  1. I can't remember the last malf round I've enjoyed. I'm fine with it being removed.
  2. >tfw akhanzi doesn't like si'akh Disgusting. Jokes aside, these are solid responses. +1, praise Si'akh
  3. I've had some solid interactions with Herp over multiple characters, and I trust that they'd be able to make some good 'Nathi. I'll ask some questions, though. What is their opinion on the other religions on Moghes? Sk'akh, Si'akh, Aut'akh, and the Tribunal if you count them. How "traditional" of an unathi will he be? I see the statement that he holds true to Unathi ideals, I'm just wondering. What job will he have?
  4. I see no issue with Detective to Forensics or Forensics to Detective; they're both investigative roles, and I don't really have a problem with Warden to Officer.
  5. Big fan of all the relics, especially the Si'akh one. Hopefully, this gets added.
  6. This is a really quite interesting backstory, and I've had enough experiences with Brutish to know that he's a wonderful roleplayer. How old are there? Does it seek its freedom? How "sapient" do you plan on making it? I.E. how human will it seem?
  7. I've had some good experiences with Uaine, and know them to be a good roleplayer. I found the backstory interesting, as well. How old is Krazak? I assume that Krazak is no longer religious? What is his opinion of the Hegemony?
  8. Good character background, just want to ask some questions. What job are they going to be in? What is their opinion of the other hives? What vaurca religion do they follow?
  9. He wants to be a Chaplain - specifically, a Priest. Becoming a psychiatrist is a maybe, but I'm leaning towards "no" for the time being. He has only vague memories of his clan, due to being only 4 years old before it was wiped out. In any case, he was born to a peasant family, and holds no nostalgia for it. While he knows that the debt will take years to clear if not more, he is somewhat proud of his upbringing, seeing it as the thing that made him the Unathi he is today. He does hold a slight interest in knowing what his clan was before the Exchange, though he believes that he has no chance of finding anything.
  10. Obviously, I will scream loudly over the radio to come to the chapel in bold letters. Jokes aside, I will try and create pamphlets to give out, and make use of the (rarely) used entertainment channel. I also plan to try and get people interested in person - I find that people are a lot more interested in something when approached that way.
  11. Th'akh is sort of the "baseline" for Unathi religions, with Sk'akh (Moroz Holy Tribunal being lumped in with Sk'akh), Si'akh, and Aut'akh religions all being variants or splitoffs of Th'akh. Generally speaking, all of these religions frown upon synthetics, mechanical beings, and prosthetics as being "soulless," ignoring the Aut'akh. There is a heavy emphasis on the soul in all these various religions - for example, Th'akh followers believe that the souls of the dead reside in the "spirit world" after their vessels die, while Sk'akh, MHT, and Si'akh believe that the souls of those who die become a part of the Great Spirit (or the Goddess for Unathi who are a part of the Tribunal.) Moghes-native religions all frown on or cannot have non-traditional relationships, and believe that a soul can be born in a body of a different gender. The Aut'akh are similar to the other Unathi religions (most closely resembling Sk'akh) in that they believe in a Great Spirit, but are the only Unathi religion to embrace prosthetics - with the other ones disproving of or being of mixed opinion on them. They believe that prosthetic limbs help "concentrate the soul" by freeing up tasks, and are trans-unathi-ist(?) in nature. Arksazi hates the Aut'akh, seeing them as abominations who traded their soul for power, and sees followers of Si'akh as a bunch of zealous doomsday cultists. He's neutral on the Th'akh, and believes that the Tribunal is a perverted version of Sk'akh established and followed by pirates and bandits. He wishes to join the Maraziite Order and enforce the laws of the Great Spirit later in life, but also wishes to pay off his debt to the Gukuzan Guild. However, he is aware that Tau Ceti pays better than the lands of the Hegemony, and wishes to carve out a life for himself in Biesel. Arksazi attempts to be a good person, caring strongly about duty and obedience due to his upbringing. He can be described as having a stick up his ass because of it.
