  1. There could be some of that, but Earth is covered in pollution and poverty, as well as the largest portion of the human population. I think it mostly would survive off of asteroid belt mining operations and imports. But the thing of starting trends by the higher echelons on Earth could be a thing, with it being the whole capital of the Sol Alliance and humanity's homeworld and all.
  2. If you're talking about popular culture in general, I imagine that since there are tens of billions more people alive, aliens all over the place, and planets being colonized, that it's going to be widely varied, with no singular aspect taking hold with a majority. Though I do like to imagine that jumpsuits have made a comeback in the fashion world and that people wear them pretty much everywhere. But that's just me. As far as cultures on the planets go, per planet they're probably as varied as Earth's cultures are today. So while there might be an underlying "human" culture, there is no official mainstream culture. The instantaneous communication and FTL travel also plays a role, since people can traverse between planets and star systems in a matter of hours, and an extranet exists which connects all those people together through a virtual medium. So yeah, shit's varied.
  3. *sees player complaint* Hmm. Wonder what this is about. Well that seems a bit petty. Let's take a look at those spoilers. ... Huh. I suppose there's a point there. Well, at least they didn't say she had sexy buttcheeks-- Oh lawd. Well, it's only flavor text. I'm sure that they play the character in at least a somewhat believable manner-- Methinks it might be more than just your flavor text that's the problem here...
  4. Hue. They're basically the Krogan from Mass Effect with less guns and more hand-to-hand combat.
  5. The last 4 pages are just composed of 4 or so people screaming loudly through walls of text about how unbalanced the idea is, or complaining about who will have access. I don't know about you guys, but I'd like to place a vote of confidence that duck has done this before and knows what he's doing. It would be nice if you guys would give it a damn chance before devolving into the hypotheticals and condemning it prematurely.
  6. I tried.
  7. I never died, I simply camoflaged myself with the innards of my enemies. It was all an elaborate ruse!
  8. B-but... Tool-senpai... all the cat love was supposed to be for me... Hue. I support Jen being a catperson. She can RP, and I want to one of these days run into her character make terrible puns about hairballs to her.
  9. Cristof and Janet are already acquainted with each other, and would end up ignoring each other. Aaron would flirt with all of my female characters. April would try to convince everyone to partake in an orgy. Upon failing, she'd settle for Aaron's offer of a quickie in the broom closet, during which she would extract information out of him to use as blackmail material. Janet might strike up a conversation about literature with Versha, who would be in turn talking about everyone behind their backs in warble-warble language. Glitchy and Alura would stand off to the side and debate theology.
  10. I'm pretty sure the age of getting on a station ranges depending on the position, maybe averaging between late 20's and early 40's. Basically around the same ages as modern day, since schooling would take a similar amount of time in general. And Nanotrasen is a rather large producer of prosthetics, I believe. Though nobody is preventing you from making up a name of a company that would have made the prosthetics your character has, considering that most people have vastly different ideas about how they look anyway.
  11. Burn Notice Person of Interest Breaking Bad Archer Grimm Penny Dreadful The Walking Dead Mythbusters No Reservations Bizarre Foods don't judge me
  12. I want to play a baldie who goes around annoying the shit out of the aliens on the station, pulling on their tails and bopping them on their snouts.
  13. The reason I doubt you've read the lore page for Tajarans is because they've been embroiled in a bloody civil war for decades. http://aurorastation.org/wiki/index.php?title=Tajara
  14. In Bruges. "It's an inanimate fucking object!" "YOU'RE AN INANIMATE FUCKING OBJECT!"
  15. I'm pretty sure it's however the player wants to do it. IPCs and Dionaea don't have cohesive governments/nations/ethnicities/cultures. They seem to be very individualistic, much more so than any of the other races.
  16. You may want to put more work into that backstory. Also, you might want to give the our server's version of tajara lore a closer look.
  17. Tishina and I have actually already had a sit-down and resolved this issue, so yeah.
  18. Janet Fisher Alura Phillips Glitchy Versha Reltisen April Reed Aaron Houston Cristof Marmeladov
  19. The thing is, corpses don't actually burn that good. It's why investigators can identify the bodies recovered from out of control building fires and plane crashes. Generally, those corpses become unidentifiable because something else was burning along with them, something that burned gooder. Like jet fuel or heavy wood beams. Gasoline, and by extension whatever welder fuel is, would burn off fast, leaving a heavily charred and mutilated corpse, but not one that wouldn't be able to be ID'd and cloned.
  20. I say, that if you want to make cloning a bigger deal, that it should be made an even more convoluted process. That way, less time is spent dicking around with genetic powers, and more time is spent preparing the lab just in case someone bites the dust. It might also create a better sense of urgency when the dead are piling up and you need to keep the preparations going in order to get to them all. Also, there should be considerable recovery time related with dying and coming back to life. Also, it would be awesome if different methods (inb4 "pod people") were introduced, so there's not just one piece of equipment that's one size fits all, so even people with decayed brains/destroyed heads can be put back into a round in (relatively) short order. TL;DR, I like cloning and genetics, and want more to do in that department because science.
  21. I am wholeheartedly against removing cloning. I like cloning, and removing it basically removes one of my favorite jobs from the game, reducing it to simply dicking around with enzymes that do the same damn things and simply serve as a momentary diversion with no results. I think that instead cloning should involve more steps, have higher chances of failure/mutations, and require extensive care afterwards. The "wait until you get to CC" and "makes the game too easy" arguments frankly annoy the crap out of me.
