  1. Yeah, I really liked his last album, Damage Case. It was great and emotional, I wish he was still here.
  2. Aaaaand it just went from good-humored to pointing fingers. You might or might have not noticed, but I don't even play your game anymore So You know You can take that finger and shove it up your bum Well, I'm on my phone, so it's probably going to be short. I think, you weren't directing your post/replying to anyone specific, but rather writing to the majority of players. I did likewise, considering that I probably weren't even playing at the same time as you and other veterans/long-time players were. I was just giving an advice to everyone reading/simply stating my opinion. So, you are not alone here, shoving fingers up my anything will not be necessary. Also English is quite stupid, in my language, there is a word "you", referring to one, second person (talking directly/in-person to a "he/she"). There is also a separate word for "you", used to talk to a group of people (they).
  3. Or you could just romance yourselves off-work, using forum or private (skype, byond chat etc.) means, leaving the station for chatting about the weather and finding new work-friends, and actually working of course. Dead-hour and extended shifts aside as these can make people desperate, resorting to self-antagging and other irrational things, I can't imagine, why two employees that come to the station to work, would ever do questionable things in maintenance or in medbay's lobby, or occupying their minds with/thinking of gifts and peoms. Fixed it for you, again. If you wouldn't care, you wouldn't post. Simple. Now, I will probably replying to you, since that's not going to move us anywhere further/add anything to the discussion.
  4. I fixed it for you: Don't you think, these people don't mindlessly hate every lesbian character, just because? Aren't those fun, maybe a little sarcastic or ironic, but after all, just joke posts? Do you even know those people, you're insulting? I'm sure, posts of theirs that actually had some effort put into writing them, actually make sense, 'hold some ground', and aren't "shitposts with no logic". Now, call me a meme-army sympathizer. Because, that's totally how it works.
  5. If a player does not want to be killed that easily, he maybe shouldn't be playing a drone? Or maybe drones were ordered to 'not die' pre-shift, by a duty officer, or someone? I really prefer the option above. I, for one, do not care about dying (unless it's really ridiculous, like mass-syphoning or holo-fire-ing AI's), and would like to play a bound vaurca for this exact reason. To be a mindless, expendable drone, a supporting/minor character, almost an NPC without any free will. Because, what is the point of playing a "unintelligent, lacking self-awareness, not understanding the concept of death"-character, if your character is actually intelligent and self-aware enough to understand the concept of death, and even fight back.
  6. I wish I was Skull.
  7. This coming from the same person who vehemently held the position that Seon-rin was an awful character and that it should've been deadpooled. Seon-rin was an example of what happens when we allow a bit too much freedom in backstory or setting writing. I for one, would be interested to see what Jboy has in store for writing the barebone basics of the assorted established antagonists. Well, Seon-like stuff can, and will be handled by admins and lore devs 'abreast'/up to date/as these appear. And, as I already proposed, I believe that a set of "guides with sample backstories" would be a better alternative to rigid/stiff lore.Don't try to alienate/dishearten me, senpai-trooper oneonethreeeight. I'm just trying to have my own opinion.
  8. So close! The pod's door was bolted closed, an engineer was in progress of hacking it open. The ETD was at negative, maybe it was a few seconds into the ETA of shuttle's arrival on Central, he opened it. I help-shuffled him, like a real dick, and only got far enough to step into the door. I've had no magboots on, so I've just flew away, like this.
  9. But, weren't antags supposed to not have any 'forced backstories' or detailed lore, to encourage creativity of players to do unusual or extraordinary things? Or, if antag lore is entirely optional, what's the point of having it? Is it just a guideline, or example work? Why not just write a few guides with sample backstories? Does the antag lore have anything 'to do' with in-game, non-antag stuff (there are also antag contests/news, which are IC, but not really antaggy, +someone is already doing that).
  10. Ughhhhh this would be so much easier to answer if shifts on the Aurora didn't last 4 hours. We work less than part-time. Lore-wise it would take a minimum of several hours to transit from Earth to Tau Ceti and it's extremely silly to have a situation where you spend 9 hours in a train to work for 2-4 hours, then transit back for 9 hours. Unless we agree to some hand-wave explanation for how time progresses on the Aurora then honestly I don't know anything that would be reasonable. http://aurorastation.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=73&t=4609#p46208 So, it may change a few things. Let's imagine that a big-shift lasts 24 hours, but it's just fragmented into 2-3-hour parts, with bluespacing to Central and back, in between them. So, the phrase 'see you next shift' would actually mean something.
  11. Eh. I've had my fun with Senpai, back in the old days. Playing as Graphite, along with Murphy. Or trying to not be sexed by the Stamos, playing as Blanchart. Or, trying to get along with Ishtar as my medical characters. Or, Hatherford, or Stainway, hue. You get the idea. That's a +1
  12. Well, no one asked me to check, but that's what happens during enthralling. "Follow their every command." It's kind of lame, that someone allowed the HoS to kill the vampire. Doesn't 'revolution-ing/ culting/ something else' override the loyalty implant?
  13. can we AT LEAST let surgery borgs place people on the operating table? its very frustrating having to wait for someone Use your portable roller bed/stretcher, wow, surgery everywhere. Unless your patient does not like pain, just let him put anesthetics on himself and let him lie down on the table. I do not see a problem.
  14. The determination that synthetics are alive is not enough to determine that they deserve rights. Monkeys are alive too. What is relevent is whether the people who decide these things take the pragmatic "If its not human, we give them only what rights we must. Human supremacy above all other considerations" approach, or the star trek "We can thrive as a specie AND be morally benevolent." approach. Let me add something, then. What I'm proposing is, only living and sentient beings deserve rights. Non-living AND/OR non-sentient beings can be made slaves, or whatever (that would explain why cyborgs have laws, and stuff). That would be sort of interesting, I believe.
