  1. I'm on board with this simply because its an excuse to make the other races more powerful aswell +1
  2. Gotta say, I've thouroughly enjoyed my interactions with Gr33, am I a lil biased? Yes. Do I think they are a good RPer? Also yes. Simple as, I have no doubt that they will do well PHAT ol +1 from me
  3. I've genuinely enjoyed interacting with a lot of characters on their list (Most of which I didnt even know were Mel 💀) Phat ol +1 from me
  4. Gonna split the PRA and NKA into two separate responses NKA: Matvey holds disdain towards the NKA due to their acceptance of the caste system, a system in which he would have no place. Mix that with his father telling him that they are persistently stagnant and he has nothing but pity and disdain for them. PRA: Matvey is slightly afraid of the PRA due to his fathers vilification of them. As far as Matvey knows the PRA prosecutes any Zhan for whatever reason they please, bending the knee to foreign resources just for the chance to subjugate the other factions. As for Al'mariism, while Matvey himself wouldn't know the proper title for it, he belongs most closely to Moderate Al'mariism as that was what his father preached. Matvey strongly believes in a democratically elected leader, aswell as the idea that foreign powers should hold no sway in Adhomian Affairs. Matvey is a devout follower of the Ma'ta'ke pantheon. Heavily swayed by the people he lived alongside in the Din'akk mountains, As he grew, Matvey felt a strong affinity for Kraszar, and has done his best to memorize some of the folklore of Ma'ta'ke.
  5. Could have the bulwark in question take brute damage when this happens, +1 from me
  6. I like this question, the answer being that, yes, Born in 2410, Jrikhan'Qaradra (Matvey's Father) Was 11 when the first revolution began. Raised in Orul, his first contact with the war was when his father returned home early from work, solemn. Jrikhan, asked what was wrong, but only got three words in response, "Don't worry son." He tried to sleep but failed to, overhearing an argument about whether or not his father would be able to afford simple food for himself and his mother. The next day his father left, and never returned, leaving Jrikhan to later watch the execution of what Njarir remained in Orul, without his father to explain why it happened. His mother did her best to raise Jrikhan despite the toll of his fathers death, she toiled for hours at a time to ensure that he would have food to eat, but Orul was a victim of more turmoil yet. As Zatuzhkan loyalists fought to retake the city, successfully doing so. Jrikhan and his mother remained in the city, allowing the young child to soak up plenty of loyalist propaganda. When Jrikhan was 15, Orul became a center for war again, rebel forces based in Orul overran Mal'jor, leaving Jrikhan reeling. In 2428 Jrikhan joined the rebel forces, another conscript to be thrown in a wave of bodies. Jrikhan was content with this for a time, fighting for what he believed to be right. But in 2431, Jrikhan was assigned to suppress the rebellion that had formed in Orul. Fighting in the streets of what was his home marred the 21 year old tajara. Wanting nothing more than to disappear entirely, Jrikhan did the closest thing he could. He fought until he could leave the army, and attempted to make a home in southern Harr'masir, eventually meeting his partner. For a time, all was well, the first revolution had ended, and in 2444 Matvey was born. Forcing Jrikhan to flee to the Din'akk mountains to avoid the consequences that a mongrel son brings. Though introductions were cold, Jrikhan found a place with the natives, and when the second revolution began he worked to aid the natives, teaching them whatever he could of combat. Though Jrikhan's fighting days were over, he did his best to help the ruling Junta, in an attempt to both garner further positivity between himself and the natives, and because the DPRA was likely the only place where his son could reside in relative comfort. Edit: fixed grammatical errors
  7. So I don't know anything about the actual verbal altercation, I do however know some about the physical alteration (Sup boss, its me, vaurcesian security cadet) At the time when I was hearing from the Ta that someone was threatening her I was trying to deal with the, actual security threat, the person who kept stealing the away shuttle and throwing grenades (cardox and frag). So I asked Rug to deal with whatever was causing the Ta discomfort. I only left what I was doing when the other officer arrived and I was told that it had become a physical altercation. Now, when I heard physical altercation I expected like, okay haha, funny slap go brrrrrrrr. HOWEVER When I arrived I swear to god there was enough blood on the floor to supply the IAC for a month (Both Red and Yellow blood). From my understanding of what was happening upon my arrival, it was relatively clear cut that the unathi had begun the brawl, so I had detained them, and brought them to the brig for processing. However, I also mentioned over comms that we could charge Rug for excessive force. Anyways thats really my understanding of it, It got excessively violent on both sides no matter the circumstance
