  1. The OOC stuff is good, and the player is capable of playing a head of staff. Now, about the character. Jason Finn is one of the most realistic/immersive characters on Aurora I saw. He's normal, that's what he is, he is not a snowflake of some sort, he is showing human emotions, such as fear, and actually is involved in some relationships, not only romantic ones. He's cheerful and nice, whether he is a bartender, a chef or a nursing intern. I wish I had some more time to roleplay with him. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about Enzo Kryll. However, I think that Jason shouldn't be a CMO. As far as I am aware, he's not really 'brave', and overall competent. I understand, express aging, but I just don't see it. But, I am sure that Jason would be a pretty good head of personnel. I believe that he would talk with the crew about their problems and issues, instead of just calling security, he would be the listener, and the conflict resolver. All my +1, through.
  2. Kix had a posi-brain? I thought she had a MMI of some sort. Once, she said to one of my characters that she's 5% organic. Anyway, I don't think I saw Kix behave like a IPC in any way, at all. So, making a separate character would be nothing, but good. Also, what will happen to Mix? She's Kix's synthetic sister, right?

  4. Hold on, that's a rather boring story. So, my first time was a usual one, a naked baldie on paradise/hippie, wrecking his face with a jumpsuit, before learning how to put on a jumpsuit. So, some time later, I joined Aurora. I was a security officer, without flavor text, or records. I joined late, just before a crew transfer or an emergency shuttle, I thought that rounds are basically a groundhog day, so when the round ends with an emergency shuttle, your character will stay there forever, until the station runs out of air. I started hitting a random security officer, and got hit by a truck named "EoR grief week ban" and "heads of staff ban". I don't know why, but that's what I think happened. I was lurking forums, and found out that its nice in here, and stuff. Decided to wait some time, and come back. During one changeling round, I was brought to processing, in the old-red-brig, because I assaulted someone. There was no one to actually investigate my stuff, and properly sentence me, so I had to stay for a whole hour. And someone had to watch me. I was roleplaying (or trying to) a sobbing, scared chemist, that tried to sedate Samantha Mason with a syringe, but was caught due to my un-robustness. Hopefully, there was that one security officer, that decided to watch over my character. They even told me a story about life, and how important it is to not give up, and stuff. I don't really remember much about it, but I am sure that the security officer made me stay on the server for longer, and that there are people who care about new players and who care about non-regular, usual players. That security officer was Skull's Kiberly Dawkins. It made me stay on Aurora. Later, I got some warnings about ganking, and decided to not play antagonistic roles ever again. I may come back to it some time in the future. And I was pretty scared about applying for a head of staff whitelist, because in the 'preferences' screen, all head of staff roles were crossed out, with big 'banned' words. I also tried to stick to a not gimmicky, not interesting, boring android. With no unusual accents, or a snowflakey backstory. That's how Graphite happened. I was also a forum lurker for some time, slowly getting courage to speak up, and express my opinion. Also, I had a non-lesbian, stuttering, underage, girly medbay chemist. Also, I am not really happy that I had no chance to roleplay enough with some wonderfully done characters. Mainly, with Elena Raschnikova and Haruspex. Also, I am not-native english speaker. It's pretty hard for me to play SS13 (but easier than a year ago), and I always have google translator opened in my google chrome. I'm also from Poland, that battle scarred land between Russia and Germany. I also watched some cool players leave, and some other cool players join. It's pretty sad. Now, I am a happy Aurora player (Aurorian?). In year's january, I will be an Aurora player for a long, whole year.

  6. We /NEED/ something shocking, because we're way too competitive. Something that makes us forget about anything but the will to survive on our own. (...) We need that kind of feeling in our events. Something that has a healthbar so that it's realistic, physical and much more engaging, unlike Narsie, but with such powerful abilities that any attempts to bring down that healthbar are considered fruitless. Yes. This^. Yes. I still see those "nurses with welders", security officers that do not fear anything, people disregarding that perfect killer traitor, or a changeling and just rushing them, and other stuff, you get the idea. Basically, no fear-rp. This, too. Last event I took part in, I was picked to play a deadly killing machine, a night-black creature that should be feared. People were also killed by those creatures. What the crew did? A female, puny, little lesbian (not joking) just started shooting at me with her laser gun, ignoring the fact that I just almost killed her (probably) co-lesbian. Fear rp? Nope. Also, all of you against this idea really think that these aliens will just rush the station, powergaming the layout, killing everyone in the first five minutes? IMHO that's not how it should happen, aliens should slowly infest the station, killing only those that directly attacking them, or being a threat. The crew, should barricade and fortify their shit, and maybe even do some guerrilla warfare. I would love to see a medbay raid, with the crew reclaiming it with flamethrowers, burning weeds and maybe even one of the attackers dying in the process. Doesn't it sound better than powergaming crew burning under-powered aliens with welders and other stuff? Edit: Yes, I was talking about the event Tenenza's talking about, under my post.

