I would suggest creating a #help channel solely used for... helping people who have to ask questions and keeping #general as it is (shitposting and doing ||gnome||). While i know that theere are discordd for lesbians medbay, grayons eaters security, nerds science, chair RP cargo it would still be helpful and would increase mod and player presence on the server whilst also giving people willing to help and teach a direct outlet without necessarily redirecting new players to these barren wastelands servers. It would kind of avoid questions being buried under people doing !cats at the wrong time and me posting that webm of wide Putin.

I would like to see a system like this being implemented, some of the complaints i have seen simply ended up being wriggled out of because of the accused player's popularity or because people swarmed to defend a lost cause and resulting in the derailing of the complaint itself rendering it pointless.

You also have shown great interest in the race on the Dionae discordd which was not only, but did include, shitposting. I would also like to see a bolstering in the amount of people actively working on Dionae lore aswell as your plans to further clusters lore-wise and as a concept. I'm looking forwarding to seeing how the treepeeps will be rendered less alien-like too. I'm going to ask the same question as Caelphon, i'd like to know your plans for the clusters. I doubt you'll be able to change my mind, unless you plan on making a meme clusteryou get my full approval in that case.

The strenght of Dionae comes from the fact that literally everyone ignores how to kill them but also vacates the constantly but decides to treat the race as a stress relief whenever they get outrobusted by a slow tree who dies if you put Night Mode on the APCs in the main hallway. Imagine you wanted to play a race but everyone brought the ooc into ic and berated you for powergaming, fun no ? Might aswell stop roleplaying and play a literal meme, fun : ) Imagine you wanted to do an antag gimmick but everyone instavalided you as hard as a wizard because your race cannot be killed with paincrit and by shooting at it constantly Imagine, now, you are a sec player and the first thing you do against a Dionae antag is beat the shit out of it instead of turning off the lights. Ignoring a game mechanic instead of trying to counter it properly does not mean the mechanic itself should be removed, people already get mad that lizards beat too hard, cats go too fast and skrells can use baby-tier psionics, ants have a panacea in any k'oi-based food, IPCs take too long to die entirely, robolizards get adrenal implants and combitools but tend to forget that: Lizards get tired stupid fast, Cats break bones with 2 batons, Skrells are hemophiliac and so are Ants, IPCs sparking their legs are as good as dead, Robolizards get tired stupid fast and share the same sparking weakness as IPCs and trees get stunlocked with flashes. Might aswell make all the races reskins of humans. If you, as sec, cannot incapacitate a dionae then you should probably reconsider how you play sec because you are then very likely playing sec to kill and valid and not to incapacitate and stop people trying to kill and valid. Reconsider your choice of department. Learn to play, dionae is a race as liquid and varied as water because it can become a vessel of cultures and stories. Just because bruhmoment42069 got a whitelist back in 2018 and now plays as Licks the Rim of Pleasure doesn't mean every player is going to meme their Dionae and turn their character into a meme. By actively hating on a barely played race just because your sec character who lives in a station employing multiple races expects their security team to know a little something about the others' weaknesses you also actively discourage OOCly playing that race because it bears the scarlet letter of "powergame". Leave your vitriol in IC instead of taking it OOC and let the mods remove unsavory individuals from the community and strip incompetent and unworthy people of whitelists they probably should have not gotten in the first place and perhaps consider playing the race yourself if you think you can do a better job at roleplaying than someone else, dionae are intertwined with literally every race besides the most overplayed one, cats.

  12. I have not played with Zundy as i go to bed when he starts playing so i cannot vouch for his role of the play BUT!!! The idea of a dionae hailing from the Dominian cluster is something that thrills me as it combines my favourite human lore and my favourite race lore. I would like to see more of them and how a dominian dionae would play and react aswell as how prone they would be to showing the dominian side. The doubts i may have had have already been thoroughly cleared on the answer given to Caelphon. +1

  16. If this was to be built upon then it would be possible to create other small training holodecks or expand upon what it can do.