  8. BYOND Key: whitewolftamer Character Names: Kane Lanson, HAMR-0293, Ka'Akaix'Louz K'lax, Agmeno Sadar, Norm-338, Za'Akaix'Gimb Zo'ra, Vince Callahan, Oni, Dock Haustreyin, Klaas Lyksten, Ignatious Mills Species you are applying to play: Tajara What color do you plan on making your first alien character: (Mongrel Hharar-Zhan) 55, 30, 22 [371E16] Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: Well, to be 100% honest? Coalf is what made me want to apply for taj, his art, mixed with the rp available to taj on-station provides an excellent push for me to play this species. Add on top of that an incredibly robust amount of lore and you get more than enough reason to want to play them. Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: While theres always the mechanical differences (dark-sight, claws, slower metabolism) theres also the more interesting aspects of playing an alien species. In regards to Tajara this one believes that one of the more interesting things is the usage of third person rather than first person in speech. While a human or other race might say "I believe" A tajara would say "He/She/This one believes", which, while probably slightly cumbersome to first get used to, seems interesting to toy with Then of course there is always the tremendous amount of lore in regards to their religion and politics, as well as, well, pretty much everything (TAJ LORE TEAM GETS SHIT DONE) Character Name: Matvey Kalinov (Vahketran'nalket Hrarkhresh) Please provide a short backstory for this character There is no such thing as an easy life, unfortunately this aphorism rings particularly true to one tajara in particular. Born in Southern Harr'masir, to a Zhan-Khazan father and a Hharar mother, Matvey was born a mongrel to those around him. His parents, now the target of scorn from those they used to see as friends, fled from what was their home into the Din'akk Mountains. Eking out a living by trading favors with the natives, Matvey lived a life of labor and burden, working whatever jobs he was told to. Despite his meager surroundings, Matvey's father, Jrikhan, did his best to give Matvey at the very least, an okay childhood. Bedtime stories of valiant riders, rifle in hand riding off into the sunset, tales of glorious Al'mariism and songs to raise the downtrodden childs spirits. As Matvey grew older his father began to tell him more and more of the outside world. The PRA and their oppression, the NKA and their poverty, and the meddling of the megacorporations on Adhomai. As Matvey struck maturity, he, perhaps inspired by the stories of noble adventurers, wanted to venture outwards into the stars, carving a path for himself amongst the unknown. Finding himself making deals with smugglers, Matvey secured himself a place on a smugglers ship in exchange for what little money he had, working onboard as a maintenance man, fixing small dinks and dents, but leaving anything serious to the professionals. Eventually Matvey had done enough for them to leave, and he asked for one destination in particular. Beisel. As they jolted forth into the stars numerous thoughts ran through Matvey's mind, the most prevalent being, 'Will this be worth it?" Arriving to Beisel was a struggle for Matvey, still technically a citizen of the DPRA they floundered for a time getting together the necessary paperwork for a Visa. When they finally arrived in Beisel they found themselves in the same position they were on Adhomai, working any job they could find for any credits they could get, scraping by, job after job, eventually, they found a stable contract with Nanotrasen, working as a cargo technician. What do you like about this character? I gotta say, theres a lot I like about Matvey. For one I find the mongrel aspect interesting enough, the consequences of which RP-wise are bound to be interesting, aswell as the idea that they can maintain a good spirit despite his conditions. On-station they'll be a cargo technician, which makes sense for a younger tajara. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Solid like, 8/10? Notes: Hadii's grace, comrade
  9. Seems like a really interesting character! I can appreciate the realism of your characters albinism not just being 'hehe funny bright' +1 from me
  10. Sorry, forgot to expand on how its different to roleplay vaurca: Well, depending on the caste, it may be completely different, actually, the castes is a defining thing which makes roleplaying different, for example, a worker might cower simply at the notion of violence, while a worker might bolster themselves in preparation, if a fight were to actually break out a worker would only retaliate if they were well and truly backed into a corner, a bulwark might attempt to protect any other workers, while a warrior might rush straight into the conflict to deal with it themselves. Another thing you might have to compensate for as a vaurca is discrimination (Can you blame them? It's a massive fucking bug) After all, you're the newest species to the spur, and you most certainly are very different from those already there. Similar to the castes but not quite the same is bound vs unbound, an unbound being played as its own sapient being, while a bound being essentially a vaurcesian borg. Then theres the differences in the hives the Zo'ra Hive is somewhat of the military hive (although all of the hives have warriors) due to their established dominance of the other hives, they're to the other hives as dominian primaries are to secondaries (Not quite but close enough right?). What this means RP-wise is that a Zo'rane vaurca might believe themselves above the other hives or might even expect their unbound to follow their orders (K'lax and C'thur bound do obey Zo'ra but this is talking about unbound) the K'lax Hive is primarily focused on technology, and are