  8. Self antaging and other stuff aside, if this would be somehow implemented, I see lots of ways it could be abused. If they had these fancy ID's, every round would escalate from "hey you are not on the crew manifest" to "what is this pda, is this the id, are you a syndiecat?" in the first five minutes into the round. Sure, you could give them a random job, but how would this be different from a normal antag? Why even have 'professional criminals', when you can just turn on your antag preference on? Also, chucklefucks that would use this as a excuse to welderbomb.
  9. Where's Jamison Jason Stamos, the HoS? Murphy was included in the list of your character names this time, at least. Anyway, Tobias is a fairly competent research director that actually cares about borgs and AI's. Samuel is a good head of personnel, too. Saul is a skilled engineer and chief engineer. Murphy is a good AI, cares about the crew and his borgs, tries to pull off gimmicks during malfAI's, and is generally good AI, without nothing to complain about. I did not interacted enough the rest to tell how good, or bad they are. About Nahar Isra, his backstory is okay, could have been a little more descriptive or detailed, but that couldn't be possible without making him a half-borg space war veteran, or bringing some unnecessary "beatings about the bush" and other bullshit. It's just a normal, usual cat, and I believe that Senpai can handle roleplaying as Nahar. +1
  10. I was always wondering, why there are no semi-moderated gamemodes? Small number of players (aliens) sacrificing admin-independency of their gameplay to provide fun to the other majory of players? So, aliens would build a nest, with admin-spawned larvaes. They would evolve, and be ordered to defend their nest. Then, overpowered aliens (hunters, crushers, praetorians and other) would attack the part of the station an event host orders them to attack. In short, the queen is event host that's ghosting. The crew could have their fear-rp and stuff. And aliens would effectively infest the station with weeds and facehuggers. We could avoid egg-spamming, aliens being too powerfull and killing without any roleplay in this admin-controlled way. Also, what is Sue doing, that's more important than a suggestion at least 7 people agree with? Could we be informed, at least?
  11. Allison Kingsbury - The one that's long forgotten. Failure. Wulf Schassner - The cool security officer. Augumented, bearded. Graphite - The android. Undescribed. Anthracite - The pAI. Excited. Lindsie Vince - The middle aged nurse. Tired of work. Lavonne Daveiga - The officer that does not care. Enjoyed her various apprentice courses, as security is usually overstaffed. Sybilla Savill - The aging scientist. Would want someone to escape from everyday science work with. Mya Planchart - The polite cadet. Refrains from violence. Vexillarius - The efficient warden. Keeps his prisoners, brig and records in order. Comitisse - The asshole'y quartermaster. Does care about paperwork. Nutrice - The nurse and the CMO. Only wants to treat your injuries, nothing much more. Inquisitor - The modern detective. Does the bare minimum to not lose his job, and dislikes "Uselessness", his gun. Opifex - The not-operative. Maybe an engineer. Romaine Blanchart - The head of personnel. Tries to be cool. Zuleika Xrimqil-loix - Captain. Squishy. Yvette Xrimqil-loix - Officer. Squishy. A new age. Grap..Null - Null. Grap..Schist - Nurse. Grap..Violari - Officer. Grap..Andalusite - AI. Grap..Diopsid - pAI. Grap..Chrysopras - Technician. Grap..Iolite - Android. Grap..Aventur - ? Grap..Agate - ? Suzette Corucci - Detective. Artifact ARGOS-CCCIII - IPC.
  12. Just going to add something. I don't think that people are freaking about genetics in general, but about telescience telekinesis. You can goof around, without leaving any fingerprints. And you can almost get away with it. You were messing with tech storage, or maybe threw bartender's shotgun down disposals? Doesn't matter, blame it on a random assistant. If anyone saw you using your powers, they will need to think of some bullshit like "I saw you fiddling with your hand, must have been telekinesis". Telekinesis is the most problematic power, really. No matter how hulk would be overpowered, you have certainty that he only smashed a couple of walls, and nothing more. With telekinesis, there's no guarantee. And people will suspicious and distrustful.
