  1. Once, I can remember the bar somehow filling with gaseous plasma. I was an engineer in a hardsuit, and I had to try and save the people trapped in the bar with me. I tried to hack open the bolted doors. Unscrew the panel, pulse a wire..... *spark* Whole place lit up in flames.
  2. Fair enough. But isn't Code Delta a long-lost misplaced script of code that should never resurface, and thus would never be known by anyone of the crew, except maybe the RD, HoS, and captain? Hm, I'm getting my lore all mixed up.
  3. Question: What species/race are these Skrugg?
  4. Equally, for what reason would they keep a real actual nuclear warhead on an expensive space station? It could just be a replica nuke, and a trophy.
  5. Really? It got changed? Shucks.
  6. Engineers practically have all the materials necessary to build flamethrowers. It would drive Dilgan nuts.
  7. Ok, I'm just going to throw this out there, buuuuut.....doesn't everyone but the heads think that the nuke is just a fake? That had always been my impression when I played security and was watching cameras.
  8. That is quite true. *slams table* You don't know any of this, OK TRAVIS?! *nids* Never read into those ear flicks and twitches. Nevah.
  9. I'm not sure if this is the place to post this, but if it's wrong, please go and move it to the proper location. Anyway, awhile back we had an antag round. Long story short: the chaplain tried to appease his diety (he was antag) and was ready to attack some people in research - among them was Karima. The other antag yelled over comms, "Don't /kill/ Karima! She's got a bounty of $100,000!" ERT was called in, Karima was placed in the bridge for security reasons, etcetera. But I really wanna know, whoever placed that bounty on Karima, is that canon-worthy? How did it surface? Or was it simply background for that round? I checked the syndicate transmissions and found nothing about Karima having a bounty. And hey, I am totally fine with Karima having a bounty on her head, and her being completely clueless about why she has one. (Although that might cause issues with her contract). If there's any kind of backstory info about this, I'd love to know, so I can RP it canonly. ..............Secretly, Karima is a little honored that someone likes/hates her enough to put that kind of lump sum for her. Scared, yes, but that means she's recognized for more than just some run-of-the-mill tajara hired to fix mechs.
  10. Oh, she's always fine!!~! Peachy keen!! *ear flick* <----Yeah, she's totally not fine. XD Was that the part when the ling was brought to Xeno? Karima actually started that. She mrowled, "Nasir! If humans did this to every new sentient race they came into contact, the both of us would be the ones inside those pens!" ....Nasir had to agree.
  11. That would totally work too. Hmm, I'm gonna need to come up with another app then....I wanted something Karima would bring that related to her family.
  12. UH HUH. WHY DO YOU THINK SHE'S SO SKITTISH. .....And why the heck do all my characters end up with some kind of trauma? Lori is paranoid of AI, Rose has PTSD, and now Karima has disproportionate fear. I mean....wat.....
  13. For myself, Karima did not want to risk a single piece of fur for helping charlie. And she made it clear to charlie, "She's doing this for Travis and Osric. Not Charlie." ICly Karima felt betrayed and used. The longer she was involved, the more she began to doubt Charlie's story, and if she was telling the truth. She actually did try and turn Charlie in. Turning charlie in was going to be her way of trying to save Travis from the system. Karima has a legitimate fear for security, and what might have happen to Travis - even if her fears are a bit out of reality. She was terrified of the time her antag plot went wrong, and ERT came, kicking open doors and guns pointed at her. They never laid a hand on her, but she was roughly handled, shoved around, and tossed into the back of the ERT shuttle. Her interrogation was laced with underhanded threats of being shipped to a 'non-human prison that's badly kept' / ERT asking for permission to use force (raising a hand to assumingly slap her, that made her cower in fear) / and forcing her to listen to her crewmates mourning the dead, and how much they hated the horrible tajarans, her especially. Oh, Karima was terrified. Looking back on that, I gotta tip my hat off to ERT. Karima almost confessed out of pure terror. A lawyer can say the actions were unjustified, blah blah, maybe that's why she was found not guilty, or whatever. But she's Tajara. She's at the bottom of the rung. She knows she has very little fighting chance against the human system. Whatever happens behind closed doors - who's gonna believe her over a well-respected ERT fella? That fear was used against her.And it was that same level of fear that pushed her to help Travis, because she didn't want him to get thrown around like she did. But hey, he's actually human, so he's got a better chance.