attempting to restore vaurcesian technology to the same state it was before the exodus. RP-wise a K'lax might be somewhat subservient to the Zo'ra, or might even dislike Zo'ra for trying to maintain control of them the C'thur Hive is the newest hive, although it used to be a minor hive, but they functioned as a nuetral third part, most notable about the C'thur is that their original Hive Queen, C'thur, is still with them. RP-wise a C'thur might (Absolutely will be B) )looked down upon by other hives as simply a minor hive, though C'thur is the richest Hive. We don't mention Xetl in this household A lot about a character might be dictated by their brood, for example, just in the Zo'ra Hive, an unbound of Xakt is likely to be an enterprising scientist, while an unbound of Athvur is liable to be an artist. One last interesting thing is their disdain of any mouth to mouth contact kissing.
  11. Hey, appreciate you responding, I'll go one question at a time to make it easier on myself First off Clan Dorviza, Louz does bear some slight resentment towards them, as instead of immediately trying to help an ailing Ta, they required Louz' service in exchange. While Louz DID do his job, functioning as little more than a groundskeeper or, occasionally preparing beverages for them, he found himself beginning to disdain his current masters. As for Unathi themselves? Louz has a relatively positive disposition, viewing them as simply another person to sing praise to the queens with. The Mi'kuetz have a tendency to view Aut'akh as thieves, due to their mutual thievery of technology and knowledge from each other, Louz shares this view While Louz would already have a background in Vaurcesian and Unathite beverages, learning about Human and even Skrell drinks has been a tedious process for them, because, as you've said, they cannot simply plug in and learn from VR, instead having to labor to learn how to properly make drinks under Nanotrasen guidance. Louz follows the classical hive pantheon, Praize be to the queenmotherz, beaconz ovh livhe and vhertility
  12. I absolutely adore Zoey Smirnov, so I may or not be a tad bit biased, however, I adore Zoey because they are incredibly well constructed as a character, and the roleplay is always fresh and enjoyable, +1
  13. Big thumbs up from me, I greatly enjoy RPing with Monty, and I absolutely adore Mia Campbell. Their characters have depth and are incredibly fun to play with or around, +1
  14. BYOND Key: whitewolftamer Character Names: Kane Lanson, Dock Haustreyin, Ignatious Mills, HAMR-0293, Vince Callahan, Norm-338, Klaas Lyksten Species you are applying to play: Vaurca What color do you plan on making your first alien character: R:19 G:36 B:0 (132400) Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Most of the lexicon (Though definitely not all of it) Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: Vaurca are incredibly interesting not only from simply an aesthetic perspective, but from a roleplay perspective aswell, there are so many different things you can do with just the prompt "you were made for what you do". On top of that there is the entire hive pantheon to play with (not literally of course, queens forbid) aswell as other faiths such as the Preimminence. As a whole vaurca lore is incredibly fleshed out and seems incredibly enjoyable to become a part of. Another reason I want to play vaurca is simply because they look so darn cool, I mean, look at them! They're rad! Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: While there are many things that make vaurca different than humans (For one they are literally a different species), and they also have distingushable differences between castes, as my wl character is a worker I'll be focusing on workers. One of the things that I believe will be fun to deal with is the inability to self heal, relying instead on K'ois (The sweet ambrosia of our queenmothers) or a reliable doctor. Other fun things are aversion to light, being highly specialized, no slipping (Get fucked jantag) and of course, it is illegal to refuse a vaurca phoron (They need it to breathe). To be honest it would seem like playing a vaurca is sort of like playing a whole new game, you have to seperate yourself from everything you know as a human, and put yourself into the shoes of some nasty little creature who likes mushrooms and highly volatile gas. I also find the idea that you can be raised almost entirely within a virtual world really interesting, for example a warrior could have incredibly prowess in combat without having ever actually been in a fight, its an incredibly interesting system that seems highly enjoyable to tamper with. Character Name: Ka'Akaix'Louz K'lax Please provide a short backstory for this character Louz was born amongst the Mi'kuetz in the desert wastelands of Moghes, where they were formed to be brewer of skye'mok, as the next time they may acquire toothpaste would never be known for sure. As time wore on they took the time to perfect their delivery of brewed skye'mok, attempting to add flair to the squalid beverages they served, and taking pride in their trade. As time wore on Louz' Ta grew ill, requiring more and more rest throughout the day, eventually being unable to even walk alongside her troupe, instead being dragged in a sled by a Vizk'tul. The Ta's worsening condition weighed on Louz, as they sought any opportunity to bring credits into the troupe to fund her treatment. Louz found themselves working as whatever menial labor Clan Dorviza