  1. Personally I prefer the collar lowered as it is here. The old version was a bit much. That being said I have no issue with the proposed changes. However, and it just dawned on me, I don’t think this should be implemented until the brown version of the jacket featured here is also tweaked.
  2. The warehouse might as well be deleted by that logic. Sorting items that no one will use is nothing more than a clicker game. Quartermasters will want it sorted, yet it’s a waste of time otherwise. The antags don’t have to be in cargo to benefit from it. Say if someone in another department were to go riffling through the crate before others can see it or, in the case of Security, the warden doesn’t get to it first. Regardless the antag portion of the suggestion can be ignored if an issue. I only play extended anyway.
  3. I’ve noticed while playing cargo and ghosting a few rounds that the warehouse is seldom sorted or sent out in full. Cargonia aside, I think that the first and second floor to the warehouse, the bounty list, phoron bounty and orders means that if someone wants to RP, the warehouse is ultimately ignored or only high value items are searched for and sent out. On my own, working efficiently I think it took me 40 minutes to sort both levels, which can be quite draining. After sorting the warehouse and moving about 3 mops into the pile for janitorial that I knew would never be used, I wanted to propose that the list of items that can spawn is instead changed to feature predominantly: Lore items such as the bone charm, Vysokan clothing, Ceres Lance dress uniform, Golden deep accessories and uniforms, and so on and so forth. Essentially anything beyond the default colored jumpsuits and hats that offer a bit of intrigue or role play in finding. Quality of life items such as the surgery improvement tools, nanopaste, blue space beakers, surgery kit, combat medical kit. More or less all the cool departmental stuff that either needs to be made or is seldom seen but provides a mechanic benefit. Antagonist related items. This one is hard because even a bar of soap could be reasoned to be used one way or another. However anything security or medical related, insulated gloves, departmental headsets etc etc. Bounty list items such as towels, briefcases, figurines etc etc. That way the bounty’s have a chance to be fulfilled if it is unobtainable otherwise. Things that I feel should be reduced: Items that are incredibly basic or there is already an abundance of: mops, small batteries, simple uniform items, fossil bags, crayons, cigarettes, etc etc. If changed, I feel as though it will give a reason for departments to eagerly accept warehouse crates as well as give a reason for technicians to sort the warehouse in full. Thank you for your time!
  4. Sounds good! Before I process your application I realize a question was missed. Could you clarify what you mean by this? Particularly in regards to under estimating. I was wondering how you intend to play this as well, or how it will show:
  5. Hello, thank you for applying! Can you go into detail on these remarks here? In terms of the backstory, since the Necropolis rebranding occurred this May, and before that date IPCs were not employed under Necropolis, players will need to factor that into their backstory. If you want the IPC to be older, I recommend them having existed before this time and being purchased during the rebranding or a few months before for set up and testing. Why is that?
  6. I'd love to see this implemented. It will give IPCs a reason to use their medical records for maintenance, something I do with mine, and give Roboticists an excuse to call in IPCs or organic crewmembers with prosthetics should they have any downtime/want to rp. If there's no desk space for a laptop, perhaps it's something availble on Roboticist PDAs and loadout laptops/wristbounds/etc?
  7. Due to his multiple sales, his paper trail would have likely started questionably but anew however surviving the accident wouldn't have made him free. There would be no proof of him acquiring or being granted freedom after all. Having survived, the government likely would have expected him to return to his owners, and thus he is now more a runaway synthetic but one likely assumed to be dead. A synthetic could get forged papers however it seems a bit narratively convenient that the gang has enough influence and credits to both forge documents and buy the necessary databases for a synthetic to change its designation. Synthetics that flee other systems (Sol as an example) and turn themselves in to the Tau Ceti government are given a choice between joining the TCFL for a year or being auctioned off to the megacorporations.
  8. I am excited to see what you do with the role. I've had fun rping with Agni-son as Brandon and I trust you can execute the role. +1 I am uncertain if a character who is a corporate liaison can also work as a scientist. Will Agni-son be working exclusively in the role as a liaison?
  9. We've written an expansion on Artificial Intelligence on the Synthetic's page. Credit to Tailson for their hard work. https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Synthetics
  10. Hello, thank you for applying! I have a few questions. To start, what do you mean by this? Particularly in regards to underestimating. Is the character’s name Malvarna or Somnos? Did their designation change? Is the scrapper gang related to the scrappers in Eridani? Was Malvarna in Eridani, Sol or Tau Ceti at this time? You mention Malvarna as being free but by all accounts he’d be an illegal IPC. If not how did he acquire his freedom or was his paperwork forged? Is he still affiliated with the gang or unaffiliated? Why did the gang let him leave? You mention this portion here but how did Malvarna acquire the databases in order to work in Security?
  11. I wonder if having an expansive roster of canon ghost roles would benefit the server narratively. Something that does away with a lot of the repetition round to round but enough of them that they remain in some ways fresh. Thus, players who take the role can drive a narrative or experience something unique. My highlights of the King of the World Arc came not from the server events, but the ghost role stuff. If I host an arc again, it's likely that I will do so exclusively through ghost roles or unannounced on extended. Personally, it's these or the quiet moments on extended that stick with me the most. However we may want to consider what we want to be as a server. Are we HRP? Perhaps by SS13 standards but in my opinion, not really. But with less of a focus on gameplay and more on narrative, character and story, we can be.