Since starting to teach interns i always had a problem: i needed a god damn monkey/protohuman to teach the intern how to handle real situations without doing a trial by fire immediatly by using your usual dying miner who forgot to scream over comms and thought GPSes were more of an option. As far as i know there have been plans to remove the (unused because it isn't yarr pee friendly and isn't particularly developed either) virology lab or move it to science in some nook beween a vending machine and the toilet. My proposal as to what this free (and huge) space can be used for is the following: to add a small holodeck which will use the space from the viro lab that will then hold a single scenario (that you can reload for new equipment) in which interns can safely train, be taught and practice by themselves in. -GTR: holodeck protohumans/monkeys (which despawn upon leaving the holodeck itself) that you can freely beat up withouth feeling unethical, ATKs and ABKs, body scanner and a sleeper. Aswell as IVs with maybe one or two bloodbags. -Surgery: complete with a surgical table and tray that will allow you perform surgery undiscrimnately on monkeys after properly kicking their teeth in -A small chemistry dispensenser with no chemmaster. In this small station complete with a large beaker and the machine itself filled with a phoron cartridge, you'll be able to endlessly try and try again the various recipes of your dreams without necessarily having to order new cartridges. Just reload the holodeck! And don't be a cunt by putting the chems into a syringe so it becomes immune to despawning, shit's whack and you know it, i will find you. -A small pen or a series of chairs holding the test subjects, obviously. -A plaque in honor of all the monkis and protohumans spent to train interns. I'm not giving up on this. This would greatly improve the time it takes for interns to be trained aswell as remove some of the nastier (rp wise) situations where the intern has to watch a doctor beat a monkey or a protohuman untill it goes unconscious. While it is very fun to throw monkeys into the virology express chute i'd say it is time to evolve and move on to (technically) more ethical ways of creating subjects on which the interns can train on without either looking like bloodthirsty validhunters or by throwing the intern a dying crewmember or monkey on systemic organ failure at 14% brain activity. Instead with the holodeck we can do all of these wonderful things BUT ethically and with much much much more ease of access and efficiency since a protohuman can take upwards of half an hour to arrive and having medbay littered with monkey corpses is not that ideal. I took the personal freedom to open the mapmaker and delete all items, furniture and floor inside of the virology laboratory and substituting them with holodeck floor to show you how much of a fuckoff space we'd have avaliable to do this. I then checkered the floor with linoleum to give YOU that's right, YOU the possibility to open paint and try and throw in an example of what your ideal training area in medbay would look like by just opening paint and going ham by writing what goes where and such. Feel free to cut areas off or add new ones too!

One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I have always been sort of infatuated with dionae lore after knowing about them. Not in the fact that they are misterious moreso in the fact that they have unlimited abilities when it comes to learning. The fact that they are tied in one way or another to almost every species is particularly interesting aswell, letting them be in touch and interact with an unparalelled variety of species and cultures as long as it pertains to their character. The potential that comes from developing a dionae and the amount of experiences you can tie to it is awe inducing. How quickly they can change personality based on wheter or not they have to comunicate with one another as a gestalt or directly speak and interact with people through nymphs. The fact that they can also loose their memory when splitting aswell as having their memory inevitably damaged after loosing a nymph is also a concept which has attractred me a lot since it also opens up for multiple roleplay possibilities both as an antag or as a non antag. Their position as a race in ss13 which dangles inbetween scary due to how they are still a mistery and how generally nymph-to-nymph interactions are also an opportunity to further the race on this aspect. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: First and foremost the mechanics, as obvious as it maybe as an answer. What i think primarily makes them different from humans on an RP standpoint is how they process experiences both of others and their own. A gestalt processes experiences as multiple entities comunicating with one another in the span of microseconds aswell as how they can directly understand the feelings, emotions and experiences of others by drinking the blood of those who offer theirs to them. The ability of a gestalt to become a nigh endless reservoir of experiences and knowledge is an extremely interesting concept. How they can also bond with others through coming to understand better what shaped that specific person that way makes for a very interesting opportunities and situations. Character Name: Unification of Common Beliefs Please provide a short backstory for this character: A relatively young gestalt, result of a diplomatic experiment indicted by house Volvalaad. This is one of a small sample of gestalts whose main purpose is to represent the House's prowess aswell as the dominian race's skill in the medical field, being fed the blood of the most qualified Dominian doctors. However, due to the usual dominian way of doing things and their general view on genetics the merging of the nymphs composing these gestalts was all but natural as they were handpicked amongst the best of the bunch.After being encased under the same dome for weeks under the constant scrutiny of Volvalaad scientists they were one of the few nymphs to reach an agreement and merge together, being one of the first and few gestalts to leave the dome, naming themselves Unification of Common Beliefs to celebratre this moment. Their agreement was based on the love for the profession, their sense of duty upon learning they are tasked with the mission to represent Dominia as best as they can and after the knowledge that the vast amount of knowledge given to them is only granted by the Emperor so that they may complete this task and that they have to repay this debt by taking upon themselves this task. They may find bickering between eachother on the proper steps to take when treating a patient however the gestalt becomes highly proficient upon agreeing on the proper course of action when treating a patient. All of the nymphs composing the Gestalt take great pride in their skills, the task they have been entrusted with and how it is instrumental to furthering the wellness of both their homeland, serving the emperor by being humble heralds of both the Dionae race aswell as the dominian race's strenghts and almost a representation of how the dominians are a noble and proud race brough together by a higher ideal. Minor disagreements are bound to happen amongst professionals but their teamwork and proficiency like with any team of practicioners is a also a representation of how through unity even the worst of situations can be overcome when proper comunication and knowledge are put together... they just have to do it. What do you like about this character? While the idea of a Gestalt being quite literally multiple nymphs working together and the concept of this character came out of this small funny mental image i had of a bunch of nymphs wearing nurse hats, surgical hats and tiny nitrile gloves trying to save another nymph and they are all bickering on what to do and who does what with very little coordination, much like a real medbay : ^ ). However i also wanted to incorporate this conept in a realistic way coupling it with the Dominian lore i am so in love with due to its depth and complexity which is, in my opinion, not used by too many characters i have met. Of course this dionae won't be a stereotypical Dominian more akin to a caricature but they will obviously share common beliefs with dominian culture aswell since they had assimilated dominian history and beliefs from the blood of the donating medical practicioners. This may even open more and more opportunities as i intend to roleplay the nymphs more than the gestalt. Although i am still working on a small draft that goes in depth on how each Nymph's personality. How would you rate your role-playing ability?: around a 5 to 5 1/2 Notes: I do intend to also create a small list of different personalities attached to each nymph (mainly to keep track of them for myself as i get used more and more to playing the character) aswell as their own names personal names based on their personalities. These names will then be written in the Gestalt's medical records/employment records, i still am debating as to what role they will cover in the medical bay but it will likely be Surgeon or Physician as those are the roles i am the most familiar with, currently. The gestalt may at times take some time off to pray to the emperor or even (although i don't think i'll do it) take turns to each go pray at the church by splitting. I'm currently working on making more and more examples on how the nymphs would bicker with eachother both in Me" and Say" (likely in rootsong, most of the time) although i'll have to calibrate it to the various personalities contained in each nymph, of course i won't just make them split randomly or insult eachother for no reason. I'll put this here so the edit tab stops looking like a mess: This will also benefit more or less all of the EMTs or anyone responding to an emergency as they will be able to drag and carry more than a single person at once if multiples are injuried. It will also let the EMTs themselves outsource the job to someone else while they take care of on-the-field minor injuries and making sure at the same time that everyone can be dragged safely back to medbay. The first person that says: "Give them tramadol and tell them to walk it off" will have their erp tokens revoked.