  13. Well, after some passive observation on InquisitorJohn playing Echoes's, I can safely say that the player in question holds a high standard of roleplay. They are using /me emotes and generally being a good roleplayer. However, I still don't see a dioneas being good CMO's, as sometimes speed is needed in critical situations. +1, through
  14. Well, Aaron Hawkins is the damn miner, Dimah Akhatov and Raniyah Al-Hamdani are okay. Yinzr is too robust, serious and dick-lizardish, I was robusted by him a few times, without really any roleplay. I generally dislike Yinzr. But, Luctus is a great borg. Once, I remember that we had a long, 30-60 minutes long conversation about borg ethics, with a conclusion that borgs are people, but not humans, or crew. It was a really fun experience, and I fully support this application (I just hope Alber will not make any IPC characters that will look and act exactly like a catbeast, and use their taser immunity and damage resistance to robust antags). Ioannis, another fellow synthetic unit that my IPC characters would try to interact during their free time. +1
  15. I am against it, we already have unoriginal IPC's that look, talk and act exactly like their organic counterparts. If IPC's could select alien race's languages, what would this encourage? Another tajaras, that secretly are IPC's? Or normal TV-heads that know alien languages for no reason? But, I'm all for race indicators when examining. We already have IPC's that look, talk and act exactly like their organic counterparts. There was an incident, when one of those security IPC's was attacked by nuke ops with tasers. Did not went well for ops.
  16. "I'd like to see some case scenarios where this camera thing caused total failure of an antag's plan." Okay. Once, I got emagged as a borg, by a roboticist. We tried to loot the vault, but the AI was 'randomly' just looking at the vault. Security quickly assumed that I was rogue, and one officer kept watching me through my camera. I just wanted to escape the station with the roboticist, but I failed because they knew exactly where I was at any moment. Things went in those explody ways, with security cyborgs having laser rifles, and fueltanks just standing there, waiting to be shot at. Later, I was shot with ion rifles. Repeatedly. And with revolvers loaded with lethal ammunition. So, yeah. "when hacked have very dangerous weapons" That's only sec-borgs. Engineering borgs get a stun baton, and other modules are rarely played and/or have useless emagg-weapons. "ion rifle doesn't do much against them" It's one-hit long-stun. And you don't even need to hit the borg, just aim somewhere near it, as ion rifle 'ions' things in a fairly big area. "EMPs are not as useful as they could be", I never actually saw someone use a EMP on borgs. "a flash only really works if the borg isn't careful or you gang up on it", that's also one-hit long-stun. You get flashed, you lose. Flash really works on anything, besides security borgs, as they have tasers. "Borgs are already all access machines that don't have paincrit, are fairly good at soaking up raw damage, work in any environment and when hacked have very dangerous weapons." Borgs still have a law 4, survive. Borgs shouldn't really rambo anything, because NT synthetic units are expensive and such. And even if they are rogue, just grab an ion rifle, or ask the RD to shut it down. I can't count how many times I was flash-spammed or locked down and forgotten for the rest of the round as a borg. So, yes. I agree with Eliot's suggestion.
  17. Hey, everything's nice, answers on those questions are long enough and quite descriptive. I see no reason to not '+1' this application, but... Are you sure a dionea CMO is a good idea? Unless you want to become a hyperzine drug dealer, with their slowness I believe it will not be too good. I mean, dionea's usually talk slow, and talking may be needed to command and coordinate the medbay, and in the absence of other heads, sometimes even the station. And yeah, dionea's slow-walking. You don't want your patient to die, because a short walk from medbay's lobby to body scanner, and then to the operating theatre was 30 seconds too long. And what if someone wants you in the bridge? Don't you think dionea CMO is a bad idea? I can't really support this until you pick another character for your head of staff application.
  18. Joel Reeves, a really good bartender, listening to others, while telling stories by himself. Was fun to interact during deadhours as my quartermaster. Just change the name, or I will imagine a duck every time I will see Quenneck ;_; +1
  19. I did not really interact with anyone besides Elisa. But from that few times I did, as Vex, those were hours of talking in person, with Elisa having a very good backstory, and such. I also like how Leaves is dependent on others, with its changing personality. Well formatted app, fairly good backstory, +1
  20. I would love this, especially the mech-thing. And balance is not a problem with only three mounts, and this really shows how borgs are designed to do one/two/three particular things, not much more. I like how "Advanced Trauma Kit" makes medical borgs less useless than they are now. "Chemical Manipulation Module" - when you need a chemist borg to give you some acid for boards (and can't access the outpost for some reason). I also like how a medical borg can change from a "constantly-moving-field-EMT" to "medbay-never-leaving-nurse" with just one module changed. Or how you can make an assassin droid, with only a emagg, "Faraday Cage", "Rapid Light Compensation Circuit" and a "Weapon Mount" (with some researching). Want a Odysseus with just three modules? "Portable Sleeper", "Chemical Manipulation Module" (for the syringe gun, don't forget to ask RnD for one) and a "Cockpit". Want a Ripley? "Rock Crushing Kit", "Crate Holder" and a "Cockpit". Add a "PACMan Generator" so you can recharge it with things you mine. Just don't forget to ask RnD for a drill, because you need to attach one to your mining tool mount. Maybe, at the start of the round there's no roboticists, nor scientists? Why not sacrifice one borg and make him select "Synthetics Assembly Toolkit", "Research and Development Toolkit" and "Advanced Sport Multifunction Tool Arm", because why not? You remember that suggestion about making a mech that could handle explosives? Maybe, you need a bomb-defusing robot? " Standard Toolkit" (to defuse), "Crate Holder" (to transport to a safe place) and a "Drone Remote" (so no one will get hurt)? You can even construct a drone remote control console in warden's office, so he can defuse bombs from his own office. Engineers need some help, because someone is making lots of breaches and exploding the station? Doable. Need a synthetic warden? Doable. Chief? Bartender? A fecking basketball player? Doable. Maybe you want to build an independent outpost filled with only-borgs? One robotics-research borg, one miner-engineer borg, one security borg, and you can make them build even more posibrains with RnD. And that was just with three starting mount points. Imagine the possibilities!