  13. Due to the barebones nature of the application, I will deny your application for now as I don't believe it offers a concrete understanding of IPCs and the ability to apply said concepts to their character creation. However you are welcomes to reapply in three days. Some questions that come to mind are if Harpo was a unit meant to assist mute and deaf patients, why is he a bartender on the Aurora? What prompted the change from care giver to bartender? You mention he wants to change horizons however he is owned. Did his employers grant him this? Why? What prompted him to make the change to pursue different avenues? Why? So on and so forth. Keep in mind that IPCs are more than their mechanics. In answering the 'how do they differ from humans' question, try to consider what conceptually makes them different than humans. Also, I assume a mistake but there's this odd bit:
  14. Ishtar's Temple and Babylon Garden have been edited to reflect more of a Host/Hostess club. https://wiki.aurorastation.org/index.php?title=Venus#Ishtar.E2.80.99s_Temple_and_the_Babylon_Garden --- Moreover, the synth deputies and I have decided that characters that were a part of the old Stationbound to IPC route of character creation cannot be grandfathered in. It would require a lot of ongoing work to reconcile it with our current lore and potentially our future projects, which is something we want to avoid if at all possible. If you need help rewriting your character's backstory, you're welcome to reach out to myself, Stryker or Tailson.
  15. Thank you for applying. Can you expand upon the story as well as the question: Consider telling a story with your application. Is Harpo owned by Zenghu still? Why are they on the Aurora?
  16. I can get behind this. Even better if the weapons aren't locked behind a warden, which can usually mean a lot of running around chasing stationbounds, engineers or command for us lowpop losers.
  17. Personally I'd prefer if the lethal shots firing through windows stayed. As is, the disruptor pistols assist a lot with xenofauna and can get officers out of a tricky situation if they run out of charge on a main weapon or try to help with the (just god awful) events while others are being armed.
  18. I'll be taking an extensive break from commission due to a move but here are the last from the most recent batch! Nikita Yutani and Naledi Ahmehlo Alice Farasci and Yingmei Lastly, I've drawn a lot as a result of this server and so I wanted to thank everyone who has commissioned me. Although I only really started in May of 2019, I am impressed by the volume of art I have drawn in 2020 as a comparison. A few images are missing from 2020 as well as a few duplicates but I think the quantity is clear! 2019 2020
  19. What I really liked about he disruptor pistols, is that they allowed the ISD to address xenofauna at a much quicker rate. If a code is changed to yellow or a warden is there to unlock them, some personnel can see to xenofauna while others are being armed. Although I understand they were dumb potent against antags and personnel, I would love to see them present if only for addressing carp and spiders. Maybe they're made more lethal against simple mobs?
  20. Fantastic! Thank you for the clarification. Your application demonstrates an understanding of IPC lore and the ability to apply it to character creation. Accepted.
  21. Sounds good. There's no need to edit it in but just something to consider/make a note of. I chatted with my deputies and another question did come to light: Given that emotions and emotional displays often seem to run contrary to the logical "1:1" nature of IPCs, it might help with character consistency to think about how PG views emotions. For example, why would she play a song that elicits tears? Is it simple curiosity? No wrong answer, but simply consider how it views emotions. Also bear in mind that living as a free IPC is no easy feat. Parting Glass will be coming off of having to pay for the relevant databases for their new line of work and supporting their maintenance all while making a 3rd of what a human makes as a bartender. Just another thing to note about the lore and how it applies to the base concepts surrounding IPCs.
  22. Hello and thank you for applying! Long form applications are always a breath of fresh air and you've done a fantastic job in writing it. I had a few questions. What prompted Sarah/Parting Glass to shed a few tears when in the Chief's office? There aren't any wrong answers, however I am curious about your thought process. One could argue an IPC is built efficiently and (circumstance depending) would need to willingly cry in an overwhelming moment, over a human simply finding themselves overwhelmed. I'm not saying you can't have tear ducts or do it however. Is there a reason Parting Glass didn't stay in the role of a Detective? Given that she has the databases, training and experience. If she were to move to being a bartender, it may be a good point to just make that she would have had to purchase relevant databases for her new job. Something that is admittedly unclear on the wiki.
  23. The maintainer role, much more than the deputy role, has a lot of power and can dictate a lot about the way any given lore for a race shifts or changes. I could understand possibly giving you a chance as a deputy, but applying for a maintainer is too much given your history. While acting as the synthetic deputy you were largely inactive, had no projects, wouldn't respond to pings and frequently got into arguments with the other developers. I spent a fair share of my time early on as the maintainer not doing maintainer duties, but reigning you in. Given that skrell and synthetic teams often have to work together, I do not feel comfortable working with you.
  24. With all the work you've done, I assumed you were an official developer for the longest time. I think this application is a longtime coming and you easily have a +1 from me.
  25. Thank you for the expansion. Your application demonstrates an understanding of IPCs as well as the ability to apply said lore to character creation. Accepted.
