  1. Hello, Thank you for applying. There are a number of lore discrepancies in the application, unclear answers to questions, and a few topics crucial to IPCs that are missing. As such I will be denying your application for now however I recommend playing more, getting to know our current IPC players for inspiration, and familiarizing yourself with the lore. You’re welcome to reapply in three weeks at the minimum. To note, a few examples of lore discrepancies are the cost of the IPC, which chassis the IPC is, that IPCs can eat and drink, and the remark that positronic brains are somewhat possessed. For the character portion, I recommend writing something more grounded as well. One has to ask, how would this character differ if they were human? And if the answers aren’t different, the character isn’t necessarily a machine at ‘heart’.
  2. It comes down to my account. I was told if I upload to the galleries it won't compress, but I haven't tried that option yet.
  3. I have no issue with any of the frames smoking however I don't know if it's common enough that'd something like this would exist in the lore or need to exist in the lore. If we had e-cigarrettes it'd make a bit more sense.
  4. Awesome stuff! I’d love to see more!
  5. (deleted because file limit)
  6. Hello, thank you for applying! There’s a lot here that I don’t think the application can be salvaged with a series of questions. As such, I am going to deny you for now however you’re welcome to apply in a minimum of three days. I’ll detail the issues below. I recommend expanding on the human question. You talk about the difference between free and owned IPCs but not necessarily how they differ from role playing a human. For the backstory, the application calls for a 2 paragraph minimum. Moreover, there are a lot of unclear details and the character doesn’t feel necessarily grounded in reality. Where in Sol did he live? Why were they nicknamed Core? How did his owners die despite being wealthy? How did Core get access to their wealth? If they don’t want freedom then why did they flee to TC? Considering no where was particularly safe during the conflict. So on and so forth.
  7. Thank you for the clarifications and expansions. Your application demonstrates an understanding of IPCs, accepted!
  8. Hello! Thank you for applying. Could you expand on this portion here? Particularly how they differ from humans in terms of their behavior, aspirations and social hierarchy/status. Somewhat in reference to this passage below, is there a reason why Sylvie prefers to solve matters through more diplomatic means? Did the death of her first partner change her outlook on how she should approach reclamation work? Lastly, what are Sylvie’s opinions on freedom and citizenship? Does Sylvie have any aspirations themselves?
  9. Thank you for addressing Stryker’s questions. Emulating emotions as an IPC can be difficult in finding the right balance however I am certain you will succeed. Your application demonstrates an understanding of IPCs and the ability to apply said concepts to character creation. Accepted.
  10. Thank you for applying! I enjoyed reading Valeria's backstory and it's nice seeing the Elyran IPC lore used. Are you able to expand on this portion here? You detail how varied IPCs can be, but not so much how they differ from roleplaying a human.
  11. To echo those above, I'm not a fan of this change since its ultimately locks certain players into exclusively playing at night. I like that the current station time offers a varied experience, one that lends itself to the fact that we also aren't consistently playing our characters. Also yeah night lighting can be hellish depending on your role or race.
  12. I’ve deleted a few older commissions from this thread due to the forum upload limit. However if you ever lose your file for the commission feel free to reach out. I have them all saved to my computer. Thi Mai Linh
  13. Not to worry, I understand. I tend to go through the same method myself of piecing together characters as I make them over what the application calls for. Nonetheless your application offers an understanding of IPCs, accepted!
  14. Thank you for the expansion. I chatted with my deputies and we have a few points of note. I will have to urge you to take another route for why she was sold from Idris. The rank of a CFO is nothing to scoff at, near wiki level in terms of named personnel, and to outwardly have them engage in workplace sexual harassment is not a good reflection of the lore. A lot of these more sensitive topics ultimately need to be ignored in favor of catering to a more healthy space for players instead of one that is more notably darker in it’s themes. What I would suggest instead is an accident. You could even lean more into the robotic nature, over one that might seem human in nature. An an example, perhaps your IPC was told there was an important meeting at 9 and not to let anyone in, the person in question turns up for the meeting but your IPC refuses them entry, possibly even physically barring the person. A small mistake made by a more literal guided mind but one grounded enough to have the IPC ultimately sold. Lastly, moving from secretary and a personal assistant to HOP is a substantial jump. Although not lore breaking you may want to consider the learning that would have been uploaded to Amandine to take on a more managerial role, as well as how she might need to grapple or adapt with that now. As well as how the life under Idris and the life under the fashion designer interplay in the development of her personality. A long ramble but if you’re fine with changing the reason for her sale, I can move ahead with the application.
  15. I could be wrong but I believe when its voted extended, the 'check round info' button simply says that the round is dynamic. If that is the case, could it be changed? I'd hate to not know it was extended only because I missed the initial vote and round start.
  16. Hello! Thank you for applying! Never worry about an application being too long. The longer the application the better, honestly. Nonetheless, there’s a lot here about Amandine’s owners and their conflict but very little pertaining specifically to her. Can you expand on that? As an example, did her time alone in the estate have an impact on her? Was there anyone else in the estate? In that time being alone did she develop independently? If not, why? What are her opinions on freedom and self ownership? Etc etc. Moreover can you go into greater detail on this portion? What was the incident?
  17. Without a manifest readily available to the crew I fear what it would mean for lowpop or rounds where a department isn't staffed. As players might find themselves in the odd situation of standing outside a dark department going "is anyone in cargo/medical/science?" etc but with no one to answer them. Or a miner going out onto the asteroid won't have any way of immediately knowing if medical is staffed should something go wrong. That being said these small things. Maybe if there was a way that off station antags could get a card that adds them to the manifest perhaps that would help?
  18. More art. I may be opening myself for commissions soon although given the uncertainty of my schedule it may have to be one at a time.
  19. I have to withdraw my support as well. I typically only enjoy extended and that means if I vote and lose, I will more than likely just wait 2 hours and try again. With the proposed version it just seems as though the losing side is being punished by trying to vote for what they want. Worse yet I fear this will cause am even greater less likelihood that we will see extended voted for, since it often loses. Only the winning votes should be readied.
  20. I think it'd be a great addition but ultimately it comes down to a developer taking on the project.
  21. Once again @Haydizzle comes in and does my work for me. Nonetheless, thank you for applying! This is an all around solid application that demonstrates an understanding of IPCs. Accepted. Typically I am not strict when it comes to where exactly an IPC was manufactured (other than the star system), however good catch with the wiki stuff. I’ll see to fixing that detail in the next set of days.
  22. I agree with Abo. There are some players who prefer anonymity and I would hate to see that feature taken from them. However if there was a way to somehow detach the name from the roles being fought over, I'd be on board.
  23. Thank you for the clarifications. Your application demonstrates an understanding of IPCs, accepted.
  24. Staff ultimately set a precedent for what is appropriate behavior and if you don't see it as an issue, nor something that needs to be reigned in (or only reigned in in specific places when told to stop), then I dont believe you'd be fit for staff. Just today you made this remark here in the lore Discord. Which, ultimately leaves me uncertain how to really read the application as a whole.
  25. Hello, thank you for applying! Since the answer is specific, which nations/planets are you referring to here? I’m curious as well if you can expand on what you mean by IPCs are treated with almost the same rights as humans in Biesel?
