  1. Alright, I was fooled by this (and other "worn" hats and suits): I retract my concerns. My bad.Ignore this.
  2. I would like to inquiry, why would anyone "ask" about a simple, red hat? Isn't just a simple hat, just worn-out? Nothing extraordinary, right? I wonder, is there a point in applying for normal items, just worn-out?
  3. PM'd. Again.
  4. ((Nope, not canon. That was a nuke round, two nuke operatives died, leaving me with a hostage. After getting lost in space, I used derelict's rail gun to launch us back to the station/asteroid. I then, tried to negotiate with ERT, but one of them tried to throwbaton me, which is pretty bad, IMHO. Also, explosive implant'ery. So, non-canon, I will add that to the first post.))
  5. http://aurorastation.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=3999 I don't expect anything to happen, just wanted to share.
  6. Receiving anonymous connection. Connected. Relaying. ((So, a nuke round. A really fun one. Deaths are not canon.))
  7. I just... Don't get it? Bandage rolls, ointment, splints, you can get these from a MedPlus (or however its called). Stasis bags, these are supposed to be sort of rare, I think. Only use them when inaprovaline won't do the work of keeping a patient alive. Pills and bottles, it may make chemistry obsolete. Imagine a roboticist arriving with two beakers full of sulphuric acid and odysseus boards, because a scientist is rarely here, and they need to be ready to make mechs right now. Also, one unit of anything is useless, it's far too small dose or the patient will heal on his own, and full bottles of things are a little too much, without chemistry. I think you are taking this too seriously, as a EMT, all you need is a hardsuit, a stretcher, bandage, ointment, and a box of inaprovaline injectors. SS13 has always been about finding a way to achieve your goals, no cryo? Dylovene+Inaprovaline, using a sleeper. No power in the medbay? Use traditional methods: bandages, ointment and some tea. No medicines at all? Bother botany and the kitchen. No hand-scanners or medHUD's? Examine, and actually talk with the patient. No chemistry? Ask the HoP, the AI or a borg to let someone qualified do some chemistry. Everything's possible, you just need to know how.
  8. So, she just knows the most useful stuff to outrobust everyone, including the AI, nuke ops and their grandmothers. You don't seem to understand. You don't have a choice to lie down and die or kill everyone standing on your way. You can also do something in-between, like assist with and coordinate the evacuation to one of the outposts, while also trying to combat the AI, giving it an ultimatum, "you become neutral/help us, or you die". Or, you may also try to do something else than outrobusting them. You may actually become a hostage, or try to talk the nuke op into saving the crew by sacrificing yourself, I'm sure a nuke op would like to sell a IPC RD as a slave to some slave trading scum. Or, you may try to negotiate or to actually give up. If half of the security is dead, armoury is compromised, and the AI has been subverted, I can't seem to understand why a sane person would try to fight the overwhelming and more powerful enemy. So, how is she different than a normal human? What is the point of playing a IPC? So, this is a perfect circumstance to talk about this, a thread where everyone can express their opinions. What a suprise, it's like it's a public forum. Yes, on the picture of the logs I provided, I consider that taunting. Yes, a head of staff is obligated to defend the station, but also the crew. The crew repeatedly tried to surrender, retaliate, evacuate to the outpost, stop you from fighting the ops and actually try to like, not die. Myself included. It is debatable. However, I disagree. In my entire security career, I was always being ordered to hand the hardsuit to engineering and have them repair it. I imagine science being a more theoretical-science-thing, when engineering are the ones that actually build and construct stuff. You don't seem to understand. To outrobust someone, or to shot yourself in the knee are not the only choices. You can do something in-between, and actually involve someone in your actions, rather to go on a one-man AI/nuke validhunt. I am not trying to get you banned, I would like you to tone it all down, at least.
  9. Just to add to the date/time. I started logging at "log 2015-10-18 (9 07 pm)", that was somewhere between the end of a round before the nuke. I was ghosting around during the nuke where Katelynn was powergaming. Katelynn was basically powergaming, validhunting, playing to win. The crew was willing to surrender, to let the ops do what they want, to retaliate, and to step back. Katelynn was just taunting and hunting syndies with their own gear, constructing new walls, thermiting existing ones, repairing hardsuits, lasering the AI, healing herself with nanopaste she made by herself. Does the player, and the character know when to stop? Does the character have any flaws, or disadvantages? Is Katelynn at least something else than a human, that acts like a human, talks like a human, looks like a human, but is actually an IPC because of some weird incident (+/- abusing the whitelist to gain mechanical advantage)? What really bothers me, the round just before the nuke: I really thought that Katelynn changed, I was wrong. And during the nuke (+some ghostly gal summing it up): That is like, . Lying on the deatchat, then constantly taunting nuke ops while running with syndicate weaponry and thermite, lasering the AI.
