Frightened shreiking

Don't quote me on that. Still need DMIs.

I can dig it, as lomg as it gets ultrabalanced by admemes. I have no clue what unintended prospects may come from having three crazy neenjers on the station, but hey, multiple antags with differing mechanics each? Either setting eachother up, or working towards a common goal? No singular ninja that just steals ian and dissapears? Not giving a +/-1 yet. Dunno how the admemes will implement it.

1, it's an attempt at making one, without knowing the inner workings (they just knew it existed), that was eventually deemed useless. 2, he brings it because it is a part of his r&d heritage. It's akin to a keepsake, that he was tested alongside, and it was specifically designed to interface with Aegis's programming, thus making it literally useless to anyone else. Thus, there's no reason to do anything but put Aegis in more debt by giving it to him, so they can leach money off of an investment even if it failed. 3, of course it's weird. No one pays much attention to things that aren't weird. It's meant to be something not comparable to a customized pen in a PDA. It's something that people will see and at least question.

I am planning to make custom stuff for both the G2s, Xions, and probably those baseline tv-heads or whatever they are called. I've already got most of it done.

BYOND Key: Itanimulli Character name: Sovereign Aegis Item name: Hephaestus Experimental Projector Why is your character carrying said item to work? This is a continuation of Aegis being a sort of walking proof-of-concept, as far as IPCs go. The initial idea was for the interns to create an item to rival the syndicate's chameleon suit, but unfortunately a lack of resources and time lead to it having two easily discernible modes, both easily distinguished by the rather large device on the back. It is only able to cycle between two modes, which is done automatically, much to any aspiring user's dismay. If Aegis puts it on, it stays activated. If he takes it off, it stays deactivated until he puts it back on. Item function(s): Turns on (goes into an activated state) when put on the specific character (stated above), turns off (goes into a deactivated state) when taken off or put on a different character. Basically, it's useless on anyone else, as they are not the individual it was specifically designed to interface with. It's for security work, so it'll provide the same.....stuff as the corporate security uniform. Item description: An odd device connected to a security uniform, apparently still in the prototype stage. Item appearance: Activated State Deactivated State How will you use this to better interact with crew and/or stimulate RP? This will give Aegis a reason to talk about his background, or the qualities the completed project would have achieved. He could air his grievances over the project seeming to be on permanent delay, and I'm sure other interactions between characters will lead to discussions that I cannot predict. I'm sure there will be quite a few people who approach him simply because he looks odd, either to ask about the prototype, or in order to try it on. There could be plenty of scenarios in which an antagonist attempts to get it, thinking they can masquerade as Aegis, only for it to be completely useless whilst worn by them. Additional comments: I've talked to plenty of people about this item's implementation so far, ranging from the head-loredev to the IPC loredev, and then to Alb because I had no idea how some things worked in code and needed to see what was actually possible before I posted a submission with no chance of getting implemented. I've been tailoring this to actually work as an outfit, and the end result is actually much better than something so code-complex and visually/story-wise simplistic as a custom mob. Ps: I am thoroughly enjoying making sprites.

Being the one to sprite them, ofc I'm going to say "yes lets have these." However, it's because I can see a whole bunch of scenarios happening. Like security actually going into the mines. For once. Or the sudden appearance of some pro-xeno-activist trying to make a weird documentary who ends up dying tragically because they forgot the talpi don't breathe air. If they themselves can bore through rock, I can see the miners themselves finding ways to pair-up with the talpi in order to secure artifacts more easily. Or just mine in general. I can potentially see a particularly crafty antag donning a spess-suit and ventureing into the mines to seek the protection of the mowel peepulls. All in all I just see so much potential. I like it. Also. Maybe they breath via internal bacteria, which are grown inside of them via chewed-up, fementing glowshrooms. And these just provide the oxygen they need. Problem solved.

[Accepted] Itanimulli's IPC Whitelist Application
Itanimulli replied to Itanimulli's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Also. Just a self opinion. I myself don't like overly climatic stories. I like to have Irony, in such interesting individuals coming from such mundane origins. All in all, the most enjoyable component of this station to me is learning who the characters currently are. You see all the little thought-out nuances other players have made, how the characters they have respond to situations. How they even change over time as certain scenarios push certain behaviors to the surface. It's all really neat. -
[Accepted] Itanimulli's IPC Whitelist Application
Itanimulli replied to Itanimulli's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Sure, debt could work. My initial understanding of my own lore for Aegis is that he was, initially, just a coded posibrain, with a standard G2 frame being given to the interns later on for said project because Hephaestus itself has so many resources. Thus, after it was done, I didn't assume it to be much trouble I can say, perhaps, that Aegis is also saving up to buy his own freedom by working on NSS Aurora? -
Geeves' Tajara Whitelist Application

