Thank you for answering my questions. As it stands the question of how they differ from humans is too bare bones and doesn't convey a lot of the topics inherent to Auroran IPCs. I recommend getting to know the IPC players in game, as a lot of lore can be gleaned that way. There are a few story beats that I am concerned of as well. If the IPC was built to be a test unit, what was being tested and why? Given the cost of a frame and a positronic brain, why was the unit thrown out instead of sold? Not to say an IPC can't have this backstory but due to the nature of IPCs, these things need to be detailed. As such I will deny your application for now however you are welcome to reapply in 3 days at the minimum.

Since applications are a demonstration of ones understanding of the lore, mysteries or spoilers can't be really be used. You can DM me it if you want it kept secret however since an IPCs original purpose is crucial to their making, I'll have to ask that it's detailed. Where was he before going to Tau Ceti? Was TB thrown out in Tau Ceti? Are you able to expand on the question of how IPCs differ from humans?

Likely something with less overall consequence or importance. More in the case that if a Nanotrasen (or equally important) station was attacked, it'd likely be in the news.

Either or is fine. It's up to you.

I understand! The syndicate is one of those things in the lore that hasn't been canonically touched in sometime. However I'm not sure what the team's plans are for it. It'd be better to pick mercenaries or pirates, yeah. I might avoid having it be a Nanotrasen station as well.

Hello, thank you for applying. Although somewhat unclear (when it pertains to pAI) we do not allow pAI to IPC or Stationbound to IPC characters in the lore. As such I will need to ask that the character concept is changed. Moreover since antagonists as well as the syndicate are questionably canon, I would stray away from using them. Day to day the station isn't attacked by the number of antagonists we see in round.

Hello, thank you for applying. A lot of the same questions apply. Are you able to greatly expand on the application? Particularly the backstory (which calls for two paragraphs) as well as the question of how they differ from humans. You have an interesting concept however why was TB discarded over salvaging or selling the unit? What was their original purpose? Was the station that they were made on in Tau Ceti? What frame is TB? What role will they be on station?

I don't know if this applies, and may be something that will require the human team to confirm over myself but, Carpe did not write Silversun. I have been told they offered ideas and suggestions however they have been claiming otherwise.

BYOND Key: Niennab Game ID: Not applicable (Lore Discord + DMs) Staff involved: Not applicable (Lore Discord + DMs) Reason for complaint: Multiple instances of breaking the ‘Dont be a Dick’ rule. Did you attempt to adminhelp the issue at the time? No, these instances were in the Lore Discord as well as my Discord DMs. Approximate Date/Time: Multiple instances from February 16th to March 1st. Starting from February 16th, I have witnessed 3 separate instances where Carpe Venenum has been blatantly abusive to people in the Lore Discord and 1 instance where they came into my Discord DMs to call me a liar. I will however break down each instance below. February 16th The first instance was where on February 16th they came to the synth-general channel to inquire as to why the baseline chassis doesn’t have the Silversun accent. It’s a good question and but in my effort to explain why as well as get more information out of Carpe Venenum (as they were proposing a character concept), I was met with hostility, and a refusal to offer any discourse. This isn’t the worst instance but I believe the start of what was more of this behavior to follow. Screenshots: February 21st In human-general, during a conversation about different human planet lore, Danse’s lore canonization application is posted by another player and Carpe Venenum immediately begins to insult the application. Danse, needing to leave and feeling frustrated, privated the document to which caused even more cruelty from Carpe Venenum. I find this behavior genuinely disgusting. No one should be treating anyone like this in the community. Screenshots: February 22nd During a conversation about how human lore relates back to present date ethnicities, Carpe Venenum got unreasonably snappy with Omi before being called out. Screenshots: March 1st After a discussion in both synth-general and synth-thinktank pertaining to both Bio-synthetic shells as well as the IPC Rework, Carpe Venenum opted to enter my DMs in order to tell me how they disagree with the reason for making IPCs modular. I explained how it’d clean up the subspecies, allow for hodge-podge IPCs and allow us to add the Unbranded frame into the mix. Admittedly I have no confirmation on the Unbranded frame being added, but I more than understand that the developers have 0 obligation to stick to any of the proposed documents. Something that I bring up in the conversation. However, Carpe Venenum decided to say that I am ‘pulling a sneaky’ on the developers because I want to reduce the number of subspecies as well as get the unbranded frame in. Something that I still don’t follow, but it bothers me all the same. When I asked for confirmation, I offered that this conversation should be moved to a public space. I was uncomfortable, and I did not like the idea of a conversation like this being private. I do not appreciate being told I am being malicious when I am not, especially when they later claim I am trying to ‘weasel in’ the Unbranded frame. At this point, after getting confirmation that I could do this, I blocked Carpe Venenum from engaging with me in my DMs. Screenshots: I believe these instances demonstrate an issue and one that will continue to repeat.