  10. Updated.
  11. Reporting Personnel: Zuleika Xrimqil-loix Rank of Reporting Personnel: Captain Personnel Involved: Jun Ivanova, Security Officer; Jack Thomas, CMO Time of Incident: The whole shift (started logging on 'log 2015-10-15 (6 22 pm)') Location of Incident: The whole station, mainly medbay and maintenance near the gravity generator. Nature of Incident: []Workplace Hazard [X]Accident/Injury []Destruction of Property [X]Neglect of Duty []Harassment []Assault [X]Misconduct [X]Other - Self-harm, suicidal tendencies. Overview of the Incident: Self-harm in the maintenance tunnel of the gravity generator. Later, a forensics investigation confirmed that a shard of glass was used by Ivanova to harm herself. No crewmember reported otherwise. CMO Jack Thomas was claiming that he was talking for some part of the shift with officer Ivanova, trying to deal with her suicidal tendencies. After Ivanova's self-harm incident, Thomas was dealing with her, treating her injuries. That is unacceptable, a security officer should not ignore their duties, to injure themselves. I request a background check, and a psychical evaluation. Did you report it to a Head of Staff or IAA? If so, who?: Negative. Additional notes: Myself, captain, was busy with overseeing the station. My understanding of the situation is limited. Contacting CMO, Jack Thomas before running an investigation is advised.
  12. Without a way to turn off the in-game music, a heavy -1 from me. I hate to have my own music overlap with the game music.
  13. Last time I checked, Essel wasn't just screaming "fuck humans" and "glass earth" over and over. She was doing it in (IMHO) a more subtle and immersive way. But, I haven't seen Essel or Lyar play, or roleplayed with them lately, so things might have been changed. But, I also think that Meowy's might be stepping over the line a little, their IC and OOC behavior is (IMO) not much different than of baldies that scream "hitler did nothing wrong", "fuck catbeasts" and "shitcurity".
  14. ...Is this application a joke? >Be 14 years old. Join "space military". >What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little space catbeast? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my space class in the Space Navy Space Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret space raids on space Adhomai, and I have over 300 confirmed space syndie kills. All on the space NSS Aurora I was assigned to. Everything's canon. http://[/url] >Numerous awards. Maybe a little too humble? So, what was his non-professional career? Is he also a space pirate, space smuggler and a space space syndicate space agent? >Robustness. Is this even a word, IC-ly? Is this even possible? Am I doing this right? And his name is... ...I'm not sure if a head of security should act like this. Isn't use of excessive violence prohibited because of loyalty implants, and also NT's PR? I believe, that being a whitelisted player is something else/more than just not being a dick in OOC. It's about keeping players in round, providing them with leadership, coordinating with your subordinates and other heads of staff, etc. I find this funny, because this application gave me top kek. In all seriousness, I would really suggest retracting (withdrawing) this application, passively observing people play heads of staff, making a new, more realistic/immersive character, and finally applying for this again, a month or so later.
  15. @Syndiekate Now, I fail to understand what exactly do you want (in gameplay/in-game terms). Do you want branded limbs? That can be easily achieved by flavor text, without limiting people with only five options to choose from. Would you like a fancy limb-only-extra-flavor text? This can also be achieved with the use of flavor text. However, psychical design/different looks/another set of sprites is a entirely different thing. Because of how our IPC's/shells work alongside of our human prothesis's. I think, humans work exactly like how our IPC's work, they just can't change their torso, groin, and heads, I believe that it's possible to add another set of sprites: limbs for everyone, limbs+head+torso+groin for IPC's. But, I'm not a coder, not even in a little. That's just how I think it works, after taking a look at both IPC and human character setup screen.
  16. And there are also people who may not, or may be "retards", but lie somewhere between the "complete retardness" and decent officers. Not bannable, nothing really can be done about them; may be illiterate or not fond of corporate regulations. You can see that they are bad (in general, objective sense) after observing their character just for a minute; you can't reallyahelp until they do something terrible-bad. Keep in mind that job-bans can't be handed out like candy. Also, it's easier to remove one player's security whitelist than it is to job-ban ten players. Some of the "terrible" players will already be filtered out by the whitelist. Life's not just white or black. There are shades of stuff, or something. Also, my earlier post on the matter: http://aurorastation.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=3779&start=20#p37520
  17. Except, one thing. Aren't fully customisable limbs (+flavor text) much better than a few brands you can choose from? Please stop.
  18. I don't think so, considering that your "dionaea ilustration" is just not right, dioneas are tree-like pile of dioneas bound together to form a bigger organism, not a green human with leaves. The backstory, too. In our dionea lore page, there's never mentioned that dioneas have families. This could as well be a human, or tajaran backstory.