  14. Hmm.....that is true. But at the same time I don't want a well defined SoP that can be tossed around willy-nilly to back up powergaming from either sides. If there's going to be any sort of edits, what we need is a guide on the wiki that explains in detail, what is expected of an officer. Not something that incident A is a briggable offense with consequence B. What can help is a guide on good ar-pee gameplay.
  15. No. I refuse to upvote this. Why? Because you, mister, are great at playing Hakra. And you won't play as Hakra if you play as skrell!! TAJARA MUST TAKE OVER THE STATION!!! ... ....Dammit, that's not a good enough argument. Ugh. +1
  16. I......hate to rain on your parade. The SoP are guideline rules. It's up to the security staff to determine how those guidelines are enforced. The lenience applied are warnings - no brig time, nothing on record. If they keep at it, then they get taken to the brig. IT honestly takes too much time and effort to process and arrest every single little issue. The SoP as it stands, is pretty decent in my views.
  17. Ok, I was there for the round, lemme drop in my comment. First off, can someone throw me a link of the new SoP? I'm going off on what I remembered from the old one. First thing I caught against SoP was the lack of a warrant - Travis was just up and arrested. I wasn't there for the interrogation. But from what I gathered, it wasn't "Innocent until proven guilty". It was, "I'm gonna pile up as many charges as I can against you so I have reason to keep you here for as long as possible." I don't even know if it was any kind of concrete evidence, (AI saw it, prints, witness, etc.) or pure speculation. If it was the latter, then Travis cannot be convicted. You give them the shortest brig time possible. Perma is strictly for grand-scale crimes (Or griefers). I mean big, evident threats, like a nuke-op. Vault contents can be replaced. Crew integrity, crew loyalty, crew productivity, and company reputation - those cannot be replaced. Tally up the charges, start the timer the minute they're in the brig. Once the timer is done, Travis should have been a free man. It doesn't matter if they didn't cooperate. He should have been given back his ID, his headset, his PDA, and his uniform. Then asked to come into the interrogation to sort the whole mess out. There are gaps in the SoP that a sneaky lawyer can twist to their advantage. Security isn't allowed to win every single time. Actually, yes. Travis literally cannot go anywhere. Any direction off the station = death. His only choice is to return to centcomm and get processed. I know it's frustrating but that is what has to be done. In a time far, far in the past, I have let criminals go out of my brig once processed (demoted, dangerous items taken away, tracking implant, etc) and they return to the crew. Unless they were specifically a threat, (or a griefer) an HoS' hands are tied from keeping a crewmember locked up for too long. It's against the SoP for me to hold them any longer than they should have. It falls under excessive use of force, and over-exceeding powers. If I did this, then my character is the one who's going to have to answer to centcomm. To make it worse, the criminal I'm trying to stop will hire some lawyer off station and get off scott-free. The warden made the right choice of letting him out with a tracking implant. Travis was as much as a victim as an accomplice. I know, a lot of us were self-antagging - myself included. I didn't realize there was something against the rules for that, and I am so, so, sorry. Karima was ICly guilt tripped, and she dragged Nasir into it. Buuuut.....it's technically a different subject, so I'm gonna leave that on the side.
  18. Nuke rounds on this server turn out pretty good, because most people know better than to go rambo. Forcing a revote when the majority wanted nuke, makes the majority vote lose importance - suddenly, it's appealing to the minority of votes. I'd prefer it if a round goes through, regardless of type, people can just shrug it off and roll with it. If it wins votes, it wins votes. How often have our nuke rounds turned sour? Honestly, most of the time we get OPs that don't even focus on blowing up the station. Heck, they try to take it over. They concoct elaborate ploys for the glory of the syndie. That's fun. And the less people there are, the less likely it'll run into chaos >> more chance for involved RP. Needing 15 is a game mechanic, so why not just alter it? If there are 12 ready, have 3 nuke ops and 9 crew. make it 1/4th within favor to the crew. Instead of forcing a revote every single time because we can barely scratch together the majority of 14 players who DO want to play.
  19. +1, yes yes and yes. Sierra is a great pAI and android. Haven't interacted much with her other chars, but I assume they're equally awesome. And, Karima wants her cousin.