required so as to sway them to assist in the treatment of the Ta. As Nanotrasen began looking for good, cheap labor amongst the Mi'kuetz, and Louz saw an opportunity to bring in additional credits to their troupe, and took the opportunity as fast as they could. Now finding themselves in a bartending job in unknown space Louz makes efforts to figure out exactly how the people around them work, and in exchange they get Louz' friendly demeanor, and a good drink. What do you like about this character? I greatly enjoy Louz not only because they would act as my doorway into Vaurca, but because it blends Unathi lore into it aswell Louz represents a great opportunity for me to engross myself in two different pieces of lore at once, though it will mostly be vaurcesian lore which i'll be enriching myself with. Louz seems like an incredibly enjoyable opportunity, not just because of the Mi'kuetz loathing of the aut'akh (damnable thieves) but due to how many different ways roleplay could go with them. How would you rate your role-playing ability? Pretty solid 7/10 Notes: Buge (Edit: Fixed a formatting error)
  15. While I can't say I've interacted with any of their other characters, I HAVE interacted with Sil Aclipsa, a character who I believe is incredibly well done and enjoyable to RP with. Though Sil did have a habit of making the medibots into cognitohazards they have rectified this and their RP more then compensates, throughout my interactions I have never doubted their competency mechanically, +1 from me
  16. I've had a lot of good RP with phoenix, would recommend. They also seem to have a pretty strong grasp of whatever role they have their characters fill, so I have no doubt they'll be a competent AI, +1
  17. I've interacted with Evie, and Qeross. Starting with Evie, oh, my, goodness. Evie is such an amazing character, every time i've interacted with them they seem to be a real, live person (figures a real live person plays the game (you know what I mean)) Wheasy does an excellent job of breathing life into their characters and making them feel real. Qeross is painfully pink but done well, I've enjoyed most every opportunity with Wheasy I've had. +1
  18. I'v mainly interacted with Zissan A'Asshan and every moment I have has been more than wonderful. I've had multiple interactions with Kahe Zssh aswell. All in all Dekser is great at RP and I believe them to be competent enough to function as command staff +1
  19. Fair enough HAMR-0293 was originally stationed on a Hephaestus freight yard in the CoC on Zaurghis' moon Visraho, used as nothing more than a strong set of hands to repair the ships that came in and out and unload/load the ones that weren't worse for wear. While unable to truly form opinions on its conditions and coworkers, it began to classify them as "good" or "bad" based upon whether or not they made its job easier or harder, the "best" person in 0293's optics was their repairman. Though there were plenty of people who would be willing to kick over a stray HAMR unit it really made no difference to it, all that mattered was getting into work and doing what it does best. Though 0293 doesn't really understand the concept of freedom, nor does it have the capacity to, its classified the word "freedom" as good due to its coworkers craving for it. 0293 lacks any strong beliefs, but the closest thing it has to a belief is its notion that Hephaestus is good, because they have always given it plenty of jobs to do, even now that its been sold to Nanotrasen, it still "thinks" that Hephaestus is good for giving it more jobs to do. While a HAMR unit isn't expected to take beauty into account, 0293 often took time to ensure that the ships original paintjob was restored, even if it meant the job would take longer, due to this peculiar quirk 0293 was often in and out of robotics in order to ensure there weren't any problems with their positronic, however, time and time again there proved to be no true problems, it painted the ships because it classified it as part of the repair process. Due to its time in and out of robotics its repairman acquired an extremely good rating for 0293, due to this, 0293 has a tendency to classify most Zhan-Khazan tajara as good without having ever met them, since, its robotocist was one. The only other notable person to 0293 was the native Visrahonian foreman who supplied it with paint to let it maintain and even repair ship colors and paintjobs. In the end the only thing that 0293 really considers bad about its transfer is the fact that it will be separated from two people who helped it accomplish its job, the robotocist, and the foreman. Now that 0293 is in Beisel, it clocks into its shift, does its job, clocks out, and checks into the Odin's Robotic storage, and repeats the process the next day
  20. That's fair enough, my view was that HAMR worked in a hanger bay for a long while, fixing up the ships that needed it and dealing with the hauling when it didn't need fixing. I'd think that HAMR wouldn't necessarily care about being transferred or "abandoned" but does consider it "Bad" that it is being separated from "good" people (Ie; its old roboticist). HAMR doesn't have any craving for freedom, all it really "wants" is to make whatever workplace it is a part of better, being friendly, completing its tasks, so on. HAMR units themselves were designed as construction/repair robots, helping to create the superstructures of the future, and fixing them whenever something would break, so, yes this one fixes things.