Now, one of the major issues i've been having as a doctor (in the cases i am lacking an EMT) is that if i were to forget a roller bed (which i admittedly shouldn't, of course) and if i were to get to the place where the injuried was located i would then have to look for an office chair in order to both avoid the slowdown given from dragging bodies, the shitty rp that would come out of me actually dragging someone with 2 broken legs and (and this is the less common as i always have kits on me) being simply unable to drag someone because it would just make the wounds open and bleed or bleed even more. Now on to fireman carry. Fireman carry is basically using your character as an roller bed/office chair, you'd be able to grab yellow/blue (i am more for blue) someone with both hands (this is speculation), drag them on to your sprite and start the progress bar at the end of which the person in question would be then loaded on to your shoulders (horizontally/vertically). When in this state the person on your back won't have wounds reopened/worsened by dragging, they won't feel pain from moving (shrapnel in the limb/broken bones moving). This does also let anyone with no immediatly accessible office chair or roller bed to simply carry their wounded friends for them. After having someone on your back you could then, maybe, be able to throw them from that state in some epic wrestling style or something since you can already throw people on blue grab if you are holding them with both hands. For all of you egirls and HRPers uwu and stuff, it will also open for some epic roleplay where you carry your friends/girlfriends/boyfriends ingame on your back and have fun and other stupid and useless shit that benefits none ever. I would like for some feedback if possible but i'd also like to give some premade answers to the questions and doubts that may come up: Q: But this makes EMT useless A: Incorrect, fireman carry will slow you down, you can only carry one person (ideally) at a time on your back. It is also much slower to deploy of a roller bed or stasis bag/bodybag as it requires you to grab -> upgrade the grab -> drag the sprite of the person on your own -> wait for the bar to be over and only THEN actually carry the person with the fireman carry benefits (human roller bed) Q: But why would someone ever do something like that ? Could 7ft tall behemots like vaurcae be dragged by the 1,50m tall human ? A: That's a very tricky question, it makes very little sense but you could tie it to the fact that when loved ones are in danger people enter hulk mode. Q: How does this benefit RP ? A: You'd have instances where your best friend uwu will save you by dragging you through the fire and the flames on their back without having to depserately wait for an EMT and make their jobs easier, aswell as not having to depserately look for the closest thing on wheels to avoid having you dying of blood loss by the time you manage to reach the elevator Q: Why would anyone ever call an EMT over just carrying their buddy spilling all over on their backs and carrying them to medbay ? A: First and foremost: RP, if calling a paramedic or a doctor when your friend has their brain oozing out of his/her nostrils then you have poor RP sense or just don't value enough their life or are, as you sort of should, acting out of panic and instinc. Remember that EMTs and Doctors and all of that are still the only ones owning the the proper equipment to actually fix your buddy. You are just a middleman and are making someone else's job easier by making the problem fixable much faster. Fireman carry will only bypass pain caused by broken bones/moving shrapnel, not the pain inflicted by the actual wounds. tl;dr : fireman carry lets you carry people with a slowdown as if you were dragging a body but without opening the wounds/worsening them aswell as avoiding pain caused by moving bone shard/bullet shrapnel and do super fun pool party shenainingans edits: -added the TLD;DR -added the edits -fixed typos, poor syntax, poor grammar

While i am all for killing the elderly and give a brighter future for newer generations i think the main problem with viro is how slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow it is and it being RNG reliant also makes it painfully frustrating.
