ignored as 'Just a random statue of an oddly lifelike person' during a round. It's pretty easy for people to pass it up without a second thought as you can't do anything whatsoever. It may seem like no time at first, but you try sitting there for six minutes with no interaction from anyone besides the casual looks and people walking off. It'll feel like a year. It's almost literally taking someone out of the round if a wizard wanted to be a cunt with it, without the ability to bring them back until the Wizard's distracted long enough for them to de-statue.
4. An Abo whitelist? I really like the story, and I have a few questions to sate my curiosity about the character before giving a rating. I don't really think it explains just how he started working for NanoTrasen itself. Sure, he's got the motivation to find work to his related field, but why NanoTrasen specifically? The Liminal Queen's brood is contractually obligated, in most cases, to work for Government *and* Corporate facilities. He could just as simply work at a Government facility as a NanoTrasen facility. What made him choose NT Over a Government complex? Why wouldn't he stay and aid in the construction of his home in the District over where he is now, in an NT Complex? It does mention the Scourge, which I like, but how would he feel going head to head with them? How would he react to this scenario, such as that's already happened aboard the NSS Aurora? Is he afraid of the possibility, is he not worried? Is he confident that it wouldn't happen again? Also, how exactly did he learn that the Real World of Tau Ceti wasn't like VR? What was his experience regarding it? Was there anything special, and nice information added, or was it just a simple 'We came to a place that wasn't what we expected.' Either's nice, I'm just curious! What position would you have them be in, if they were able to pick a position immediately? (Not including the avowal, of course.) And why would you pick that position specifically?
5. It's gauze, it's not Quik-Clot. I think it's a fair assumption that the bandages would get a bit of blood on them and it'd be visible.
6. And blood suddenly doesn't soak into a cloth that's on an open wound?
7. Tajara take up a large portion of one of the districts of Mendel. It was even dubbed unofficially as 'Little Adhomai'. It makes a bit of sense. It also doesn't give a full understanding, only very minimally. Besides, this was a request. People didn't request other languages, it's unfair to go 'Well here's one lets wait for six others before making it a thing if it's a neat idea.'
8. It does, yes. EDIT: Using the Zhan language also lets you know a little bit of Siik, since it's an offshoot.
9. You'll fall asleep in about ten-fifteen seconds from Chloral at the latest. It's about double that for Sopo as far as I'm aware, without the near-insta incapacitation.
10. It works by taking a random word of the sentence, and making it Tau Ceti, and doing another random work, and making it Siik. As far as I'm aware, anyway. I've used it and seen it used, and that's how it seems to be.
11. That's fair, yeah. The progress bar would be cool, in the end. Make it interesting, and gives nonlethal CQC stuff for non-sec (Even if it does require a lot of other steps). It'd be good for people with Antag Force Gloves too.
12. I do actually really like this idea. But maybe we should make it a sleep-choke instead of a disarm-while-choking. Like if you use help/disarm or something (anything besides harm) to tighten the grab to the throat, you'll do a sleep-choke instead of actually choking. That'd be interesting, I think. It'd take longer, but wouldn't do much (if any) oxygen damage.
13. I doubly aggressive bump. Maybe it'll cause less 'lets blow APCs for the warzone effect'.
14. Going through the comments here, I can see the points raised. While, some of which I may not agree with entirely (Like the assumption that my being casual is my entire outlook on the situation, and that this was reflecting my determination or want to do something.), I can understand the concerns and in the future hope to remedy them. However, for the time being, I'll be taking this feedback to heart. There's certainly things I can improve on both in my play, and in my personality that don't mesh well with a lot of people. Simply because my outlook changed, doesn't mean I can immediately improve everything I do. I don't claim to be perfect now, nor would I want to be. I'm simply human. Beyond this, I do appreciate the feedback from all parties, and I don't take it as a personal assault towards me or my character if you were worried about that Elliot . After all, the time I've been back (and made mistakes in), is hardly enough to prove much at all. And while some of you stating my change was for the worse, which did give me a moment to rethink, I like to believe it's more of a learning experience than anything else. I'm definitely overly casual, sarcastic, and at many points in time abrasive. As a side-note, I didn't apply for 'power' over the playerbase in any way. If this was the assumption that was gotten from my responses, I apologize, as this was in no way my intent. While I understand things CCIA are given while interacting with crew round-to-round, (As stated both the CCIAA position and the ERT Commander position.) it was never my intention to shoot for this things as a way to move myself above everyone else. Or, even then, abuse it to get a power trip of some kind. While, yes, my behavior regarding how I speak has caused issues in the past, I didn't at all see it as problematic during an interview. In my opinion, if I were attempting to be overly formal during it, it'd make me seem like someone trying too hard. I don't mean this in a negative way, I simply mean it as I wasn't attempting to appear as the perfect candidate. I'm not, and I don't believe I ever would be. But I don't disagree that it may have come off the wrong way, which was something I didn't think about at the time. At any rate, to wrap this all up, I did read the feedback given, and I was taking the time to collect my thoughts in such a way to respond before posting, so my apologies for the delays. I see the points and concerns raised, and will try to at least, attempt, to remedy the problematic parts. Hopefully in the future, as Elliot stated, I'd be in a more centered position to be able to do this. Until then, however, I think it'd be a good idea to close this regardless if the feedback was positive or not. It's been a learning experience, and one I'm glad I had.