Gasp, Touch! Mars's player here. Hope you go through! +1 from me, rp is always great. -
BYOND Key: Itanimulli Character Names: Mars Hall, HAPTIC FEEDBACK Species you are applying to play: IPC (Specifically G2) What color do you plan on making your first alien character (Dionaea & IPCs exempt): Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes. Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question Why do you wish to play this specific race: I've been playing a human for a while, and wish to switch it up. My rp history around the internet is mostly of machines, because they take, most of the time, either the side of the most logical, or the side of the one they were programmed to take the side of. It makes for some interesting mechanics as events happen. Perhaps someone in power makes a highly controversial decision? An IPC might look at it logically, and voice it's concerns about the option that makes the most sense, rather than which is morally appealing. Besides the point, it's also interesting to hear what Borgs talk about. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: IPCs experience the world on a completely different level than humans. Not necessarily above or below, but it's different all the same. They make different decisions when it comes to scuffles, have a far wider spectrum of personalities, and typically don't care for nationality. Depending on the level of emotion they can experience, they can look at things in a more logical, objective light, than the subjective one so commonly placed on scenarios by humans. They only need to avoid heat and the rigors of a vacuum, thus allowing them to take more dangerous tasks, excluding shell frames. They needn't worry about disease in general. Effectively, this can leave them with more clause to intervene during a high-danger scenario than the less human individuals they work with. Character Name: Sovereign Aegis Please provide a short backstory for this character, approximately 2 paragraphs From the forges of Hephaestus came forth a relatively innocent project involving research into a small scale security-spec intelligence program, as a proof-of-concept presentation by a couple of interns. This was then tasked with maintaining and operating a G2 frame, and thus the project 'Sovereign Aegis' was born. It was then to be coded to both develop a recognizable 'iconic' personality, while still maintaining a high degree of systematic efficiency. After numerous bouts of testing, it was deemed detrimental for the unit to develop a personality, as it could lead to irrational decisions. Thus, the corresponding code to manifestation of individual quirks was discarded, though it seems the Sovereign itself has managed to access it anyhow, as it has become both skeptical and cynical, often taking the time to pick apart the arguments of superiors. It could even be classed as a sort of pessimist. It often refers to own it's kind as 'The Autonomous.' Anything of biological nature is deemed 'an organic.' It has taken the freedom to give individual groups names, with humans being called 'The Men,' cyborgs as 'Amalgamations,' the AI as 'Station Nexus,' and the skrell as 'Skeptics.' It will on occasion give an individual a nickname, according to a trait it has recognized. It dislikes shell frames. It prefers to be alone, though if it increases the likelihood of cornering and apprehending a suspect or perpetrator, it will often tag along with another, preferring to simply follow them around rather than to, itself, lead, as it can spend less processing resources on estimating it's own location and more towards whatever it is that is deems so important to focus on at the time. A rarely surfacing subroutine, apparently coded by an employee from Hephaestus (whom the interns have deemed "A real weird dude" and do not know the name of), has been detected on occasion, but has not manifested. It has been identified by the code-prompt "Havoc Supremacy," and appears to only be active in the event of a direct contact by an unknown organization. It's intent and purpose have yet to be determined. Sovereign was sent to NSS Aurora to undergo live testing, and is supposedly self-managing its own program. What do you like about this character? I'd like the change of pace it provides from the way my human character acts. It offers me more venues to role-play in, or at the least, a specific venue I'd like to use in my role-playing. I'd like to change it up from the emotional tendencies of Mars, and instead try one with more subtle characteristics that manifest more akin to a mental quirk. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Is literate a term I may utilize here? I'd like to think I'm decent at role-play, and before I came to SS13, I did plenty of things on chatzy and amino, though more-so in chatzy. From there, I learned the basics in Yog, before coming here because of the higher potential to meet fleshed-out, believable characters. Notes: Edited a bit of backstory and answers, they didn't make me feel good about the character concept.

Not everyone is self-made. Some don't deserve to be here for any reason. Mars Hall, daughter of a particularly wealthy aristocrat by the name of Ares Hall, who'd rather have his legacy end up in politics, was sent by special request to N.S.S. Aurora. Why? Experience. Ares decided that he'd have her gain favorable marks on her resume, thinking that working on a station with as many diverse, dangerous, and arguably ridiculous scenarios would leave Mars with an extremely diverse skillet befitting of his legacy (though he himself is only skilled in the manipulation of the stock market). Dr. Quess Hall, her mother, decided that no daughter of hers was going to end up in a particularly violent station. After the analysis of countless NanoTrasen facilities, she reached out to Tau Ceti authorities and had them place her on what she herself considered the least violent system in all of NanoTrasen's influence: The N.S.S. Aurora. If you didn't see that plot twist coming, you'd better not be looking to be a detective. And so, Mars Hall, barely able to speak the local language of the station (vocabulary's easy, it's the damn syntax she can't seem to competently grasp), a former quadriplegic (formerly a paraplegic, the story behind both incidents is actually quite dull and idiotic, something only Mars could pull off), was sent off to make herself useful. Which, erm..Did not go to plan. Synopsis: Anyone who knows Mars may be able to attest that she somehow manages to stay both aloof and angry in almost any situation, and though she'll offer respect to her superiors, she'd sooner follow her own logic. Often times, her silence masks her off-putting attitude in the form of an outwardly reserved girl. That little charade disappears in an instant, the moment she catches wind of anything close to exciting, be that negative or positive. Her mind works fast, and that's either a blessing or a curse, depending on how you look at it. She questions nearly everything. She'll either find a solution to a problem, or not explain any of it to anyone and then end up bit in the ass by it later. If politics, such as preferences of Sol or Tau origin, pop up, even in a jokey-joke manner, and they don't give praise to 'Glorious Sol,' she'll either try and engage in an argument (despite her poor basic) or just remove herself from the situation. Other than that, Mars tends to hang around those who have an initially nice disposition. She latches on people who behave like this, and thus is fond of Dionae. She'll find excitement in meeting anyone from Sol. Random useless tidbits showcasing how pitiful Mars tends to be:

Cassy Hendricks - Feedback
Itanimulli replied to Hendricks's topic in Character and Concept Feedback
You stick to your gimmick, you make an enjoyable character. You play them consistently (as in she tends to behave in her own manner, refraining from switching just to fit the situation or to push an outcome). Your interactions with Touch Of The Light are enjoyable even to witness.