  20. Rose couldn’t remember the last time she slept this well. She rolled to her side, pushing the facemask out of her eyes. “Bloody hell,” she murmured, looking around the expanse of the guest bedroom, “Silverstone are bloody rich…” Not an ounce of luxury was wasted. Lavender-pink walls were adorned with elegant paintings, some depicting landscapes of faraway colonies. The window filtered sunlight into the room, gracing an ornament rug. One wall was transformed into an aquarium, with different species of aquatic creatures milling around. The cozy queen-sized bed snuggled against Rose’s delicate frame, beckoning her to return to dreamland. She pushed herself up, shaking herself of the desire for more sleep. Never rest, don’t let your guard down. There was a knock on the door. “Lady Rose?” a voice called. “Uh, yeah?” she asked, quickly fixing up her camisole. “Who’s that?” “Ah, it’s only I, Lady Rose,” the voice replied. “Vincent. Master Edward and Master Hawk are waiting for you downstairs. They wish for you to join them for breakfast.” “Oh. Uh, I’ll be right there,” Rose called out. “Lemme just…change.” She said, quickly looking around the room. The only clothes she had brought in here were what she wore last night. Boots, cargo pants, and a tanktop with a little tear on the side – unceremoniously tossed ontop of a Victorian chair. She climbed out of the bed and grabbed the tanktop, bringing it to her nose. Dammit, she frowned. It stinks like yesterday sweat and engine fumes. “Yeah…um, gimme a minute.” “Of course, Lady Rose,” Vincent replied from outside. “Take your time.” Bloody hell, I’ve never been called a ‘Lady’ before. Rose looked around. “Um, okay,” she called back. “Thanks.” Vincent paused outside the door. “By the way, a maid came by earlier, and left a clean change of clothes for you in the drawer. We hope it’s to your taste.” Maids and butlers. They’re rich enough to hire mais and butl – wait, someone came into my room while I was asleep…bloody hell. She walked over to the drawers and pulled them open, nearly stunned at the gorgeous blouses and dresses at her disposal. “Nice…” “Lady Rose. Just remember Master Edward is very insistent you join the family for breakfast.” “Will do,” Rose replied, grabbing a tanktop at the top of the pile. “Thanks.” -- Rose opened the door to the dining room, stopping in her tracks. “Um. Hi.” Hawk Silverstone looked up from his plate, blinking once. “Oh. Hi Rose.” Rose glanced awkwardly around the room. Both Edward and Hawk were dressed in uniform – Edward in a well-fitted outfit of the Sol Alliance Military, and Hawk in his cadet uniform. A wooden cane rested against the table next to Edward. Hawk’s PDA laid next to him, the screen opened to what seemed like schedule book. Rose stood at the entrance of the room, suddenly conscious about her choice for casual tanktop and jeans. Edward glanced over at Hawk. “Hawk,” he said, “you better get going. I don’t want you to be late.” Hawk quickly set his fork down. “Right..sorry.” He stood up, grabbing his PDA and his backpack. “Laters,” he said, edging around the table. “Um, excuse me,” he said, glancing at Rose. Rose darted her eyes over to Hawk. They both had green eyes. “Huh?” she asked. “I…” Hawk gestured behind Rose. “Door.” “Oh. Yeah, no problem,” Rose said, stepping to the side to let him pass. She tracked his movements as he ducked out the door, quickly heading down the hall. Tell me to hurry up to ‘join the family,’ then send my brother away. Rose turned back to Edward. “Hi,” she said. Edward gestured to the empty seat across of him. “Rose, have a seat.” Commanding tone, slightly controlling. Rose nodded, pulling the chair out and sitting down. Probably proud. He likes to flaunt superiority. “What’s up?” Edward glanced over Rose. “…You’re very different from Hawk.” “We grew up with different lives,” Rose answered. Edward paused, studying her. “Rose,” he finally said, straightening in his chair. “Let me make this clear. You’re a Silverstone now,” he said. “And we have a respectable reputation to uphold.” Rose’s trigger finger twitched. Just slightly. Thorns…she doesn’t like this guy. “I’m not doing anything to disrespect the Silverstone, sir.” Rose answered. “Please,” he said. “I’m your uncle. You don’t need to call me ‘sir.’” “Habit.” He nodded. “Tell me about yourself, Rose Watson.” -- “So what kind of weird name is Hawk?” Rose asked. Hawk glanced over his shoulder. Rose leaned against the railing outside the combat simulator, one hand holding an apple, the other holding a pocket knife. She cut a piece of