  19. So... Can we at least have the "atmos simulation"/"burn test" changed to a more appropriate name, like "ATMOS TEST DON'T CLICK UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING" or something similar?
  20. I wouldn't just limit it to Engineers. Perchance putting one inside the Requests Console in every department? That way, it's not only Engineers that can call em. Regular staff can make the discretionary call of whether to call a Drone (minor problem: floor tiles, lightbulbs) or major problems requiring Borgs or full on Engineers. I know, drones are efficient little things, that can repair, modify and improve the station faster and better than borgs and proper engineers. But, I would still want to call an engineer, chat for a while, maybe tell a joke, than to call a mindless and silent drone that cannot even ping at me because of its laws. I think you are trying to make drones playable, trying too hard.
  21. Hey, hey, I didn't wanted to insult or attack you. If that seemed like I did, apologies. We've obviously never played a game together before for you to make those sorts of comments, sir. The item isn't actually called "suspicious turtleneck" either; if you'd bothered to read the original post (you clearly didn't.) But, item's description ("A loose-fitting turtleneck, common among borderworld pilots and criminals. One criminal in particular is missing his, apparently.") really implies that Jaylor is a criminal or just a suspicious individual. And, no, I have not played a game together with you, probably because of timezones and stuff. Really? Could you give me a list of names out of the approximately 50+ unique "cargonians" and others that claim to be ex-pirates? Because I'm starting to think you're using hyperbole as a means to an end, rather than simply looking at the application for what it is. No, I'm not going to give anyone a list of names. Yes, that was a hyperbole. No, I don't want to bring your application to an end or disapproval. I was just trying to provide feedback, and/or criticism. But, it's not up to me to deny or approve this.
  22. Arkin is the most competent (competentest?) engineer I was recently seeing. Always doing what he is supposed to do, using his headset correctly (saying over what he's doing; generally communicating, something people rarely are doing), messaging my captain about what's happening in engineering, being helpful and such, and being a great and experienced engineer, at the very least. The application itself is well written and with extensive answers to questions, backstory is alright, too. I see no reason for this to be denied, I'm sure it would be pleasure to work along Weaver.

    Socks!

As both sides are taking this too serious, half of the people in here are screaming about how socks and thighhighs are bad and fetishist, and others are just trying to convince others how socks are just socks and that they cannot hurt anyone. I just want to ask, why are socks so important? You won't even see them 80% of the time, because characters are not always naked and are not wearing dresses all the time. As I already said, is it worth to code it in?
  24. What I think. Please, it may be a little too passive aggressive or rant-ey. So, are you going to make Jaylor 'suspicious and shady' the easier way? There are characters that are members of a cult of some sort, but are not wearing cult robes all the time ("because records and flavor text is not enough" to make them cult-like). I mean, you probably should make your character act 'suspicious' and 'shady', having 'knuckle dusters' and literally 'suspicious turtleneck' might be trying to scream "oh, look how suspicious my character is; security, arrest me". Also, "for those who haven't gotten the hint already" have you considered that people just simply don't care? I mean, half of all the cargonians out there are ex-pirates, not to mention the other departments.
  25. Why I dislike peaceful antags? I have no idea on what the hell should I be doing to make the round interesting for everyone, without breaking my character/immersions/rules. Wizard, your usual peace-wizard: cannot go back to their homeland because of vox/whatever attacking it, teleported to the station because of a bluespace accident, no ID's or any official documents, you better spend five minutes trying to find out wizard's name. Usual repetitive talk with the wizard about their name and things, fax to CC, and usually giving them a 'refugee' or 'visitor' ID. Without CC's answer, no way I'm going to let the teleporting intruder do as he wishes just because 'peaceful'. Changeling, same as a non-peaceful changeling, but with less straightjacketing, cuffing and killing. "Science, take over", no way I'm going to let that arm-bladey, identity changing 'genetic disaster' walk around the station just because 'peaceful'. Traitor, why. "Syndiecate is holding my family hostage, help". Brig, probably. I will at least try to give science their traitory items, for them to research illegal stuff and to not have them dying out of boredom. Nuke ops/Vox, 'we are traders'. This is NT-owned piece of space, why would anyone let you walk aboard the station? Are you saying that you just slipped past Icarus, and other ships, unnoticed? As already said, if you want to be a peaceful antag, have at least a plan or a gimmick, please. Ahelp, and think of something with admins. Just remember that slapping a pair of bunny ears or a clown suit on a normal wizard will not make the entire round different, and nuke ops at least need something to trade with, if they took the peaceful route. EDIT: Edited after Jackboot's reply.
