Explosive bullets that can make your head asplode.

A game about the wonders of automation. Everyone knows about Minecraft, Terarria, Starbound, etc etc. And everyone knows how tedious it is to strip mine a continent to extract barely enough resources to craft yourself a single piece of mid-tier gear. The creators of Factorio saw that problem, and then thought about how much better those games would be if you could delegate mining to mindless, soulless robots so you could focus on the crafting. And then they thought about how much better it would be if you could automate the crafting process. And then if you automated the process of building machines to automate the crafting process. And so on and so forth. And then they threw in automated sentry guns, face-biting man-sized insects and high explosives, and mixed it all up in an overarching sci-fi setting. It's fucking amazing.

We're talking about aliens that can morph into different forms, suck the juices out of people, and have telepathy. Common sense and reason have no place here. I think it's a good idea, it makes them seem more like hostile, terrible alien creatures, rather than just people with proboscises sucking your brains out.

I'm going to have to agree with this here. While this particular incident may have been justified due to circumstances, Ana is probably the most hostile character on the server, and one of the least approachable. No matter what character I'm using, I'm expecting a 50/50 chance that my face will be clawed off whenever I see her due to what I've seen and what I hear of what she's done. Not to say she's a bad character, or that Sue is bad, that is. It's just that a super angry catlady with a gun would make anyone nervous.

Borgs aren't as cuddly. And they are unable to rip out jugular veins with razor sharp synthetic teeth.

If I may weigh in here, the act of firing a weapon using conventional ammunition is considered the use of lethal force, no matter what you're aiming at. There is no such thing as using a lethal weapon to nonlethally subdue a suspect or assailant; when you open fire on a target, you always, always SHOOT TO KILL. Given that, I think Sue/Ana was perfectly justified in their actions, though they'd have a metric shit ton of paperwork to go through, not to mention a hearing. That being said, I will agree that citing US law on the matter is rather irrelevant. Ana is not a real cop, she is a corporate security employee.

Dungeons and Dragons campaign: Tyranny of Dragons.

Don't forget the nat1 bluff that ended up blowing everyone's cover. -
I read a book one time (okay, I read the first quarter of a book) called The Cusanus Game, and it mentioned genetically and cybernetically enhanced killer dogs that were developed for military purposes that had a limited ability to think, and voice their thoughts through speech modulator implants. Interesting concept, I think. I didn't read the rest of the book because time travel back to the dark ages without bringing battalions of modern military forces with you to conquer the world bores me.

I fully support Tool returning to the lore team. He was here when we started, and he can definitely do writings. -
Reporting Personnel: Aaron Houston Rank of Reporting Personnel: Station Engineer Personnel Involved: Jade Rathel (Security Officer), Ash Callahan (Security Cadet), Ana Roh'hi'tin (Crime Scene Investigator), Phillip Asimov (Assistant) Time of Incident: Between 1200 and 1500 hours on the day of 16 FEB 2457 Location of Incident: The primary tool storage area of the NSS Aurora, and the transfer shuttle sent to the station from the NMSS Odin while en-route. Nature of Incident: [X]Workplace Hazard [X]Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property [X]Neglect of Duty [X]Harassment [X]Assault [X]Misconduct []Other _____ (Place an x in the box that applies. If other, replace line and specify.) Overview of the Incident: The first incident occurred when I was searching for extra coils of wire in the primary tool storage area of the NSS Aurora. I overheard a conversation between Ash Callahan and Jade Rathel. I chuckled at something I overheard from their conversation, and Mister Callahan took great offense to that. He confronted me and threatened me with violent acts. Officer Rathel attempted to quell her colleague's temper, but it only seemed to make him angrier. I told Callahan that if he attempted to harm me, I would be forced to defend myself, and he proceeded to knock me over. When I got up, he came at me again and I retaliated by hitting him with my wrench and pushing him down. Officer Rathel brought the conflict to a close by subduing Callahan with pepperspray. Afterwards, I set out to find his superior to report his behavior. The second incident occurred when I found Ana Roh'hi'tin at the escape bay pending a crew transfer. I explained what happened with the first incident, while Callahan ran around yelling unintelligibly. Phillip Asimov was also present, acting in a similar manner, spouting gibberish. When the shuttle arrived from the Odin and the crew boarded, I witnessed Callahan and Asimov verbally harass Miss Roh'hi'tin. Within the next few moments, Callahan initiated another conflict. Miss Roh'hi'tin attempted to arrest him, firing her taser. One of the bolts went wild and hit me in the chest, though I avoided serious injury because I was wearing a hardsuit at the time. In the middle of the chase, Asimov knocked over Roh'hi'tin and stole her taser, intending to use it on her. I subdued Asimov and handed the taser back to Miss Roh'hi'tin, who promptly arrested Asimov. Callahan was subdued moments later by the other two members of security on the shuttle. Did you report it to a Head of Staff or IAA? If so, who?: Miss Roh'hi'tin was acting as the interim Head of Security at the time, and I reported the first incident to her at the earliest possible time. The second incident directly involved her. Additional notes: I would expect a greater degree of professionalism among Nanotrasen's finest. The display I was witness to was utterly shameful.

This is your ship. These are your people. Save them. From nothing. Systems Nominal, a game by Daniel Hardcastle (AKA Nerdcubed). A game in which you have to prevent your space ship from exploding by resetting its malfunctioning systems with your keyboard. Simple in design, simple in execution, utterly soul-rending in its difficulty. Your score is measured by the number of crew that have been evacuated from the ship. Your job is to keep the ship in one piece until they all have a chance to evacuate. Easier said than done. You can get it for free here. And I highly suggest that you try it.

"This is my BOOMSTICK!" Also, 2001: A Space Odyssey is gud. Also also, I wonder if anyone else has heard of Moon, one of my favorite movies about spess.

It's strange. I actually don't hate anybody. I can be annoyed by people, but I don't actually feel hatred towards them.

Sounds kinda gut. What is game called and such? Is it real or is it a concept?

I liked the movie Persepolis. And Enemy at the Gates. And Welcome to Sarajevo. And The Infidel.

Katja's Skrell Whitelist Application
Rusty Shackleford replied to a topic in Whitelist Applications Archives
Regarding the application itself, I would advise the author to read the lore that is currently written up on the server wiki. See if you can achieve a better grasp of the culture and mannerisms of the species, and flesh the character out a bit further, perhaps by outlining a defining event in their life. An application is OOC, so there's really not much need to keep their motivations a secret. -

Cancer would still exist. You can't cure cancer altogether without a full genetic rewrite of the population. And even then mutations will still show up in a generation or two and it'll retake once again. Also, being in a low-gravity environment results in a weakened immune system, and while the station still has gravity, I imagine that it and other similar stations with simulated gravity probably won't be as effective with it as an actual planet. Also, space flu is killer, man. Shit makes you blow snot like crazy, then melts your organs, and then gibs you. Gnarly, man. ALSO Regard the spread of disease both ways when Europeans showed up in the new world. Most of the indigenous population of the Americas was wiped out by measles, and syphilis spread like wildfire in Europe. Far removed populations develop different diseases, and therefore different immunities that other populations won't have.