  15. Why can't we just use the definition of life, to determine what might have rights? I imagine, a brain in a MMI cannot control it's robot parts like radiators, voltage, current, etc. So, shells/cyborgs can't do homeostasis by themselves. Organization. Brain? Metabolism, can't do. Unless you count using (electric) energy to move, and stuff. Growth, not really. Adaptation, not really? Unless putting yourself into a MMI is considered to be adaptation. Response to stimuli. Sort of, yes? Reproduction, nope. Unless you count cloning (from brain matter?) as a type of reproduction. We can also change the definition of life to fit our needs, making robotic/mechanical parts "alive". The whole transhumanism-thing is hard.
  16. The thing is, MetaphysicalPersona seems to want to play Seon and Seon only (Assuming that I didn't misread anything). You're assuming, which is your mistake here. If you had read Dea's posts, perhaps, you'd see that the OP was eventually banned for ignoring or neglecting several warnings ranging from friendly to stern, and seemingly not accepting any help that was offered. That makes sense, and it gives more context to the situation. It proves that was little to no effort made from the OP to improve until they were finally banned. If there's a lack of confidence from staff for the player in particular to be able to create a more sane and normalized character, then I guess it's up to Metaphysical to prove them wrong. Good luck, OP. Assuming that to improve == change or stop playing Seon. As far as I know, MetaphysicalPersona only tried to change their character, with rather miserable/slight results. Also, assuming that Seon == current, genetically modified, 19 years old, top of the class Seon. And older Seon with changed, non-genetically modified past is no longer Seon, but a separate character. Just to clear misunderstandings. I believe (and I'm sort of certain of that), that if MetaphysicalPersona would just kill Seon forever, and made a more sane and normalized character, a generic 30 years boringly-normal character, with NT-approved records, and a past of a normal corporate worker, the Staff would just unban them, just like that (I'm just ignoring self-antagging, for now). But, MetaphysicalPersona does not seem to want to let Seon go. So, am I right? Are my assumptions right? (unless my English is really failing on me)

  18. I already tried. And, what I think: http://aurorastation.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=4505&start=70#p46306
  19. While I (think I) haven't interacted with any of Ove's characters, I think that Ove is a nice-ish person. I'm reading their (or their character's) AskMe.nt account, it's interesting, and goodly written. I like how Evelinna is normal, and usual, how she's not just another human post-accident-shell. Unfortunately, I can't really say anything more about them, or their characters, I wish I could. Give them their IPC whitelist! Also, please change your avatar/player icon to the previous one,it was adorable. That's a +1
  20. Might also want to tweak max speeds of your task groups, so escorts won't waste fuel, and escorted ships won't run away. And the best thing is, you don't even need to delete these task groups. Need to jump? Just transfer your ships to the TG with a jump capable ship, jump, transfer your ships back to their task groups. Also, if you have problems with refueling (and, survey ships being stranded in the middle of space, with no fuel), just set your ship's deployment time to a value lower than your ship's range. You need to have "show events" checked, to see the recent events (including lack of fuel, and ship's low morale) on the system map. So, if a ship has range of "Range 59.1 billion km (349 days at full power)" I probably want to set its deployment time to 8-10 months. Also, I figured out how to test my ships, using the spacemaster way. Spacemaster on>F9/system generation and display>down-right corner of the screen>create empire>(on titan, that's where I could add one, methane breathing creatures) This is great. Now, I need to order them to make ships. And kill them, of course. Edit: Good news! These military ships work! Bad news, they are terrible.
  21. Here, we see two MS Krait's (Missile Sloops), escorting five CS Aginjudge's (Cargo Sloops). MS Krait's are moving exactly 30,000 kilometers ahead of the cargo ships, 45 degrees to their starboard. The Terran Coalition researched and manufactured their first (and second) truly military vessel. Krait-class ships are currently serving as training vessels for Commodore Joshua Allan and Rear Admiral Kai Kaur, and as light escorts for their cargo fleet. Unfortunately, because of design oversights, the ships are now awaiting a refit and various overhauls, all Krait-class Missile Fire Controls are to have their ranges increased tenfold. The Coalition is skeptical of alien presence in, and outside of the Solar System, however, from unconfirmed sources, we know that West Heavy Shipyards are retooling for a new class of ships, new beam destroyers, some say. I had no idea what I was doing with these missiles, I was rushing research of them, fire controls, missile engines, etc. I will need to redo these ships, huh. I've had fun, through. Also, I figured out how to do refueling+shore leave the easy way. Doesn't erase the original set of orders, or anything. So: ship needs refueling> detach a ship from its task group> order it to fly to a colony> advance by 5-30 days> order the ship (a separate task group, after detaching) to join its previous task group
  22. Huh. I don't really know. If '''people''' are suggesting changes (for the past 8 pages), and '''people''' banned Seon/player for '''things''', there probably is a problem with Seon? Because, how I see it, if you change a character's looks, behavior, personality, backstory, qualifications, schools, past, diseases... Is it still the same character, after all? Or a new one, but with the name of the previous one? Wouldn't making a new character be easier for everyone?
  23. Graphite. Quite cuddly.
  24. At this rate of people finding more and more Seon's flaws, errors and defects, you'd better just bin/kill her, and make an entirely new character, MetaphysicalPersona. Because, huh, if people think that Seon is bad, terrible, the worst, snowflake, and/or mary sue right now, they probably won't change their minds, later.
