  1. I'd like to state that it won't really help your case is starting getting ticked off by another user. It actually, could even harm your stance. I'd like to suggest users to take a step back and calm down a bit, before replying to each other.
  2. My biggest complaint with the brig, is how much empty and unused space there is now. A big brig is only cool, when there is stuff that fills the area. I wouldn't mind seeing it changed.
  3. This. Get rid of the dumb ones like people talked about before. We have like, three hair styles that are commonly used, and everything else is ignored.
  4. Skrell, to be honest, are the only species that needs something changed or added. Give people a reason to play them, because right now, only a few people do.
  5. As Skull stated, Aurora used to have tons of extended RP. Sadly, it got to the point where some players were even hostile OOCly, if you disturbed their chair-RP even a little. There were a few players, before the huge increase of players, who would go off in a corner and roleplay with three or four other players, and remove their headsets. There is a reason the medbay used to be joked about, and that's because a good deal of the time, you had four people sitting in the lobby talking, and not really doing anything. That said, if you're really into servers that do extended twenty-four-seven still, you can find them and look at them. Deathtrap, I believe, used to run constant extended, and it was as quiet as a mouse all the time, because everybody was off with their RP partners.
  6. That still makes them robotic. As stated earlier, forcing somebody to play as a borg or even a shell could be worse than just removing cloning all together.
  7. I'm going to try and distance myself from one side or another now, since it's slowly devolving into "ha, you're stupid, I'm right, and we should do (x) with cloning". I'm sorry to say, but if you're willing to leave the server because of something as trivial as removing a game mechanic, I don't think you're playing here for the right thing. There CAN still be a decent amount of RP without genetics. Stop waving "I'm going to leave if you remove it!" over your head. It doesn't do anything beneficial for either side. On the other hand, to remove cloning would, (because it IS a game mechanic) cause quite a bit of back-lash, not besides what's seen here. This would have to be a clear cut case of the majority making the decision. Multiple polls would have to go up, and people would have to be SURE what they were voting for. Either way, the two sides in this thread are going to have people upset, due to the outcome of this situation. Either we're going to have players who believe other's don't value death-RP as much as they should, or players who think they ruined their RP by removing a mechanic.
  8. With this thread's idea, you wouldn't even have the option to be cloned, in that situation. You'd just be gone from the round all together.
  9. I've skimmed through the pages, but I don't know if this has actually been stated. No, you're not going to get more RP from removing genetics. What is going to happen instead, even if you want to say it won't, is this. Person A will be killed, or be dying. Doctor B will run in and attempt to save them. Upon failing, Doctor B will alert medical to the person's death, and stuff them in the morgue where they'll be forgotten for the rest of the round. You're only going to get more RP with your clique of other players. You're not going to give a new, average Joe more RP in the least, because OOCly and ICly, who is going to care about their death? You may state "well, it'll affect them over a long period of time, knowing that they can't be cloned". No. No it won't. People may RP being cautious for a few days, but it'll get boring, and we'll have the same reaction and attitudes to situations that we do today. Also, this. Furthermore on the subject of this, Says who? You don't know a character's morals. Maybe they would rather die a thousand times over, than be a borg. Maybe they wouldn't. You can't say "that's better than death" for every case of a dead or dying character.
  10. Most cultists will spam you until you submit. It's kinda silly, but it's kind of a "I won, now you have to join me" kind of thing. Just throwing that out there. Not saying that it's right or wrong, just that it happens quite a bit.
  11. Does that mean you should sacrifice your own team's enjoyment, to create a better environment for the non-antags though? I don't believe Telsabot was telling you to go run and gun everybody, but is a bit displeased due to your other actions.
  12. If I recall correctly, the only other Nuke Ops were dead, meaning that SleepyWolf's Nuke Ops was the final one. I may have missed a bit of what happened with the character, but from what I observed, the character was helping medical, which medical seemingly allowed, and had joined Nanotrasen, and left her Nuke Ops team. Seen here: I am not sure if the medical team was going along with it, or what exactly happened there, but the Nuke Ops was given a job (supposedly) by medical. Seen here: This is the extent that I have seen, and have dealt with.