  21. BYOND Key: Whitewolftamer Character Names: Kane Lanson, Vince Callahan, Klaas Lyksten, Agmeno Sadar Species you are applying to play: IPC What color do you plan on making your first alien character: IPC Have you read our lore section's page on this species?: Yes Please provide well articulated answers to the following questions in a paragraph format. One paragraph minimum per question. Why do you wish to play this specific race: I've always found robots in any sci-fi setting to be neat, Chappy, the MRVNs in titanfall, i've just always loved robots, thinking or not. As such having an IPC whitelist would open a whole new door for me to indulge in this fascination. In the lore of aurora as well robots are well explored and even have their own faiths! IPCs would also provide for more opportunities in a more mechanical sense as having a vulnerability to EMPs and an inability to passively heal could provide for many different interesting RP scenarios Identify what makes role-playing this species different than role-playing a Human: I believe it really depends on the IPC, there are some which are arguably sapient, and then there are also mindless drones who are essentially Borg V2 without laws. For a mindless drone you can have all sorts of fun with how you speak "ERR: QUOTIENT NOT MET. RE-BOOT INITIATED" *queue loud whirring. And with the arguably sapient ones you can differentiate them with emotes (yes you can make the drones emote too [duh]). Some of the other fun things would be robotic slang, or, most importantly, self-preservation above all else. The self preservation thing seems really interesting RP-wise because with organic races you could reasonably justify sacrificing ones self for others but as an IPC? Literally incapable. Theres all sorts of fun that could be had with that i mean come on! Character Name: (Hephaestus Automated Maintenance Robot) HAMR-0293 Please provide a short backstory for this character HAMR's were a mass-produced line of G2 industrial robots, outfitted with marginal sentience to improve conditions when working aside their human counter-parts, however, innovation fuels waste, and as newer G2 models came out Hephaestus no longer had a need for outdated G2 models. As such many HAMR's were sold or scrapped across the stars this particular model ending up in the hands of Nanotrasen. Outfitted with nothing but its "wits" and its body will this strapping unit manage to survive under its new crushing corporate overlords? Find out if i get the whitelist! What do you like about this character? As previously mentioned i absolutely adore the MRVNs in the titanfall series, while i certainly aim to draw inspiration from them by no means do i mean to copy paste it. HAMR provides an opportunity to try out new kinds of roleplay, so far my roleplay has been limited to a human perspective, as in, emotion over reason, but as a robot i can ignore stupid things like emotion and focus on what matters, getting my job done. How would you rate your role-playing ability? I'd give myself a solid like, 7/10, I do alright, and i do my best to improve whenever i can, but i'm not spectacular
  22. seems like a really interesting idea for the aspiring sssinta sshaman, or solarian brewer. Seems really neat! +1 from me
  23. though i havent interacted with Holn, all of my interactions with Tep have been enjoyable thus far, with Todd Mayfly also being an enjoyable character to RP with +1 from me
  24. Sin-pockets, thats what i'll say, from what i've seen of them they're like a miracle cure, no clue what chem they use to fix, but i've never seen a situation where they didnt help