Lmwevil becomes a ʎɹɹnɟ loyal party member
niennab replied to Lmwevil's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
You shouldn't be writing your application with the intention of baiting easy questions from the lore maintainer. In fact, I'd argue that an application should aim to be air tight and not get any questions at all. If an app needs questions asked, it means something is missing. Why aim for that, yknow? -
A point could be made for the way bans are recorded and appealed, however I don't believe replacing the entire relay team is is appropriate nor necessary. As I understand and through my interactions with them handling anything synthetic related, the current team does fantastic work. If replaced, I'd worry for the increased responsibilities on the moderator and admin team. They have more than enough to manage as is.

Carpe Ranas - Ven's Skrell Deputy Application
niennab replied to Carpe Venenum's topic in Developer Applications Archives
While I accept your apology, that's not quite the purpose of my comment. I'm not too concerned about your interactions with me or my team, but rather your interactions with the playerbase. I believe elevated positions should be held to a higher standard, and previous incidents where that standard was not met should be noted. -

What was a conversation regarding Silversun synthetics in the lore discord yielded quite a bit of unwarranted abrasiveness on your part. One has to be diplomatic both between players as well as the team and as such at this time I do not believe you'd be suitable for staff. -

Thank you for applying! How do III and IV feel towards one another? Is there a sense on comradery, competition, etc etc. How do III and IV feel having gone through a sheltered life only to find themselves thrust into the world? What do they think about freedom? As a side note, since IPCs are made for certain tasks and thusly would require expensive databases to take up roles in workplaces, I would have them start in their respected service fields upon starting work on the Aurora, rather than the assistant path.

The answers in the human question still possess a number of lines lifted directly from the wikipedia. That and due to a number of details left unclear or questionable I will be denying the application for now, however you are welcome to reapply in 3 days. Some issues with the backstory are that the IPC was originally made without a purpose. Although the event that transpired changed much of their existence, an IPC still needs to have been made with an initial purpose and reason. Moreover given that shells are often not given the choice in which chassis they inhabit, I feel that hating them for this notion alone, as if they have a choice, is a stretch.

Although I understand the difficulty, a whitelist application requires you to detail the backstory and much of the character in order to prove that you understand the lore and are able to apply it to character creation. As such, if you're unable to expand on the backstory as well as the human question, I will have to deny your application for now. However feel free to apply in three days at the minimum.
-
If you could, we'd appreciate it. Since you've offered us good and clear answers, you can write something short as well. I personally feel the backstory is an important piece of writing in an application because it offers the ability of one being able to conceptualize and apply the lore to character creation. I can also extend your application period two days if you'd like, as I normally tend to wrap up an application in 72 hours.

[ACCEPTED] SSSSherman SSSSeeks Honour
niennab replied to The7thLain's topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
I am unable to comment on the lore content of the application however I am certain Sherman can handle anything. Sherman has incredibly creative, well-rounded and nuanced characters that both do something unique with the lore while not being lore-breaking. A billion +1s all the way.