  12. BYOND Key: Wigglesworth Jones Character Names: Most recent are: David, Acheron, Sinclair Khaing, Yevgeniy Koshelev, Zinoviy Shchepkin, Omari Etienam, Vincent Gallardi Species you are applying to play: Unathi What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Green Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I really enjoyed Unathi lore, and was encouraged to make an unathi whitelist. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Unathi have a large focus on honor, and are much more conservative than humans. A large portion of Moghes is a radioactive wasteland, after the destructive Contact War between the Izweski Hegemony and "Traditionalist Coalition." Unathi are reptilian, cold-blooded, generally larger than humans, and politics-wise, live in a feudal society. Character Name: Arksazi Gukuzan Please provide a short backstory for this character: Arksazi was born in Moghes right before the start of the Contact War to a peasant family, and was 4 years old when the Atomic Exchange that orphaned many Unathi took place, with his own parents being killed due in the weeks following it. Eventually found and taken in by the Gukuzan clan, Arksazi quickly took a liking to Sk'akh teachings, and used the priest in charge of the orphanage as a role model. Although he was unable to be adopted (likely due to the Gukuzan guild's exorbitant debts placed on orphans), due to his aspirations to be a Sk'akh priest the Church provided him with the funds for a Master's Degree in Sacred Theology. After recieving his degree and becoming ordained as a priest in the Sk'akh Church, Arksazi finally caved to pressure from the Gukuzan guild and accepted a contract from NanoTrasen, seeing it as a way to spread the word of Sk'akh outside of Hegemony space. What do you like about this character? Priests are fun, and I find the way that orphanages work for Unathi to be really quite interesting, what with the debts and all. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Something something 8 out of 10, something something still room to improve. Actual answer is roughly the same. I think I'm an okay roleplayer, but wouldn't consider myself the best or really high-tier. Notes: I am not good at making long backstories, so feel free to ask questions.
  13. Let's go into a play by play. Arrive on station. Get set up. Go to bar. Bar is closed. Head to cargo. Ask two cargo techs if they're PRA citizens. They say no. I ask if they're affiliated with the ALA in a rude way. They get angry. They get into a mech and throw me out of cargo using a gravitational catapult. I say over command radio that I'm getting attacked by terrorists in cargo. Yahir tries to flee. Technician Ssarzi grapples with them. Because A) I was just thrown around with a gravitational catapult and B) the consular I was playing liked Ssarzi. I hop the counter and grab Yahir. Upon getting slashed and beaten a few times, I pull the sidearm, fire a few times. I aimed mouth to take drags from my cigar, which resulted in headshots. The pistol the consular gets is 9mm, and does around 15 damage per shot. Aiming head does no additional damage. I get beaten to hell because the pistol does little in terms of damage. Yahir gets in the mech and raises hydraulic grip. I hop over the table to not get crushed. Detective and Security arrives. I avoid the charging mech as best I can until I am too slow, and get crushed in it. I go to medical. My lungs are burst. I leave medical. I write up a fax complaining about my treatment, ask for a guard because there are "two ALA terrorists in cargo who attacked me." I get questioned. Mid-questioning I hear over command radio that the HOS is going to send a fax. I complain and say that I haven't even been properly interviewed yet. The HoS says they've "had enough information to make a decision." I did not see anybody but Yahir and the other CT leaving the brig. Interview ends. Two soldiers and a PRA representative arrive. I talk to the captain, played by @Brutishcrab51. Rep, captain, and I all talk about the situation. It gets explained. Captain says that the two tajarans were charged and that while I shot them while they were basically unarmed, I am not going to be charged. This is because it was explained as basically-self-defense, though I did get myself into that situation. That was acknowledged in the meeting. I leave on the consular ship. @Bear can confirm what happened. It was all IC. The "multiple attempts to ask questions" were asked when I was in surgery. Security did not arrive until the very end of the fight. Keep in mind that the Adhomai Liberation Army is, to many tajarans, a terrorist group who bomb civilians. The consular I was playing quite obviously does not like them, and when checking records earlier in the shift noticed that Yahir was in fact a "former ALA militant," as stated in his records. Coupled with the fact that he was thrown around with a gravitational catapult just seconds before the fight started, it is reasonable in my opinion to want to get revenge of sorts. As well, the pulling of the sidearm was only after being put into the red.
  14. Going to give them a -1 due to poor communication skills and general bad performance. While they're a fine officer, I do not believe they are suited to command. On round b4n-aLCQ, they appeared to focus only on their security department and were, quite honestly, not the best at talking over command radio. Part of being a Head of Staff involves communicating with other heads (and a representative, if there is one,) which they haven't shown from my experiences with Roche. Additionally, they made a decision to arrest the consular while he was being interviewed, claiming that they received enough information to arrest them. This was despite the fact that they only questioned the people the consular was in conflict with. As stated above, they do not seem to be capable in coordinating a team yet. -1 sorry if it doesn't make sense I wrote this at 12 am
  15. +1. RIP Balaclava (forever in our hearts,) but this version fits Easter's character and has a toggle that wouldn't conceal the face. The sprite is also really good.
  16. Yevgeniy is 24 years old, and will be working as a bartender on the station. He's after a degree in Culinary Arts to assist with his field, though a degree isn't exactly necessary to be a bartender. He sees the war is "righteous," so to speak, and seeing as he's a patriot, he believes that the other two factions are a bunch of radical terrorists who commit war crimes on the daily and counter-revolutionaries who seek to undo the revolution that broke the chains of Tajarans. He believes that with an Adhomai unified under PRA rule, the Tajaran peoples will be ultimately better off. Sorry for the short reply, I'll add more tomorrow if need be.