  13. Right. Let me get in the point of view from at least a security officer. This isn't one of the ones that was running around with guns. The armory have been blown up, so the HoS, because all the weapons were gone, went over to Cargo, and called me over. We were discussing what types of weaponry we needed, when suddenly the airlock for the mining dock went down. The AI said it was breached, and told everybody to leave the area. Just then, a Unathi CSI ran up, and while I was trying to get him to leave, the cargo bay blew up, killing him and sending me (as well as the HoS possibly?) into Red health. As the HoS and I tried to drag the dead Unathi away, the Nuke Ops kept shooting as us, before cutting our heads off. When asked later, Delta said that they blew up Cargo because they knew the HoS and security would be going there. I have no idea how the other officers handled things during the rest of the time, but that's what I saw, first hand. No, I don't believe any of those officers have weapons out, but I could be wrong.
  14. But how do you put anime is the garbage, if that's already where you belong, scrub?
  15. Xander sure likes bumping old threads lately.
  16. This can be pretty much summed up to this line, which works well, I'd think.
  17. Dunno what you guys are on about. It's an amazing game, for actual tabletop board games. Betrayal at the Hill, Monopoly, Werewolf, Snakes and Ladders, Poker, UNO, Pokemon, Dead of Winter, Chess, Checkers. There is a crap-ton of good games that works great on it. They all work great. Dunno why it's a bad game because it doesn't run DnD games well. The issue is that, 95% of the servers are password locked, and on a good day, you would get maybe 5-10 unlocked servers, and about 50-60 locked.
  18. You all are noobs. Why love each other, when you can love yourself to the max?
  19. I've going to be real here. A lot of people who have been leaving as of late just decide "the server is going downhill, you all are bullies people with poo-poo attitudes, and it's not my problem", and this isn't even the real reason for half of the people leaving (if you want to try and dig into them). A lot of the people I've seeing leave as of late, are leaving (in reality) for one of three reasons. Either, they have simply burnt out on RP, and don't feel like playing anymore, they don't like the amount of new players and liked it better when Aurora was a smaller 20-30 player server, or just don't like certain RP (too much chair-RP, not enough chair-RP, too many antags, not enough antags, etc etc). Are there sometimes arguments in OOC from time to time? Sure. Is it a rampant as some users like to say it is? No. The issue is that people are having issues in enjoying the server, and decide to blame the server as a whole for their lack of interest of fun in the game.
  20. The same way that people in movies and shows manage to jump from tall waterfalls, virtually unharmed. I'm not waterfall expert, but I'm pretty sure you'd be pretty banged up.
  21. And that should make sense. Even though dying is a part of the game, the server is still heavy roleplay. It's quite silly to see nuke ops or security running around shooting without a word.
  22. Because the complaint also has: I'm going to point something out. The issue about the attitude, is that it isn't limited to once instance. Plahunter doesn't seem like a bad player, but just gets really angry, quickly. I recall the first time that he was told he couldn't play Detective. He, using ( )s, said (if I'm recalling correctly), "you can't bar me from a role, fuckers", as well as a few other things, to generally be a bit annoying. He went on to keep telling people to get an admin, even after Josh, who was playing on Security that round, told him he was not allowed to play a Detective, due to DO intervention. This isn't as huge of a thing by far, but it's not like it's only happened once, as a heads up. That said, something I did notice him do, was stop playing Detective afterwards. Also, I don't know if it's due to this attitude as well, but it seems a few people seem to try and avoid him ICly (which shouldn't happen, but does). So, is this complaint based mainly on his actions that round, or his attitude overall?
  23. Nuclear Dawn has actually got a good deal of good responses from people, so it's not as if it is garbage.
  24. While this is cool and all, I hope people are still taking into account how space travel is for the average human, right now. In the end, none of it will really affect us, at our current situation. Unless we are highly trained astronauts, or skilled researchers, we won't have anything to do with warp bubbles, faster-than-light, or even just plain old space travel in our life times. It's cool, yeah. Is it going to change our (our personal) lives? No. You'd probably be able to more easily get, and be in a "sci-fi" world, the newly released real hover-boards, or Google Glass, than be involved with either FTL or warp bubbles.
  25. Psst. This should probably go over in Off-Topic, so you don't get people yelling at you. That said, 10/10.