fruit out, holding it out to Hawk. “Want?” Hawk shook his head, “No thanks,” he said. He grabbed a towel nearby and wiped his face. “…what are you doing here?” “I was bored and decided to explore the mansion,” Rose answered. “Didn’t expect to find you.” “Oh, well. Yes. Um, this is our gym,” Hawk said. “I was just practicing.” “It’s a nice gym,” Rose said. Like everything else in this place. “You train often?” “I…try to get at least half an hour a day,” he said. Rose cut herself another piece of fruit. “Your punches are too stiff,” she said. “you’re gonna hurt yourself if you don’t loosen your shoulder.” Hawk walked over, leaning against the railing. “You know how to fight?” “Tch,” Rose smiled. “I went through the NT bootcamp too.” “Right,” Hawk said, face going a bit red. “Sorry.” “Relax,” Rose said, holding out another slice of apple. “Here. I stole it from the kitchen.” “It’s technically not stealing if it’s from our kitchen,” Hawk said, accepting the fruit. “Thanks.” Rose nodded, cutting herself another piece of fruit. Hawk stood next to her, equally silent. “Sorry,” he finally said, “Um. Still trying to get around the idea that you’re…well-” “What?” “That you’re my sister.” “Half-sister,” Rose said, handing him another piece of fruit. “Yeah…I know. Shocked me too when I found out I had a brother. Although to be fair,” she nodded, “I’ve had over a year to get used to the idea.” “…Why’d you help me?” he asked. Rose paused, glancing over. “Because you’re my brother.” “We’ve never even met,” he said. “Two months ago I was ready to face trial for murder. And then charges get dropped, and they catch the real guy.” Hawk shook his head. “I’m just – so much has happened in so short a time. Then you come out of nowhere and tell me you’re my half sister.” Rose remained silent, cutting herself another piece of fruit. “Did you have something to do with it?” he asked. “…Maybe.” “Maybe? My father died after meeting you. All I know is you’re some HoS cadet who went AWOL for over a year, then randomly resurfaced. Our DNA says you’re my sister, but I don’t even know who you are.” Rose shut her eyes. “Hawk..” “Rose. You at least owe me an explana-“ “Hawk,” she put her hands up. “Please.” she whispered softly. “Not yet. The shit-hell you went through –I swear I had nothing to do with it.” She looks over, eyes watering. “Just believe me when I say, I did everything I could to protect you. In whatever way I could. But I barely even remember what I did. There are huge chunks of my memory just…gone. I don’t remember.” Hawk looked away. “…That sounds really convenient,” he said bitterly. “It’s the truth, and I don’t know what else to say,” she sighed. “I didn’t kill our father. Please stop blaming me for that. I got kidnapped because our father was supposed to escort something extremely important for NT,” she shut her eyes. “After I got rescued, that was the first and only time I ever met him. Then he got killed. I don’t know, the police don’t know. They went after you next because you’re his son.” Hawk looked away, eyes equally watering. “I just didn’t want to lose the one chance I had. I just found out I have a family here. Please, don’t push me away.” Hawk took a deep breath, letting out a sigh. “I’m sorry,” he said. “It’s fine,” Rose murmured. “I’m sorry too.” “You will explain it to me one day, right?” “…I will.” “You promise.” “I do,” she nodded. “Just, please. Give me time. I need time to heal.” Hawk nodded. “Take the time you need, Rose. No one’s gonna rush you.”
  21. Is it an RCD? I bet it's an RCD. You can survive in space for a short duration without a space suit. Wear a fire suit, gasmask, and fire helmet (I think any helmet works) and you can crawl around in space. Afterwards, drink lots of coffee to lose the effects of spacefreeze.
  22. This deserves mention here.

  24. I am a terrible ling. Bloody horrible. ANYONE CAN VOUCH FOR THIS As ling-Karima, I broke into the captain's office, ready to steal his ID and absorb the captain. He comes out of his room, spots me, and points his gun at me. I manage to sneak in and stun him, cuff him, drag him into the captain's room, steal ID, and get ready to do the impossible - absorb the captain. ....Then I step on broken glass. The captain got free and sec came to arrest me. GG to Karima, can't wear shoes because she's not human and shoes don't fit.
  25. Power cells don't fit in small containers, like boxes or webbing vests. But if you attach it to a pair of gloves to make stungloves, they'll fit. Now you can carry a power cell without sacrificing a slot in your bag.