  21. Reporting Personnel: Comitisse Rank of Reporting Personnel: Quartermaster Personnel Involved: Everyone present during that shift. Time of Incident: 2457-08-20, around 20:26 (GMT) Location of Incident: Departures area, crew transfer shuttle. Nature of Incident: [X]Workplace Hazard [X]Accident/Injury [X]Destruction of Property [X]Neglect of Duty []Harassment []Assault [X]Misconduct [X]Other: killing (probably) every organic that was not on the shuttle (in departures area), venting departures area, destroying my IPĀ© chassis Overview of the Incident: After the crew transfer shuttle docked with the station, due to unknown reasons station-side docking port wasn't closing. (Assuming that) command staff currently present decided to force the shuttle to depart, resulting in departures area (with docking port airlocks still not closed) to be vented, and therefore rupturing lungs of, and killing NT employees that didn't board the shuttle. Of course, that happened after I warned command staff and everyone already on the shuttle, that launching the shuttle will vent the station and kill us all. Thanks to cloud-saving technology and bluespace-streaming, my positronic personality could be recovered. I demand a formal apology, a monetary compensation and contracts termination of command staff present during the accident. Did you report it to a Head of Staff or IAA? If so, who?: No. It was the end of the shift, and I died, sort of. Additional notes: I took a picture of my crew manifest, just before my IPC body stopped functioning. And a recording of what I saw and heard during venting of the whole departures area. Further investigation is required.
  22. First, you might want to link the complaint about Techno in here, as it is related. Second, "This is Garn's second staff complaint about them making questionable decision in a very short time. Something to consider." It's first real complaint about him, I think. As my complaint against Garn was resolved one/two hours after I submitted it, and Contextual's complaint is already resolved (sort of) on ban request on Ffrances. Third, I don't understand something. Was Kaipov an antag? Was Keener an antag? I don't see a way this would be "valid", with an antag killing an innocent, it wouldn't be okay because of lack or RP. With innocent (detective) killing an antagg, it wouldn't be okay because of lack of RP and killing as non-antag security officer.
  23. I was playing the nurse who took you to the medbay for cloning. Victor Kaipov told me your location, after I asked him. So, yeah. If he told me where your body was, why would he kill you before "without any role play"?
  24. I just tried to play a good warden, with shouting over comms how prisoners are doing (when releasing and incarcerating them), properly processing and brigging them, updating records, keeping track of evidence, prisoners, weapons from the armoury, officers's locations, and generally being "professional". I now understand that I may have been too overzealous as Vex. Thank you for your opinion, honesty is never unwanted. And yes, these insults were a bit too rough. Indeed. That is a good explanation. Thank you. Alright. That is a good explanation and reasoning, much, much better than "i understand that but its not a good enough reason im sorry". After reconsideration, I now know that I did not provided Garnascus with good reasoning, and that a mix of overreaction and knowledge of only one side of the conflict seized me. I will try to improve my character. An admin/forum moderator may now "leave it open for some time, and then lock and archive it".
  25. BYOND Key: Dreamixpl Staff BYOND Key: Garnascus Reason for complaint: Inappropriate assessment of the situation. I am displeased with Garnascus not giving me a permission to suicide. As I earlier said, "it could be a great RP opportunity for them to understand what they did wrong, and for the HoS to understand that they were really incompetent". Evidence/logs/etc: In a spoiler, only logs from my PM's with Garnascus. I highlighted underlined the most importants PM's. For some reason, I cannot underline/bold-text only a part of these logs, when I try, everything bolds/underlines. My comments written after the round are double bracketed. Additional remarks: Also, if "Suicide is generally a NO, unless you have a believable reason for it and do it in a realistic way" what would be a good reason to kill my character? A SSL-class drama? Keep in mind that it is not a complaint about Josh or Jennale, who were playing Carton and Reanne, respectively.