  17. Fair criticisms. I often have issues with backstory when making these applications, and it was very barebones. He's of the Hharar breed, for one. Probably should've specified that in the app. Yevgeniy is a devout S'rand'marr worshipper, and is superstitious enough to stay inside during Shi-rra Arr’Kahata. He has reported Raskariim groups to the authorities on multiple occasions (most commonly "Door and Key" cults,) and holds a distrust if not fear of Raskariim born from a mixture of their anti-establishment beliefs and the Parivara's hatred for them. Although it was difficult for him to visit after the start of the war, Yevgeniy has made a pilgrimage to Sana Sahira before, and hopes to do so in the future.
  18. BYOND Key: Wigglesworth Jones Character Names: Going to stick with my most recent characters: Sinclair Khaing, Omari Etienam, Geneva Lerato, Valeska Caladius, Vincent Gallardi Species you are applying to play: Tajara What color do you plan on making your first alien character: Taupe (72, 60, 50) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: Tajaran lore is really quite developed, and has a lot of chances for interesting or unique characters. I also had a character concept for a Tajaran, so I decided to apply. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: Tajarans have multiple subspecies due to selective breeding, and as a result there is a racial caste system in play, most obvious with discrimination against the Zhan. Tajarans are technologically underdeveloped compared to humanity, and have a retrofuturistic kind of 'aesthetic' - using bolt action rifles along with laser guns. This culture and technology clash are an interesting part of Tajaran lore. Tajarans also are discriminated against (beingly mainly used for labor in the case of Zhan,) and are mostly confined to gang-filled slums outside of Adhomai. And, of course, the civil war on Adhomai itself is an important part of Tajarans. Character Name: Yevgeniy Koshelev Please provide a short backstory for this character Yevgeniy Koshelev was born in the capital city of Nal'tor to a family of devout Hadiists, and was raised to be one as well. Although sheltered from many of the horrors of the civil war, Yevegeniy, wanting to serve his country, instead decided to use his talents in the field of observation to act as an informant for the People's Strategic Intelligence Service. He routinely reported suspicious behavior or actions deemed counter-revolutionary to the secret police, using his job as a barback to listen in on conversations. Later being asked to work in the field of "Defense with enemy-connections and for the immediate processing of persons suspected of counter-revolutionary actions," he traveled outside of PRA territory to Biesel, in order to attend an university. After applying for a job with NanoTrasen (as they were one of the better-paying companies that hired Tajarans,) he planned to continue his work as a loyal patriot to the People's Republic, and get a degree while he's at it. What do you like about this character? He's a proper PRA goon, and loyal to his home country. I fully expect conflicts with other Tajarans, because he's an informant and also a bastard. How would you rate your role-playing ability? 8/10. I think I'm okay at roleplaying, but have room to improve as usual. Notes: He serrrves the People's Rrrrrepublic.
  19. I talk to Soultheif on a fairly regular basis over Discord, and I've had interactions with quite a lot of his characters, all of which were positive from the top of my head. Having seen his performance as Captain Quintin Copperfield over a couple of rounds, I can confidently give my GAMER + 1
  20. The cultists got "exposed" 15 minutes in because they kidnapped a guy on cameras. It seems like the cultists rushed to summon, as they converted the majority of security by abusing the (stupidly overpowered) stun talisman and pulling them onto conversion runes. That's shitty to do, it removes the majority of conflict and allows for a steamroll. Also, from my POV, gunning for conversions is ass, especially when done in this kind of manner.
  21. I was the HoS this round, which was why I was pinged. Although I had a power outage and was admin-cryo'd later on, I'll describe what I saw. I join as Sinclair Khaing, Head of Security. Five minutes in, I hear that @Carver's officer is going to meet the psych in the library. I go "k" and don't pay too much attention to it, before the AI informs me that they're on the ground, I send people over to investigate, namely Alamuddin and Francois. This is where I assume they got converted. The two people I assumed were responsible get taken in, and they all have the same story about seeing a guy in maintenance. Hm. The AI tells me that this is wrong, and the FT who was on cameras confirmed what the AI said. I trust the AI's word over the guy who has a bank robbery in his records, and decide to charge him and Derrick Mens (the other person who was at the scene.) I head to my office and the AI tells me that they picked up a PDA message from Alamuddin saying that I need to be taken out first. Hm. I tell Schwann's officer, Coetzee, to arrest Alamuddin. She instead gets her hand cut off. I walk over to processing to where a person is missing, and then my power goes out. Joy. Wasn't any attempt at a "gimmick" or any RP at all from what I saw, just rapid conversion of Security.