15. I mentioned in my interview I disagreed with how things were policed, and I'm simply afraid this was one of those times. While I do think a week's a little severe, I won't argue the matter, and I understand if it deems me unfit for the position. However, without going into much further detail about the entire thing, as I stated before this isn't the place for it, I'll simply state that I did have a history of these actions before, and it's an understandable punishment. Furthermore, while I hope the application isn't closed due it it, I understand the reasoning if it is. As Paradox said, and as I agreed with earlier, questioning my behavior is part of the process. I wouldn't expect this not to have repercussions, as I wouldn't expect people to simply skim over it and it not matter. I learned from the matter that my Modus Operandi regarding something was wrong, and it was changed. All I can really ask for from the experience, in the end.
16. Well I like your answers! Most of them. But I don't quite think your test results would get swapped around so easily. You've got a tentative +1 from me. We'll see how people react to your character.
17. your app name should usually go along the lines of '(CKEY) (Species) Application' as far as I remember. Besides this, I think it's... interesting... how you chose to write your character, but I don't think it I enjoy the thought of them getting onto the station. Vaurca are required to do tests to match the proficiency of others in their field, in which no Vaurca has ever failed. In fact I'm pretty sure each Vaurca has passed it with flying colors. But I have a few questions for you. How would the recent events with the Liidra affect your character? Do they know about them at all, have they been informed? Do they know what's happened to this station regarding the Liidra? How would they interact with the other Hives? Would they be open, or condescending? Would they see themselves as superior to some, inferior to others, so on. If this character is an architect, did you intend to put them in Engineering? While Engineering would be fine for an Architect on a planet, it's likely not the same thing due to the separate qualifications needed. Engineers in SS13 are hands on, Architects are draw-on-paper. How, specifically, do you plan to RP this character as negatively knowledgeable? Intelligence doesn't mean they can simply pick up how to build a wall instantaneously. Or seal a breach, or run atmospherics. Or, set the engine (as I've seen people learn to do at the snap of a finger.) And, of course, how would you say your character scored on the tests given? ((Also Vaurca are more akin to ants than they are Bees... are you sure you read the lorepage in it's entirety?))
18. TFW Abo steals my post almost word for word while I'm typing it. Feelsbadman.
19. Yes, and these two events were the main issues. Which, were the only ones being addressed via your original complaint.
20. +1 much rawr give plz wondr who will get joke
21. Bauser, you can use wirecutters on a poster to get it back.
22. I lowered my aim at the time, simply giving up on the ahelp and continuing the round as to not keep everyone waiting for a while. While I didn't agree with a no interaction (Yes, no interaction at all) dominate on me, I went along with it. I'd let them go, they weren't being charged with anything, and they willingly to that point complied. They didn't question the other trooper's request whatsoever, if they did I'd have stepped in. We weren't arresting them, simply securing them as I'd stated we'd do at the start of our arrival. (I believe I stated we'd fire on them, thinking back, but that didn't seem quite fair anyway.) I was operating on the assumption that a dominate works until the command is complete. As I'd let them go then, I presumed the dominate was complete. End of command, I've seen security do this to vampires. A dominated officer/warden lets someone go due to a dominate, they don't argue at all when they're immediately re-detained. But moving from this point, I originally had intended to have all of security in cuffs due to Command stating they were all guilty when we arrived. I didn't see it as problematic, even if they were innocent, to temporarily detain them until moved to the Odin where it's more than just me, a trooper, and an Engineer who nearly broke his legs in an elevator. If my information there is wrong, I'm truly sorry. If it's warning or ban-worthy I won't argue it, I simply didn't realize it was so problematic at the time due to the situation. So while if I could go back and react differently I would, I'm unable to. Beyond this, the complaint itself wasn't entirely about this, and I'd also like your view on the other half of the complaint Garnascus , which was my reaction to the Research Director.
23. Edit: I'm an idiot he said this I just can't read. Anyway +1, this Skrell eats all my food as a Chef. Do you have anything thatsh not meat and dough?
24. I don't ever necessarily get along with Burger. I don't necessarily enjoy what they code in some cases. But that doesn't mean they're not a competent coder, or someone I extremely dislike. I don't really have an issue with him being a Developer, so long as it doesn't simply allow them to pass things into the game without a moderated portion somewhere to double check it. Which, I think that's the case with Github that it's all checked before implementation anyway, so I'm all for it.
